Guest Reviews
- Naomi (1/5): Avoid at all costs. - Nothing Don’t be fooled into thinking this is near the Arena. It is not. It’s a flat in a run down block. Dirty with unusable appliances and broken furniture. Not properly cleaned, old drinks bottles left from previous occupants. Poor / no communication from the owner. Took 2 months to get my deposit back, and she clearly intended on keeping the deposit if I hadn’t repeatedly chased for it.
- Brian (1/5): BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE. - The apartment was in a good location & walking distance (10 minutes to AO Arena Very poorly maintained property , headboard hanging off of the bed , badly stained carpets , stain on bedclothes , shower tray filled with water as not draining properly.
If you are happy to wait for over a month to get your damage deposit back , then thisis the place for you , despite numerous messages and the property agreeing that I will get the full refund of £200 to this day I am still waiting and they are no longer answeing my messages so will probably be contacting trading standards for breach of contract and also go to the small claims court to get my money back .
- jo-Anne (2/5): Awful, worse place I stayed in!! Then had to keep asking for the deposit back, only got it when I put a formal complaint - It was near where we were going It smelt damp, carpets filthy, toilet broken, shower water didn’t run away properly, towels stunk, curtains stained
- Damian.89 (8/5): -
- Katie (8/5): - Nice location, perfect for 4 people. Spacious with a balcony and nicely decorated. We only got the information regarding the exact building and where to get the keys the day of. I have not yet received my deposit back and I stayed 5 days ago.
- Elizabeth (5/5): Our stay was better than anticipated for reasons unrelated to the accommodation. - Location of property was good for our purposes.
Fortunately there was somewhere for us to eat which turned out to be a real bonus (only recently opened); the owners were extremely helpful, and hospitable, with great food on offer - ‘Sofia Pattiserie’. No facilities to make a drink, 2 bedrooms and bathrooms only.
No information in the property about where to eat…
Still waiting for return of security deposit after booking 14 December.
- Narima (10/5): - It was very comfortable
- lisa (10/5): -
- David (5/5): -
- Charlotte (9/5): Great location, comfortable clean and great value for money. - Fantastic location. Great value for money. Weak water pressure. Some fixtures were damaged in bathrooms.
- Lucy (1/5): Wanted £200 'deposit' to be paid outside of booking.com - Pushy to get us to stay and pay the deposit Wanted £200 'deposit' to be paid outside of booking.com
- Jayne (10/5): Had the best time, great location to the arena - Close proximity to the arena Needed more lights in the kitchen as several bulbs not working, so quite dark, carpet in ensuite bedroom quite dirty.
- Kathryn (7/5): Very enjoyable we love Manchester - The apartment was clean and cosy the beds were very comfortable. The apartment was very close to the venue where we
we were going that evening. Having to walk to find a local shop to collect the keys as not knowing the area at all but we did manage to get more directions from a local person. We decided to save time by buying our dinner to cook at the apartment but the oven microwave & hob didn't work. So back out to the local supermarket for bread & cheese for a sandwich at 75 years old it was not really what I wanted for dinner. Also the apartment is for 2/3 people but only has one dinner plate in the kitchen?
- Dave (9/5): Nice stay in the apartment. Quiet area good night sleep. Would definitely stay again if issues were resolved - It was warm feel to it. Very clean and comfortable. Great location and easy key pickup
Lovely kitchen and bathroooms Both bedrooms only had 1 curtain in each which doesn’t even cover the whole window.
Dining area curtains not long enough so didn’t cover window
My fiancée wanted a bubbly bath but there was no plug
Not one hand towel between 3 of us. Only bath towel each
- AshleighJay (9/5): - Good location, good amenities, comfortable stay. Communication with owners was quite last minute which added some stress but was all relatively straightforward once information was received.
- Claire (10/5): Great apartment in a central location near to Victoria, - Lovely and clean, easy to find and comfortable apartment Nothing
- Adam (1/5): Will steal your deposit and ignore you - Do not book this apartment, they will take a £200 damage deposit from you, 4 weeks later and this has not been returned. Apartment was left in a perfect condition after leaving. Multiple attempts to contact property have been ignored
- Lewis (10/5): Fantastic place, great location and super clean and homely. - Lovely apartment the bath was really cool. Nothing.
