Guest Reviews
- Deborah (9/5): We had a very pleasant start at Banksia Cottage. Perfect for 2 couples even with one bathroom. Cooking facilities good. - Very comfortable. Great location - about a half hour walk into town for coffee and walks ( Banksia Peaks) just adjacent. All good
- Rebecca (9/5): - Location was great, nice and clean with easy access to walking tracks. The bath towels have seen better days. Small, thin and frayed. Apart from that the stay was pleasant
- Hasan (6/5): -
- Judith (5/5): Lovely location very comfy but needs immmediate external upgrade - The poor presentation of front of house…broken down verandah. Rotten wood. Old fridge.
- Jyotsna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (7/5): Lovely spot and cottage, just needs some small improvements. - Great living area, decks, location, TV, couches, heating. Some small improvements and maintenance would go a long way eg. The clock was out of battery, the coffee table had a piece of wood hanging off it, the towels were threadbare, there wasn’t enough hand soap provided in the bathroom and no shower soap.
- Anup (8/5): Great stay. Value for money. Very comfortable and cosy. - Great location. Very close to main city centre. Very cosy house. No heaters in bedrooms.
- Mandy (6/5): Cottage is pleasant enough however could have a makeover inside and out - Location was nice and quiet. Wood heater with the wood supplied was a nice touch. Garden overall is scrappy and could do with a make over
Prune shrubs in driveway do they don’t scrape car on way in
Cob webs on front screen door
Front porch area needed sweeping and outdoor setting presented nicely - there was only one chair and it was upside down. (Have photos if required) Does not give a good first impression.
Back verandah was much the same
Non stick fry pan was too buckled and could not be used - needs replacing. Tried using electric frying pan - light came on but it did not heat up
We’re expecting to be able to check in at 2pm or shortly after (as per the email we received ) However we’re not able to check till after 3pm
Utensils drawer in kitchen was quite cluttered and included sharp knives.
A nice touch would be a coffee machine. Understand that kitchen would not accommodate a dishwasher and that was fine.
In comparison to accommodation we had in Lorne the week before which was double the size and had 180 degree view of the ocean and much better presented, we feel the cottage was overpriced. A makeover on the house and garden to bring it up to scratch is required to charge the fee that we paid
- Kerry (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
