Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): -
- Maryam (9/5): So cosy - Everything.
Very comfy beds and loved the decor and location near the church. Just a minor- would have been nice to wash some clothes but there was no washing machine.
I descaled the kettle myself, I think if this could be done before each guest stays that would be better.
- Denise (10/5): - Great location, beautifully furnished. Nil
- Lousich (10/5): Our stay was so relaxing. Lovely little place with character and maintained to a high standard. The area is so lovely. W - The property is so cosy and beautiful, we really enjoyed our short time there. It’s very clean and comfortable. The owners have thoughtful attention to detail. We stayed in the first night, cooked and played scrabble. Walking distance to Co Op, park, playground, Rover Ouse, and the White Hart pub. I can’t fault it.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Clean, comfortable and cozy. We loved this property - The house was really cozy and comfortable. Thoughtfully kitted out; the fans in the bedrooms were very appreciated given the recent hot weather.
Lovely location, easy to park and good cafe and pubs within easy walking distance.
- Alan (7/5): Good location but property could do with a little more detail to attention - Location was good Lack of information in the property eg television and induction hob information, only 2 garden chairs garden scruffy could do with 1 more chair in living room
- Kay (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (8/5): Very good - Lovely little cottage. Great position
- Deirdre (4/5): Poor - Lovely house. Great location. The house was absolutely freezing. We tried to turn the heating in but didn't work. We also lit the fire each evening but that only heated the room it was in
- Sydney (8/5): Very quirky, comfortable stay. Good value for money - A few nice options to go out for dinner within walking distance, and a small park round the corner from the accommodation for some fresh air. The beds and sofa were really comfy and it was decorated nicely. Bathroom was lovely and clean, although the shower could maybe do with some drain unblocker. The thermostat didn't work, I messaged the host about this which they initially responded to, to confirm the location of the thermostat but then didn't respond again when I said it wasn't working. I managed to get a fire going to warm the house as wood and kindling had been provided but on this note no fire lighters or anything to get the fire going had been provided (luckily I have a wood burner at home so was able to be creative to get a fire going). Could also do with some more basics in the kitchen like milk, oil etc. and I couldn't locate any cereal bowls.
- Sylvia (10/5): Great stay. Internet worked (earlier comments say it didn't). Would stay again! Thanks. - Lovely cottage. Bed was so so comfy that I often didn't want to get up. Garden area was lovely to sit out in and the cottage had everything I needed. Nothing really.
- Danielle (9/5): Superb - Warm and welcoming, clean and tidy, easy access and great location to the lake and walkways. Neighbour ( no 9 ) bashing on the door telling me to move my car from out the front of his place, when there was no where else to park on the street, so i ended up having to move car around the corner to another street just so he could park there in a public area, but this isn't the properties fault.
Should have checked before cooking that the only condiment available was salt, but that wasn't really a drama.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Megan (8/5): Nice getaway very peaceful - The property was beautiful historic and clean From the amount your paying I would have expected some milk included
- Sarah (5/5): Disappointing - great location, quirky property, great shower Boiler not working properly (unfortunate) so very cold. Could do with better lighting up the side of the property as light doesn't come on until round the back. Very poorly equipped Kitchen, No non stick pan, no jug, no mixing bowl. Wanted to make scrambled eggs for breakfast and virtually impossible. Also, both radiators switched off upstairs and no instructions for how to use anything. No firelighters or paper for fire, also with no instructions.
- Bernadette (8/5): Loved this house just needed to be warmer down stairs! Cosy upstairs - Beautiful quirky home in a great location The wi fi and the tele!
- Viki (9/5): Superb - Lovely character cottage in a great location, very comfy beds. Parking on the drive a bit tight but no issue as street parking was available
- Neil (9/5): Superb - Heart of the town , got parking
- Oleksandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cherridan (8/5): Very good - Nice Historic building good views The tv didn't work and the wifi was shocking
- Melissa (10/5): Perfect, cosy stay. - Absolutely beautiful little cottage. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
It was so comfortable, clean and just simply perfect.
I rather enjoyed listening to the bells often.
I really wanted to make use of the fireplace but as there was no wood, I assumed it wasn’t allowed- next time I shall ask because I’d have loved to have it going.
It was close to shops but also tucked out of the way for a peaceful nights sleep.
The bed was so comfortable, the pillows were like laying my head on a fluffy cloud.