- Tim (8/5): Very comfortable and well designed flat perfect for a short stay in the city, - Very good location and stylish well priced urban apartment. Definitely recommended for a city break Communication with host seemed fairly last minute prior to the check in but everything actually went very smoothy,
- Rosemary Little (10/5): Good location, lovely place to stay - Everything about this apartment is fabulous, very clean and spacious and well equipped with everything ❤️ Nothing to dislike. Fabulous apartment.
- Russell (9/5): - The apartment was great and perfect for our group.
It was very clean and in a great location, the spec of the bathrooms was very good. Missing some bits in the kitchen like tea towels to help dry items we had used. Also, the freezer needs defrosting as we couldn't get anything in it.
Only other thing was the communication from the owner, I was waiting until the night before check in to get the details of how to get the keys etc.
- Kerry (4/5): -
- Saba (8/5): Very good -
- Choong (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (6/5): A bit of TLC and care and this property could be great! - Good loaction, large apartment, plenty of room Curtains, there was one single curtain in each room (not a pair) that did not cover the window as or block any light the curtain in the livingroom was too short for the window, the property would benefit from blinds to block out the light in the morning.
No hairdryer and only 1 toilet roll left in each toilet.
The freezer was completely frozen unable to open any of the drawers.
Light not working in the main bedroom (needs new bulb).
Not enough towels 4 small towels between 5 of us.
Property could do with a deep clean, especially the carpet and skirting boards.
- Nina (3/5): Go elsewhere!! It’s terrible !! - Kitchen ok. Awful apartment. Carpet stained. Chairs all ripped and the bedding was awful. Paper thin horrible curtains. Mattress on the floor in the lounge!!!! . Broken lamps. Freezer frozen so couldn’t use. Not enough plates and glasses. Pick up box in a seedy men’s club 5 minute walk. Very limited street parking . Not the flat as on the pictures
- Louise (6/5): Pleasant - N/A Parking in the area
- Aleksandra (10/5): Exceptional - This was our first time in Manchester, we came to see a concert at Manchester Arena. It was so conveniently located for this but it is also quite quiet, away from the roads. So we got a nice peaceful sleep too. Everything is accurately described in the listing. It is clean and in good maintenance. The balcony is also a great bonus. We would happily stay again.
- Ibrahim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great time in this comfortable, clean and gorgeous apartment. It’s in an ideal location for the Arena and we were able to visit everything around Manchester City centre on foot. We definitely plan to visit again in the future and highly recommend.
- Michele (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ravi (10/5): Exceptional - A very comfortable and well situated apartment for exploring Manchester but whilst still being very convenient for the city centre, it did not have the noise and bustle of being right in the centre. Everything was so good and clean, we couldn’t fault it and would happily live here permanently. You can’t go straight to the location given on booking com . You have to get in touch with the hosts on their WhatsApp first to send your IDs etc. It wasn’t a problem but it just took a bit longer to check in.
- Mollie (7/5): It was nice. - A few things were broken/ didn’t fit that were needed like plug or the blinds, one of the showers was fixed with foil. Picking up keys was a little bit of hassle. Communication wasn’t always easy. It was comfortable and deposit came back quite quickly.
- Sue (6/5): Good for the money - Size of the property
Lift and access
Kitchen
Fan
Hairdryer etc Some mould in bathroom
Bedding is old
Bed on floor in living room made moving around difficult
Needs decorating in places
- Vicki (7/5): Good -
- Deborah (7/5): Good location , ok for 1 night - Location In need of deep clean and some TLC
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- Nathaniel (3/5): Not great for families at all - The location is very handy for AO Arena and it was quiet at night. The hosts were also quick to respond to messages. Having to share ID over WhatsApp is not good and the whole experience made it feel very shady - so much so that I requested a copy of their data policy. The key pickup is in a nearby snooker hall, not great with young kids. The apartment was grubby and in need of some serious TLC.
