• jade (7/5): - Les activités de Natalie sont super et top pour decouvrir l'ile et en comprendre un peu plus sur la culture ! C'est un lieu calme. Nous avons loué une chambre privée, c'est un bon rapport qualité/prix. Même si l'etablissement n'aime pas les remarques (même constructives) certaines choses sont à revoir... le message recu sur booking avant notre arrivée n'etait vraiment pas chaleureux et celui du depart encore moins.. Le contact avec le client est à revoir. Il serait bienvenue de mettre a disposition de quoi differencier les aliments dans le frigo (scotch ou bac par ex) et une petite poubelle dans les toilettes ou salle de bain pour les femmes.

• Emile (9/5): Lieu accueillant avec une bonne ambiance et les équipements suffisants pour un hostel - Hôtes accueillants et souriants, échanges avec les voyageurs, cuisine disponible, plage à proximité. Beaucoup d’art et de dessins, n’étant resté qu’une nuit difficile d’en dire plus, mais si j’avais pu je serais resté volontiers quelques jours de plus. Je pensais y trouver des vélos je crois que c’était écrit dans la description (à mettre à jour). Rien d’important, on peut en louer à Fare et en faire livrer si besoin il faut juste anticiper.

• Nicole (1/5): Terrible. They do not seem to care at all about their customers. - The mother that we met upon arrival was nice. The room in itself was ok, what you expect for the price. We are a couple traveling around the world and have stayed in many different places along the way. Unfortunately, our stay at Alaroots was significantly different in a negative way. The common areas and toilet were very unhygienic and not at all nice to be in (for example: you had to walk barefoot, but the floor was extremely dirty) and extremely isolated (20 minutes drive from the nearest supermarket). We immediately pointed out the conditions and asked the owner's mother if we could get a partial refund. She verbally agreed to refund three out of four days, after which we booked another place. She subsequently contacted her daughter, who refused to honor the agreement and communicated in a rude and arrogant manner. The daughter expressed several times that “it was not their problem” that we did not like the place, interrupted and was really not nice to us.  We spent many hours on the matter without getting either a refund or an acceptable stay. On this basis, we cannot recommend the place. Please read the owner's responses to previous negative reviews if you have any doubts about whether our experience was an isolated incident.

A shelf in the rooms would be good so bags don't need to be on the sandy floor. Basic showers - but all you really need there Clean and social - with a lovely owner. The place is not locked and anyone can walk in off the street. No lockers in the room available (I know it's generally a safe place - but going off for the day and having a locker for passport and such things would be great).

Nathalie est très accueillante, et partage sa culture d'une façon très divertissante. L'auberge est sur Huahine iti, donc excentrée par rapport à Fare, mais avec un scooter c'est parfait. Es gab Gemeinschaftsabende, dadurch kam man schnell mit allen in Kontakt und lernte auch etwas über die Kultur. Alle waren sehr herzlich. In der Unterkunft hat man alles was man braucht, Bad, warme Dusche und eine kleine Küche mit Kühlschrank zur freien Benutzung. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Nichts
• Adrien (10/5): Un séjour inoubliable, rempli de partage - Un immense merci aux responsables et à toute leur famille pour leur accueil incroyable ! Rarement j’ai rencontré des personnes aussi bienveillantes et authentiques. Chaque jour, ils sont présents pour discuter, partager un moment, proposer une activité — ouvrir une noix de coco, râper pour faire le lait, tresser des objets en feuilles de palmier, découvrir les danses, paréos, etc. Certains soirs, ils cuisinent pour tout le monde de grands repas typiques (poisson cru au lait de coco, uru, riz, poulet, corn beef…) dans une ambiance conviviale et généreuse. On arrive avec le sourire, on repart le cœur rempli. Merci encore pour ces moments simples et inoubliables ❤️ Ne pas être resté plus.
• Leonie Anabel (7/5): - Preiswerte Unterkunft und gut zum Schlafen. Es ist jedoch kein Hostel, bei dem ich einen wow-effekt hatte oder gerne länger geblieben wäre, daher die Bewertung "gut". Den Gemeinschaftsbereich mit Küche fand ich nicht sonderlich einladend um lange zu verweilen. Kontakte für eine gute Rollervermietung ist vorhanden. Da es abends kein roulotte oder ähnliches in der Nähe gibt kochen die meisten. Die Küche ist jedoch definitiv nicht dafür ausgelegt, dass dort 10 Personen halbwegs zeitgleich essen möchten. Einige Teller mehr wären super. Ansonsten hat die Küchenausstattung das nötigste. Es hängt natürlich viel davon ob, wer zum gleichen Zeitpunkt da ist. Bei mir waren es Zeitweise sonst nur Franzosen. Kurzzeitig würde dann mal Englisch gesprochen, aber nach spätestens 5 Minuten sind sie wieder ins französische gefallen. Aber dafür kann die Unterkunft natürlich nichts.

La chambre pour trois était très bien, il y avait aussi une cuisine et un frigo à disposition, mais on retiendra surtout des rencontres avec des gens super sympa, et l'acceuil exceptionnel de Nathalie et sa famille. Les petites animations tressage, nouage de paréo, danse tahitienne... gratuitement ont vraiment fait la différence. Merci Alaroots, on reviendra !

