Guest Reviews
- Lita (10/5): A perfect stay in the beautiful Scottish country side. -
- Sean (10/5): Handy for the village clean and comfy with excellent hosts - Loved the garden view, and loved that I had a separate door to access the room. The breakfast was excellent and the hosts charming and welcoming. Not a big fan of electric showers as they are not powerful enough
- Louise (9/5): - Roland and Sue were very good hosts. The room was very comfortable. Booking.com need to specify that the bathroom, although for private use, is not en suite.

- Katie (10/5): Relaxing Break with Stunning Views - Stunning views from the property. Our room was very clean and we loved the ‘retro’ style. My partner and I ate a wonderful English breakfast cooked by Roland, and enjoyed this in the dining room whilst admiring the rolling hills and birdwatching. Roland and Su were extremely welcoming and knowledgable about the local area/wildlife. Can’t recommend Aquila Retreats enough for a relaxing break. (Pictures included of ‘Wee Cauldron,’ a short walk away). - Katie and Jake

- Naomi (10/5): - The hosts are so friendly, the food was great and the room was clean, bright and comfortable. The communal areas are also lovely with the most beautiful window seat perfect for any book lover or bird watcher, and the bird feeds ment there was so much to see.
- Scott (9/5): - Really Nice hosts. Attention to detail and good breakfast especially the coffee
- Andrea (10/5): - Roland and Su are very good hosts, we liked our stay, the breakfast room was amazing with an amazing view and the food was outstanding. All was good. Even if the bathroom was outside the room, it was big and comfortable and we liked it. On Sunday morning Roland joined us for a bike ride to Saint Fillans and we had a great chat over a coffee. We are very thankful for the company and the stories that Roland shared with us. I have included a picture of my partner and Roland him during our ride. Nothing.

Large shower, easy to use with fluffy towels. Excellent hosts, friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with fresh fruit salad and good choice of cooked breakfast. A perfect place to stay to relax and explore. Easy to find and about 20 mins walk into town. Can't think of anything!

- Lyn (10/5): Lovely Retreat Spot - Great find!! Roland and Su were amazing hosts. They made us feel like family. Room was wonderful and had everything we needed and more. Breakfast was tasty and had lots of options. Views were beautiful and location provided the perfect place to make our base. Convenient to major attractions. We would 100% stay here again. - Ian (10/5): A lovely stay with perfect hosts. - The room had its own entrance, so that we could get in easily when we returned from a party. Outside this door was our own seating area, with a beautiful view to wake up to.
Breakfast was superb, cooked to order, and Su and Roland couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Nothing
- Ramu (10/5): - The hosts, Roland and Su were exceptional hosts.
They went out of their way to make us feel at home.
The location where the BnB is located, is a tranquil paradise.
And to top it all, the breakfast was delicious.
I wish we had stayed there longer than a night. Nothing

