• Sayali (8/5): - The staff was welcoming and the location was perfect. The beach was just across the street. Property is beautiful with greenery around and nice aesthetic bar setup and sitting area. I wish it had AC in the room. It was my mistake that I didn’t notice while booking however the weather was not that bad and it was manageable with a fan too.

• Ilja (9/5): Groene en rustige oase midden in het centrum. - Midden in Mirissa loop je vanuit de grote weg een terrein op en kom je bij een verrassend mooie en groene oase weg van de drukte en het lawaai. Wij werden ‘s ochtends door aapjes gewekt.🐒 Er is een bar bij voor een hapje en drankje. Ze hebben een erg lekkere lunchkaart. Verder is er een keuken waar iedereen gebruik van mag maken. De kamers zijn eenvoudig maar netjes. Ik zou er zeker nog eens teruggaan.

• Sadiyah (10/5): A calm, friendly stay 🤍 - I stayed at Bananas in Mirissa and had a really positive experience overall. The location is great, close to everything but still feels relaxed, and the atmosphere is very calm and easygoing. What stood out the most was how kind and genuine the staff are. I had a stressful situation with my return flight being disrupted, and they were incredibly understanding and supportive. They let me extend my stay last minute without any hassle, and they were always around to answer any questions or help with anything I needed. It made a huge difference. The location is absolutely excellent, everything is so close - coconut tree hill, mirissa beach and all the shops you need are on the main road where the hotel is including supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies and massage places. As a female solo traveller, I also felt very safe staying here, which is something I really value. The environment felt comfortable, welcoming and respectful at all times. The place itself is simple but comfortable, and it has a really nice, relaxed feel to it. The staff create such a warm atmosphere and are genuinely friendly, not just doing their job but actually caring about guests. I also loved that they let me spend time with their cat, which honestly made my stay even more special. Little things like that made it feel more personal and memorable. Overall, it’s about the people and how you’re treated and Bananas does that really well. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for somewhere relaxed, friendly and supportive while staying in Mirissa. Everything was perfect

• Jafari (1/5): - There’s nothing to like about this place All options are lying and theres no even good air conditioning no options that they mentioned in site and no one in charge any time for even check out we had no time and we had to go airport at morning but there were no one to support and even fir this 2 days no one there and no even water or tissue or something in area
• Clara (4/5): Vendeur sur les photos mais a éviter - La décoration de la chambre est jolie, l'hotel est bien situé L'extérieur (la cours, sous les escaliers, ou encore à l'étage la partie non finie a côté de notre chambre) de l'hôtel est sale, déchèterie a ciel ouvert. Traces de moisissures dans la chambre ainsi que pas d'eau chaude dans la salle de bain. Et bien sûr dernier jour invasion de fourmis De plus l'hotel se vente d'avoir un bain froid qui est absolument vide, il n'y a pas une seule goute d'eau pour se rafraîchir. Le personnel sur WhatsApp ne vous répond que 3h après, il ne faut donc pas avoir besoin d'eux !
• Ariadna (10/5): - I had a really nice stay overall. Everything was super clean, and the place itself is beautiful, very cozy, and well-maintained. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression. They also had a board with daily activities, which I thought was a nice touch, and the location is quite central, so everything felt very convenient. The facilities are quite complete — there’s a coworking area and a restaurant on-site, which is actually pretty good. One thing to keep in mind is that the activities are paid, and since the place is quite large and some people seem to live there long-term, many already have their own groups. Because of that, it can feel a bit hard to connect with others, as people tend to stick to themselves and aren’t always very open to meeting new people.

• Rebecca (1/5): - The location was amazing and the staff were lovely The room stank of mould and damp so much so it made me feel sick. The bathroom was dirty and could do with a good clean. There was mould in the room and bathroom and after a shower there was no way to ventilate the room without opening the doors and windows which then let all the mosquitos in but there was no net over the bed to protect from this like there were in other rooms. Its such a shame as the staff and location are amazing and other rooms might be better than this. We left after 1 night rather than the 5 nights we booked but the staff understood this.

The bedroom was spacious and staff were able to quickly help when we had some ants coming in and out - a one off incident. Bathroom had a funny smell and the water did not get hot.

• Leonie (5/5): Zimmer okay, Bad Katastrophe. Nettes Personal und gute Lage - Gute Lage in Mirissa. Nettes Personal Das Zimmer ist in die Jahre gekommen. Es war einigermaßen sauber aber alles sah schon so heruntergekommen und im Bad ekelig aus.

• Ka (9/5): Good place to stay exploring Mirissa - Great location on main street of Mirissa, very friendly host who were kindly modify my bookings for 2nd night despite already passing the free cancellation period on booking.com. Room was spacious, shower room was OK. Turned out the rooms with 2 different rates in booking.com are actually same rooms: lower priced one are without A/C and higher priced one are with A/C. No complain, fan without A/C was also OK for short stay to rest during night, as during the days we are out exploring Mirissa anyway.

