- Simone (9/5): I truly recommend the amazing family and guesthouse. - If you want to live a local experience I highly recommend this place. The place is owned by an amazing albanian family; they were really nice and kind. The arrival at the place is very typical as well. It’s hard to reach but they will help you a lot with pictures and videos

- Gabriella (9/5): Zeer stille kamer vriendelijke eigenaar en allerleukste katten! Zeer aan te raden! Erg goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding - Zeer stille kamer, geen verkeer of honden of hanen! Vriendelijke eigenaar, goede ligging, twee zeer leuke katten!
- Sandro (10/5): Herzliches Zuhause und Familie! - Frühstück
- Angad (10/5): A very lovely and well located place where you are welcomed in the warmest way, and you'll immediately feel at home. - The place is BEAUTIFUL and the hosts were so so so lovely. They don't speak english, but this was not a problem at all!! One night we even sat down with all of us drunk raki together, we had a blast. :-) Their son speaks very well english and we communicated with him through the phone if we had a question. He'd translate between us and his parents. We had a lovely time and felt at home right away!!!
The location is amazing!!!!!! -
- Ronald (9/5): -
- daniel (9/5): - Proche du centre, bon petit déjeuner,
famille sympathique, guest house bien équipée, confortable ect.....
- James (9/5): Unique and Uplifting Arber! - Sami and Victor are a joy to behold in their rustic and homely little haven close to Gjirocaster city centre. Having only a tiny smattering of English proves no barrier in communication for them and they go out of their way to make you feel a part of the family. The bedroom, though a bit on the small side, is a haven of peace and relaxation. This, coupled with daily visits to your room from their adorable cat, Kiko, makes for the perfect ambience. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty, and is regularly supplemented with the occasional glass (or two) of freshly-brewed raki.
Guesthouse Arber is unique in every way. A stay of any length here is the experience of a lifetime, one that you will treasure and remember for many years to come. Nothing. All good.

- Takeshi (9/5): Comfortable stay in summer vacations - I feel as if I were in a medievil house. I can't find the property at a glance.

- Sam (10/5): - Wonderful guesthouse with a very comfortable room, Especially the nicely renovated modern bathrooms. Despite a language barrier we were warmly greeted by the friendly owner who accommodated a last minute change of stay and allowed us to check in earlier in the morning. The location was fantastic just a couple of minutes away from the main restaurants and shops but away from any noise. We were also given a fantastic breakfast in the house’s beautiful courtyard.
- Stuart (10/5): Perfect Gjirokaster Stay! - Perfect little guesthouse tucked away near the bazaar and best bits of Gjirokaster! We were so well looked after by Arber and his family, the breakfast was delicious and we felt very welcomed! Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
- Vladimir (10/5): Great experience - I'd highly recommend this guesthouse, because besides the fact that it's a good place to stay (clean room which keeps the heat out, great location, great value), it's also a fantastic experience as you get to stay with a very nice local family. Arber's mom cooked us very delicious breakfast every morning and helped us with everything we needed. She doesn't speak English, but we still found it quite easy to communicate. Would highly recommend a stay here!
- Lena (8/5): Very good - Small guesthouse managed by a lovely family. A bit tricky to find but very close to the old town center and yet super quiet.
The room is small and basic but comfortable for a short stay. Lovely breakfast in the patio.
- Graciela (10/5): Comfortable room in an authentic Albanian house. - Arber and his mom are sweet, lovely people. Arber is always available to respond to questions. This is a room at the family house. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a nice bed and good bedding. The private bathroom is very comfortable as well, the shower has a very good water pressure, and toiletries are provided. The house is close to Gjirokaster's old bazaar but in a quiet area so a good sleep is ensured. Arber's mom makes a delicious homemade breakfast and she is very kind. I strongly recommend this room for those looking for a relaxed experence in an Albanian home. Although it may seem a little difficult to find the house, Arber will send you a couple of videos explaining how to find the place. The house is within walking distance from the main square and all the attractions. Everything was OK.
- George (4/5): Disappointing - It's in the old town If you want an original Balkan experience for a day try this accommodation. Very simple room somwhe in the old town, hard to find. You must walk in a path for 2 minutes.
- Judith (9/5): Very friendly family - Arber and his family were very nice and welcoming. The room was big and we had a good shower. Also the breakfast was a plus.
When we arrived we got some water and later we got some fruit, which was very nice. Parking can be a bit difficult. Maybe some instructions how to get there by car, because parts of the city centre are only reachable by foot.
- Kiki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (10/5): Would definitely stay again - The stay was perfect, I felt extremely welcome, the room was spacious, the shower was good, the location was wonderful, just a few minutes from the busiest area of the Bazaar, but still very quiet. The property's cat is adorable and the breakfast is delicious. You can also feel in the details that the room was made with great care for guests, from the well-lit mirror in the bathroom to the powerful hairdryer.
- Stav (10/5): Homestay with a lovely family! - Home stay with Arber and his lovely family (including the cat Kiko!). Very warm and hospitable people - best breakfast we had in Albania! Room was traditional, comfortable and clean. Ground floor. Excellent location for walking around the old town. Because it's the old town parking was not easy, but Arber helped us - just get in touch!
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - The family was so lovely and beautiful, the guesthouse is in a perfect location, steps away from the bazaar. The breakfast was simple but oh so yummy and varied both days we were there. Check-in and out was super easy. The bed could be comfier, and we weren't huge fans of the smell of the shower drain.
- Takhir (9/5): Superb - Very lovely guesthouse, cozy room and a beautiful view from the window, located just steps away from the old town, a simple homemade breakfast It is a guesthouse, so you are staying with the family that lives there. It's not a negative, just something to think about if privacy is something that's important for you. The bathroom could've been a bit cleaner. Would've loved a coffee or a hot drink with my breakfast
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -

