Guest Reviews
- Leanne (8/5): We had a lovely time - We enjoyed the quirkiness of the decor. The property was mostly clean. The beds were comfortable. The step inside the front gate was quite unsafe, especially at night and could be fairly easily rectified.
- Todd (8/5): Very satisfied with the house and would be happy to stay here again. - Clean well appointed home. The only thing they could improve on would be to have a split system in the main area to provide better heating.
- Gordon (4/5): Very poorly maintained property in an attractive house. - The Schoolhouse was the most disappointing accommodation I have stayed at in my three months in Australia. The location was OK - a 17 minute walk to the main part of time; the house itself is very pretty from the outside; the garden is large and well kept.
But the house is not well-maintained. It looks like a student party-house and when you look in the recycling this is confirmed with, literally, a rubbish can full of empty bottles. The carpets are stained everywhere. There has been so little attention to details that one expects in average accommodation. There was only a bed in each of the bedroomss - no bedside tables, no side lamps, not one surface on which to place anything, or even a chair. Only 2 coat hangers. The only light in the main bedroom was a bare electric bulb in the middle of the room. The bathroom door didn't even close, let alone lock. The bathtub was cracked and dirty - supplies of soaps, shampoo, conditioner, etc. were miniscule. The kitchen was well-equipped though but it all felt a bit "soiled"! There is a record player with a bluetooth speaker but the speaker did not have a battery so it was unusable. I have photos if you care! But the house is not well-maintained. - Louise (5/5): Port Fairy is a lovely coastal village - Quaint little cottage Cottage is lacking some much needed maintenance and a good cleaning