• Aurora (8/5): Un angolo di natura a Mirissa - Camere pulite e arredate con gusto! Aria condizionata e ventilatore (molto utili con il caldo di Mirissa). Il personale è stato gentile, abbiamo anche fatto una lezione di yoga al mattino. Adorabili i cani e gatti della struttura! Purtroppo non c’era acqua calda e un pomeriggio é mancata la luce per diverse ore (però questo può capitare)

• Morgan (10/5): Would 100% recommend - The staff absolutely made the stay! They were so helpful, organised laundry for me and were just really friendly, smiley and inviting. One of the best shashuka i have ever had from the cafe. Loved that there was also yoga in the morning. The room was clean and modern in a great location

• Amelie (8/5): Sehr schöne Unterkunft und Ort zum Entspannen - Super schönes Zimmer und allgemein war das Bananas Mirissa ein toller Ort zum Entspannen mit netten Mitarbeitern. Der Inhaber hat uns auch verschiedene Aktivitäten vermittelt, die wir gerne machen wollten, zB eine Krokodilsafari oder Surf Lessons. Im Bad hat einen Haken oder etwas zum Handtuch aufhängen gefehlt!
• Magdalena (5/5): Za dané peníze adekvátní místo k pobytu ve skvělé lokaci. - Umístění je skvělé a ubytování poskytuje různé aktivity - ice baths, jógu.. :) Hostitel byl přes WhatsUp proaktivní a zajímal se o náš pobyt. Když jsme přijeli, dveře od našeho pokoje byly v opravě.. což je v pořádku… To se stane:) hostitel byl milý avšak celý pobyt pokoj smrděl, bylo v něm nedýchatelno.. proto tak nízké hodnocení přestože mě to mrzí. Zaměstatnci byli hodně zmatení, když jsme si přes WhatsUp domluvili snídani, nikdo o ní nevěděl a dostali jsme ji až o hodinu později, což trochu zkomplikovalo náš odjezd.

• Berta (10/5): Todo perfecto! - Desde el principio todo perfecto. Enseguida nada mas llegar tenían nuestra habitación preparada. La habitación espaciosa y el baño también. Todo muy limpio. La cama cómoda. Y el lugar tiene mucho encanto. Muy bonito y están ampliando para tener zona de tomar algo, yoga, piscina de hielo, etc. sin duda repetiría. Me hicieron sentir como en casa. Chamee super atento por la mañana nos trajo unos cocos y siempre atento de que todo estuviera bien. El y su perrita Bella son un encanto. He estado tan bien que me daba pena irme.

• Larissa (7/5): - De locatie was perfect. Dit bij het strand, winkeltjes en restaurantjes maar het was toch stil. Gastheer was continue goed bereikbaar en had voor ons een leuke snorkeltour geregeld. Het matras was erg dun en leek zijn beste tijd te hebben gehad. We mistten een klamboe voor de muggen (aangezien er geen hoor voor de ramen zat). En de douche was koud en werd niet warm. We hebben hierdoor elke dag koud moeten douchen.

• Bethany (10/5): Perfect location with the kindest host. - My husband and I loved staying at Bananas Mirissa, the location is perfect, it’s on the main road but tucked away from any noise so it was really peaceful but super easy to walk to the beach and to any shops/cafes around. The room was really comfortable, lots of space, a lovely little balcony area and the place had everything you need for a short stay. The host was beyond kind, friendly and helpful, we really recommend this place.

The room was so humid with a third of the surface of the pillow covered with grey moisture, only ventilation was the front door and window so we had to leave the window open when we were not there with the fan turned on so when coming back we could stand to sleep. Sheets were dirty with huge stains of 40 to 50 cm wide, no hot shower,
• Randy (10/5): Exceptional - Had an event near Mirissa, so I found a quick place with easy access to the beach and my location. The owner, Chamee, was very supportive and friendly. It was worth the money and a calm place, even though it's located near the town.

• Alice (7/5): Good value for money - Nice little property with convenient access to the main road and beach. Lovely birds, animals and plants surrounding it. Really kind and helpful staff. Good value for money. Nice outdoor seating especially in the garden - shame we couldn’t use this as it was raining! The rooms have no ventilation and due to the damp issue, they smell very strongly of damp. Without aircon, in the high humidity they got very stuffy. There was some dirt in the bathroom and the tiles need a refresh. This could easily be solved by putting netting on the windows to enable them to be opened without mosquitos coming in, or giving guests mosquito nets at night. No hot water but not a major issue in the warm weather.
• Preksha (4/5): Disappointing - It’s in a great location and very reasonably priced Not very clean, the sheets were stained and look like run down and dirty. The mirror in the bathroom wasn’t even wiped clean and had all stains from water splashed. The host did change the sheets and towel after we asked for it but I think clean sheets and towels are the basics a stay should offer in the first place.

However, the room had smell of humidity, you can feel your body and clothes getting sticky because of it, the toilet doesn’t have hot water to shower, and plus when I woke up in the morning I didn’t have water at all.

Our room upstairs had no AC but the fan worked well, great location close to everything, nice and green yard The shower pressure was very low and no hot water (not that we really would need that in Mirissa but good to know)
• Egle (9/5): Superb - Amazing location, welcoming staff, nice view from the room The only thing which is needed to be fixed asap is air conditioner as in that heat its not possible to stay in the room during the day :( the fan does not help at all, there are no windows in the room, only panoramic doors, but you will not sit in the room with open doors all the time :(

• Paige (8/5): Very good - Great location. 5 minute walk to the beach. Room is ok, but great for what you are paying. Basic but everything that you need. Host is incredible, went above and beyond, and was so helpful. Bugs in the room, but owner does have insect repellent for the rooms. However this can’t really be helped so not a reflect on the owner. Showers are cold, and low pressure, but seems like that’s a standard over Sri Lanka. No a/c in room, only a ceiling fan, so can get very hot. But it is budget accommodation so can’t really complain!!

Location is incredible, set back from the main road so it is quiet but within minutes you can access bars, restaurants and the beach! Staff are lovely and really helpful. HOT WATER AND GOOD WIFI! A rarity we have found in Sri Lanka when staying in cheaper places. Nothing!
