Guest Reviews
- Olympe (9/5): Superb - The staff is very nice and the breakfast is very good!
- Baylee (10/5): Can't wait to come back - The beds and pillows were soft, a lamp and two power sources provided in the bed pods, which is awesome. Traveling for a month can really do a number on your back, I was so grateful to be comfortable. The rooms are centrally located in the middle of a market and very close to anything you may need. Close in proximity to the Monkey Forest, as well as Campuhan. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The place was squeaky clean. Even though you're in the middle of a market, the outdoor sitting area is away from all of the hustle of bustle. Free breakfast, coffee and tea are available at the Bamboo Hostel just around the corner. Can't place anything that I didn't like. I was very happy with my stay there.
- Anna (7/5): Good - Hot shower, good wifi The bed was very uncomfortable
They don't have a parking as claimed on booking. The hostel is located on narrow street, there is a place outside for one or two motorbikes. I was advised to park on another street (where later I was told it was not allowed to park).
- Maria (5/5): Passable - There is hot water in the shower and the beds have curtains. To pay 10k for the towel.
I saw a rat, and I could hear them at night running on the roof or between the roof and ceiling. I told one of the staff that I saw the rat and he just said that they stay in the roof and don’t come to the rooms, which I reckon it’s true.
I think there are rats all around Ubud anyways.
- Stefanie (8/5): Very good - It is really cheap for what you get! The bunk beds have curtains, a reading light and plugs, the bathroom is alright and the breaktfast included was really good If you have questions, normally there is not staff around during the day, they only show up at certain times, but are nice.
- Luis (9/5): Superb -
- Valentina (10/5): Terima kasih 🙏 - Nice hostel in the centre of Ubud! The bed have the curtains so you have a lot of privacy and the AC works very good. You have included the breakfast that can be a banana pancake or an omelette with toast and some fruits, very yummy! The staff Is kind and smiley, I will definitly come back! Suksma 🙏 Nothing
- Cyren (9/5): Superb -
- Veronika (8/5): Very good - Only 4 beds in the dorm + bathroom for only the 4 beds. Central location, nice staff, comfy and spacious beds. Curatains and lamps for each bed. Amazing breakfast. The water in the shower was hot only for short tíme. Then it got a little colder.
- Leah (10/5): great location staff are so friendly - how cold it was inside the rooms, the balcony to sit out on a nighttime was amazing
- Melek (6/5): Only good thing is the location - The location was great. Breakfast was delicious. Some staff were kind. Toilets were smelling and water didnt properly work.
We had to go to another hostel for breakfast which is okay, but we also had to go to other place for hot or cold water as well because we didnt have a fridge or a working water dispenser too. Some staff made us very uncomfortable. We were 2 girls in the room and they came 4-5 times a day to ‘check something’ about the room. They came to ‘clean’ even before check out times or came to clean the bathroom 2-3 times a day which wasnt even that clean. I spesificly asked them to not touch our beds, dont open curtains and not change the sheets but they always tried to fold the blanket… we as 2 girls in the dorm had no privacy
- Gill (4/5): Owner was rude. Great location. Staff was weird with my friends - Great location, pretty central, 4 beds per room so not too crowded My bed was in extremely poor shape. It felt more like a broken sofa than actual bed.
- Živa (10/5): Positively surprised - Great location in the city center with a delicious breakfast. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean with comfortable beds.
- Carolina (10/5): Comfortable beds, nice shower and breakfast. Good location and price. - beds, shower, AC, breakfast. Friendly staff.
- Hannah (9/5): Superb - Amazing location, great staff, bed was super comfy and great deal overall for the price
- Jodha (10/5): Good price and very central location - Staff is friendly
Good breakfast
Very central location
Walking distance None
- Christina (8/5): Very good - Really nice looking Hostel.
Free Breakfast next door, which was alright, could have been a little bit more.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The mattress in the bed was way too soft for my taste, not sure if it was a real mattress or just some soft foam...
- Tiffany (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is very nice and helpfull. The breakfast is great and the location too. The bed are big and comfy
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - Very central hostel, close to everything..
