Guest Reviews
- Michelle (8/5): Perfect break in a very large and comfortable house - Very large, comfortable house. Spotlessly clean. Excellent value for money. Excellent communication from host.
- Mrshillen (8/5): Large comfortable farm house - Welcome basket in the kitchen was lovely and kitchen itself was beautifully decorated with an AGA cooker. House was warm and welcoming on arrival. The house has plenty of space and for large families like ours it was great. Lock on the upstairs bathroom door didn’t work and mattress in the main bedroom wasn’t particularly comfortable for me.
- Pauline (10/5): Fabulous farmhouse decorated to a high standard, comfortable, clean and very family friendly. - This is a beautiful farmhouse, exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Very family friendly. Lots of lovely touches. Really enjoyed the stay here.
- Susan (10/5): Fabulous home away from home! - Lovely home from home property! Everything we needed was provided including a very generous welcome basket with breakfast items and treats! Lovely touch, house is obviously well loved and well looked after. Located close to town by car. Only minor issue we had was there was only one bathroom, there’s an additional toilet downstairs but only one shower/bath. We were only there for one night so it didn’t bother us much, house sleeps I think 10 people so one shower could be an issue.
- Philippa (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous property. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely touch, leaving scones and pancakes for us and some essentials provided.
Only very small thing that let's it down is the shower. Poor pressure.
Will definitely come back, when staying in the area 😊
- Grace (10/5): the perfect getaway - we loved the decor and it was the perfect size for our group, we had the best time thannyou so much! that we didn’t book another night! 🤣
- Sarel (7/5): Good -
- Amy (10/5): Hosts were lovely and made the whole arrival as easy as possible with good directions and instructions for the keys etc - Spacious and homely with Christmas decorations!! N/A
- Aoife (10/5): Restful and cosy - Beautiful and with wonderful facilities and space
- Bernice (10/5): We have a lovely nights stay with plenty of space for all the family. - The breakfast and snacks basket was lovely and very much appreciated. Nothing negative at all, only our stay was too short which we will know for the next visit.
- Gilchrist (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (10/5): Great family home with lots of character. Real homely feel and a thoughtful gift basket of goodies and breakfast - Everything
- Tinkara (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. We loved the huge kitchen, where we ate our breakfast. Children loved the numerous rooms, where they could hide. And the old piano also was very popular among kids, since 2 of them are learning to play and the music was filling the house, whenever we were in. The welcoming basket was nice thing to see, not only for children. Nothing.
- Duane (8/5): Beautiful home, but... - Very spacious and decorated, really cute. We loved the gift basket to welcome us. Just having one and a half bathrooms for 7 people was not enough for a large group. Making it difficult for everyone to get a shower, especially in the mornings or the evenings. You had to either get up super early or stay up super late to even be able to get a shower because you had to wait your turn.
Not sure if something was freshly painted or stained, but there were terrible fumes lingering throughout the house, which caused several in our group to have headaches. We had to open windows while it was cold and raining just to try and air things out.
We know that this can't be helped, but with the house sitting right next to the road, the cars and trucks made it very noisy and hard to sleep, especially with having to open the windows because of the mentioned above fumes.
- Pat (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic accommodation. A very thoughtfull basket of food for breakfast with little treats. N/A
- Jordi (8/5): Very good -
- Gareth (9/5): Superb -
- Orla (9/5): Superb - Easy access, plenty room, good facilities. Great for family or group. Good communication from host.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful home - The place was spotless . Owners left us things for breakfast in the morning. Which was so kind our lift home was a bit late ...but they allowed us to sit on a bit more after check out to wait Nothing!!
- Donna (10/5): Absolutely wonderful experience. Couldn’t fault it. - So spacious and cosy at the same time!
- Megan (10/5): Beautiful house so homely and clean couldnt reccommend enough - Where do I start, on arrival Sonya had left us a note to say we were the first guests to stay in Gortaclare lodge along with things to make breakfast with was a lovely gesture! Sonya helped us out last min as the place we were suppose to stay cancelled on us and we had booked it booked long in advance due to attending a wedding in Corick house which was a 13 min drive away from Gortaclare lodge, this was a blessing is disguse because the lodge was just perfect and spacious for the group of us to stay! I am currently 6 month pregnant and the beds were so comfortable and the place itself was so clean and homely! Cant thank Sonya and Niall enough for a great experience and i wish many more to have the experience we had! Nothing everything was perfect!
