Guest Reviews
- Rachel (8/5): Perfect! - Beautiful location, the house was spacious, clean and suited our needs perfectly. Nothing.
- Rachael (9/5): Great stay, great location. Very comfortable cottage, already planning to return. - Wonderful stay at this lovely comfortable home-like cottage. Great for walking straight from the house, space for kids to play both indoors and out, everything we needed was there. Really enjoyed ourselves and would love to come back. Could have done with more toilet paper provided but that is it! Everything else was perfect.
- Julie-Ann (10/5): Amazing, peaceful getaway from everyday life set in a perfect location. I would highly recommend - Loved the fact it was remote but still near enough to get to everything by car. My sons struggle mixing around too many people so this property was absolutely spot on for them. The hosts were absolutely lovely and had even left out a little basket of goodies for us arriving which was really nice. I would highly recommend a stay here. Nothing, I could not find a single fault with this property it was absolutely perfect for our needs. I would definitely stay again.

- Andrea (10/5): If we could give Rowanlea more than a 10, we would! - We absolutely loved this property! It’s secluded and so peaceful that you’d never think there was a city a few minutes drive away. The cottage itself is immaculately clean, modern and is equipped with everything you might need. We also loved the care and attention to detail shown by the owners; there was shampoo, body wash and conditioner; washing tablets and softener for your clothes, and a welcome pack with wine, biscuits, sweets, jams etc. There are also herbs and spices and other bits that may come in handy in the cupboards.
The first day we drove to John O’Groats (2 1/2 hrs away) and the second we spent exploring Inverness (15 mins away) and The Culloden Museum and Battlefield (a further 15 mins away). Wish we had stayed longer.
We are travelling all over the UK and this is by far the nicest cottage we have stayed in.
- Janet (10/5): 10/10 would stay there again! - Great house, roomy kitchen and living areas. Bedrooms larger than most we've stayed in. The garden was lovely. We loved cooking each evening on the gas grill on the deck. Separate laundry room and kitchen dishwasher made clean up easy. It was quiet and secluded from town - much needed after busy days in Inverness and surrounding areas. No phone signal, so the Wi-fi was appreciated and worked well. Hosts provided a lovely welcome basket. Laundry line was too high to reach - other than that minor inconvenience, it was a great place to stay.

- Kierra (10/5): Amazing stay! Super spacious and just so peaceful. - This cottage was just what me and my family needed! Super spacious and just a couple minutes outside of the city. It was so peaceful here and so beautiful. We fell in love with everything they had to offer. Three bedrooms, a washing machine, a fully loaded kitchen and space to relax and watch TV. Would definitely stay there again!
- Marjolein (8/5): - Nice cottage with everything you need inside. Close to Inverness and nice and quiet. It was a bit difficult to find. The bed was a bit hard
- Timothy (8/5): Comfortable rural stay - The clean, comfortable and spacious cottage was in a very quiet rural location. The welcome gift basket was appreciated and enjoyed. It was further from shops and restaurants than we expected. We did enjoy one walk from the property but it would have been good to have a map showing how to get to the trail, and information about nearby activities, restaurants and shops.
- Geoffrey (10/5): A superb stay in a delightful place in a beautiful location. - À fantastic location, and very comfortable. I liked the feeling of generosity and welcome about it- eg good bottles of shampoo and conditioner, larder things, plenty of dishwasher tablets and a nice welcome basket. Nothing
- Sahil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fraser (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable.
Spacious well appointed kitchen.
Lovely secluded location Only one bathroom
- Kirsty (10/5): Just perfect - Easy to find even though hidden away, huge cottage, the photos do not do it justice. Everything you need for a family get away. Ive never felt more refreshed in my life, the kids didnt want to leave. Waking up to the beautiful woodlands surrounding, and hearing nature at its finest. The most perfect stay, comfortable beds with nice size rooms, photos do not do it justice. I wanted a hide away fir my 40th so noone could throw me a wild party, and i could not of asked for a better day, waking up here was bliss. Cannot wait to return.
- Shari (10/5): Exceptional - The location was amazing. Having access to the whole cottage where we could relax, cook breakfast and just enjoy the atmosphere and view. This is my favorite place and I could live here! N/A
- Lisa (10/5): Excellent cottage with everything you could need - Lovely cottage with everything you could need. Would happily stay here again. Nothing.
Suggestion - some local info/things to do. Need a colander in kitchen.
- Amit (10/5): Great get away - Excellent accommodation facilities. Staff with great communication. Lot of amenities and secluded location for a very relaxing stay.
- Grace (10/5): Clean, spotless cottage with comfortable beds and furniture. - It was a bit of a winding road to get to the cottage, but it was still close to Inverness. The surroundings were green and beautiful with lots of flowers in the garden. There was an excellent welcome pack and many basic necessities in the house. Can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
- Aapo (9/5): Excellent little cottage in the woods close to Inverness - The place was in a beautiful forest and very clean and modern, but comftable. We were supposed to leave at 11 but the lady was super nice for us even tho we got out little late, than supposed to. The showertray leaked the water to the bathroom floor so we had to dry it constantly with towels.
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional - This was a wonderful homely house with a fantastic peaceful space around you. Lovely hosts and comfortable facilities.