- Beilby (10/5): Great stay in the end! - Very comfortable, clean apartment. Good price and location. The miscommunication and then lack of communication from the host caused unnecessary worry and stress
- Barker (7/5): Good - close to A.O arena and city centre.
easy check in and out.
cheap car parking. .
- Louise (10/5): Great location - Great location for AO arena and city centre would definitely use again only a few minutes walk away with places to eat nearby. Great facilities had everything we needed for our families stay and was spotlessly clean.
- Dimitrios (7/5): Good -
- Joanna (7/5): Good -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Great time with family - Location
It was very homely N/a
- Terry (10/5): Very nice stay, lovely apartment and was exactly what we were after. - Like how easy and straight forward picking up and dropping off keys were, instructions on the day were very easy to understand and spot on. Cleanliness of the apartment was fantastic, Would stay here again.
- Joanna (8/5): Very good -
- Suzanne (8/5): Very good - Lovely modern apartment, great location. The blinds in the lounge were broken so the person sleeping in the lounge area got woken early by daylight.
Kitchen was great just could have done with a couple of little extras, such as kitchen roll and wine glasses. Otherwise great, spacious modern apartment.
- Joanna (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location for Manchester Arena
Deposit was refunded the day after.
Excellent value for money
- Lindsay (10/5): Lovely apartment very modern, clean and had all the facilities you need ;) - Lovely modern clean and fresh Nothing
- Emma (9/5): Superb - Lovely apartment in centre Nothing all was good
- Lee (1/5): Bad -
- Lewis (8/5): great apartment, host easy to contact, the key/deposit a bit of a annoyance but overall was great - The deposit taking 2 weeks to be returned
- Vicky (7/5): Nice enough place for a day or 2. Communications from the owner weren't great. - Location is good and theres a car park really close. Spacious apartment. Clean and tidy. Terrible communication from the owner who left it till the day before our visit to tell us where to send id and security deposit details despite numerous attempts to contact them prior. No discussion about how to get the deposit back. Broken futin laid out in the luving room. No direction in where to leave to key on exit until after we left so had to guess.
- Lucy (8/5): Very enjoyable, comfortable, homely and safe. Would definitely stay again. - The photos on the page do not do the actual apartment justice, it is very comfortable, well kept and the bathrooms in particular were beautiful and much more spacious than it appears.
It was exceptionally clean all over and the facilities were more than you could ask for.
We felt very safe at all times, even around the apartment later on in the evening. It’s a short walk from the arena and was perfect to stay after a concert.
The host was very accommodating, responded quickly whilst we were at the apartment and provided us a second set of keys when we asked I couldn’t have asked for anymore whilst we were there. I must warn that the 3rd bed is quite small and uncomfortable but perfectly fine for a one or 2 night stay. However, I do think this apartment was more suited to 4 / 5 people for a short stay as we were scared that 2 people on the small bed was going to break.
I did feel like I was mithering for my deposit back slightly, a little bit more communication on that regard would have been slightly more reassuring. However, the contact we did have with the host was very pleasant, they were very polite at all points and very helpful. I would be happy to stay in this apartment again as it’s brilliant for the price, but the deposit taking 14 days to be returned is slightly inconvenient - however I’d be more comfortable second time round as I now know that it does get returned and it’s only for people abusing the rules as to why they have to take this measure.
- Karen (10/5): Great apartment, great location - Very well equipped and perfect for our stay
- Sally (10/5): Splendid Accommodation - The politeness of the person I communicated with. The accommodation was clean, spacious and comfortable. The location was exceptional. There wasn't anything not to like. The very small query we had was dealt with efficiently and quickly.
- Michell (9/5): Superb - The apartment was close to the train station and the arena. It was clean and had everything you could want to a high standard. The ensuite was modern, and the bath was a pleasant surprise in the main bathroom Definitely would look to book again and stay for longer than the one night. Could benefit from dark or black out curtains.
