- Nay (7/5): Good -
- Durba (1/5): Not Recommended – Poor Service and Unprofessional Behavior - None. Not Recommended – Poor Service and Unprofessional Behavior
I had a very disappointing experience at HA Hotel. The staff kept repeatedly calling me before check-in, asking if I would come or not, which was unnecessary and made me feel pressured. Due to some issues, I checked in 3 hours late and requested just 1 extra hour during checkout as I was unwell. Instead of understanding my situation, they literally shouted at me, which was extremely rude and unprofessional.
The room was not well-maintained or clean as expected. Only the rooftop view was decent, but that’s about the only positive. The location is also not ideal for solo travelers — quite isolated and inconvenient.
Definitely not worth the price. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and respectful stay.
- Daniil (10/5): Exceptional - - Wonderful location for a quiet retreat, away from the noise but near the main road and within less than 30 mins of walk to Chowrasta.
-There is a huge common terrace with a view all around.
- Awesome hosts, ready to help with everything but at the same time not intrusive. They also helped me with some extra things that I needed, even if they didn't have to. And most of the time there was no one around and it was a very private space, which is so valuable for a traveller (but the hosts are always available on the phone if you need anything).
- I'll definitely love to stay there again when I'm back in Darjeeling.
Just for info: Google maps don't see that turn so be sure to ask the locals how to get there from the main road. Plus and minus at the same time: the rotunda windows provide the view and space, but at the same time if someone walks, talks on the phone on the terrace etc, it can feel a bit not so private.
- Atrayee (9/5): Superb -

- Magdalena (10/5): The one to remember - I loved my experience at Yashita. The family is very friendly, they speak good English and are helpful. Communication with hosts was impeccable! Before I came, they guided me how to get to Darjeeling and how much I should be charged. They also recommended things to see and told me few facts about the city. The best terrace view you can get! Homemade food was delicious and served on time. An authentic experience which will stay in my heart forever!

The property could further improve on:
1.Furnishing+ Security: the door locks did not work, curtains were missing, issue with the water pressure etc prevailed for all the 3 days I stayed there for during the monsoon
2.Service: The service could have been better as there is no one round the clock at the place in case you need anything like drinking water etc. Else they try to do just enough with what they can.
3. The rooms get noisy very easily from the other rooms
4. The approach road is steep to climb, else it's nearby a main road
5.Google Maps to the location needs to be updated for correct route.
6.On Booking.com they have suggested features which are not applicable eg. Free Airport Transfers
- Mamun (10/5): Exceptional - We recently had the pleasure of spending two nights at Yashita Homestay in Darjeeling, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a sense of home away from home.
Location and Views: The location of Yashita Homestay is simply breathtaking. Nestled in a serene spot, the homestay offers a spectacular view of the city and the surrounding mountains. One of the highlights of our stay was the opportunity to walk through the Happy Valley Tea Estate, which is just a stone's throw away. The tranquil pathways through the lush tea gardens provided a perfect escape and a chance to truly connect with nature.
Accommodation: Our room was cozy and comfortable, offering all the amenities needed for a restful stay. The homestay is beautifully maintained, and our room was spotlessly clean. The large windows allowed us to soak in the stunning scenery right from our bed.
Food: One of the best parts of our stay was the food. Breakfast was included, and it was a delightful spread of home-cooked dishes that set a perfect tone for the day. We also opted for their dinner thali, which was a highlight of our culinary experience. The thali was prepared in a home style, rich in flavor and made with fresh ingredients. It was evident that a lot of love and care went into the preparation of each meal.
Service: The service at Yashita Homestay was exemplary. The hosts were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They provided valuable tips on local attractions and were always available to assist us.
Overall Experience: Yashita Homestay is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience that combines comfort, excellent service, and the beauty of Darjeeling's natural landscape. I highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking to experience the charm of Darjeeling in a
peaceful and homely environment.
Thank you, Yashita Homestay, for a wonderful stay.

- Ankita (9/5): I think I've found the perfect stay for myself ! - It's a really cute quaint property ! You get access to this huge rooftop , and the view is amazing ! Quiet locality , people are as usual simple and sweet ! The owner is an elderly gentleman. And all the formalities and work is mostly done by his grandson who is by the way very friendly smart and hardworking ! Especially
Especially the food they provide, very fresh minimal homely comfort food! Super healthy and tasty ! I absolutely loved the fact that they also provide you access to their kitchen incase anyone wants to make any beverage or instant noodles or simply wants to warm up their food! Rooms where clean, comfy and cosy! We also got to keep our motorcycle in their garage ! Overall it was a very lovely/comfortable stay ! Would definitely revisit again ! We stayed just for one night ! There was literally nothing that seemed unpleasant ! Sure there could be room for more improvement but nothing such stoodout to me personally !

