Guest Reviews
- Philline (5/5): Good value for money - The accommodation is complete with amenities you need and spacious. Excellent layout and good communication with the host. The place is rundown and needs updating. The beds are VERY uncomfortable because it gave us severe back pain. The main bedroom is actually two single beds joined together. We could feel all the springs, plus it was very noisy every time we moved.
There were no curtains either, just white blinds, which let the light in and woke us up very early. The property is also on the main road, even though it's close to main shops and were we needed to get to, during the night you can still hear all the noises.
Additionally, the toilet needs proper cleaning as you can clearly see moulds and water damage.
In the lounge there is a lot of stains on both sofas. There were cobwebs on the ceiling lights and dirty marks on the kitchen chairs as well as water damage on the ceiling.
Not secured parking.
- joanne (8/5): Overall, we had a lovely stay in a clean, spacious house in a great location, with just a few minor improvements that co - The house was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for the four of us.
It was clean and well-maintained, making it feel welcoming and cared for.
The location was great, very convenient for visiting Alton Towers.
Very good value for money. The bedrooms felt quite bare, with no mirrors or shelving for toiletries/makeup.
There were no lamps anywhere in the house, so lighting was either all on or completely dark.
The banister inside did not extend right to the top of the stairs, which felt slightly unsafe.
The outside stairs had no railing, and the bushes were a little overgrown, making them tricky to navigate.
- Sarah (10/5): - Location
- EMMA (5/5): Short stay and family time - Beds were comfy.
Location was suitable for the needs of our trip and amenities in the surrounding area.
Allowed time to spend with family although was mainly used as a base for the duration of our stay. Although the place is tidy, which is great the cleanliness is to differ. The house lacks a homely feel with white washed walls which were covered in stains, a subtle colour feature wall would hide this and the addition to the odd piece of decor, one mirror based in an eating area lacks hygiene, possible move to the living room would be more appropriate. Arriving in the peak of the summer, the house felt cold, an addition to curtains to the bedrooms and living room would allow for the homely and softer approach, along with the lighter mornings. Coming from a housing background, I struggle to understand the need for windows to be locked with no keys provided, especially in a main area where a fire is mostly likely to occur, this needs looking into whilst the back door remains out of use and the front door sticking half way. As a requirement to a non-tenancy rental I.e. Airbnb and short-term lets, there is a legal requirement that a fire blanket is provided within the kitchen, this could not be seen and would need to be added for the future safety of guests, these should be easily accessible and should therefore not need to look for one in the event of an emergency. I feel the need to also highlight to overwhelming smell on arrival, this is stale and overpowering, despite the air fresheners provided throughout the property, the smell was not disguised, air freshener was bought to support this during our stay. Unfortunately, we could not use the tv due to what I assume was a prior guest using, possibly something to look at.

- Dave Byrne (9/5): Great stay for a family. - Location was set on main road (but far back so not a bother). Meant it was easy to get out and about each day. Property was large. Hd everything we needed. Given parking permit for entire stay, and found a space right outside each time. Nothing!!! Place was great. Good value too.
- Oseni (7/5): -
- Nadeem (6/5): Great Location, great communication with the owner. - Location, excellent communication with landlord, issues occurs and resolved asap.
I.e bin bags, toilet rolls, light bulb. Unable to open downstairs windows
Yellow dirt in between shower room tiles
Spider webs in the house
Garden was not accessible
- Yvonne (8/5): Good location, but it requires an update. But overall it is good value for money. - The location close to the university was perfect. The walk into town was quick and easy. Having everything in one place and ability to move around rather than being in one room is a bonus. This place is perfect for a long stay.
The house is clean in general, and it smells good, so you know it is well cleaned. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you require for your stay, short term or long term. There was complementary tea and coffee there. It would have been an added bonus if there was a pint of milk available, so after a long drive, you could have just made a cup of coffee before going shopping.
There is a large tv in the living room with free Netflix access. This is a massive bonus as you normally have to log onto your own account. Initially, we weren't sure we were in the right area. The windows were open upstairs, so I thought someone lived there.
Whilst the house was clean, it does require an update. There are just a few snagging issues that need to be addressed. The front door sticks on the floor when you enter, so you have to give it a really good push. There are 2 showers in the bathroom over the bath, so I was unsure which one to use. When you did find the right one, the angle of the shower was a little awkward. The bath requires some attention to the fixing on the wall as it is coming away.
Whilst the house was clean, it would have been useful for the cleaner to check the cobwebs and spiders located in the house. These were quite visible, so it would have been easy to spot. I know spiders are a pain and appear from nowhere, but these had been there a couple of days. Luckily, whilst I dont like spiders, these were small, so it was not that much of an issue. But for someone else, it could have been.