- Rachel (7/5): Good -
- Mark (8/5): Very enjoyable - Ideal location for the arena Said it slept 6 but the futon bed in front room wasn’t suitable for 2 people & very uncomfortable
- Kay (8/5): It was a great night away catching up with my friend. - Lovely large apartment with everything you needed. Nice and quiet and close to the city centre. The communication with the property manager! I was starting to get worried as they left it very late to give any instructions.
- Jenna (7/5): I actually booked this apartment by accident- it was the wrong side of Manchester so requested a refund. This was refuse - Very central, clean and spacious. The manager is obviously not on site or even in Manchester (I assume), all contact is through WhatsApp so if you’re not familiar with this that could be confusing. The list of rules is excessive and the £200 deposit is slightly inconvenient. Picking up the keys from an alternate location was fine for us but not ideal for everyone.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Vicky (7/5): good value for money. - Liked view from balcony and lovely bathroom. Uncomfortable sofa bed, ok for one night though and cover was to too small for 2 people. Also did not like collecting keys from snooker club. otherwise fab stay.
- Kelly (1/5): Terrblie - location Terrible service from hosts, unable to be contacted via phone call. very slow at responding to WhatsApp messages, they require a £200 damages deposit which has to be paid via bank transfer, and extremely slow at getting this back, return of the deposit was over the 14 days. The location to collect the key for the property is in a very rough snooker centre, felt very uncomfortable and uneasy walking into the venue to collect the key.
The property- entrance hall floor in the apartment was sticky, the en-suite bathroom door does not shut, the shower isn’t attached to the wall, paint is falling off the ceilings, beds are very uncomfortable mattress’s in both bedrooms are to big for the bed so therefore hang off the bed, the futon bed in the living room again is extremely uncomfortable, a thin foam mattress on wooden slats. Overall a very poor experience and expensive for what it is. Would not recommend this property.
- Aseefa (9/5): Superb - The owner was very accommodating to my visual impairment. Very polite and helpful staff, very patient and friendly too. The apartment was clean and nice and quiet for most of the stay. Corridors are echoey and it was a hit disruptive at 2am. But not overly so. There was almost everything we needed im the kitchen. The locations great, shops are a short walk away. I would love to stay again, and so would my friend! Definitely coming back. No scissors and everything in kitchen is quite high... if you're over 5ft 4 you'll be okay. Maybe have signs in the halls to remind guests to stay quiet in the corridors so not to disturb other guests? For the most part it was nice and peaceful so not a big deal.
- Carolyn (10/5): Exceptional - Location cleanliness Delayed communication
- Previtali (8/5): Very good -
- Jayne (9/5): Superb - Couldn't use the shower in the ensuite as the shower head fixture was missing
- Mpumelelo (9/5): Superb -
- Carina (7/5): Good for one night - Very spacious, lots of room for three of us. Two bathrooms and bedrooms. Good location for what we needed and fine for a one night stay. Deposit returned quickly after stay. A few small things. Crockery needed re washing before using. The blinds in the living room are sparse and so if sleeping in there on the futon bed may not be appropriate. Communication lacked prior to stay, we heard nothing until having to message the hosts ourselves the day before travelling. This caused a fair amount of unnecessary stress. If these things would be improved, would stay again if in the area.
- Zi (8/5): Very good -
- Fail (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (1/5): Non-existent property and Booking.com don't care. - This apartment did not exist. We spent 90 minutes trying to locate it. Local businesses, taxi drivers, local people had never heard of it and when I contacted staff at the apartment via WhatsApp they made no effort to help but instead demanded a deposit for £200, stating they would give me directions when I had paid.
I shall be reporting this to the police and Trading Standards.
I am seeking a full refund but Booking.com have been most unhelpful and I will be including this in my complaint. Booking.com's non-existent Customer services.
