• Stefan (6/5): - Location is perfect. People are really friendly. Nice breakfast. Beds were really hard. Lots of insects in the room. Food&Drinks at the beach bar are quiet pricey. Be aware that they charge a 10% service tax on top of everything. Very loud since we got the room nearest to the street.

• Regina (10/5): Cooler Ort, cooles Hotel, cooles Team - Mega stylisches Hotel mit tollem Essen, leckeren Cocktails und einem traumhaften Zimmer mit unglaublicher Aussicht! Cooles Personal. Hatten dort eine schöne Zeit. Abends kann man im Ort gut feiern gehen - wenn man sich nicht an den ganzen schlecht gelaunten russischen Gästen stört. Wir haben unser Ding gemacht und hatten viel Spaß! Team Amaroo ist einfach super! Nichts!

Super friendly staff, delicious complimentary breakfast (with different items everyday so you don't get sick of the same thing), great variety of food on the restaurant menu for lunch and dinner, spacious and clean room with a private balcony giving you amazing sunset views and last but not least the location being right on the beach was perfect for relaxing and enjoying Hikkaduwa beach all day. Nothing.

Roomservice nur alle 3 Tage oder auf Nachfrage. Kein Kühlschrank und Teekocher auf dem Zimmer. Kein Handtuch für die Hände, gab es nur auf Nachfrage und auch nur eins😅 Das Bett war leider auch nicht das bequemste.

O restaurante com muitas opções de pratos é bastante concorrido, e recebe muitas pessoas de outras hospedagens. Localização central com facilidade de máquina ATM, casa de câmbio, lojas e restaurantes. Da orientação reduzida em relação às possibilidades de surf na região.

• Nordgren (9/5): Kort sagt var det en väldigt drömlik vistelse på detta hotell med god mat, rena rum där man kände sig som hemma. - Det var så mysigt att vakna på morgonen och kunna kliva ut på terrassen för att äta frukost med en fantastisk utsikt. Stämningen var väldigt avkopplande på hotellet och de hade verkligen fått till ett snyggt genomgående tema på hotellet. En av dagarna åkte vi iväg mitt i natten på Safari och missade ordinarie frukost, för att lösa detta ordnade köket två stora fruktfat till oss som vi kunde hämta från kylen - det var väldigt fint att de gick ur sin väg och gjorde det lilla extra. Det var ganska överflödigt med personal och när man ville kommunicera något eller ställa en enkel fråga så skulle hela styrkan engagera sig och höra/besvara det man sa. Detta var inget som påverkade vistelsen negativt, men det hade framstått mer proffsigt om kommunikationen var lättare.

• Tammi (10/5): - This was our second time staying here and honestly we just love it. Such a good vibe every time, especially when the live music nights are on. We stayed this time while I was pregnant and celebrating our baby shower, and the team were so lovely and accommodating, they really made us feel comfortable the whole stay. It’s in such a great spot too, right near the surf break which my partner loves. We always recommend this place to friends and will definitely be back again.

• Hannah (10/5): - We had a really nice stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely beautiful, right on the beach. The Cocktails were excellent and the food was great as well. The staff was also very friendly. A special mention goes to the staff member who greeted us every morning at breakfast, always so warm, welcoming, and happy to chat. That really made our days start on a positive note. The rooms are simple but stylish. We stayed for two nights in a side view room, which unfortunately got quite warm and the air conditioning didn’t cool very well. Afterwards, we spent three nights in a garden room, where the temperature was perfect. The only small suggestion would be to add a couple of chairs, a small table, and maybe a full-length mirror like the one in the side view room. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The atmosphere, both in the restaurant and on the beach loungers, was by far the nicest compared to other places nearby. We would definitely come back!

И, поездив по острову несколько дней, приняли решение остановиться здесь. Номер у нас был на первом этаже. Кондиционер работал хорошо, кровать удобная, душ без крыши) Самое классное - это расположение. Очень хороший пляж. Лично нам не хватило одеяла) без кондиционера спать очень душно и жарко, с ним холодно. Я укрывалась еще сверху полотенцем. В ванной не хватило шампуня. Также нет фена (но нам и не нужен был).
• Nina (9/5): Skön stämning på ett mycket fräscht och fint ställe. - Läget, personalen, inredningsstilen. Frukosten var typiskt Sri lakanskt med olika rätter som bjöds olika dagar. Bra och fräsch mat för övrigt. Rent och snyggt. Otroligt trevlig positiv personal, alltid ett leende. Tog en timmes surf lektion vi fick två jättebra instruktörer. Tog massage 2 ggr, var mycket bra. Trevligt med livemusik 2 kvällar/v. Det var detta stället på stranden som det var folk på på kvällarna:) vi återkommer! Inget allt var toppen!

