Guest Reviews
- Sue (9/5): A comfortable, convenient property for my Kentmere Horseshoe walk but within 10 minutes of Bowness. Just a minute walk t - Clean, very comfortable bed. Easy to find. Walkable to village amenities. Nothing.

- Kirsty (10/5): 2nd visit and already booked our 3rd x - Great location, everything that you could want or need provided at the bungalow. Nothing!
- Melissa (9/5): - Spotlessly clean, kitchen well equipped. Beautiful views. All perfect đ€©
- Mark (9/5): Really enjoyed it - Great location, very clean, Would have liked a dishwasher
- Christine (9/5): Great location, quiet, wonderfully equipped and spotless detached bungalow with parking. - Location, parking, cleanliness, log fire, log store, fire ready to light was lovely, well equipped kitchen,
Blinds and curtain, windows that open, easy to use central heating, neutral decoration and ornamentâs appreciated None of the following were a problem and didnât spoil the mini break, just personal preference, Little rugs in bedrooms, curled up , moved them to side. Plug in scented air fresheners not required, plus would have liked a footstool to use in bathroom to open window( as 5â, but other member could reach!) so not a problem.
- Lucy (9/5): -
- Ben (8/5): -
- Cheryl (8/5): Cozy and comfortable - Owner was contactable and very helpful.
Fantastic location, Lovely views.
The village is a pleasant walk from the property and has everything you need. Good coffee shops, a lovely pub and a well stocked convenience store.
The property has beautifully soft bedding, not your usual universal bedding (could do with king size quilt on double bed for quilt thief)
14 year old daughter loved the loft bedroom, which was lovely and cosy.
Wellcome pack was well stocked with tea, coffee, and biscuits. Even the dogs were thought of with some tasty treats.
Loads of wood for the log burner.
The property was beautifully clean (apart from shower/bath) The bathroom is in desperate need of updating, itâs very dated compared to the rest of the property! Shower screen was dirty. We didnât use shower just used bath. The rest of the bathroom was lovely and clean though.
Boiler noisy in the master bedroom (canât be helped) but did disturb sleep on 1st night, as it was a really cold night and clicked on a few times.

- Allan Terence (7/5): - Nice clean bungalow in ideal location to access the Lake District. Bathroom needs a total replacement and with regard to pet friendly the garden is not secure. New bathroom required and garden not secure with regard to dogs. Dog cannot be let out into garden as they can easily get out on main road.
- Garbett (10/5): -
- Freemantle (10/5): Highly recommended - Great location, very spacious, clean, everything provided and felt like home. Nothing
- Ogilvy (10/5): Lovely stay in Staveley - The bungalow was clean & very comfortable. Linen, towels, toiletries, cleaning & kitchen essentials all provided. Lovely quiet village location. Please include the request to strip the beds when departing in the Guest Info folder as I didn't read the message until after we left & I felt awful that we hadn't done it.
- Thomas (9/5): - Excellent communication from the host, comfortable stay.
- Helen (9/5): - Very comfortable property - everything you would need was thought of even treats for the dog. Lovely gardens. Off road parking a bonus. Good location for seeing the Lake District.
- Gillian (9/5): Tidy cottage in convenient location - Very clean with good supply of kitchen equipment. Beds were comfortable with enough storage for a short break. Host was easy to contact, both before and on arrival. Not a lot of parking space and the spiral staircase could potentially be a problem for access to 3rd bedroom
- Dianne (10/5): Very comfortable stay , excellent location to explore the lakes - Great location , well equipped and very very clean.
- philippa (8/5): - Location was good
Comfortable house Bathroom needed a complete refit
- Debbie (10/5): Lovely Weekend Away - It was basically home from home. Everything you need and well stocked. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The rain, but that wasn't their fault lol.
- Dalia (10/5): Exceptional - Location brilliant. The house beautiful. Owners very helpful. Definitely come back.
- Caroline (6/5): Great location, with easy access to lots of lakes and villages by car or public transport - Great location, everything you needed there. Lovely places to sit inside and outside to watch the world go by. Good communication from the host. Wifi signal was a bit poor at times, shower pressure was poor. Freezer door hits cupboard door so you have to to remember it shuts completely.
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Perfect for an enjoyable 5 night stay - It just ticks all the boxes, spotless, quality fittings and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. They even had the dining table set, a nice bottle of Proseco and a small bowl of goodies left on the kitchen bench. You can always tell when the owners take pride in their holiday rental , thankyou for a wonderful 5 night stay. Nothing at all
- Wei (9/5): Nice location with easy access (public transport or driving) to famous towns in lake district. -
- Lucy (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Kirsty (10/5): Perfect. Couldnât fault in any way - weâve already rebooked! - Great location, a short walk into the village. Bus stop directly outside property for those wanting or needing to use the local transport. Beautiful small enclosed garden. Bungalow is an excellent size and has all the facilities you could need. I travelled with my parents and my 2 children. My son is 10 and loved having his own space in his room upstairs. Both doubles downstairs were very good sizes. Log fire in lounge was very cosy! Plenty of cooking utensils, very clean and tidy. Nothing.
- David (10/5): Lovely place in a great location - Great location, value for money
- Glen (10/5): Exceptional - Ideal location for Kendal & Bowness. Nice cosy cottage quiet and nice views. Shower could have been more powerful.