Comfortable bed, and bathroom pretty clean.
Staff very kind
Breakfast nice
- Arghadeep (9/5): Superb -
- Čumić (5/5): Passable - Location Not felt safe as a woman traveler. Everyone has access to the room, there are very old lockers so anyone can get into them and the whole room smelled. You cannot lock the room during night as well.
- Min (10/5): The staff is very friendly in here, the girl clean the room very patient and careful, place very convenient. The morning - Is great
- Muhammad (9/5): Amazing - It's a super nice hostel and located at just the perfect location in the center of all the buzz. The breakfast was really good and the beds were just super comfy.
- Federico (8/5): Very good - Nice rooms with 4 beds, each of them very spacious on the side for store your things. Rooms very clean. Breakfast included, it was or pancake or scrumbled eggs and tea or coffee. Staff very friendly. Excellent location.
- Louann (10/5): Amazing - The best hostel I ever went in. Clean, staff very sympathic and the breakfirst amazing ! I would love to come back :) Close to the monkey forest, shop, temple...
- Lisa (10/5): I would strongly recommend this hostel - I liked the location, very central and quiet at the same time. Rooms are spacious with comfy mattress and big locker. Cleaning take place multiple time per day, so it is always very clean. Stuff is also very polite and friendly.
- Kaat (8/5): nice & cheap for a couple of days! - Cheap, in the city center, clean, friendly staff. Definitely worth the money! the shower didnt go full force and if you put it on warm, it got VERY hot and took a long time to go back to cold. Mattress weren't that good.
- Bex (9/5): Decent stay for a cheap price! - Comfy bed, large shelf next to bed, well working AC, friendly and helpful staff, good service, included small breakfast, complementary tea and coffee… While I thought it was a bit weird that the staff came into the rooms a lot (without knocking) I found it quite pleasant that the toilet paper was folded like in a hotel every time I used the bathroom haha. There is no common room, just a seating bench outside the rooms but it‘s not really a place to meet people or hang around any longer
- Monika (7/5): Good - Hot water in the shower. Good internet. Good but small breakfast. It was nice to have a few fruits for breakfast. There were lockers in the room. Towel and linen didn't feel fresh. Mattress wasn't comfortable. Strange ladder to go to upper bed, not very comfortable to claim.
Tea, coffee, breakfast, and reception are in another hostel nearby.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- George (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daria (6/5): Pleasant - Free tea and coffee for guests. The staff is polite, but asks a thousand questions. Although even my face shows that I don't like to communicate. I asked you not to talk to me. As a result, he walked around and always looked at me askance. It takes half an hour to turn on the warm water in the shower, because there is either boiling water or cold water. I have constantly extended my stay, but during this time I have never had my bed linen changed.
- Isabell (10/5): Loved my stay at Maharani hostel - I really enjoyed my stay at Maharani hostel. I ended up staying for a week and extended twice.
The location is great, it’s really central and even though it’s a busy area the hostel itself is super quiet.
It’s a small hostel with only three dorm rooms and it just opened a few months ago. During my stay we were max four people, often less than that (during off-season in Feb).
Everything was clean and checked regularly.
All beds have curtains, a socket and a reading lamp. There are also spacious wooden lockers in the room.
The staff was super friendly and remembered everyone’s name. It felt really personal and they were always happy to give recommendations as well.
Breakfast was included too and it was great! There was always fruit for breakfast (watermelon, papaya and dragon fruit) and either pancakes, scrambled egg on toast or omelette.
I felt safe as a female solo traveler even though the doors didn’t lock.
Would definitely come back and stay at Maharani hostel again.
- Eun (10/5): I had a very good stay. It was amazing. Wayu and his staff are all so nice. I would love to go back here again. ❤️ -
- Dixit (9/5): Excellent service - Location and breakfast Height of upper bed but it's okay if you are tall and fit.
- Hera (10/5): great place, recommended - Very pleasant staff, clean place and in the middle of city, but not noisy and don't forget the breakfast is delicious, will stay again Nothing