• Philipp (10/5): Entspannte Unterkunft direkt am Meer mit leckerem Essen - Personal ist sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Die Lage direkt am Strand ist großartig. Und das Essen ist sehr gut. Man kann auch Massagen buchen. Diese sind sehr gut. Es gibt auch eine kleine Boutique mit Klamotten und Souvenirs. Die Zimmer sind sauber und großzügig. Wir hatten eins in der ersten Etage mit Meerblick. WiFi funktioniert gut und unten gibt es viele Tische an denen man auch gut arbeiten kann. WiFi ist hier noch besser mit Blick auf das Meer. Der Vibe ist sehr entspannt. Sehr zu empfehlen. Ein Wasserkocher, Kühlschrank und Händehandtuch auf dem Zimmer wären noch schön gewesen.

• Elena (10/5): Восхитительно! - Большой просторный номер с балконом. С балкона открывается вид на ресторан и океан. Шум океана прекрасно слышно в номере и на меня действует как "белый шум". Еда вресторане - выше всяких похвал, каждый найдет себе что-то по душе, и точно не останется равнодушным. Мои топ - это боул с тунцом - просто бомба. Отдельное спасибо персоналу, который во всем помогает, также помогли устроить сюрприз подруге на день рождение. Такое отношение очень ценно и хочется вернуться вновь и вновь.

Номер с кроватью кинг-сайз очень уютный, особенно впечатляет душ с видом на океан. Балкончик с видом на океан - просто сказка. Ребята, которые работают в отеле и рестораны очень дружелюбные и готовы всем помочь при необходимости. Отель прям на океане, вышел босиком и ты уже счастлив. Ротрясающий ресторан. Аутентичные шриланкийские завтраки , которые могут не все оценить, но кокосовые лепешки и их домашний джем восхитительны. Поставить в номер сушилку для одежды как в номерах с видом на море.

• Claudia (9/5): Toller Ort, nette chillige Menschen, macht einfach Spaß. - Die Lage ist einfach klasse, direkt am Strand. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, immer flott unterwegs. Speisekarte übersichtlich, aber sehr lecker, Cocktails klasse und die Getränke kalt. Die Betten sind bequem und die Dusche heiß und es kommt genug Wasser raus. Also alles gut. Ein paar kleinere Reparaturarbeiten in den Zimmern könnten durchgeführt werden, das sind aber Kleinigkeiten.
• Jessica (7/5): Gut - Was das Hotel hauptsächlich ausmacht: - das super freundliche Personal!! - das tolle Mittag- und Abendessen (bestes Restaurant mit den besten Cocktails auf unserer Reise) auch wenn man hier mehr zahlt als woanders, die Qualität der Speisen und Getränke ist super. - Zimmer war für den Preis absolut ok - Lage direkt am Strand Wir hatten das Zimmer mit Gartenblick. - an der Tür zum offenen Bad waren überall Lücken. - Bett hat bei jeder Bewegung laut geknarrt - Klimaanlage war sehr laut obwohl sie ganz neu war - die Terrasse war bei Regen komplett nass weil das Dach nicht dicht ist. - offenes Bad muss man mögen - Frühstücksauswahl - ständig laufende Musik, leider zu laut. Man kann aber in das Schwesterhotel gehen, dort ist es schön ruhig - kein Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher für Tee im Zimmer Ich würde trotzdem wieder kommen

Large room with balcony and sea view. Professional and friendly staff. You will obviously find cheaper accommodation options in Hikkaduwa, it was one of the most expensive rooms during our 3 weeks trip to Sri Lanka but definitely worth it.

• Tyrone (10/5): Incredible team creating a home from home - I’m never usually so quick to write a review, but this place truly deserves it. We’ve been travelling around Sri Lanka for five weeks, and Amaroo was hands down our favourite stay – the perfect way to end our time here. We had a partial sea view room and, although it was slightly smaller than some of the others, it was absolutely perfect. It felt super private, and the view was incredible. Watching the sunsets from here was something special. The rooms were spotless and incredible value for money, especially considering the beachfront location. However, what really made Amaroo stand out was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was beyond welcoming and genuinely made us feel at home. My partner and I both rented boards and took surf lessons here – our instructors were lovely, and it was clear how well they look after their boards and guests. Everyone always had a smile on their face, and it was amazing to stay somewhere that is filled with seriously lovely local people. We don’t usually spend much time where we’re staying, but between the available sunbeds, amazing views, welcoming atmosphere, and seriously good food, we ended up eating here for lunch and two dinners and chilling by the sea in the afternoons. The seafood platter was incredible. The value for money at Amaroo is unreal, and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much to everyone at Amaroo for such an Amazing stay.