- Margarita (9/5): Superb -
- Kathrine (8/5): Good sized apartment for a group of friends on a weekend break - Great little apartment, clean, secure, nicely decorated and lovely bathrooms. Really good size for a group with a full size bathroom and full sized ensuite. Two double rooms and then a futon in the living room, balcony and good kitchen. Really good location near Victoria Station and the Arena with a short walk to the centre and northern quarter. Deposit returned quickly and quick responses from staff. I would recommend this apartment for a family/a group of friends. Good check out and check in times. Key pick up is slightly awkward as it's from a snooker club around a 5 minute walk away from the apartment but staff in there were friendly and it was quick to pick up. Only one key even though the apartment sleeps 6 people which can be limiting. The futon in the living room is small for two people and not very comfortable. Almost too much information/messages on the lead up to checking in, lots of rules and steps to check in (ID's needed, deposit to be paid, codes for key pick up etc) which I understand why they've been put in place as it's an apartment in a residential building but was a bit overwhelming - could definitely be streamlined.
- Damian (10/5): Great place to stay. - Great location for central Manchester and AO Arena. Answered my many questions prior to visit and we weren’t disappointed. Clean, warm, comfortable and exactly what we needed. Would recommend and go again next time we are in Manchester. Five stars. Nothing
- David (7/5): Good - Lovely apartment, very spacious beds were super comfortable Lack of toilet rolls would have been good to know to bring our own. Also, an iron would be a great addition
- East (9/5): Great! -
- Jayne (7/5): Could do with updating - Was very close to AO arena Manchester, 5mins walk which we were going to. The apartment was a bit tired, could do with a lick of paint, carpet in lounge had several stains, there was cling film over the smoke detector, which I removed after advising them about this via WhatsApp.
Also one of the light bulbs in lounge was constantly flickering, which again I removed, after advising them I was going to do so.
Kitchen facilities were good.
- Katrina (7/5): Provide full information prior to booking - Location and appartment I wasn't aware that I would need to pick the apartment key up from a snooker hall??? Otherwise I wouldn't have booked it.
4 females (2 female teens) walking into Snooker Hall, around drunk men having to navigate a bar and teens being hit on by the men in there.. offering to buy them shots of alcohol!!! Was not impressed.
The instructions for the property were detailed but very overwhelming.
- Sophie (8/5): Excellent location, very clean and better than described - Excellent location near the arena but we were at an event in a different location and we were minutes away!
Easy key collection from the snooker club and lots of parking nearby….
Apartment was so clean and tidy and wasn’t what I was expecting at all…. The pictures really don’t do this apartment justice it’s really lovely and the main bathroom is gorgeous!
Has all the kitchen amenities you need and finally somewhere that provides washing up liquid/ dishwasher tablets etc which is a massive tick for me.
- Svetlana (9/5): Superb - We liked this apartment! Everything was clean and comfortable The price is pretty high!
- Kerry (7/5): Ok, but lots of rules to follow - It was clean, modern and in an ok location for the city centre being near the AO and Victoria station. The rules and regulations from the owner are a bit much. Paying upfront is fine, but then wanting a £200 deposit on top is a bit much. Then they want photo ID.. The snooker club that you have to pick the key up from was very intimidating to walk into as a woman..the clientele were very dubious and rude to my friends who were waiting whilst I went inside.
Such a shame as it's a nice place to stay.
- Trevor (8/5): Very good - Great location for city centre and arena Just need new blinds for the living room for anyone sleeping on the sofa bed.
- Fiona (9/5): Superb -
- Elicia (8/5): Very good -
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Very good - It was all pretty OK, roomy and well-equiped It was incredibly stressful that (despite messages via Booking.com) I heard nothing about the precise location of the apartment and the arrangements for collecting the keys until the day of travel. Just a message acknowledging the reservation and stating that further information would be sent by xx hours on the day of arrival would have been comforting. As it was, I received this information only when my flight to Manchester was about to take off, too late to inform my traveling partners (on different flights from different places). This really needs to be sorted.
Some refreshment of the apartment would not go amiss. The en-suite shower room is looking tired and there is no wall holder for the shower head, flaking paint on the ceiling and no plug in the wash-basin. A few light bulbs need replacing. The blinds in the living room have given up the will to live. The light in the extractor fan didn’t work and we couldn’t work out how to use the microwave (seems to be dead). There are also various stains (water stains from previous minor floods?) on some of the carpeting. This is not major stuff, but some care and attention would greatly enhance the experience of staying there.