• Laurène (10/5): Inoubliable - J’ai passé un merveilleux séjour chez Alaroots à Huahine. Natalie est une hôte exceptionnelle, toujours souriante et bienveillante. Elle nous a initiée à la danse tahitienne et a partagé de belles histoires sur les Îles Sous-le-Vent. Avec elle, on se sent comme en famille : une vraie mamie qui accueille avec chaleur et générosité. Un lieu plein d’authenticité où je me suis sentie immédiatement chez moi.
• Verena (3/5): You get what you pay for: not much! - The hosts are very friendly and try to teach something about Polynesian culture. I liked the village the place was at even if it’s far away from everything and the hostel doesn’t offer pick up. You get what you pay for: not much! This is a very cheap place, which can be great since everything else on the island is expensive. But don’t expect much here. You’re basically living in a trash-strewn area, with large piles of garbage around the house. The house itself is a ramshackle structure made of corrugated metal, and you sleep on pallets with very thin mattresses or even in a freight container. Cockroaches are present, and overall cleanliness is lacking. At times, there were 21 people in a space of just 40 sqm – extremely cramped. But hey, you did choose to pay very little. That being said, it would take very little effort to improve this place, yet unfortunately, no effort is made.

Ils proposent plein d'activitées à faire sur place (atelier de danse, apprendre à faire du lait de coco...) . Il s'agit d'une auberge et la chambre pour 2 est située à l'étage de leur propre maison. Si vous voulez vivre au plus proche des polynésiens, découvrir leur culture, partager un bon moment avec eux, ce logement est fait pour vous. Encore merci, ce fut un plaisir d'apprendre à faire du lait de coco. Les moustiques, mais c'est normal d'en avoir.. ;)

• Cécile (7/5): Robots et belles rencontres - Ce lieu est super pour faire des rencontres, le fait qu’on puisse participer à des activités ensemble au sein même de l’auberge permet de tisser des liens facilement. Étant donné le peu de voyageurs présents durant mon séjour, Natalie m’a laissé une chambre seule pour mes 4 nuits sur place , c’était vraiment très confortable merci ! Merci pour cette énergie que tu déploies avec ton mari pour nous proposer une si belle soirée culturelle. En revanche, si la tendance en Polynésie et pour un rythme calme et détente, les horaires avec Natalie sont d’or ! Prenez garde au retard ! Il n’y a pas de poubelles accessibles depuis l’intérieur, ce n’est pas très pratique.

• Gracie (7/5): Quiet and local - Natalie was always asking how I was doing when she was around. It is a great price and is in a local community on the island. She also shared the so history and culture with us one night. Showing us how to tie traditional dresses and skirts and some dances. The dorm beds are just mattresses on pallets, and some photos on the booking sites would help set expectations. The setup is very basic and feels patched together. There wasn't any anti-mosquito protection provided, unlike other places I stayed, so I had to layer on bug spray constantly. The hostel wasn't very social during my stay, though that may vary. I only speak English, which made things a little harder, but that's not the hostel's fault. The closest beach is about a 45-minute walk/hike away, and when I went, part of the main public beach was closed for a private charter lunch two days in a row. I'd recommend renting a scooter it's pretty much a necessity to get around.

Et toi Nathalie tu es Innoubliable et gravés dans nos cœurs à jamais! Sans toi, l’expérience aurait été bien moins chouette. Tu as su tout changer ! Maruru Les équipements sont des plus basic Pas de clés ou cadenas sur la chambre double, ça nous a beaucoup dérangé étant en tour du monde c’est la première fois que ça nous arrive et nous transportions beaucoup de matériel important avec nous.

• Liana (9/5): Authentic experience on Huahine iti - Host was extremely nice and helpful. She took care of all the guests and even organized activities for us. Village is amazing! Our hostel was the only guesthouse in the village and it was extremely authentic experience. Local people were friendly and helpful. They were training for the dance festival. Rooms need a bit of an improvement.

Be prepared for a potentially reactive environment if any issues arise.

• Ziga (9/5): Very nice place to stay for a budget - Great place to meet new people, i stayed in private room which was very comfortable, there are 3 separate shower facilities in which two of them have toilets so there is more than enough. There is a fridge and a functional kitchen, so there is nothing else that you would need. Nathalie is a really great host with lots of energy and spirit. For the price it is very awesome place to stay, just keep in mind you need a car/motorbike to get around. Maruuru! There was nothing not to like

Natalie's daughter also helped us hire a car for an incredible rate from a local company - which saves us a load of money and was very patient with our rudimentary french skills!! Tata is very kind and shows you the surroundings and their dances, cultural customs. She has a cute little daughter who dances beautifully too. Depending on the length of your stay you will learn how to make bracelets, flower crowns and how to open a coconut. Lovely hosts that keep you entertained.

• Axel (10/5): Exceptional - The team was exceptional and made the trip amazing. The activities and good vibes are immaculate. You cannot come to Huahine and not stay at ALAROOTS. The beds are comfortable and it's really good value for money. The location is a bit far from everything and there's nothing around.
