Guest Reviews
- Le Roux (10/5): Exceptional - Remote, clean, great amenities Perhaps to close to workers facilities
- Alan (10/5): Exclusive and wonderful farm get away - It’s was beautifully placed on a working farm with views alround and being able to experience farm life with seeing the animals and workers going about their daily tasks Nothing

- Lynch (10/5): Peaceful with clean and beautiful accommodation.. and a lovely scenic drive. - The location of the property is awesome.. brilliant views and the way that the unit is set up is perfect. It is compact, and all you need for a few days on the farm. The owners were super friendly and the firewood is just the best. You can wander around and meet the farm animals.. who were all friendly. We also spotted some small wildlife - a really magical place.
- Ylva (10/5): - Prachtige omgeving. Pure rust met een mooie sterrenhemel
- Izandri (10/5): Peaceful farm stay. - This was such a special place! We loved the cabin, it is extremely cozy and well built. We enjoyed exploring the farm and meeting the animals, ending our night with a great braai. We had an amazing night's rest in the peaceful surroundings.
- Barry (10/5): Peace and quiet, great surroundings. Wished I could have spent longer there. - Peace and quiet, great surroundings

- Letitia (9/5): Cozy, relaxing and breathtakingly beautiful! - This place was so lovely, cozy and clean. The views were phenomenal and the farm life that surrounded us, was just the cherry on top.
The place was so clean and neat, probably the best I have seen. We even got some goodies which was unexpected so I really appreciated that little detail as well.
The farmer was such an absolute pleasure to be around, he even offered to take us to the rock paintings and showed us around. Besides that, it was really private and we could enjoy our own space! The host also had very clear communication and responded so quick when we had questions and directions to find the place was clear.
Wish I could go back. The wind was just very bad and that mixed with the cold, made it freezing, but that is obviously not something the hosts can help for, so maybe just pack some warm clothes and lots of jackets.
- Ben (10/5): - Beautiful little cottage with all the facilities one could possibly need!
Amazing views, peaceful and some lovely extra touches from the host in the cottage. Appreciated the complimentary wine and snacks!
Fantastic value for money and will definitely return in the future!! Absolutely nothing!

- Ansonette (10/5): Super-luxury escape in the mountains - If you're looking for a quiet, budget-friendly super-luxury escape in the mountains that doesn’t sacrifice charm for savings, this place is it. Tucked away in a serene hillside, this remote mountain stay exceeded every expectation I had for a peaceful, off-grid retreat.
- Sharron (9/5): Superb -
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible get away highly recommend
- Spangenberg (10/5): Exceptional, stunning modern farm finishes, absolutely great! - We were welcomed by a mini tour of all the new born farm animals which was exceptionally special to us and we were absolutely spoiled with complimentary nougat and a bottle of wine. Amazing! Facilities are just over the top!
- Hendricks (10/5): Our stay was peaceful, fun and surrounded by nature. - The cabin is situated in the middle of the farm land surrounded by expansive land and mountains ranges. To one side is the farm setup, the owner’s home and another cabin in the distance, close enough to see but far enough that you don’t hear or interact at all. On the other side is just farm land and mountains as far as the eye can see and you can often spot herds of sheep grazing.
There are many activities to do around the farm which the host guides us was very helpful with. We ended up choosing to explore a cave with rock art and to use their canoe on the nearby dam (both were at no extra charge).
However, the best part of the trip was the host. We never actually met the host, but the communications were fantastic! We were guided clearly when needed and responses were gracious and quick. The cabin was fully kitted and most of all clean. We even bought some farm-made bread which was pure chewy deliciousness! We are very happy to have stayed at Bloekomhuis. We would suggest taking a Citronella candle or insect repellent for the farm flies which inevitably end up in the cabin. However they do also provide a fly swatter and Raid/Doom spray if needed.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - "One of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed. Stunning views and surroundings, thoughtfully decorated with great attention to detail—everything was spotless and simply perfect. nothing
- Chani (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay! The attention to detail and little extras as so nice!
- Sheldon (10/5): Glorious place, glorious views, absolute privacy and an amazing getaway. - What a breath of fresh air, literally! The views of the mountains were amazing, the cabin was fantastic, uniquely styled and the little spoils were spot on. This is a true place to get away from it all. The wifi was very good, comfortable bed with a lovely clean shower room. Loved watching the lambs and piglets on the farm. Nothing to dislike

- Janice (9/5): Welcoming host, lovely relaxing place. Exactly what we needed. - Beautiful calming area and views. Host was helpful and instructions were clear. Host went out of their way to make the stay wonderful, with special balloons, champagne and flowers. Thank you! Struggled to get the Donkey going for a hot shower. Followed the instructions but never succeeded unfortunately.

- Michelle (10/5): Best farm stay I've even been to - This place is in a league of its own...absolutely magical! Highly recommended. I ended up staying 3 nights and had snow and then clear skies...best time
- Christo (10/5): My stay calls for many returns! - Exceptional peaceful, stunning starlit heaven at night, wonderful to walk around on a working farm, panoramic hills and mountains for hiking. 4x4 route leading to Tankwa Karoo bypassing the property. Charming, tasteful and cosy interior.
Very caring hosts. Departing
- Emiel (10/5): Exceptional - Solitude
- Quinton (10/5): A getaway to a hideaway to reset mind and body to the simple life things to enjoy away from city frustrations and distra - The views were serene. The stars were incredible. The animal sounds and interactions were relaxing. The cold was crisp, but that weird bioethanol fireplace beat our scepticism into the ground with its efficiency.
The rustic-ness of “the donkey” took us back to childhood times. You won’t find hot water like this in the city!
An amazing location that the hosts share with their guests.

The cabin is very stylish with everything that you need. - Amazing property for a breakaway to total bliss and quiteness. The cabin is very stylish with everything that you need. We were treated with a bottle of wine, chocolates, rusks, bottled water, braai equipment and wood. The owners are very friendly and super accommodating.
Loved that the cabin had lots of card and board games. The farm animals roam freely on the property. Will definitely be coming back. Na
- Nontobeko (10/5): Absolutely loved the setting, loved the surroundings and the host was a delight. I recommend it! - Prior to arrive the host was on the line checking if we had arrived safely, as we were travelling quite late in the afternoon. The facility was clean, beautiful and she had gone above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. It was a bit difficult to locate the area via Maps and pin location so we got a bit lost.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - The property was amazing, pigs, sheep and chickens running around freely and the landscape was beautiful.
