Guest Reviews
- Angel (5/5): The place has the potential to be an amazing rental with more thorough cleaning and some TLC and gen - Location is fantastic! The room is a good size with all the basic hotel-style amenities. We were allowed to check in early, which was a big plus. The host also answered the phone right away when we called. Cleanliness was a major issue. The shower was dirty, with stains on the shower curtain and visible scum buildup. We also found a pair of soiled, stained thongs left on one of the chairs at the table when we went to sit down to eat. There was also an unknown stain on the comforter. The shower head leaked nonstop, causing water to pool on the bathroom floor. We called to report a barking dog in the next room, but nothing was done, and the barking continued nonstop throughout the night.
- Ana (9/5): -
- Lindsay (10/5): Comfy, clean, and perfect for a short getaway. - The location, size, everything was great. Nothing- it was all 10/10
- Valerie (1/5): - Bed bugs. Pictures were not actual to the real appearance. Floors were dirty. No way to control the temperature. Uncomfortably Cold
- Kim (8/5): Perfect place for a holiday stay in such a beautiful area! - The room was extremely comfortable, well-appointed, and had everything you could want for a weekend stay! Fridge and microwave were clean and in good working order. The bathroom was BIG, really nice shower with built in bench. The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. The location was perfect for us, less than 10 minutes to the festival grounds and parking garage. Our main frustration was with the Roku television and not being able to watch local channels or local weather, as the weather definitely had an impact on our activities. We were stranded an extra day due to inclement weather and it was frustrating to only have access to Roku channels. Other than that, everything was lovely!
- George (10/5): The makings of a wonderful weekend. We're coming back. - First impression, with a caveat: Very nicely done, but this place is not.a tourist house. It's a motel room in a house subdivided into three of them. I give that warning just in case the reader is looking for a place where he/she can cook meals seriously. This ain't it. The 'kitchen' area is about 3'x'6' and essentially consists of a small microwave, mini fridge, and a tiny (almost RV-sized) sink. Fortunately, I asked a few questions before heading on the road, got clear cut answers, and was under no illusions about the cooking we weren't going to be doing. We did bring our own 12-cup coffee pot, however. Some things are necessities.
Otherwise, the place is magnificent. The room is small, the king bed takes up fully 2/3rds of the floor space. The bed is quite comfortable. The decor is quite nice, the place is very clean and well cared for. The shower . . . . . Let's just say I'm jealous and my wife is already nagging me to having the main bathroom shower torn out at home to duplicate it. Very spacious closet, actually both the bathroom and closet are surprisingly deep which is nice because the third unit of the three in the house is on the other side of the these rooms.
So, we love the house, but the landlord was fantastic. Upon moving in, we had a couple of questions on controlling items, remotes, etc. so I put a note out thru my booking.com app. Within five minutes we had a return phone call, and within forty five she was there to take care of a minor issue.
Definitely recommend the place to anyone . . . except the week of 26 February to 4 March 2026, which is 2026 Bike Week and we're calling dibs on the place. No complaints whatsoever.
- Angela (7/5): Good -
- Kristy (8/5): It was great. It was perfect for what we wanted for a weekend away. Cozy and relaxing - It was close to everything and cozy The parking was a little hard when all 3 units were filled but we managed
- Jarosław (8/5): Very good - What you are promised is what's you get. If you get $50 for cleaning you should not require that the guests would wash the dishes.
- Barry (8/5): We enjoyed our stay, and it was very easy getting around the bed , was very comfortable - The property was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Our hostess was accommodating. The parking; we had to be very careful, moving the car around.
- F (6/5): Pleasant - Large bathroom with a large shower. Pets are allowed and they didn't charge an exorbitant fee. I think the owners tried to make it cute, but it was very dirty. The small refrigerator was completely iced over and needed to be defrosted. I had to keep going to a gas station for ice. The whole place needs to be scrubbed down and repainted. There are no windows, just a small window on the door which didn't make me feel very safe. Parking is very cramped and difficult to get in and out of.
- Nancy (1/5): Bad - Mold in shower, requiring to wash dishes in bathroom sink, poor maintenance of facilities, noises from other rooms, tiny microwave too low for proper handling, tight parking, longer distance from town than anticipated. The front page of the booking.com ad states the property as “entire vacation home”, which it is most definitely not. Only later is the full description does it state that it is one a several units.
- Sandra (10/5): Love it, would stay again - Location!! Everything was near by Nothing
- Kathleen (6/5): Adequate - It was clean and adequate for our stay. Toilet didn't work well, the coffee maker could of been better. Prefer to make coffee than use K-cup and parking was difficult.
- Mindie (9/5): Clean and efficient close to everything. Private compared to hotels or other places to stay priced well.. - Close to every thing. Parking
- Crystal (8/5): Very good -
- Edward (10/5): Great value for the price. - I stayed here to bring my daughter back for her second semester at Flagler. It was very close to the historic district and I was pleasantly surprised how well maintained the property was.
- Kimberly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimball (6/5): Pleasant - Nice size room. Coffee maker, coffee, fridge all included. Large closet and storage area. This is a house converted to 3 rental units. We were in unit 2. The electrical panel was in unit 1. The thermostat for central heat and air was in unit 3. The owner was very prompt and helpful when we tripped a breaker and needed more heat, but still not an ideal set up. Parking inside the property is difficult, but there is plenty of street parking. I mistakenly thought the property was within the historic district. But it is a little too far to walk to the attractions.
- Monti (9/5): Great value for a low-maintenance traveler. - Outstanding, really. Charming and cozy. My room had a king bed and huge bathroom. Nothing fancy but very clean, and the property was really cute. Close (but driving) distance to the sites of St Augustine, which made for a peaceful environment. The property manager was on site, welcoming and professional. I would totally stay here again! There really wasn't anything dislike-able about the Little Carnation. The mattress was just ok, but i slept well, so....
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ava (8/5): Very good - I enjoyed being in a quiet older neighborhood that we could explore, not too far from downtown. An enormous shower and bathroom and roomy bed. Everything was very clean. The kind of noisy fan in the room; an early checkout time -10:30 instead of 10 would be perfect!
- Ana (6/5): Pleasant -
- Amanda (8/5): Very good - Hostess was great, room was clean n comfy, quiet as well. Location online was not accurate, a lot further to downtown than advertised. Parking was tight, would not recommend bringing a truck.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (10/5): Gem in St. Augustine - Quaint hotel like room, spacious (HUGE) closet, big inviting shower(big enough for 2). SIMPLE check in and timely communication. Great location and historic neighborhood only 1 mile from St George St. And most importantly, dog friendly. There really is nothing to dislike about this property. Great value, location and easy communication.