The sofas in the living room could do with a clean or being replaced as they were stained and a little uncomfortable to sit on as it felt that there was not much padding.
- Mark (8/5): Nice stay in stoke - Large and good facilities, was easy to check in. Nothing really - beds are very soft and agree with other reviews the front door does stick.
- Natsuko (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed here for my daughter's graduation and very close to the university campus, so the location was perfect.
Parking space and parking permit were great, too.
It was a very clean, tidy, and comfortable house to stay.
- Victoria (1/5): Never again neglected - It was awful The whole stay grim. Garden out of bounds told after paid just neglected like the whole property.
Dirty sofa beds, sheets. Spider infestation, front door hard to open, slugs, rodent droppings, damp, bath nearly coming off wall. Gutter broken in main bedroom kept us awake most of the night. No light shades , no lamps, oven dirty and trays, equipment in kitchen, no glass on top of exterior fn, wires showing poor that grim couldn’t stay in long .. messaged owner before review ignoring all messages
- Hogan (8/5): Very good - Loved the location and house is larger than expected Not been able to open back door and steep.steps at front with no handrail
- Simona (9/5): I would totally recommend this place expecially for families and long stay , the price is really goo - The property is the best option for anyone especially families, it has all you need in the kitchen, big sofas and big TV in the lounge and the bedrooms are spacious, and is a plus they offer towels and toilet paper . Is close to the stores and a very big play area/parc , also to the waterpark and town centre . And it also has parking , the parking is a really good bonus . The host answers the messages really quick and he was very helpful and friendly. Overall I will book again and I also recommend. The beds could be cleaner , but I have high standards so don't mind me 😅
- Katarina (5/5): In need of some TLC…. - The property itself would make a great base for families looking to stay near Alton Towers, but there were a few things that let it down…
Property needs a deep clean, walls a fresh lick of paint. The tired bathroom has mould in the grout/seal, around the shower and walls; huge cracks around the tub and no light fixture cover! Bedrooms very basic and again no lampshades in one of the bedrooms or landing/hall. Washing machine is great, but there is nowhere to hang washing. Kitchen needs a refresh; the cupboards very tired, cutlery could do with a change plus a slimline dishwasher as a minimum. Property can sleep up to 6, but only has 2 wine glasses and no wine bottle opener….4 mugs and bowls and the state of some of the utensils is questionable. These little touches would make a big difference.
Leading up to the visit, the host was very friendly and prompt with replies and information…had no questions during the stay, so there was no need to contact him.
- Donna (7/5): Nice visit, ideal for our purpose. - Good value for money for a two night stay. It's our second visit here. Althought the house was clean I feel since our last visit, the decor and bathroom are in need of upgrading. Bathroom is clean but run down. The front door sticks due to the flooring. Some curtains would be goodin the front bedroom as very bright early in the morning in the spring months.
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): The accommodation was clean, spacious and fit for purpose, and at a very attractive price. - The house was scrupulously clean and well prepared.
A lady who was cleaning the house prior to our family group arriving, rang me to discuss an issue with the bathroom blind that she'd encountered from previous guests, just to let me know and ask what my preference was. Such a respectful and polite gesture, and reflected the care taken to prepare the house for guests. First class service, thank you! We were in Stoke for a funeral, and the accommodation was perfect for our needs. Many thanks, and highly recommended for a reasonable cost stay.
- Geize (9/5): Superb -
- Kenneth (10/5): Excellent in all respects. - Very clean, very comfortable and a very good quality of finish. Central heating, hot water and WiFi were all outstanding. Communications excellent. NA
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and had everything you need. I was there for my graduation at Staffordshire University and it was a 3min walk down the road, Perfect location. Nothing!
- Xjenx87 (3/5): Poor - House was modern, and access was easy. Unfortunately my daughter and her friend were bitten quite badly by bed bugs in the back room. I contacted Host to complain and received no response. Disappointed in this as this really ruined the stay.
- Kian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (9/5): Very clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. Would certainly stay here again. - Very clean, modern, and spacious. Typical English two-storey home with living room and kitchen downstairs, and two bedrooms with a bath upstairs. Heating and internet worked great. Kitchen and washer/dryer was really nice to have. Location is on a very busy main road, but after seeing the internal parts of many of the neighborhoods in Stoke, we were happy with the location. Not a fancy place, but excellent value and very comfortable. There isn't much around the location that one could easily walk to for groceries, dining, etc. But if you have a car this would not be a problem. That was the only downside.
- Catherine (10/5): Great stay in a clean property in a good location. - Very clean property inside. Great location for our trip to Alton Towers. Close to lots of food places/supermarkets. Comfy beds and plenty space for a family of four. Would be good if each room had a mirror for hair drying/getting ready purposes. Maybe a lamp in the living room as it’s quite bright.
