- Amy (5/5): - The hosts were very kind and attentive, they allowed an early check-in, the house is quaint and it’s not difficult to get into central London The room wasn’t cleaned when we arrived, and even after prompting the hosts, there were body hairs around the basin and a layer of dust on surfaces. The basin pools water. The sitting area outside the room also had dirty surfaces. The pillows are too hard and too high, mum and I used rolled up towels to sleep. WiFi was patchy - mostly used mobile data during stay.

The room was well maintained, the bed was very comfortable, and everything worked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and helpful – I felt welcome from the start. Quiet area, perfect for relaxing after a long day. Definitely a place worth recommending. Honestly, nothing major – everything was at a high standard.

We had the top floor room with private on suite which was clean and confortable. Bed was nice, Gene was absolutely lovely as a host. Quiet and comfortable, absolutely recommend!! No handsoap in the on suite but we took our own and later found some in the shared bathroom.

- David (7/5): Good price property - seems more like an AirBNB than a Hotel - Spotlessly clean Would have helped to have a sign 'Wavertree Hotel', outside property. Key check in was fiddly. Could do with TV in room. During the evening, when entering the Hotel, the automatic lights only stay on for a short while - had to use the light on my mobile.

We appreciated the private bathroom - The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The room had clean, fresh towels, which we appreciated. We were glad to have a bathroom available just for ourselves. The homeowners were friendly and helpful. One of the owners even made pizza for us for dinner, which was a really nice. The location was a little bit farther from the centre, but overall good. The quiet environment made the stay very pleasant. Everything met our expectations. The room felt slightly cold, however a heater was provided in the room, which solved the situation. It was fine afterward.

The bathroom was less clean than the rest of the house but since these are shared facilities there's not much the staff can do if someone leaves it rather messy just before you.

They didn’t know what room they had put us in, so they opened everyone’s private door to see if the room was empty, invading other’s privacy. We left right away - only their small children were in the kitchen so we did not get a chance to tell them. I have tried to cancel, as we did not stay there, but they have not responded.

- Sinead (7/5): Handy for Crystal Palace - We needed to be close to Crystal Palace, and this was a 15min bus journey away which worked out well. The staff were all so helpful and super friendly. We were desperate to check in (those 6AM flights are never easy) and they did everything they could to get us in asap. They also offered bottled water, and took time to explain the keys etc. Check out was really easy, and we were happy with our stay overall. Unfortunate timing to stay during a severe heat wave! There were 2x fans which helped a little, but there is no aircon. This is typical of most houses in UK, so wouldn't expect it, just something I'd consider again. The lockbox was difficult to open, and another guest had to let us in (we were very early, just hoping to leave bags down).

No towels provided. Gene is lovely but her mother was left running the place who didn’t know what was going on Arrived with a friend and upon later understanding we had two single rooms booked were told, o thank god, I thought you were in the same room. We’re not gay, but if we were then wouldn’t have felt welcome! Wouldn’t take much to improve and house is nice, stuff everywhere, other people’s clothes in wardrobes, things piled in boxes etc. But experience let down by attitude and level of attention to detail

The room was a bit too small for 3 tall adults. The beds are quite short and the wardrobe does not have space for longer clothes which we needed .

Which made it hard for my parents to go up and down the stairs. Additionally, it turned out to be a hostel. We thought we rent the full apartment. The laundry wasn’t included and the shower time limit wasn’t fair. We felt like there were too many rules and no privacy. The rooms were also too small for a group of 3 .

It was like living in a house in London like I have always wanted to. I could have used an empty cupboard in the room. A bit far away from the city using public transport.

- A (9/5): A quiet haven in the city! - The house is cosy and a bit artsy, and Gene was an excellent host. The street is nice and calm and typical London for Londoners-living-area, but with Streatham High Street so near you are still in a big city with lots of restaurants, cafés etc. Also good to be able to prepare food yourself.