- Courtney (8/5): Great but not a secure garden - Lovely bungalow in a great location and it was well maintained, lovely views and lovely walks nearby. It was great having a full English in the conservatory. The garden wasnât secure for our dogs and it led on to a main road so we were having to take them out to the toilet on the lead regular.
- Oliver (9/5): Superb -
- Margarita (10/5): We had a lovely stay and enjoyed ourselves at Wayside Bungalow very much. The bungalow was equipped with everything you -
- John (8/5): Very good - The cottage was really comfy and in a lovely friendly village. We had everything we needed and especially enjoyed the log fire on an evening The steps leading up to the property were a little tricky for my elderly father. There was one handrail at the top but could do with another half way down
- Robyn (9/5): Superb - Lovely accomodation, great location.
- Nicola (10/5): A relaxing stay in a beautiful location - A lovely clean and spacious bungalow in a great location. Enjoyed returning to the fire in the living room after a day out.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay. We especially loved the fire place.
- Kate (8/5): Very good - Lovely place, good communication from the host, we had a great stay. Close to nice walks, coffee shops, pubs etc. very comfortable place to stay
- James (10/5): Very enjoyable stay. Thank you - Lovely cosy property. Fabulous wood burning stove for winter evenings. Owner really helpful with info pre arrival Nothing
- BogusĆaw (8/5): Perfect spot for a lovely weekend - Clean, everything you need is there, fireplace a great bonus especially in November đ
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): Magical , perfect - Owner very nice. Place clean and comfortable, nice fireplace . Great facilities.
- Cheryl (9/5): Cosy and clean bungalow - The bungalow was spotlessly clean. We had a bottle of finest prosecco left for us as well as fresh roses on the dining table. The beds were plush and comfy. The log burner was amazing, especially after a wet soggy climb up mountains. The bungalow was set in a beautiful location. A great price. We would all stay again if we come to the area and would highly recommend... Thank you The only points I'd make is the bathroom could do with an update but it's was completely fine and again spotlessly clean and maybe the addition of a dishwasher would be nice.
- Mark (10/5): A Hidden Gem - Lovely modern cottage in quiet village location with very homely feel.
Includes sunroom with picturesque views onto the surrounding hills.
Beds were comfortable and included great doonas and pillows.
Also furnished with large fridge/freezer, good washing machine and great lounge chairs.
Off-street parking for small car
Plenty of Tea/Coffee/Sugars, including coffee pods, plus hand sanitizer
Extra provisions including bottle of wine, can of soft drink, Kendall Mint Cakes and Ginger biscuits Nothing we did not like
- Rai (10/5): Had a great time. - The house is beautiful, it was lovely and worth the price , very clean and tidy with best morning view ever.
Perfect location with private parking.
- Ellen (7/5): Bedroom layout not as expected but great stay anyway - Great location in Staveley walking distance to amenities and a good park for children, and well placed for the Lake District.
Comfortable beds and a good kitchen and lounge etc. Heating worked well when needed. Group of 2 couples and 1 child. Bedroom layout has been changed since the pictures were taken which works for some people (2 double bedrooms now downstairs) but it was a potential issue for us with a toddler who sleeps in her own room (with travel cot) - as the single room is now up the narrow spiral staircase. We managed by carrying her up and down very carefully and spending no time up there other than to sleep (no stair gate).
It will be great if the listing details and pictures can be updated as itâs really valuable information and will help inform potential guests.
- Sara (10/5): Lovely hosts and lovely property in a stunning location. - The location and quality of the property. Nothing at all.
- Marie (10/5): fabulous stay for that we needed , lovely house , good location - perfect - lovely house for the family
home from home and lovely location
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Waqas (8/5): We enjoyed our stay there - Location is really good đ Nothing in particular
- Elissa (10/5): Excellent - Property was in a great location. The play park was just a 10 minute walk away for the kids. The private garden was ideal for the dog. The location was perfect being a short drive away from Windermere and Kendal. The bungalow was well equipped with all the essentials we needed. Nothing the property was perfect for our needs.
- Anita (9/5): Great place to stay for easy access to the South Lakes. - For a group of five adults the property was well equipped and spacious both indoors and outdoors. Everything was clean with lots of welcoming touches and the host was very helpful in providing information and coals for the barbecue. The location was excellent for our group being on the doorstep of some lovely walks and away from the crowds in the bigger towns which were also easily accessible just a few miles away. Just wish we could have stayed longer but we only had three nights there. (Not a problem for our group but just to say there are steps up to the house, the 3rd bedroom is up a spiral staircase and only one bathroom). Nothing.
- Ellen (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay - The lovely added touches , flowers , table set , clean , smelt amazing , little soaps , spacious , doggie biscuits and spare bowl Nothing it was great
- Natalia (10/5): Really great place and great location - Loved the little extras. Super dog friendly as well Personal preference but bigger bed in main room would be nice
- Jessica (8/5): Peaceful stay with easy accesss to amenities - The bungalow has been prepared really well, almost hotel like. It was in a beautiful location and walking the dog around the area and sitting outside on the benches was something we all enjoyed doing.
- Jade (10/5): Exceptional - Great location