- Mayukh (5/5): Passable - breakfast was good but quantity wise very lesss not for old people . as the property is very downhill its tough for older guys to come '

- Sudeshna (8/5): Very good - The night view was excellent of Darjeeling city Sudden power failure .The inverter had a problem too.
- Buncheongeun (10/5): Convenient location - I enjoyed the homemade breakfast.
The location was convenient because it was walking distance from the motor stand in darjeeling.
The host family told me a lot of interesting story about Darjeeling. Nothing
- Buncheongeun (10/5): Good view from the terrace - Nice view from the spacious terrace, though I couldn't see the clear view because of the haze. The location was close to the Motor Stand, but it was
very quiet. The host family were all warm and welcoming. The complementary and homemade breakfast was very good and tasty. Nothing
- Neha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abhishek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rama (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shauvik (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location..
- Tanmoy (10/5): Exceptional - The scenic beauty is simply amazing from the homestay. The Rooms are well decorated and spacious. And I must mention that the owners of the homestay are very kind and cooperative. The complementary breakfasts that they offered were refreshing and homely. Nothing specific.
- Tanmoy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ambika (1/5): Bad -
- Brent (10/5): Incredible views - Incredible views and extremely friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were large and very comfortable. Very nice that we could lock our bikes in the garage. The send off was also lovely. The track down to the guesthouse is in average condition however great for us as we had off road motorbikes.
- Shahnaz (8/5): Very good - The mountain view was excellent. It is a bit away from the centre point, walking distance is about 20minutes.Please do no believe the booking.com location, it’s almost double than it’s shown in booking.com
- Raka (9/5): superb - hospitality is unparalleled which satisfied us vehemently. they treated as a family member which we never received earlier.
- Baruah (9/5): Superb -
- Avi (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and peaceful
- K (8/5): Good - Good View
- Rajesh (9/5): Excellent place to stay in Darjeeling - The location was exotic. The view from the terrace was beautiful. The washroom in my room had an Indian commode which was a problem
- Kochuvarkey (1/5): True factual review - The People are okay,, There is compound space to sit, walk etc. And the view is good. The property is vastly over rated and overpriced. Charging nearly 2000 per day for such accommodation is totally wrong, property doesn’t deserve even paying half of it. Had a really tough time spending 3 days. Following is my experience.
- No one for carrying the luggage. We have to carry till 1st floor.
- There is no daily room and toilet cleaning.
- No TV in room or whole property. No Fan in the Room.
- Old Wooden Bed, Bad/thin Mattress, Dusty Blanket.
- Geyser capacity is less, so very slow water heating.
- Slow water flow in taps and flush.
- Small Room, No Place to keep the luggage.
- The Vinyl flooring of the room is torn and just stick with a tape.
- The Kitchen, Dining room and the road view of property shown in the photos are wrong.
- Parata and Sabji is the only breakfast you get everyday (In Breakfast included plan)
- The owner said no to washing clothes, saying that they have to get water by tankers.
- The property is deep down from the main road, each time you have pay 300 Rs one way till main market.
- No power backup to Wi-Fi router and mobile charging sockets, when electricity goes. .
- Pal (9/5): Superb -
- Debottam (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (10/5): Fantastic place and beautiful views. - You have to understand that Darjeeling is hilly and this place has a beautiful view over the valley. I was there only for a few days but they treated me like family. This is a wonderful place and would recommend to all. Nothing it was perfect
- Traders (10/5): Exceptional - All about the homestay was perfect the view was very very good I was staying in many hotels and homestays but this one had no words to explain and the breakfast they served was delicious and the property was so clean and nearer to all sightseeing places
I suggest if any one wants to come darjeeling for vacation then this one was nice to stay
- Singh (9/5): Superb -
- Ranjoy (8/5): Very good - The view is actually pretty nice, as good as its on the pictures, but to get there one has to literally do crash course on mountaineering!
Don't bother booking your room with balcony, coz its a common one anyways.
- Adwait (10/5): Exceptional - Warm and welcoming host. They'll offer you tasty homemade food. Homely atmosphere.
