Guest Reviews
- Glenn & Jane's travels (10/5): Upmarket Villa in Ubud - The villa was excellent. Great pool and very upmarket. Loved that we had washing machine as well. Probably only small issue is its a 30-40min walk into Ubud centre.
- Ben (10/5): - Villa was spotless and the Villa manager Kristie could not have been more helpful she helped us organise our activities on a daily basis and even recommended the best places to visit
- Daniel (9/5): Looks like on the pictures or even better in real life! - We had a GREAT stay at Bunglon Bungalo 2! The location is a bit off from Ubud main area but with enough small warungs and cafés nearby. A few of them could also be reached by foot which is not that common in Bali! There are also a few small supermarkets nearby in walking distance. The location is close to a busy main road but far enough and tucked away in a side road so that you don't hear any traffic noise. The ocassional scooters from mainly local people are no problem.
The facilities were very new and I think we were the 4th group that stayed at this villa. Unlike many other place it really looks like in the pictures and thanks to the great lighting partly even better in real life! The two bed- and bathrooms were really lovely and the overall accomodation was kept very clean. Some occasional small geckos and bugs but that's absolutely normal in this jungle area near Ubud. The house was cleaned every 2-3 days and the house keeping lady was always ready to come if you had an additional wish. The awesome pool was clean and doesn't had any unpleasant smell at all. The pool was cleaned two times a week no matter if someone is home or not. The pool guy could enter the building via a separate entrance from outside to reach the outside area of the house. Also two times a week the gardener was cleaning the outside area mainly to remove the leaves and other natural stuff that was flying around. The house keeping lady as well as the villa host were very lovely and always there to help. We had fresh fruits on request with no additional costs which was also quite nice. Overall we had a great stay. But we have to say that (like in many other places nowadays in Bali) there is a construction site directly opposite to the main entrance of the house. The house shell is already close to be finished so the noises were totally fine. Just some ocassional hammering that was not that disturbing. As they finished the roof at the time of our stay some workers could see into the bathroom of one of the two bathroooms during working hours. But that was not a big deal for us. We just wanted to give you a heads up so that you're not suprised. This was in October 2024 so I think in a few months the house will be finished and we didn't recognized any other construction sites nearby.
Night time was pretty quiet as well but you have to deal with the local fauna which means that you occassionally hear some stray dogs and cats and a rooster in the neighboorhood. But that's nothing the owners of the villa can do about ;-)
We would have rated the house a 10 out of 10 but ended up with a 9 because of the construction site as well as the fact that we had some problems with draining water in the shower (both showers) in the last 2-3 days. We stayed 12 nights. On the last night also one of the toilet flushes broke down so that the water was continously running. We informed the villa manager and she said she will take care of it asap. But that was not a big deal for us. Overall the facilities are still new and of higher quality so that can just happen due to different reasons. We had no power issues or other problems that were described in earlier reviews. Internet / Wi-Fi was also just fine.