- Clare (9/5): Definitely coming back - I arrived at the time I had said. The key safe was where it said on instructions. The owner called to me to say where my room was when she heard me arrive. Key to my room was in the door. Lovely clean room. No. 2 on the second floor. There was a bathroom on that floor and a fridge (so you can keep milk and maybe something for breakfast in there) and kettle in the corridor area so you could make tea and coffee. Plenty of tea bags and coffee sachets. Decent sized mugs. Like a hotel room you fill the kettle from the bathroom sink. There was a handy bottle of washing up liquid and a scourer so you could wash your mugs. The price included the use of the kitchen on the ground floor. I did not take advantage of this. Bathroom was clean , very nice hot shower Beds comfortable. There were electric blankets if you needed them but it was lovely and warm anyway. All newly refurbished and spotlessly clean

- Moods (5/5): Disappointing. - Location was good for our needs. No-one there to meet us although the key and instructions were at hand. The room was described as a 'luxury' room. In fact it appeared to be a store room for all the spare blankets , pillows and suitcases. the bed had human hairs in it, which begged the question, ' had it already been slept in '. To top it all there was a communal bathroom and toilet but we were not supplied with any soap, shampoo or in fact a towel.

The shared bathroom was not an issue, especially since the shower and toilet were separate. I knew it was far from the center, but I should have checked Google Maps before booking! But there’s a very convenient bus that takes you almost all the way there from Westminster.
- Samin (10/5): Cozy like your own home - It was really clean and pleasure place , location was good as well for train and bus station, i didn’t meet that lady which i saw on reviews but i met a guy who was really respectful and had responsibility for everything there, i was there for 2 nights and to be honest in their kitchen they prepared everything, the design was really nice , the kitchen bathroom and toilets were clean and i saw one lade who cleaned there up after some guests left, highly recommended and i should tell you fell like you are in your own home 👌

- Artem (10/5): Definitely recommended - Not far from centre with Big Ben and Tower. Very good district with beautiful houses, like in films about London. I lived in one of them. Hostess Gene is very friendly with positive energy and wish to help. When I came after rain she offered to dry my clothes in drying machine. I could also use washing machine free of charge. Ecology is so good I saw 2 live squirrels playing in backyard. Maybe small room . but I was alone and space for me was enough. And I walked along London whole day, came back just to sleep.

I had to wait two and a half hours outside of the house and it was really very cold...I arrived at 1:30pm and someone opened the door at 16:00..I was shivering from the cold,I was about to call a taxi and going to the nearest Travelodge Hotel..My bedroom was too small,I couldn't walk inside my bedroom.. I brought only one cabin suitcase and I didn't have space in my bedroom to open my suitcase,too tiny.The owner charged me £15 to wash 3 pieces in the washing machine.

Quiet street - good location, parking available outside - free all day at weekends. Would come back happily and recommend to others. I prefer having en suite rooms however my single room was right next to the bathroom so it was very convenient and clean and I didn't have any problems sharing with other guests.

- Steven (8/5): Great place with a great host. - The room and Gene were great. Definitely a good and nice place to be. This isn’t criticism but I hadn’t realised that Lambeth extends 3-4 miles from the River Thames.

- Zane (9/5): Quiet, comfortable house. - I've slept in a lot.of places. This one is pretty nice. Gene is a very nice host. House is clean, comfortable and quiet. Located in a quiet area. Room was comfortable and nice. Used kitchen and cooked. You can see the crystal palace tower thing when walking the other street. Check in instructions were easy to understand.

- Marion (6/5): Lovely host - Gene is a lovely host and made me feel at home. The room was small but cosy and the bed was comfy. The location is great for getting into central London quickly and easily. The bathroom was not very clean. The soundproofing between rooms was really bad - one guest got up to leave at 2am and others were making noise at 4am - the locks on the doors are so noisy and the walls so thin that you could hear absolutely everything. I found this really disappointing as otherwise it's a lovely place to stay.
