- William (7/5): Funky and cool, but price is a bit high for what you’re getting location wise. - Funky rehab of an old motel… puts you back in the fifties… cool vibe. Area was not very attractive or well maintained. Not much of a view and a solid 15 minute walk to a nicer residential area. Room needs a small refrigerator and microwave. There’s both available in the common area which helps. Bathroom was the smallest I’ve ever been in.

I was able to store my personal items from the road trip including ice packs and left overs; make good coffee and enjoy the weekend breakfast offerings. On-site manager was always supportive and helpful. Just wish more of the rooms were larger. oh well.

There were so many little touches on the outside like blown up rubber ducks decorating the yard area, chairs/ table in between rooms to sit outside, hanging plants along the walkway, the pool area was set up with tropical decoration and lights. The rooms were very clean and quaint. Little touches inside like the small tray table, and the bluetooth speaker that looked like an antique radio were so nice. The welcome folder listed local businesses that were popular with locals for suggestions to try while in town. I met the manager of the property and he was so kind and welcoming as well. The kitchen by the lobby was stocked with various beverages (soda, water, tea, coffee) and snacks that were complimentary to all guests at any time. The kitchen also had an ice maker, toaster/convection oven and refrigerator that could be used during the stay. There was a nice area with tables and chairs outside the lobby/kitchen area as well. There was not much shelf/storage space, but there was a small shelf with rod to hang some clothes and there was room in the room to keep the luggage out of the way.

There are no, garbage cans, but a very tiny one, in the bathroom. The rooms are small, but if all you need to do is sleep, you should be OK. Its quite, and felt safe.

Even though we tried a number of times to reach a staff person, we did not get a reply until after we had already left the following morning. Therefore, we did not get to use the kitchen facility at all. No coffee. Yikes. Hard way to start a long drive.

- Darrnyejah (10/5): A comfortable, clean spot with a fun vibe, a great pool, and easy access from New Orleans. - I really liked how clean and comfortable everything was. The vibe felt laid back but still well kept. I love that it’s less than an hour from New Orleans, so it was an easy getaway without having to travel too far. The fully equipped kitchen was super convenient, and they even had snacks and drinks available which made it even better. I liked the little touches too, like breakfast on the weekends and movie nights on Fridays. The pool was honestly one of my favorite parts, we got in on our last day and I didn’t even want to get out, it felt so good. I also appreciate that they offer late and early check-in options, which made the trip even more flexible and stress-free. Honestly, I don’t really have any complaints.

We didn't use the pool but alot of kids seemed to be enjoying themselves. There is a nice little area outside the office with tables and chairs and a outdoor tv. One weird note, the doors have digital locks and do not automatically lock when you shut the door. We were in bed and a woman walked into our room thinking it was her room. I obviously thought the door was locked.

The colors are perfect-oranges and baby blues. The pool is beautiful and clean. The motel sends your check-in information by email so you can go straight to your room. I’ve never had an easier hotel/motel experience. If I have a complaint, it is maybe having a second garbage can. There is a small one in the bathroom and we filled it! However, I understand that it does take away from the room’s charm.

- Debbie (10/5): - I loved the whole retro vibe. It’s a renovated 1961 MOTEL, which means the rooms are not big. They’re small, but they’re clean and have what you need. There’s a community kitchen with 24 access to guest, stocked with free drinks, snacks, coffee, etc. All of the 60’s touches is so cute and you can hang in the salt pool listening to a little Sonny and Cher or CCR. The pool was beautiful and sparkling blue. We will definitely be going back.

The attention to all of the small details (right down to the small fan in each room) is what set this hotel apart from others we have stayed in. There was a great variety of options, and everything was fresh and delicious. It was the perfect way to start each day of my visit. My only complaint would be the pillows. While everything else was fantastic, I found the pillows a bit lacking in comfort. A little upgrade in that department would make the experience even better. Overall, I highly recommend Driftwood Motel for anyone looking for a cozy and charming place to stay. I look forward to returning!
