Guest Reviews
- Menyuka (6/5): - Animals and place No kitchen .swimming pool was not clean
- Eugene (10/5): -
- Tshabalala (5/5): It was peaceful and nice just need those few essentials so that it will be the best place - Location is excellent I did not order breakfast Air-conditioner or fans please

- De beer (1/5): Scam scam scam - Fake advertising don't go there!!! Fake advertising don't go there and no support from booking.com hade to stay there one night just because it was late no place to go.
- Naughtando KweThaba (8/5): - everything nothing
- Ngwenya (4/5): -
- Prunel (4/5): - Beautiful location. No wifi connection.
Beds very uncomfortable
- Macuacua (10/5): It was awesome 👏 - I really enjoyed myself, it’s a peaceful place for someone who needs to be with nature and safe indeed, I met this friendly fellow called Nzima, he’s very welcoming and sociable at the same time, we need people like that in fact…. Network challenges…..
- Christo (1/5): - Please provide me of a email address to shear my experience
- Amanda (8/5): - The peace and quite in the area Both pools were dirty, cooking facility is not really pleasing, there are not much dustbins around the yard.
- Nick (7/5): - Good family venture No proper fans in room and rooms were very hot
- Gresham (5/5): wont be back - Bathroom did not have a door and no toilet paper or even a handsoap provided
Shower drainage blocked
Staff was rather disinterested and we even left a day early without even being asked for a reason
- Nicola (8/5): -
- Smith (8/5): - Overall nice and clean
Gardens also kept well Fix the gate .... or at least clean the sand and poop away in the morning if you want the guest to open it them selfs.
Small kitchen dustbin and a mess on the back wall.
- Coenraad (7/5): You get what you paid for: (accept some sites advertised free WiFi - there is no WiFi). - Nice and quiet surrounding, with some antelope coming on to the property. Staff were well mannered, friendly and helpful. Has most of the items one would need for a self-catering get away (Fridge; Microwave; gas hob; kettle; toaster and enough cutlery for 6 people). Towels and bedding are also supplied. Nice place to have as a base while traveling and exploring around the area. Near several wildlife parks, such as the Imfolozi Hluhluwe game reserve and False bay resort.
We basically used Pumusa as a base from where we traveled to the various places of interest in the area. There is not much to do at Pumusa, there are virtually no amenities besides a small swimming pool. There is also not any cell phone signal, besides perhaps MTN (which has a tower nearby). There is also no WiFi on the property.
- Thembelihle (1/5): I regret every stay - Nothing Everything
- Elsie (6/5): My stay was good I like location peaceful Good for older people - It’s quietness Nothing to entertain young kids
Like TV or playing games
Shower in room 2 cold on Saturday morning
No soap stand in Madalas hut shower
Fan and aircon not working in Madalas hut bedroom
Wi- fi not working
- ChristelleHarties (9/5): -
- Cele (6/5): There's room for improvement - Breakfast was not good if I knew wasn't going to include it Refreshing
- Lucky (7/5): The staff was amazing sometimes I think overworked - Did not book breakfast
- Ndaba (8/5): -
- Thandeka (1/5): It was cold - The location plus the staff There was no electricity, we had to bath with cold water.
- Phumzile (8/5): It was brilliant - The place is isolated from town, wild life in the lodge, the employees are amazing and flexible to cater for whatever needs required. We checked in later on Friday and they were flexible to accommodate us with a smile and follows ups on what we require The separation of the toilet from the room. There is no door. At least a barn door would work or a sliding wood door for privacy purposes.
- Mlondi (10/5): Cheaper than the value of the accommodation - Perfect location and the climate I was certified about my expectations
- Zandile (7/5): - Everything was as I expected. All was goo
- Marc (4/5): -
- Glenn (6/5): -
- Freddy Veedee (8/5): Nice and quiet stay - We had a nice stay here, we were the only ones staying. We had a nice typical South African chalet with hayroof. Very close to other game parks.
Although we arrived late and there was some misunderstanding about the dinner, we were served a very nice dinner. Dinner was rather expensive.
- Musa (1/5): - They were not expecting us depite pre booking. The restaurant is non operational but our rooms were not self catering so we had to go back to hluhluwe to eat. The bar was closed and only had castle lite. We left abd stayed elsewhere. I want my money back.
- ZULA ZULA AFRIKA (7/5): Good stop over... - The right place to hide
Hidden between a national park and the Cities...
White Linen in the bush a sign of neatness and nothing hidden... Mirror in the corner ...
- Amy (9/5): Peaceful Pumusa - Staff were exceptional. Not too far from amenities. The peacefulness was great and the bush area was wonderful. You need to be MTN to get a hold of any loved ones at home or use the internet, as signals of other networks aren't working...but then again the peace of being away from technology is definitely serene.
- Amy (9/5): Bushcamp Bliss - Absolutely would encourage people to visit this place. It's wonderful and peaceful. You need to be MTN to get a hold of any loved ones at home or use the internet, as signals of other networks aren't working...but then again the peace of being away from technology is definitely serene.
