Guest Reviews
- Alessandra (8/5): - L'appartamento è molto carino, pulito e profumato. Abbiamo apprezzato molto la temperatura fresca (grazie all'aria condizionata accesa prima del nostro arrivo) viste le caldissime temperature esterne. Le scale strette e buie (ma eravamo preparate)
- Guest (10/5): - Aircon Shower
- Paola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (7/5): Just get the power sorted and it is a suitable place to stay. - Clean plenty of room and 2 bathrooms Smart TV and good location. Unfortunately the power kept cutting out couldn’t use the kettle just to make a cup of tea. When we turned up the aircon it also tripped. Please also be aware that there is no lift so not suitable if you have a heavy suitcase.
- James (7/5): A reasonably big, clean apartment. - A large clean apartment equipped with most of the things you need for a short stay. The dim, narrow, four flights of stairs to reach the apartment. Nowhere in the information about the apartment does it mention it is on the fourth floor. The stairs are narrow, slippery and very dark.
- Marie (3/5): "Pain in the ass" - The nearby restaurants and places of interest. Where to begin...
Major concern - the 49 steps in total darkness until halfway up with loose handrails to get to the apartment - NO MENTION OF THIS IN THE DESCRIPTION. DO NOT BOOK IF YOU HAVE LIMITED MOBILITY!
Woken at 4am on both Saturday and Sunday morning by people leaving the nightclub down the road. No double glazing at the front of the property and windows that didn't close properly. We bought earplugs so we could sleep!
No curtains in the bedroom, shutters partially blocked the light, but not fully.
No tea or biscuits and limited coffee (4 pods for a 7 night stay for a family)
No tea towels - only 1 roll of kitchen roll again for a 7 night stay.
No bath mats in either bathroom.
Only one bath towel and one hand towel each for a 7 night stay (not changed)
Only one shower can run at a time for hot water.
Washing machine but no means of drying the washing; no pegs or clothes airer.
If using the sofa bed, you will be woken by light coming in at sunrise through a window in the roof that has no blind.
The host didn't give us any information on arrival, we were met by a lady with minimal communication skills.
Apart from all this, which the majority could be addressed (apart from the 49 stairs) the apartment appears to be recently renovated and has loads of potential.
So if you're super-fit, like clubbing and can see in the dark, it's ideal!
- Paul (7/5): Good - very noisy outside the street below our windows especially in the evening before bed and morning. the shutters were broken and the place needs a good paint inside the apartment.
- Tony (8/5): Lovely apartment close to the historic centre - Lovely flat with two bathrooms and two bedrooms…all the amenities you need for an enjoyable stay The flat is on the top of the building with no lift…the stairs up are very steep and lifting two 20kg suitcases up there was quite draining
- Ondrej (9/5): Superb - Palazzuolo Home is a nice, spacious and clean apartment. It has a perfect location with many nearby restaurants and in walking distance to the Duomo and museums. The apartment is sufficiently equipped, although we missed a few non-essential details (dish towels, cereal bowls, dishwasher tabs). It has fast and reliable internet WiFi connection. It has 2 bathrooms, one accessible through the bedroom and one from the entrance hall. This bathroom is rather small but still ok to use unless someone is really big. The house and the neighborhood are quiet. The place is not convenient for someone with difficulties to climb the stairs - it is on the 4th floor with narrow and steep stairs.
We enjoyed our stay in Palazzuolo Home.
- Ievgen (1/5): Bad - The property is newly renovated. When we figured out that one bed linen is missing, we called the host asking to bring it. He said no way, sorry. That was really confusing situation especially because the idea to rent this apartment was to have three separate beds for three adults. So, I was forced to sleep in a bed with my 33 year old son. Thanks host for the comfort.
- Elmer (6/5): Pleasant - The stairs
- Anna (5/5): Passable - Excellent location for railway station. Spotlessly clean apartment. There was a lack of basic communication with the host. On arrival at the address there where 8 separate apartments to choose from. We had to phone the stand-in host to find out which one was ours. The cleaner who let us in seemed only interested in collecting the local tax charge and hadn't made up all the beds. Only toiletries provided were hand soap and previous occupants' shampoo.
Couldn't access the master bedroom on the first evening as door lock had broken. The stand-in host apologised that he couldn't help until the next morning so I had to sleep on the couch!
- Brenda (9/5): Lovely spacious apartment in fabulous location - Fabulous location. A short stroll to historic sites and many restaurants and cafes minutes away. Also very close to train station.
Very clean, spacious, comfortable accommodation with all the facilities we needed.
