• Amanda (1/5): Worst accommodation I have ever booked in my life. Bitterly disappointed and still angry. - What did I like? NOTHING. The house was a mess, kitchen filled with ants because it’s never cleaned properly, BBQ had grease and old fried egg stuck to it, which leads me to the pool. The ONLY reason I booked this place, was to have my own private pool. The pool was unusable. They claim the vacuum recently broke, but the pool hadn’t been vacuumed in months. Sludge at the bottom of the pool mixed with previous guests sunscreen remnants - dead skin and filled with dead insects. When I questioned the pool, someone was sent the next afternoon and dumped some chlorine in it. I was told to wait until the next day. It barely did a thing. I stood in the pool, but couldn’t put my head anywhere near the water. I complained again, and again someone was sent the following day and again it was not vacuumed. There was sludge built up on the floor of the pool. So I basically had one “pool” day out of 2 weeks, and even that was gross and NOT relaxing. Everything. The beds were so hard, you may as well have slept on the floor. The linen and “doona’s” were cheap crap. No toilet paper on arrival or sugar. Barely anything left in the products that were supplied. Everything was old. The “games” they claim to provide are all broken. Completely useless. The side gate is unlocked and the pool person just came through the gate, didn’t even knock on the door. Security is also therefore totally compromised. Linen left on the clothesline for me to collect. Overflowing bins outside. One small dirty bin is provided for the entire inside of the house. It is clear that the owners do not care about the property. They do the very bare minimum and not even that. I contacted the owners. THREE times. I accidentally left a photo frame with a picture of my dead nana and an empty butterfly cocoon that she gave me before dying. It is extremely sentimental and irreplaceable. I completely understand it’s my fault, but surely the owner could post it back? I told them I would pay. I also left a day early and they were to refund me for that night. I have not heard back from them. I find that to be absolutely disgusting. All I want is my photo frame back. They can keep the refund. But they literally won’t even answer me. This was a well earned, well needed vacation and it was completely ruined by the accommodation. I certainly won’t be coming back or using booking.com again. Not returning my property and ignoring my requests is inexcusable in my opinion. NO STARS. NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING good to say.

• JOHN (8/5): - Each bedroom had a heater. Clean and comfortable place to stay. A firm pillow to choose from, but that's a personal thing.
• Anne (7/5): - Clean, comfortable. Major health and safety issue NO HANDRAIL on entry stairs, curtains coming off track, front door lock worked intermittently. Bedside table would help in single bedroom.

• Kylie (7/5): Nice place, but need a little more attention to cleaning and maintenance to make it a great stay! - The salt water pool was incredible - the weather was just warm enough for us to enjoy it! Plenty of bedding provided so also a great stay for a family! There’s a pod coffee machine included which is a luxury (you should include this in your advert as I don’t recall seeing this mentioned), kitchen is setup with most of what you need for an enjoyable stay. On first impression, the house wasn’t super clean. Surfaces not properly wiped down, dead bugs/spiders (in kitchen and bedrooms), animal hair on coach (unfortunately this made me sneeze due to allergies every time I sat on the couch), used coffee pod left in machine, ashtray on outdoor table with a cigarette butt in it, old dog poos from previous animal on grass. The house is advertised with having pool towels. Unfortunately all we could find were bath towels in the linen cupboard. There were plenty of bath towels provided however no washers or hand towels. The one hand towel was black and again was covered in animal hair. The house is also advertised as having pool toys - we could only find toys left out in the sun so they were all brittle and cracked, the pool noodles were all broken into pieces. There were no instructions for the pool - suggest maybe adding some basic instructions to your guest stay booklet to ensure proper use and maybe remove pool toys and towels from being included. The dishwasher required some maintenance - the door latch doesn’t close properly which means it’s a bit temperamental turning on.

• karen (1/5): - I asked for a porta cot and there wasn't one supplied as agreed by owner. House wasn't clean. Outside bin was so full there wasn't any room for our rubbish. Last guest bits and pieces left in rooms. Inside bin had rubbish in it. Wet sponge in kitchen. BBQ cleaner bottle left on bed. Toilet had poo spots in it. Pantry full of crumbs. Ash tray outside full of cigarettes. Bodily fluid stains on supposedly clean sheet in wardrobe. Disgusting. There was a crack in the loungers window

Better description of how to use should also have 'how to get out' since it took some trial and error...

• Claire (7/5): Summer at Clouston Cottage - Pet Friendly Large secured back yard Large salt water pool which was used every day. Really good shower pressure and temperature controlled water. There is no need to put on the cold water tap, just the hot water, and it's set by a panel in the wall. Centrally located to Bendogo, Castlemaine, Echuca, and local wineries. The entrance lock is a really good idea and was easy to use. There is no need for a key. Property needs some TLC and a deep clean.  Bed was uncomfortable for us, the mattress was too hard.  The shower is slippy underfoot. I fell. More cleaning supplies, like Dettol Spray, Disnfectant and a dustpan and brush would help to maintain cleaning during stay.  Just a suggestion, but some shade cover poolside would be nice.

• Elizabeth (8/5): Nothing fancy but we had a great weekend away and host was great to deal with. Even got a 12pm checkout. - Great pool and bbq area. Nice cold aircon and basically everything you need for a short term stay. The door lock was tricky to use, would prefer a key tho.

As an Australian owned company who work away a lot staying in many homes we have never been so disappointed and disrespected during our stay. We will absolutely never be staying here again and I truly hope no one ever has to experience our stay.
• Lacunes (6/5): Comfortable accommodation - Great price for a family and comfortable beds A couple of issues that I contacted the host about. Main issue was a power issue, last night was spent with half the house without power contacted host straight away, yet to have a reply.