- Mark (10/5): lonely Zebra - Everything was great That the poor zebra did not have a partner or mate . Everyone that was in our crowd all 25 of us said the same thing . Please forward this to the owner
- Aubrey (7/5): Safari vibe - Bush and safari kinda place. Right in the forest with a natural feeling No cellphone network 😢
- Suzette (8/5): Very good - Quite peaceful setting. Friendly staff. Clean room. No Wifi.
- Gwen (4/5): Disappointing - The walks, and the natural bush Guests were inconsiderate and noisy way past midnight, understandable on a horings and dorings weekend, but did spoil our evening.
- Brendon (5/5): Stay at Pumusa - It was close to our venue. No chairs in the room, blocked shower head, no water pressure. And cracked toilet seat
- Maggi (4/5): Disappointing - The location was close to Horings and Dorings Took over half an hour to check in. No one at reception.
No kettle, glasses or anything to make coffee.
No soap in the bathroom to wash hands.
No fresh towels for the next day.
Small blanket for the night.
- Jacobus (10/5): Super peace and quiet, friendly and helpful staff. - No breakfast taken.
Super staff.
Peace and quiet superb. Not much. It is good enough as it is.
- Seelan (2/5): Would not recommend, until the accommodation has been revamped. - The staff are so welcoming, hospitable and friendly, ever willing to assist. The accommodation, the room was dilapidated and requires revamping. There was no WIFI. The electricity was intermittent.
- Amy (8/5): Great stay, good deal and a nature lovers sanctuary! - I enjoyed the few animals there. Wish there were more. The camp is a good distance to the game reserve and other activities. The camp was relaxing. Pool was clean. Beds were comfy. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The host's service via whatsapp was efficient. I absolutely enjoyed the experience. If you are looking for a lovely, bush nature getaway, this is a good deal! There was no wifi or signal. Only MTN network worked there so getting in touch with other family members over the Easter weekend, was difficult as only 2 people had MTN in our group. They said the tower was not fixed at the time, so hopefully next time it will be so we can keep in touch with others at home and share about our experience there. Other than that, will definitely be going back soon!
- Patricia (1/5): We didnt stay at these premises. We booked into another. - Did not stay at these premises we booked and paid for. Place was dirty.
- Mpumelelo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannes (5/5): Passable -
- Govender (5/5): Was a great bush experience - the scenery, authentic bush experience.
the staff were very friendly & accommodatin The Cleanliness
The fans were inefficient
- Rohith (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lyn (4/5): Disappointing - The staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were dark and damp. I booked a bangalow with two double beds as per advert but this did not exist. Shower was blocked. Walls need waterproofing/damp treatment.
- Kevin (3/5): Poor -
- Mpume (8/5): Very good - Their place is tranquility, surrounded by the zebras and inyala. Staff members were very helpful and friendly. My family had an amazing last day of 2024. Nothing.
- Sbusiso (8/5): Very good -
- Bruce (9/5): it was legendary - I loved the everything about this camp, the swimming pool is amazing right next to the bar, they have brilliant staff, very friendly and very helpful. they even changed one of the guests tyres when he had a flat.
A very special mention to the wild life , the wild buck walk right through the camp, we saw zebra, inyala, impala, torturous and endless bird life. there is clean easy to walk trails to view more wildlife throughout the camp. that we could not stay longer, back to work
- Ntobe5 (8/5): Very good -
- Schoonbee (8/5): Very good - Beautiful and Clean staff is very friendly. Thank you we enjoyed our stay
- Siyabonga (5/5): Passable -
- Zwelethu (9/5): Superb -
- Johann (4/5): Bushcamp - This Lodge is Overrated, better you booking the River View Lodge, it's 10times better. The Reception looks like never have Guests. No WIFI !!! The Refrigerator in the kitchen doesn't work. The staff have first fix the oven.
- Bart (1/5): Bad -
- Zulu (10/5): Exceptional - Location is simple and closed to imfolozi game reserve Nothing
- Martha (5/5): Passable - When we arrived, at about 2.30pm a lady showed us the chalet. I know it was advertised with a communal kitchen, and after we unpacked, I wanted to make coffee, but everything was locked away. I walked around to see if I could get someone to assist with a kettle and cups but could find no one. At about 5pm, I phoned the same number I phoned to enter the premises, and the man informed me he would get someone to help. Nobody came, and only at about 7pm a guy arrived at the chalet, came in, and went to sit on the chair in the chalet uninvited. I was a bit worried as I was not sure who this guy was, and seeing that we were quite secluded, I initially got a fright only to realize he is obviously an employee, but he did assist with a kettle and cups.
- Hilda (8/5): Bush holiday experience - peaceful space food was not great.
- Bathokozile (7/5): Would recommend for nature lovers - Very cozy and definitely gives camping vibes.. The houses were leaking as it was raining during our stay, this was very inconvenient and made the stay uncomfortable.
The water pressure is non significant and the shower heads are very small, making showers uncomfortable.
- Bongiwe (5/5): Passable -
- Mays (8/5): It was good thank u - Location was great Fridges weren't working great
- Helen (6/5): I liked the place but disappointed with the issues of the Wi-Fi and TV. - Pleasant location and nice walks in the property No Wi-Fi working and no TV as advertised, hence miised the Boks playong in Australia!