Friendly and helpful host provided tips on activities for kids. Upstairs bedroom was quite warm at night due to 36 degrees temps outside.
Lots of stairs when carrying heavy bags.
- Kimmy (10/5): Exceptional - Location and early check in The 49 stairs to our apartment after a full day of walking.
- Aixa (9/5): Centric place in Florence - Looks like new all the place, clean and next to the Florence attractions, all my family enjoyed comfortable beds and spaces. Close to the station SMR, so easily you can reach the place walking. The access facility's stairs, was complicated to up by there with luggage.
- Dawn (10/5): Great location, light and airy place, perfect as a base for a few days in Florence. - Great location near train/bus stations and for a base to see town. Several flights of narrow stairs up to apartment, so taking bags up is a bit of a mare, but once you’re in it’s light and airy with everything you need.
Look out for tiny shops with independent makers and artists on the street and in surrounding streets, including shoe maker, gilt framers, ceramic restorer, leather wallet makers to the top designers and celebs. Stairs🥴
- Gloria (6/5): OK for a one night stay - Stairs .. unit in top floor. Air conditioning not sufficient.
- Carolina (9/5): Amazing Stay in the Center of Florence - Great apartment, fully equipped in a walkable distance to the center of Florence. We had everything we needed in the apartment that was cozy and clean. Oscar is a great host and recommend couple of amazing places around to visit. I recommend this stay! Let them know in advance if you plan to use the 2nd bedroom.
- Marta (9/5): Great place to stay in Firenza - The appartment was big and confortable with everything you need to spend some days in the city. Just a 15minute walk from the city center in a quiet street. Close to nice restaurants, caffés and a supermarket. Oscar was the nicest host, always available and giving us such good tips and suggestions. We had a great experience in Firenze! The only problem was the sound isolation of the house which could be better. Sometimes the sound of the street made it a bit harder for us to rest, nothing major though.
- Ocdc (10/5): The Perfect Apartment For A Visit In Florence! - Oscar (the host) was absolutely amazing. Communicate was great, with personal WhatsApp number which was answered promptly. So easy to find the property and a great welcome from the host. I'd like to add that in Italy it is not common to have lifts in these beautiful ancient properties and so climbing the stairs to the top floor is expected. Very grateful this is a top floor apartment as people above can be noisy in apartments in Florence due to lack of sound proofing. This apartment was very quiet and peaceful, a beautiful escape from the bustling streets of Florence when you need it.
The apartment itself is renovated to a high spec and is very spacious. Gorgeous automated roof window with shutter made a real difference. Lovely showers, full kitchen including all the utensils etc. Even a kettle which is not common in Italy. Great walk in wardrobe. The whole place felt like a home from home. Aircon a major plus although we didn't need it.
Parking and driving in the city is a nightmare (we lived here for a few years) and so many people and apartments do not have cars so parking is non-existent unless you pay dearly. Luckily this has a great location close to the main train and tram station. It is in a quieter part of the city with is nice, but still so close to everything by foot.
Will definitely be making this our go to apartment as we visit Florence twice a year and this, so far, is the best one we have found. Nothing! Fabulous!
(Although we do like an outdoor space which this doesn't have, however, we were spoilt as our apartment when we lived here had a roof terrace, which is quite rare.)
- Stella (10/5): Great Stay - The close proximity to the train station which makes it convenient to go anywhere. There are Chinese food restaurants, Japanese food restaurant if you're not used to Italian food like my mother. Only the stairway up in the building which is narrow and dark. But other than that I love the apartment.
- Sujay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheila (8/5): Very good -
- Delphine (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice flat newlu refurbished located near the center. AC very appreciated during August…our host gave us a lot of recommandations for nice places to visit in Firenze ! Nothing
- Bongjin (10/5): Exceptional - The location of the hotel is excellent, and the room condition is great. The staff provided a prompt response whenever I had any inquiries.
- Lyubomir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zeeshan (8/5): Very good -
- William (10/5): We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay, the property and host cannot be faulted - Oscar had provided a delicious continental breakfast which was already on the property when we arrived.
The property is situated about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the train station and is within minutes from all the attractions, including the Duomo, Piazza Santa Croce, Uffizzi Museum, Ponte Vecchio and the famous leather markets and much much more. Nothing, it was a very comfortable stay. Oscar has thought of every possible comfort and need for his guests.
- Ashok (10/5): Peaceful andf comfortable. - Great breakfast at nearby plush cafe and within a 10-minute walking distance to the Duomo. The price was a bit high as compared to similar properties.
- Alexey (9/5): Best value for money - Great location, hospitality An elevator absence so you need to “climb” to 3d floor with luggage