• rashmi_dxb (8/5): A great find in Hikkaduwa - The property and the rooms have a nice vibe to them! The staff is super nice, very genuine and always with a smile. Breakfast is a hit or a miss, they serve something different each day and there isn't really a choice. The pancakes were very nice on one of the days :D. The beach right by the property seems excellent for surfing, possibly the water is a bit rough for casual swimming. The views from our room were excellent and it was lovely to be able to hear the ocean at night. Its located in a great area where there are tons of restaurants, beach shacks and cafes all around A bit of issues here and there, with hot water and air conditioning but were solved right away!

We received an invite to reserve a spot for Christmas Eve dinner which was nice to have dinner on the beach and meet other guests. They had talented live music every night which we enjoyed. What we especially liked was that the employees were all genuinely kind, happy, and helpful. To me this shows that they are well taken care of and enjoy their jobs. Indicating the owners are respectful and kind to their employees. I also liked meeting the owners and wish them all the best❣️❣️❣️❣️ No complaints and we travel the world and stay in all levels of accommodation. It’s not possible to keep any property immaculate and perfectly maintained when close to salt water. Though we have no complaints.

We loved watching the waves and surfers from the early hours. Would definitely recommend. There weren’t any sun loungers to sunbathe on at the beach because the sea comes right up to the property. We did find sun loungers just down the beach which were available if you bought a drink (which are about £1) so it didn’t cause a problem.

• Veronika (10/5): Das schönste Hotel unserer Reise - Die Lage ist hervorragend, man ist direkt am Strand, es ist aber trotzdem sehr ruhig. Das Restaurant ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen. Das Essen und die Getränke sind super und das Frühstück der Hammer. Es gab jeden Tag frische Früchte und ein abwechslungsreiches und großes Frühstück. Sehr zu empfehlen!

• Burcu (7/5): - The staff was attentive and the food was delicious The room we stayed in was small and basic, we had a balcony but looking at the ocean from the side which we did not use at all due to not being clean and inviting, the toilet was ok but could be better, there was water leaking from the sides of the washbasin and the bidet sprayer. We had breakfast included and they do not tell you what they will give you and it can change each day which we found a bit strange. I might have allergies and it would be good to display daily breakfast options for the ones staying there.

• Benjamin (10/5): Großartiger Ort mit Charme und Seele - Eine Unterkunft mit Seele. Klasse Lage direkt am Meer, super schön eingerichtet und leckere Drinks & Speisen. Vor allem das Personal macht aber die Unterkunft aus. Jeder hat ein Lächeln im Gesicht und ist sehr zuvorkommend. Man merkt, dass hier ein tolles Team gemeinsam und mit Freude am Job agiert. Auch die beiden Surflehrer Kalu und Sutha haben einen tollen Job gemacht und waren immer flexibel, je nach Wetterlage den passenden Spot auszusuchen. Sehr zu empfehlen. Das Zimmer war recht schlicht aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Alles in allem toll und jederzeit gerne wieder!

Есть свои минусы, но прекрасный вид и дружелюбный персонал делают сво - + месторасположение и вид из номера + еда по меню вкусная + персонал приятный и внимательный + очень уютное место - муравьи в номере - фото номера и действительность немного отличается ( но скорее ремонт быстро портится из-за влажности) - нет холодильника в номере чтобы остужать воду - не очень обширный завтрак

• Christian (10/5): The place to be in Hikka! 🏝️🏄🏻‍♂️🤙 - Excellent rating overall! Supun/Mel and the lovely staff are doing a fabulous job as hosts of Amaroo! By far the best accomodation we could have imagined for our style - its the place to be in Hikka! Cool vibes! Perfect location as well (beachfront, surfspot, restos/bars, atm in front). Everyday changing breakfast is a dream, and so is the restaurants food menue! Surfguidings and boards were on a super good level. AND: Getting up in the morning, receiving the loveliest „good morning“ every day by Harsh followed by instant serving of fresh coffee with the brightest smile you could imagine made every day from the first minute a really good one! Definitely coming back one day 😎 We actually extended twice - until it was fully booked… 😜
• Chloé (10/5): Dream stay in Hikkaduwa - This property is a dream, the minute you arrive you feel amazing. The staff are super lovely all are very friendly and caring. The room are super comfortable and the view from the hotel couldn’t be better. I will definitely be back!! Nothing

• Evgeniya (10/5): - Очень атмосферное место, сделано стильно и с душой! А ребята, которые там работают мега сервисные, реагируют быстро на любую просьбу и всегда стараются помочь. Завтраки простые, но сытные и всегда можно попросить добавку) Так же обедали или ужинали иногда в ресторанчике при отеле, всё вкусное, свежее и за адекватные деньги. В общем, только самые лучшие рекомендации и самые теплые воспоминания! Очень не хватало холодильника в номере и маленьких полотенец для рук) Но это мелочи