- Christopher (9/5): Superb - Cute little place with lovely staff if you are looking to get away from it all. Place needs a bit of maintenance, but honestly nothing serious.
- Rademeyer (5/5): Passable -
- Bongiwe (8/5): Stay was nice and enjoyable - The place was clean and quite,of which is what we were looking for.it was safe and secured.feeling of the nature . Cold water on the swimming pool,I recommend that the pool can be also adjusted to heated swimming pool and also sealing or something as nets on the inside roof due to insects that comes from the grass.
- Tarryn (9/5): We all had an amazing stay at Pumusa and will definitely be back! - The location was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The units were clean and tidy. Water pressure was a bit low, but there was water!
- Nokukhanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lourraine (8/5): Very good -
- Debbie (5/5): I would not book at Pumusa again. - The kids loved that we could walk amongst the zebra and buck. The place in general seems quite rundown.
Madala's cottage where we stayed was probably the better of the lot at Pumusa but it is quite far from the other accommodation which would have been fine but the front door was a struggle to lock from the inside and impossible to lock from the outside. As a woman alone with her two small children, I did not feel safe at night. The main gate takes ages to close, so anyone could come in while one is driving in or out. There is no security.
- Xolani (2/5): Very poor -
- Twane (8/5): Great accommodation, exactly what can be expected from a bush lodge - A bit disappointed as the website advertised a restaurant for dinner or breakfast, there is no restaurant. Otherwise, the staff is great, accommodation rustic, loved it.
- Mariana (5/5): Passable - The location was pretty close to Hluhluwe game park (though you do have to drive), the grounds of the hotel were really nice and so were the people that worked there. We were supposed to have a mini fridge in our room, but did not. However, upon asking the people that work there, they were happy for us to put our food in their kitchen fridge.
- Phakamile (3/5): Room for improvement - The animals that roam freely on the property. Tge staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is great - there is a lot of greenery, lush vegetation, tranquil surroundings. A snake and 2 frogs made their way into my sister's room (Room 5) while we were out for the day.
Exploitative prices for drinks. A low quality wine (Unbelievable Dry Red) which sells for less than R50 in a store, is sold for R150 at the lodges's bar. That was the only red wine available. Our fridge had a hole where the water dispenser used to be. We blocked the hole with paper after finding bugs in our food in the fridge.
- Jabu (8/5): Very good - The location is perfect, central to Hluhluwe-Mfolozi and IsiMangaliso Wetland Park. Wifi works great. lack of air-condition
- Jackie (9/5): Superb -
- Nutmegwild (5/5): Passable -
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sisipho (1/5): Bad -
- Makda (1/5): Deceptive pictures - The ad is very deceptive. The surfaces were grimy and the whole room had a terrible smell. The fridge was dirty and not working. Very expensive for subpar accommodation
- Kogie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rouxlle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Justen (8/5): Very good -
- Sibobgile (10/5): good - we did not have it
- Mdumiseni (8/5): Very good -
- Mohammed (7/5): Good - Good value for money. Very good hospitality by staff. Cool drinks and water available at on site shop. Saw zebra's and buck on the property. Parking on sand near the room. Very low shower pressure. Quite a long dirt road to get to the property and can be difficult to drive through in stormy weather. Bug spray in the rooms would be helpful because of the area.
- Anadea (8/5): Very good - Nice and quiet. Could relax Brekfis was not worth the money
Not sufficient aircons or fans avail
Bar facilities was bad. Place needs to up some maintenance
WiFi didn't work in bungalows.
- Van (9/5): Superb -
- Vuyk (10/5): It was a little heaven on earth 🌍 for a few days. - All was good 💯% Me and my family had a great time and couldn't ask for more. We enjoyed it really so much.
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Nigel (5/5): Passable -
- Isibaya-bongani (8/5): September kwaPumusa - Zakhele made us feel comfortable. Great guy! Being in close proximity with the animals Swimming pool
- Cloete (1/5): Awful experience - Absolutely nothing. We did not sleep there. Did not feel safe. Everything. No Wifi, unit was old and outdated. Entrance road blocked off with dilapidated boards. Only one staff member. Pool next to reception green. Bumped my car at small bridge. Unit couldnt lock. Felt very unsafe with 2 small daughters. Will never book trough booking.com again. Will never advise anyone to visit. Smell of burnt food and dirty kitchen upon entering the reception area. Was really disgusting. Had to find alternative accommodation for the weekend.
- Muzi (9/5): Was perfect for our 32nd wedding anniversary no network to worry about - BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT Nothing I didn't like
- Anonymous (8/5): A perfect end to a long weekend holiday. - The property was very rustic and perfect for what we were looking for as a last minute overnight stay. The staff were so accommodating so we made ourselves right at home.
- Mayank (1/5): Bad - This place is worse place ever i have been to, thats the reason i left it after viewing only and didn't stay. Lost my money also.
- Nikita (9/5): Superb - The scenary The wifi facilities.
- Gerda (5/5): Passable - Main facilities needs attention The whole setting.. setup.. look..