I loved all the little touches including the books to read as well. Nothing
- Scott (7/5): Cosy cottage - Lovely cosy clean cottage Memory foam mattress, internet was poor
- Jenny (8/5): We enjoyed our stay but would need to be assistant the WiFi - The cottage is lovely and comfortable, ideally located and has everything we needed. It’s the second time we’ve stayed at the cottage. The neighbours raised concerns about where we parked during our stay. We moved our cars to suit them but it gave us the impression that they didn’t really like us parking in their street! The Wi Fi was not working so we could access anything in the TV. Not ideal when we’d planned to watch a movie.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Duncan (8/5): Lovely comfortable cottage - Lovely historical cottage
Spotlessly clean
Comfortable beds
Fab shower No information pack
Internet is extremely slow
To watch TV, you have to use the Internet, so buffering continually
- David (8/5): Very good - The old quirkiness, very clean, comfortable though the bathroom floor is slightly disorientating! To be expected of a 17th century cottage. Shower doesn't drain efficiently
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional - The location was great, within walking distance for a lot of amenities The church bells practice
- Barbara (10/5): Perfect! - Quirky property, very clean and well appointed. Little extra touches such as bottle of wine on arrival, fresh flowers and nice toiletries. Comfy beds and the fans were really appreciated in the hot weather. Nice outdoor seating area. Lovely village with good pubs and a Chinese. On the direct bus route into Cambridge. Nothing. The church bells didn’t disturb us and we had all the windows open.
- Michael (10/5): Fabulous place to stay full of character - Fantastic property
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Everything!
- William (9/5): Superb - Cozy, clean cottage. Excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. Comfortable master bed. There was a lack of information concerning the facilities in the cottage, as well as restaurants, sites and shopping in the area.
- Debra (10/5): A lovely treat for my hubby’s birthday so enjoyed it all -
- Edward (8/5): Apart from the above, we had a brilliant time and would certainly come back to this property. - Uniqueness of the building because of its history. Very well restored building, excellent beds, good shower, well furnished and warm. Needs better provision of cooking equipment, microwaveable crockery and a rubbish bin in the bathroom.
- Harding (8/5): Relaxing stay. - Historic cottage. The church bells were very loud all through the night.
- John (7/5): Nice place to stay for a short break - Location was great Nothing really
- Fiona (9/5): Worth quitting the busyness of the daily drudge to visit this quaint and quirky find! - This wee house was quirky and quaint for with a great ambience. Everything is well presented and the house has a standard of cleanliness.
Appreciated the bottle of wine.
When an emergency happened with the kitchen tap the owner was only a call away which was a blessing. The house is close to a church, which is lovely but the bells ring all through the night, as a light sleeper it affected my sleep.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zac (10/5): Extremely happy with cottage which has been beutifully furnished throughout. - A beautiful cosy cottage well located in Godmanchester close to pubs/restaurants. Cambridge about half an hour drive away. Nothing to dislike.
- Niall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caroline (9/5): Perfect getaway. Would definitely like to stay again. - Just like the pictures. Great location. Parking was no problem even though our car was too big for the drive. It was lovely to hear the church bells too. Not a criticism but would have liked some information on the house considering it was over 400 years old.
- Juliette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rigg (9/5): Superb - Very nice quirky little cottage in an ideal location, lovely welcome gift and will definitely stay again Nothing
- Elaine (8/5): Great 3 night stay and lovely place - Beautifully restored old house in quiet street. The house had everything for a short stay. Very clean. Bottle of wine on arrival a welcome touch. Lovely bathroom and very comfy beds. Nice books and games to enjoy. We struggled with the heating controls and had to contact the owner. We did get it working but the house didn't heat up very quickly. Would have appreciated some blankets to use in the lounge as otherwise a perfect stay. It would have been nice to have a hand towel in the kitchen and bathroom. We only had one large bath towel each and a tea towel. I always like to be greeted with a personal message/guide about the property and any instructions but there was nothing. Also would have loved some history on the house as it was built in 1601 so must have a very interesting story behind it. But these are minor negatives.
- Kate (9/5): Great stay in rural Cambridgeshire - Great cottage, very clean and well presented. Great location and easy communication with host.
- Daoiri (10/5): Amazing location - The house is absolutely beautiful and the neighbours next door couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming. The house itself is next to a really nice church and park and at the other end of the road is the famed Chinese bridge and walk, a must if you are looking to walk off breakfast or dinner blues. There genuinely was nothing I didn't like. Thanks so much for having us stay for three wonderful days.
We will definitely be back to stay here if we are in the area. Top marks.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Graham (10/5): Great communication with Chris lovely cottage in a lovely place - It was lovely and clean in a gorgeous little town it was fantastic stay
- Juliakha (10/5): Peaceful. Picturesque. Perfect. - Everything was absolutely perfect, thank you for the nice touches (such as a bottle of wine, lovely flowers, coffee pods, tea, butter). Fantastic accommodation, spotlessly clean, freshly painted, yet historical and authentic. A lot of beautiful details. Log burner. Pretty garden. Dish washer. Super comfy beds. Toiletries. What else can one wish for? Thank you!