Having said all this, I would consider staying there again if the stress issue mentioned above were to be resolved.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judy (5/5): very convenient for AO Arena - Having to go into the snooker club to collect the keys late at night - not ideal for a woman to have to do on her own!
In the apartment:
broken shower head left dangling with no wall securing and ceiling paint flaking off the en-suite bathroom
downlighter fallen out in main bathroom
grey towel covered in bleach marks
dirty towels and cleaning cloths left in chest of drawers in second bedroom
very flimsy curtains in both bedrooms
a spare double and very stained mattress left propped up in the main bedroom
- Ryan (8/5): Very good - Clean and tidy Location
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amy (7/5): Some small issues and poor communication but overall had a good stay. - Good location, nice bathroom and very clean. Well equipped with shower gel and soap. Kitchen had everything you needed. Security deposit was returned very quickly. We were due to check in at 3pm, after chasing for the location to collect the keys (a snooker bar opposite) we were finally sent these about 2:45 which meant that we were stood around with our luggage just waiting in the centre of Manchester.
When we arrived the cleaner was still present which was ok and I understand that delays can happen. Although, we were advised by staff that the cleaner would be finished in 30 minutes however by the time she left it was closer to 4:30pm which ate into our time in the apartment.
The blinds in the living room do not cover the whole window so whoever is sleeping in there will be awoken by the daylight very early. Seems like an easy fix so hopefully will be sorted.
We also were only given one roll of toilet roll for 2 days for 6 people which was not enough. The overall communication with staff is difficult and we were waiting hours for a response on several occasions. Also feel like we should have been contacted about the cleaner beforehand or offered a later check out time due to the delays.
We would happily stay again if these small issues were improved although I wouldn’t recommend sleeping on the futon, the sofa is far more comfortable.
- Alison (7/5): Good - The apartment was very clean good size and the bedrooms of a good size and the balcony was a bonus . The bathrooms are well equipped and the water pressure and hot water were very good . Kitchen was well equipped and was all fully functioning . Communal areas of the apartments were clean and felt safe . I was initially dubious about picking keys up from the key nest at the Snooker Centre but that was very easy - however it is a walk from the accommodation so earlier advance notice of this arrangement would have been better. Communication between myself /booking.com/hosts was complicated and felt me feeling anxious . Wasn't sure who i was supposed to be telling by what method (mail, Whatsapp, text etc) .The hosts telephone number only worked as Whatsapp not voice (but its doesn't say that ). The sleeping arrangement for 5 people was 1 person on very small futon in the living room which wasn't great and blinds in living room wouldn't close and people in apartments directly across can see straight into the living room - so very exposed. Also needs better window covering in the bedroom .
- Liz (10/5): Excellent communication prior to arriving. Apartment was excellent. Would definitely stay again -
- Vivian (10/5): Lovely 1 night stay should have made it longer - Lovely well kept property not far from AO arena and Manchester Victoria station and the shops 3 of us stayed and we all had a bed which was great plus 2 bathrooms again great would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit Manchester for a few days 😃 Loved it all no issues.
- Nikola (1/5): Stressful 🤯 - Nothing because we didn’t go! The fact that there was a phone number to call for the manager that was not recognised and the other number that came through in a message the day before was in a language we didn’t understand asking for £200 damages deposit to be transferred into a completely different bank account was unnerving. We couldn’t speak to anyone with regards to this and felt like this was a complete con as the money was to be requested back later by sending bank details to a different number. The pick up place was a snooker hall up the road and on a message we were informed these people knew nothing about the property and for information we had to get in touch via messenger or booking.com. Still no reply from the morning we were supposed to be staying and that’s two days later! Very frustrating and disappointing so to ensure we had a room for the night without we booked a Premier Inn. I agree it does state a damages fee but would you pay an extra £200 into a separate bank account the day of staying without been able to contact anyone??? All in all a very expensive stay in Manchester and a lot of unnecessary stress!!!!Due to this I would not recommend.
