Guest Reviews
- Samantha (10/5): Home away from home. - Just back from a 3 night stay at Daffodil Cottage and it everything about it blew me away.
From the street, the cottage looks warm and inviting and has that charming country feel that makes you excited to step through the door.
On the inside, the property is cozy, well decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay.
The bed was super comfortable and the jet shower was amazing after a long day of walking!
I usually stay in Keswick when visiting The Lake District but couldn’t find any availability for my last minute trip, so, being just a 20 minute drive away, the location of the cottage was perfect for me.
Parking was relatively easy as I was out from 8am to 5pm each day, meaning I could use the parking disc that was provided between 5pm and 6pm until the on street restrictions were lifted.
Noel & Julia were easy to reach and very responsive, answering the few questions I had within minutes of me sending them through.
It’s clear a lot of thought has gone in to making this house feel like a home away from home and I would not hesitate to stay again 😊
- stuart (9/5): Comfortable, convenient and for the price, very good value for a central location.Would definately book again - Great location, very clean, plenty of kitchen equipment ( we never cooked but everything’s there if you need to ).Thought parking may be an issue after reading other reviews, but the hosts told us about a spot literally a minutes walk behind the cottage and we parked there all weekend coming and going with no problem getting space and it was free.We had a small issue when we arrived,we couldn’t find the towels but within minutes of me messaging the host, the lady was at the property to show us that they were in fact under the bed and the cleaner had forgot to put them out.Great communication right from booking the stay. Nothing not to like really,it was perfect for our needs.
- Lucy (8/5): Central, cosy and clean - We had a lovely 3 night stay here. The location was very central and close to shops, restaurants and the river. Everything we needed was within a short walk.
The hosts had left us a complementary bottle of prosecco which was a very nice and welcoming surprise.
The standard of the kitchen was very good with all the basics and necessities covered, such as tea bags, washing up liquid etc.
All the main kitchen appliances were very clean and in good working condition - like new.
The bathroom was a good size and the shower was great. We felt very at home here. Being able to see into the bathroom and toilet from the bedroom. The door had two frosted glass panels, but you could still clearly see if someone was sitting on the toilet.
Lack of space for suitcases - whilst the space generally felt cosy rather than small, we did feel like we were constantly having to move our suitcases out the way.
- victoria (9/5): We had a lovely stay and the position was perfect - The cottage was beautifully decorated. All kitchen appliances and cleaning products you could wish for.
The milk in The fridge and the Prosecco was a nice touch.
The towels were lovely and soft
- Lucas (7/5): - Very good location & cosy - sofa uncomfortable
- Liam (10/5): -
- Tina (7/5): Fairly comfortable but I wasn’t impressed at the cleanliness of the kitchen utensils and the bedding was horrible. Stain - Good location
- Liam (10/5): Lovely cottage and great location - It's a great location, there was everything we needed and it was very clean and tidy. We would definitely return here in the future! The only thing to mention was the smoke alarm being quite sensitive when we were cooking but it's good to know it works 😅
- Lawrence (10/5): - The cottage was beautiful. Lovely location, perfect for strolls, very scenic.
Julia and Noel are great hosts easy to contact.
I would stay at Daffodil cottage again and will recommend to friends.
Thankyou for the prosseco Cannot find fault

- Aliyah (10/5): Cozy little home from home - Clean. Tidy. Had everything you need for a short break. Location is spot on as well. Lovely little village. Parking is kinda annoying but when you’re out and about all day it’s not really an issue.
- Adrian (10/5): -
- Gaynor (10/5): - Thank you for a wonderful stay. The cottage was comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated and is central to Cockermouth. Superb!
- Sarah (8/5): A lovely cottage in the heart of Cockermouth. - The bedroom is very cosy and the location is good. The property is very clean.
- David (9/5): Lovely base for seeing the local sights . - Very clean and well appointed property. Lovely location . Very helpful info pack 👍
- Samantha (10/5): Like a home from home - It was very clean comfortable & close to all the amenities We liked everything
- Sarah (9/5): Beautifully decorated, cosy cottage close to Wordsworth House, Crummock water and Buttermere - Location was perfect. Close to coffee shops and town and perfect for us as we have family at two different ends of Cockermouth. Cosy and comfortable and nicely decorated. Parking wasn’t easy. We parked up just to unload just round the corner in the Coast visitor area quite late at night and got chased by a resident shouting at us that we can’t park there! Wasn’t a problem. We were happy to move on once unloaded. Found a spot on the high street until 9am.
