Guest Reviews
- Allan (8/5): We had a fantastic time and much appreciated the touches of wine, biscuits, info on arrival etc. perfect location for s - Very convenient location and all basic needs well provided for. Very good shower. Very clean and organised. Bedroom with double bed a bit tight, no room to manoeuvre. But not a big deal. Not taking into consideration that we were international visitors arriving by train, no transport, so collecting and dropping off keys with luggage a bit of a pain. Also 2 toilet rolls provided for 3 people for 6 days? The shower was bloody marvellous but with a slightly aged person in the group would appreciate a grab handle if possible, just a small thing to consider.
- Allison (8/5): Good location and great cottage - Good location
Good facilities
- Glasgow Girl (8/5): Excellent location, well-appointed cottage, but could do with more info on how to operate appliances - The cottage was very well-appointed and absolutely immaculate. The bed in the double room was comfortable (we didn't use the twin). The kitchen was quite well-equipped and the dining area was comfortable for the two of us. The furnishings were of good quality. We really liked the underfloor heating and the modern bathroom. The location of the cottage is excellent: it's across the road from the station (trains from Edinburgh) and the town and beach are only about 5 minutes walk away. Although parking is not guaranteed, we had no difficulty finding a space outside the cottage (away from the zig zags). North Berwick itself has a nice selection of cafes, restaurants and shops, as well as access to beaches and coastal walks. We would have appreciated written instructions for the shower controls. The water was scalding initially, and we could not figure out how to cool it down; turning the temperature dial fully L or R did not help. There are blue and red dots to signify cold and hot, but these were difficult for us to see against the black controls and it was not intuitive that the coldest position would be when the dial was in the middle of its range. We phoned the NBHH Office (9.50am Friday) but just got the answerphone; we had solved the problem and were away out for the day by the time our call was returned. The digital oven and grill set up was quite complicated and although we eventually figured that out too, written instructions would have been helpful. Although we had no problem collecting the key, we would prefer a security box with a code on the door of the property, for maximum convenience. The cottage apparently sleeps 5 (double room, and a twin room with a third bed on the mezzanine level); it was great for two people, but we think it could be crowded with 4 or 5 (there is only one bathroom in the property; there is only one sofa and no easy chairs, so not everyone would have a comfy seat; and there are appliances on the table which would need to be moved if you all wanted to eat together). Also, if eating out, be aware that several restaurants in North Berwick were closed on Sunday evenings (Oct).

- Neil (9/5): - Great accommodation and easy to park outside the front. Grateful for the complimentary wine and biscuits.. Could have done with an extra sofa/comfy chair in the living area. .
- Joanne (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Location No large towels, had a issue with finding location of bins - info is printed wrong in pack

- Jenny (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (9/5): Lovely - Quieter than expected. Comfortable furnishings Very small kitchen
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcelline (10/5): A lovely comfortable property ideally situated short walk from railway station and to the beach golf and town centre - Location and quality of property well furnished and with lovely bedding etc The doors to both bedrooms were very heavy and could not stay open without using a chair (not fire doors)
This did not make it easy when you have 2 young grandchildren in one of the rooms
Also only 1 toilet roll supplied
- Sean (8/5): Convenient location, 5 minute walk to the beach, groceries, shopping & restaurants. Decently clean, comfortable. Wou - The unit is very comfortable and everything is new, since 2022 I think. Large bathroom and shower. Kitchen is functional, small but well stocked with equipment. Beds, pillows, furniture were very comfortable. The process of picking up and dropping off the key is less than ideal. You need to walk down into the town to the office to pick up the key and then walk back to the unit for the strict check in time of 4pm. I spoke to the staff about leaving our bags at the office so we could arrive earlier in the day and enjoy the town before check in, which they said was possible within their open hours. However, when we arrived the office was locked up and this was not an option with no explanation or reply from the staff. You also need to walk back to drop the key off when you check out. Less than ideal if you are arriving and departing from the train station, which is across the street from the unit.
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - Convenient location .
Top quality fittings It is on a main road so noisy with windows open.
Only 1 settee for 3 people so 4th person sat on a dining chair.
No outside seating area.
- Sharyn (8/5): Would definitely return, lovely property in a great location - The location of the property was great. You had to collect the keys by 2pm but couldn’t access the property till 4pm ?
- Robin (10/5): Fab cottage in super location. - Beautifully clean, modern cottage.
Great location.
Very comfy beds
Great facilities. Quite expensive
No lock on bathroom door
- Jack (10/5): A great home in our favourite place. I hope the bean bag comes back though - Loved it, been before and would come again There was no beanbag this time which we were looking forward to
- Kathy (7/5): lovely deco and colour enjoyed our stay would come again - there were no place mats or costers these are needed or the table etc will get spoiled. A washing machine would have been nice
a butcher block or a trolly as extra work surface for the kitchen would have made life a little easier