- Shaun (9/5): Great house with all you need, set up ready to go. - Very clean and had everything set up for our arrival, parking permit, tea coffee sugar, washing up liquid, toilet roll, all beds made up, great location and clear communication with the owner, very pleased overall with our stay and close to shops and half hour drive to Alton towers, great bolt hole for a family. Sofa bed in lounge not the most comfy and maybe curtains instead of blinds would help to block out the light in the front of the house at night, but that would be our preference and would not bother some people.
- Josephine (8/5): It was a great time - I really loved the rooms and the living room. The apartment was beautiful There wasn’t anything in particular
- Kunle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (9/5): Brilliant thank you - Beautiful accommodation stairs at front of property had an overgrown hedge which was a safety hazard. Couldn't bring the buggy up the stairs so baby had to lay on her changing mat. Skirting boards aren't attached to wall or floor and kept falling off.
- Russell (4/5): The area was nice but the house didn’t seem well maintained. - The location was placed in a nice spot. Near shops and right next to a park. It had parking in front of the property. Getting into the property was very annoying. The bush on the side of the stairs would always brush against us and since it was raining that day we were even more soaked. That bush definitely needs a good trimming.
The sofa bed was dirty. Had stains and crumbs in the crevices. So when the sofa got laid flat as a bed you could see lots of crumbs like it wasn’t hoovered. Now if there was a hoover that would have been ok but there wasn’t. As well as a mop to clean any spillage or splashes from the sink.
For the toilet, It would have been nice to have a lock on it to have a sense of privacy. Also coat hanger or sometype of hook behind the door of the toilet or even the living room door would be nice to have so we could have hooked our jackets in the living room or even the towels and clothes in the toilet.
- Sarah (9/5): Nice comfortable stay, good location, good host - Very well located for our needs, good size and all we needed included. Very good clear communication and responsive owner. Even supplied us with a permit to park right outside! A little detail slightly wobbly sink bathroom but functioned well
- Mariana (10/5): Perfect! - Everything was perfect. We will be definitely coming back. The house was spotless clean.
- Chelsea (10/5): Lovely house! Would recommend to anyone that wanted a family stay, communication was very good on point with detail’s &a - It met our expectations the house was clean lovely house perfect for family’s we were a family of 6 easily settled in lovely Only thing I would recommend is curtains in the bedrooms
- Robert (7/5): Enjoyed our stay, although the above points need attention the house was comfortable and very clean. - The layout was good, Wifi was not a bonus it was essential to book the property. No place to hang outside coats or to contain outside shoes. The front bedroom was too light at night even with no electric light on. The bedrooms lacked lampshades on the one main ceiling light. Only one bedside cabinet and no bed side lamps provided, so one had to keep the main light on to read and also get out of bed to switch the main light off when ready to try sleep. Apart from one room no clothes hooks/hangers provided on the back of room doors and no chairs to place the clothes one was taking off. Finally no form of instructions to operate the cooker, the heating system or the washing machine. No information provided to assist what was of benefit in the area for entertainment, local recommended shops, nearest Pharmacy, hospital or the like. It was as if the owner / manager had not any idea of what an apartment needed. Finally the garden was unkept to the front of the house, the gate was only capable of being partially open, restricting access. The house entrance door was restricted in opening by the floor been raised in the entrance area.
The
- Donna (9/5): Great little property. - Great communication from owner. Clean spacious house. Very comfortable, clean beds. Good sized rooms. All the wee extras like shampoos , towels etc. We had brought toilets rolls, dish cloths, fairy liquid all our toiletries and didn't need any of them. Would definitely recommend. Exceptional value for money. Nothing. Great find, would stay again.

- Diane (9/5): Lovely stay. - Great host, very accommodating .Spotlessly clean house . Big comfortable beds and fab wide screen netflix television. Will definitely be back. Instruction manual for heating would be good .
- Ionel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ogbole (10/5): Splendid day with my family - All the facility and Amentities are top notch and brand new. Sparkling clean white wall painting.
Another thing that took the kids attention is the bright lights and the street view.
But for me is the collapsible sofa in the sitting room with the big size TV and the Wi-Fi for my work. My wife just love the kitchen fittings and the complete Utensils. The back garden needs to be well arranged and flowers cut. Same for the front side also.
I will also suggest that you put in flowers 🌸🌺🌻🌹🌷🌼💐 inside the house because I love it.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb - The house is lovely and clean. Easy to find and a really nice space.
Ideal as it was a 3 minute walk to the university that we were visiting for a graduation. Easy to park. A little bit noisy with the traffic as it was right on the main road
- Richard (10/5): Perfect for an overnight stay on the way to Manchester from Somerset. 2 x adults, 1 x 8 year old boy and 3 year old gir - Clean, tidy and warm Na