- Melanie (9/5): Nice clean comfy room with nice hosts and a great breakfast - The breakfast was lovely and the bed was really comfy. We couldn’t have the en-suite room as the loo had broken, but the replacement was very nice. Quiet. The shower was a bit quirky and I wasn’t keen on walking down the corridor in the night for the loo.
- RANULPH (10/5): Wonderful hosts, perfect sleep, brilliant location and excellent value for money. - The hosts were absolutely amazing - such nice, friendly people who were so accommodating. They are the best hosts we’ve ever had at a BnB. They cooked a brilliant breakfast for the guests which set us up for the day. We had very nice room with a really comfortable bed. The bathroom was decorated with orange tiles which gave it a nice Spanish feel. The garden and scenery with all the birds and wildlife gave a nice, relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a coffee in the morning. We would happily stay here again!
- ARealHighlander (8/5): - Quiet, excellent breakfast, friendly hosts, comfy. The place encourages quiet, contemplating, holistic atmosphere. Which is great if that's your thing. If you just want a bed for the night, there are no TVs in the rooms, which may be different from what you expect.
- Cait (9/5): -
- mary (10/5): A happy, peaceful stay. - Very friendly, helpful hosts. Comfortable accommodation. Beautiful tranquil setting and nice location. Very good breakfast.
- Iain (9/5): Sit back, relax, and watch nature do it's thing. - Wonderful break at a wonderful location, and with wonderful hosts. We stayed in the King Room which is spacious and airy.
The bed was supremely comfortable and I enjoyed some of the best nights sleep that I've ever had on our travels. The room is not en-suite, but don't let that put you off, it has a very well appointed bathroom just a few short steps away.
Roland and Sue are excellent hosts, and we were made very welcome from the moment we arrived, absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them. As for breakfast? It was one of the highlights of the stay, we were treated to a vista of various wildlife parading past the patio windows of the dining room every morning.
All in all, our stay was an absolute delight.
- Carolyn (9/5): Lovely bed and breakfast in a beautiful location - A beautiful location with wildlife right on your doorstep! We saw deer, birds, rabbits and even a hedgehog. The room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of storage for cases. In fact, the bed was super comfortable - we both had a wonderful night’s sleep! The hosts were lovely and kind and nothing was too much trouble.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Serena (8/5): Tranquil, homely stay - Fabulous, peaceful location with views to the hills. Easy walk into the village or to nearby Cultybraggan camp.
Comfortable bed, bright room and ensuite. Good breakfasts.
Su and Roland are great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Plumbing a bit iffy at times, I think probably due to low water pressure, but didn't cause any real problems.
- Helen (9/5): -
- calmac (9/5): Lovely house in quiet location on edge of village -
- David (8/5): -
- Joel (9/5): -
- John (8/5): Friendly and warm -
- David (9/5): Great over night stay to recharge our batteries and a hearty breakfast before travelling on. - Breakfast was very nicely cooked and presented
The accommodation is set in a quiet and tranquil environment
Comfortable beds. Slept well.
Hosts very welcoming and friendly. Nothing much to dislike.
The decor is a little old fashioned for a younger modern day traveler but fine for us older ones.
Bedside lamp sockets behind head board made it impractical to use the lamps. (on suit bedroom)
Welcome pack could be placed on the bed rather than inside a bureau. As the information inside is very informative (on suit bedroom)
- Janice (10/5): Brilliant stay with very pleasant hosts. - The hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The room was comfortable. Very much a home from home feeling. There was nothing to dislike.
- Alison (10/5): Fabulous - Extremely friendly hosts and were very kind in offering food when I arrived. I had an early start for work and Sue kindly left a croissant out for me.
- Simon (10/5): Great bed and breakfast. - Very relaxed atmosphere, made to feel at home. Nothing really.
- Finlay (10/5): Had a lovely overnight stay at Aquila Retreats, would highly recommend. - The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The bedroom was cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Would definitely recommend.
- Carlos (10/5): The most kind and welcoming hosts I have ever experienced. We’ll be back soon. -
- Gale (8/5): Wonderful peaceful spot to rejuvenate and enjoy Scottish countryside - Su and Roland were made to be B&B hosts - very personable and eager to make sure their guests have a lovely stay. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and very well-equipped, with everything we could possibly need. Their place is very quiet on the edge of a small village, and looks out on a lovely Scottish vista of fields and mountains in the distance - very enjoyable from the breakfast room. The breakfast was very punctual (we needed an early start, to which they were incredibly accommodating) and offered a great range of hot and cold items. Ideally would have loved a French press coffee rather than coffee bags at breakfast, but that's being REALLY picky. And this is more a comment on ALL UK-based locations: there is never a top sheet on the bed, so it would be great if the doona/quilt could be extra large (eg, a King size on a Queen bed), so that it provides the extra coverage on the sides and at foot of bed. We did ask for the heat to be turned down overnight, so its our fault as well!
- John (8/5): -
- Davidson (9/5): Lovely stay to explore Comrie - Su and Roland were really friendly and were happy to give advice on local walks. They also find the perfect balance of providing guests with space while also being there for any questions you might have.
We appreciated having two separate entrances to our room. The bathroom was a bit dated, but this didn't bother us. The water pressure could have been slightly better, but again, it wasn't a major issue.
- Carol (9/5): Good customer service and reasonable price with good Breakfast - At the edge of the village, good parking. Access good . Cosy and Friendly. Good Breakfast
Rien
- Fiona (4/5): not actually en suite - loved the location
comfortable room
breakfast was good didn't like the room didn't state that the bathroom was down the hall the description says private bathroom but it didn't state its down the hall. (I did discuss this but she said its booking.com's fault as their AI doesn't let her write 'down the hall!')
I didn't like the price for the down the hall shower
overpriced
no tea in the tea caddy (yes I could have got some from the hall cupboard but for £85 it should have been checked)
- Robert (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful. Made us feel most welcome. Nothing
- Iain (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): Very happy with our stay and would return. - Good breakfast, excellent facilities e.g. microwave, cutlery, crockery etc so guests could fix an easy supper.
Friendly, informative owners. All good
- Lesley (10/5): Gorgeous stay, excellent location - hosts were lovely! - The location was excellent, easy to find and plenty of parking. Sue and Roland couldn't of been more accomodating, they were very helpful. The accomodation was very private and the room we had was spacious and very comfortable. A good bed and everything we needed in regards to tea and coffee wifi heating etc. We went out the back to look at the mountains, unfortunately the deer didn't come out for us. A baby pheasant did on arrival. Would definitely return - breakfast was excellent. Nothing!
- Emily (10/5): I had a lovely stay, and it was perfect for what I needed! - The breakfast was delicious. The room was super cozy, and the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful.

- Helen (10/5): Cosy and clean B&B, with amazing views, helpful hosts, and a great breakfast. - Aquila Retreats was very cosy, clean and even better than the photos. Breakfast was great with both continental and cooked options. The room was a good size, and well-heated, and had access to an outside terrace and accessible garden with great views. Roland and Sue were welcoming and provided great local information which helped with our cycle trip. Everything was great
- Natalie (9/5): Lovely hosts, super breakfast, homely stay in a good location. - Lovely hosts, private section of the home, very hospitable, great breakfast, friendly cat (I love cats), perfect location. Ideal if you want to explore Perthshire and prefer a homely stay. The hosts really can’t do enough for you.

Belle vue. Bon petit déjeuner. - Accueil très sympathique. Petit déjeuner parfait.
- C (9/5): Friendly hosts, nice place - Friendly, helpful hosts. Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. The grass maze in the garden. A good place to stop for a night. Had to go (back) to Crieff for dinner. The bed was quite hard.

- Alexander Malcolm (10/5): Excellent place to stay. We would very strongly recommend it to others. - Breakfast was excellent. In fact Sue and Roland texted us beforehand about it. We had said we are vegetarians, so they wanted to be sure they could offer us what we wanted. Tremendously thoughtful! On arrival they were very good hosts, and nothing was any trouble for them. Our room had all we needed, and we felt very comfortable there. All in all a first class place to stay! Nothing!