- Rose (10/5): A wonderful stay in a real local family home - Arber and his parents were perfect hosts. Their guesthouse is 5 minutes walk to the Old Bazaar area so very close to all places I wanted to see. Arber even got up at 5am to take me by car to the bus station for the 8 hour bus ride to Athens. He made me toast to take. He also bought a much brighter light bulb for my room so I could read my book at night. There was plenty of hot water for showers, the bed was very comfortable, breakfasts were great and I had everything I needed so my Gjirokaster visit was wonderful. - All was great. I definitely recommend taking a 5 Euro taxi ride if you arrive at the bus station. Gjirokaster paths are mostly very steep and have lose gravel. That's true of the path to Arbor's Guesthouse too.
- Karen (9/5): Wonderful stay overall, terrific family, generous breakfast, lovable kitty cat. - Warm, friendly and welcoming family and kitty. Enormous breakfasts. Great location between downtown and the old bazaar (but closer to bazaar) making exploring easy. The outdoor area was very cluttered. Construction was going on to build a kitchen for guests; it will be really nice for future guests but it made my stay
less comfortable because the outdoor area was not inviting.
- Darren (9/5): A memorable stay at a very welcoming guest house. - Lovely family who took time to chat with us and make us feel welcome. Breakfast outside with grapes from the garden. Easy walk to the old town and just far enough to be quiet. Extremely friendly cat!
- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- Louis (10/5): Cute and comfy guesthouse with very warm welcoming hosts - We had such a lovely stay at Guesthouse Arber. The hosts were so lovely and welcoming. The room was really comfortable and in a perfect location a 2 minute walk to the old bazaar. We would love to come back if we are ever in Gjirokaster again. Make sure you give their cat Kiko a pat too, he’s adorable. WiFi is very fast/reliable. The only small complaint we would make was that there weren’t very clear instructions for finding the property, which is hidden down an alleyway and around a corner. Simply taking some photos with descriptions would help.
- Lolly (10/5): Thank you for hosting us! - Sami and Viktor are warm, welcoming, and cheerful. They helped us do laundry and we're available to help with anything. They made us a special vegan breakfast. You are in a quiet area, close to everything and very comfortable. There is a lot of care put into Arber. If you have a car we recommend parking lower down on the hill because the street becomes narrow.
- Hayley (9/5): Authentic home stay - Arber & his parents are the most hospital & generous hosts, you are literally in their home & you can join them in the living room or for a cup of tea. Lovely little breakfast & mountain tea. Arber was great with communication & answering any questions.
The location is just a short walk up to main centre, tucked away quietly, which I liked.
Kiko the cat is cheeky & friendly! Just so others are aware, the room is very dark, no views. It was fine for me & my stay.
- Isis (10/5): The best stay in Gjirokaster!! - The stay was perfect! The location is great, close to the historic center and yet completely silent and calm. The bedroom and the bed are both super comfy, breakfast is insanely good, but nothing compares to the hospitality of this amazing family! Arber offered to take us to the bus station, and as if that wasn’t kind enough, he took us to see a lake I mentioned wanting to visit on the way. During our stay, he, his lovely mother, and adorable father were the best hosts we could have hoped for. And we can’t forget the cutest cat, Kiko, who played with us all the time ❤️ thank you so much Arber, it was a pleasure staying with you! Nothing, everything was amazing
- Vivian (9/5): Quiet home stay minutes from the bazaar - Lovely room with nice views in the family home. Hosts couldn’t do enough for us, helped with our bags as property is not on a street. Nice breakfast. Good AC and WiFi. No English spoken but we got by.
- Du (10/5): Perfecto! - The best guesthouse I ever had! The hosts are super nice and very helpful! I was welcomed with icey water, coffee and a cup of raki.
The room is spacious, cozy and clean with powerful AC, washing machine and clothes dryer, and their little cat Giko is soooo cute! Nothing, everything is perfect.
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly hosts, clean room and quiet (but excellent location). Nothing.
- Svenja (10/5): I’ll come back! - This was my favorite place in Albania! The hosts are so nice and prepare delicious breakfast on the terrace. It’s really central and quiet. I felt like home!
- Oluwadara (10/5): Exceptional - Had a home made breakfast. The hosts were lovely and polite.
- Muslim (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place, a room in a private house, feels like at grandma's. Hosts are great, the location is very good near the main street, not far from the castle
- Plantinga (10/5): Exceptional - Arber and his family were very friendly. Which made you feel like you were welcome and at home
- Sindi (9/5): Superb -
- Dennis (10/5): We loved it - Arber and his family are amazing hosts. The room is in a car free zone just next to the Old Bazar. Arber’s mother prepared delicious breakfast for us once with a delicious pumpkin pie and the other day with chocolate waffles. To stay at this guesthouse is an experience you should not miss in Gjirokaster.
- Srimanta (8/5): Very good - Our stay at Angjelo's house was superb. It is very close to the Old Bazar. Angjelo was extremely kind to pick and drop us off at the bus station as we were carrying heavy luggage. That was really a very kind gesture on his part.
Angjelo's mother was adorable and gave us a nice breakfast.
The room was cozy, and the WiFi worked very well.
- Jenny (9/5): A bit like a home stay with all the comfort you require. - Great breakfast especially the pumpkin cake. Central but in a very quiet location. We felt very welcome by all the family.
- Lukas (10/5): Exceptional - It really was a local experience to stay with Angjelo and his family. They had just opened their guestroom when we stayed there - they prepared delicious, traditional food and were happy to share tips for the city. Perfect accommodation!
