- Deborah (10/5): Lovely stay for a weekend comfortable beds and lovely cream tea on arrival ! - Location and cosy
- Samantha (10/5): Fantastic cottage in a fantastic location. - The cottage was simply perfect, in a fantastic location on fish street, the harbour being a 3 minute walk away the famous sloop pub being at the bottom of the street and the wonderful mermaid restaurant being at the top of the street. The cottage comes with a free car park space which is a real gem as parking in st Ives especially peak season is a headache, the car park is a good distance away but we soon realised there’s a bus that runs very regular that picks you up and drops you off for £2’s and that’s at the bus stop on porthmeour beach. Inside the cottage you’ll find a lovely cozy feel and the cottage is very well fitted out with everything you need, very fluffy towels and the beds are very comfy too.
Emma was at hand if there was anything we needed to know .From booking to paying and getting the key it was a very smooth experience. Would I stay again , oh absolutely it’s 5 stars from us . We had a asda delivery to drop off food which was brilliant . We ate out at The mermaid which we pre booked a few weeks before going on holiday, also the Reef & Beef, The Loft , The Union twice , there is a Pizza Hut on the harbour called stoned so we ordered pizza one evening and took that down to the beach with a few beers that was nice to watch the sun set. People are extremely friendly and with such a laid back atmosphere it’s definitely a place to visit and staying at this sandals cottage was simply the cherry on top of the cake . There’s nothing to dislike, it’s perfect .
- Sarah (9/5): Lovely property. The location means you are not far fro anything in the town. - Clean, well equipped, good location. The parking is far away if you have accessibility needs.
- sawsan (9/5): I would definitely consider staying here again. - Location was spot on for surfing and for harbour. Both bedrooms were a good size. Emma the host was brilliant and on hand to answer anything. Wifi wasn’t great which got frustrating. Could have done with bigger pots and pans to cook with but that’s probably just me as when I cook, I like to make enough for a couple of days in one go! Would have benefited with some outdoor pegs to hang wetsuits and surfboards. My son is a tall teenager and he felt the bathroom was too small for him!
- Jason (9/5): Great location right in the centre of St Ives and 4 great beaches right on the doorstep -
- Siobhan (6/5): Having stayed in St Ives on several occasions I understand many properties are small but this felt very cramped, no view - Location was great! Was very small for 4 adults, no outside space. Did have parking space available but 25 minute walk away. Mattress on bed was thin and uncomfortable.
- Polina (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property , well equipped and near the beach
- Alexis (10/5): Wonderful holiday cottage in a perfect location. - Beautifully presented, modern and had lovely appliances. The location was excellent. The beds were not all that comfortable.
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (10/5): Perfect location for New Year celebrations on the harbour front - Perfect location, just up from the harbour. Nothing
- Daniel (10/5): Lovely Boxing Day break - The location and was a lovely cozy cottage The parking was quite a way from the property was my only negative aspect of the accommodation
- Danielle (10/5): Lovely location and property. - Brilliant location. The property had everything you’d need as well. Nothing.
- Corinne (9/5): Highly recommend. Amazing location and beautiful cottage. - The property was spotless and very comfortable. Location was amazing, just a 2 minute walk to the harbour .
- Amanda (10/5): The perfect stay in beautiful St Ives - The property was comfortable and well equipped. It enabled us to prepare food if we preferred a relaxing day/evening, but the location was also perfect that many restaurants , cafes & pubs were within easy walking to enjoy. The host was available to answer any queries we had prior to arrival and during our stay. There was nothing to dislike , it’s a quaint cottage in the heart of the harbour. A perfect stay if that’s what you’re looking for.
- Anne-marie (8/5): Very good - The location was amazing and Emma was a very responsive host. The property had everything you needed. We had a lovely time. Not a complaint just a few things to be aware of. There was only 2 of us and it still felt small especially the living room. The shower is very small. The car park space is at least a half hour walk away and up a steep hill with no pavement in places. As I say not complaining but just need to be aware. None of this proved a problem for us.
- Nicola (7/5): Fantastic location. Cute cottage. In future though I will book somewhere that doesn’t accept pets - Location Cleanliness… strong smell of dogs and dog hairs in bedding.
- Ashleen (7/5): Ideal location in the centre of St.Ives. - Location, central to St. Ives, beaches and restaurants. Welcome scones were a nice touch and great communication from the owner.
Allocated parking nearby. Noise from attached property undergoing renovation. We are outdoorsy people though a day of rain meant staying in, noise was constant and woke us on the only morning we had planned a sleep in. Owner kindly contacted the workmen.
WiFi connection was poor and the TV connection dropped out frequently.
- Crb20 (10/5): Brilliant location in a cosy cottage - perfect for a week away in the Cornish sunshine. - Loved the location - perfect for exploring the old part of St Ives, perfect for food and drink as everything was within an easy walk, and perfect for the lovey scenery around the harbour…a real sun trap and lovely place to sit and relax.
The cottage itself was really thoughtfully decorated and had everything we needed - the cream tea on arrival was an especially welcoming touch. The wifi is patchy but this wasn't a huge problem - just something to be aware of.
- Malcolm (9/5): Superb - The location for St Ives centre and the beaches is fantastic. The decor, comfortable beds, kitchen facilities etc and cleanliness were all excellent. Emma was very responsive on an initial query. Fantastic choice if you want St Ives as a destination holiday. As first time visitors to Cornwall we were using St Ives as a base so we needed our car most days, unfortunately for us the reserved parking location at the Rugby Club wasn't a feasible option to walk to up a very steep hill, so we had to use a slightly closer public pay carpark.
