Charles (9/5): We loved the comfort of the Whisky Room and the friendliness of the staff, especially Frances and GM - Breakfast was fabulous - I had the Granola Bowl on the first morning and the "Full Scottish" on the second, so my choices were from either end of the spectrum! We were woken by a clunking "generator starting up" sort of sound at around 4am on the Sunday morning. I assume it came from within the hotel - but it may not have done. No big deal as we went back to sleep again quickly.

Janine (10/5): - Very friendly and welcoming. All the staff had pleasant personalities and were very engaging. The hotel has a certain sumptuous look about it which is reflected in the decor and the effort to theme the rooms. We dined both in the evening and morning. The food served was of a high quality and perfectly cooked, and not particularly expensive. It's a no- brainer eating here rather than traipsing around Ayr for something. A great deal of thought has gone into realising the owners vision of hospitality. They have succeeded in my estimation. We only stayed one night, but the welcome was such that we left with a tinge of regret. Would certainly use again. Nothing. They have nailed it.
Julie (10/5): Unexpected luxurious room. - The bedroom was stunning with luxurious decor. Very comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly. The cooked breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. The lady who was on breakfast service was very cheery and couldn't do enough for us. Everything was spotless. I want to say that the following points are not negatives, but are my suggestions and preferences. The room. Whilst I understand the reed diffusers are all part of the room ambience. The fragrance was strong, and not one I enjoyed. I ended up putting it in the wardrobe and bringing it back out before we left. The lighting in the room was very relaxing. However, it wasn't great for putting make-up on. It would have been great to have a brighter light by the window/dressing table and on the opposite side to the bathroom. A couple more plug sockets in the room would have been great. We unplugged the standard lamp( which I needed for make-up) and took turns with the iron, hairdryer, and straighteners using that one socket. Also, it would have been helpful to have a socket on the side of the bed nearest the door and by the big mirror. Breakfast. The choice of fresh juice was limited ( 2 if I remember plus water). It would have been helpful if they were labelled as it wasn't obvious from the colour what flavour they were. There was a limited choice of wee boxes of cereal. There were whole pieces of fruit and pots of yoghurt . However, it would have been nice to have some granola with fruit salad. The pastries seemed over baked. They were dry and hard and didn't seem fresh. I hate wasting food, but I couldn't eat it. It was the 3rd and 4th of January, so maybe there was a supply issue with it being over a holiday period.

Dave (7/5): We were at the hotel for a wedding and it was lovely laid out. - The property itself was lovely. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was nice, but quite small. Only room for one chair. Had to work from cases on the floor. No drawers. No actual wardrobe to hang clothes, there was only a cupboard in the bathroom or a hook on the back of the main door to hang outfits on. No room in the bathroom to lay toiletries etc. The pillows were high and solid. I resorted to sleeping with a bath towel inside a pillow slip.

The Menu in Evening , felt it was limited and not up to the Standard of Hotel. Also I chose Smoked Salmon Focaccia which had too much dressing on it. I did mention this to Waitress and all she said was she would inform the Chef. Far too many Quilts on the Bed for this time of year, especially that Weekend. As I mentioned before loved the room but did not like the smell of cooking coming up!!

Jane (8/5): - Breakfast was lovely as was the location near the beach. Coffee could be a little better but that is probably me being fussy. Service was lovely. The only thing which could have been improved was a long walk with heavy bags from the railway station. We rang the hotel from our train asking if there was a complimentary shuttle and were advised there were taxis outside the station. The exit we left from had no taxis and we didn’t see any en route. A phone number of a local firm would have been appreciated. This was arranged by the hotel for our return leg to the station and was very helpful and appreciated.

Elizabeth (10/5): - Really friendly and accommodating staff. Went over and above: allowed early check-in so we could get ready for a wedding we were attending, and got us water when we got back that night. Rooms are very comfortable, great to have so much choice at breakfast (great veggie options).
Karen (8/5): We had a great trip, The hotel is lovely but you do need to address a couple of things. - Location. Pub and breakfast were great. Rooms were too hot. I eventually had to leave a note to not open the shades as they were letting in the sun and made room way too hot. The bathroom didn’t have a shade at all so was like a sauna when we got up due to the sun which was miserable. When we left at 5:00 am on the Sunday a young still drunk young guy without a shirt really nice hotel was wandering your halls asking for a lift. That was a little disconcerting.

GARY (9/5): Beautiful rooms, great staff, brilliant breakfast. All round great stay. - Loads to like but breakfast really stood out for me. Excellent… Only criticism was bar a bit on the small side. Probably only seats for about 20 folk so difficult to get a seat. Defo would describe as cosy!!

The room tea and coffee facilities, lack of really. 1 each of a tea bag, a peppermint tea bag and a breakfast tea bag for 2 people rediculous. We bought our own pack. On the coffee side 2 packs of filter cofffee for use in a filter coffee machine. Again I bought my own jar of decaf coffee.

Mark (10/5): Rabbie Burns Room - Friendly welcoming staff. Decor and design. I was in Rabbie Burns Room. Spotless. Everything thoughtful and considerate. Breakfast in morning was exceptional and kept me going all day. I struggle to think of anything.