- Cambridge (9/5): Felt like home - Though a petite cottage, it surprisingly has all the comforts you need. I found it slightly difficult to find the place but Emily phoned me straight away and talked me through. She was very polite about it. The location is perfect if you just want to stroll onto the harbour, where there is plenty of seafood and ice cream choices! Over the weekends it can be a little noisy but not too late though. Seagulls were surprisingly quieter than expected.
- Lynette (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was very clean, with modern and good quality fixtures and furnishings. It was equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay . It was in a great location to explore the galleries and was very close to the beach, with many restaurants nearby. A QUIET, RELAXING HAVEN TO RETURN TO EACH DAY.
- Karni (9/5): Superb -
- Guy (10/5): Incredible New Year experience in a wonderfully well equipped property. - The decor was lovely; tasteful and top quality. It worked particularly well for us as a couple as we had plenty of space to relax. The location was fantastic. We did not use the car all the time we were there. The only issue we can possibly comment on is the water pressure in the shower which was very low.
- Vanessa (10/5): Lovely cottage, will definitely stay again. - I absolutely loved this cottage. Comfort, cleanliness and location was all excellent. A lovely welcome pack was left for us including scones, jam, cream, Prosecco, milk, chocolates and biscuits. The house was decorated for Christmas and crackers, serviettes left for us. The host was easy to contact, friendly and helpful. Will definitely be my preferred place to stay in the future. A wish would be to have a bright light by the steps outside as it was very dark. Also the bathroom and shower are snug which was not a problems for me but if you are on the larger size it may be a squeeze.
- Poppy (10/5): Lovely stay, would definitely recommend and hope to be back at some point in the future. - The property was really cute, it’s very unique and small but adds to the character.
The owners went above and beyond. Cream tea on arrival, and Christmas decorations were all at Sandals cottage.
- Boden (7/5): Great location - warm and welcoming cottage. - The location was perfect and the house was clean and warm; it had everything you need for a few days away. The shower broke on our second day there and the cream tea left on arrival was a lovely idea, but the scones were mouldy unfortunately (I'm sure that's not usually the case).
- Nicola (9/5): Superb - Fab being informed all throughout, Emma couldn't have been more helpful lovely lady, there were just a couple of things the washer needs some attention as it does make a lot of noise when on.. and the shower was a little small husband and son struggled to use it. I did break a side lamp whilst cleaning felt awful but shops were closed and was leaving the early hours..I did message and explain. We did have a lovely holiday and location was perfect a few steps and your on the beach. Perfect would definitely book again... Everything...Emma was so helpful, parking was a big help, perfect location I would definitely book again..👍
- Claire (10/5): Perfect! - What a lovely cottage in an amazing location so close to the sea. Love the fact you could just get up in the morning take a few steps and be on the beach.
The cottage itself was clean and beautifully decorated with paintings of local artists. Emma was a great host and helped us when we struggled to find our parking space.
Definitely want to return here is it really did feel like home from home. Although it wasn’t in issue for us, the car park is a fair walk away up a steep hill.
However, there is a bus service from the rugby club into the village and they’re happy to take dogs on board too.
- Louise (7/5): Overall a good property, great location, very clean and well maintained. - Excellent location, lovely well maintained cottage. Building work next door, scaffold and access ladder outside of window. Washing machine was very noisy, drum bearings have failed. Lounge seating not very comfortable so difficult to relax.
- Zico (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely gorgeous little cottage
The communication with the owners was exceptional they offered lots of tips and recommendations
Their welcome touch of cream tea for my birthday was very much appreciated
Couldn't have asked for anything more. We used the washing machine a couple of times but it was very difficult to get clothes dry ... as there was no outside space to put the maiden. But this is not a complaint as we were very lucky to have the use of a washer should we have needed it.
Everything you could need is there... pans.. cutlery.. hair dryer.. toaster..microwave and oven.
It was the absolute best location. Clean.. cosy.
We will definitely look to book her again.
Loved the fish decor too...very apt 👌 😍
Thank you
- R.p. (9/5): Cornwall is awesome and St. Ives one of the jewels. - Location was excellent. Emma was very kind, helpful and courteous. Cottage had everything you needed for day to day living (toaster, microwave, fridge, coffee/tea, etc.. Shower was made for VERY slim persons (one of which I am not). I have never seen a smaller shower and this was not nice. Parking is a nightmare in St. Ives, I could not have imagined this prior to experiencing it. Not a problem of the property just something to look out/prepare for when staying here.
- Amanda (10/5): Sandals Cottage - Fish Street - Sandals cottage is based in a prime location in St Ives. Situated close to the harbour and all amenities. It's is the perfect little cottage. It was beautifully clean and very comfortable. Comfy beds, beautiful towels and linen with all the comforts of home. I couldn't praise this property highly enough.
- Georgina (10/5): We had a wonderful weekend getaway and Sandal’s was the perfect base. - Couldn’t have been more central. perfect location. beds were very comfy. It’s quite a small cottage but everything we needed was there and we loved that there was jam, cream, scones and milk waiting for us. The only thing was the very slender shower cubicle, similar to a caravan size I’d say but water was hot quickly and power was great.
It got quite chilly but the small pug in heater did wonders very quickly and it was unusually cold weather for March!
- Georgia (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location and beautifully decorated house. The hosts were so lovely and helpful, check in and out really easy and we had everything we needed.
- Clare (9/5): Great stay, the cottage was very comfortable. - It was really cosy and full of character. Location very central and not far to walk to the station.
