The apartment itself and the surrounding pool area were stunning. The breakfast was fab! Barbara the host was extremely helpful with everything - from arranging taxis and helping to organise trips. We spent five wonderful days in this guesthouse, breakfasting under a baobab tree, sleeping to the sounds of birds, and breathing in the ocean from the balcony. Barbara gave us a Rolex, a traditional Uganda dish, as well as chapatis, ginger tea, and amazing mango juice. A huge thank you to all the staff. Sorry for waking you up late at night when we were leaving on safari, and thank you for continuing to show us your hospitality. Best wishes and blessings to the guesthouse! We remember you with great warmth.

There’s a lovely pool. The location is perfect with a short walk down to the beach, where you can find lots of very good restaurants and bars. We had a lovely holiday and we’re hoping to return next year! Nothing!

A short walk to the beach, and surrounded by many restaurant options. We wish we knew about this spot earlier in our trip. The staff were so kind, caring and helpful. Anlage selber war auch super gepflegt, sauber. Es gibt nichts negatives über diese Anlage zu sagen.

The studio is very spacious and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable long stay. It truly feels like a home away from home. The value for money is outstanding — we honestly believe it’s hard to find a better price-performance ratio anywhere else on the island. The entire property is always very well maintained and beautifully kept. The breakfast is delicious and offers a great start to the day. What really makes this place special, though, is the staff. Everyone is incredibly kind and welcoming — from the night porter to the housekeeping team and the General Manager. You genuinely feel cared for throughout your stay. We would definitely come back and can warmly recommend Baobab Bungalow to anyone looking for a relaxed and high-quality stay.

De powercuts op Zanzibar blijven altijd een verassing. Het gebeurde tijdens onze tweede avond maar ze hebben een solar systeem en voor de airconditioning in de avond een generator! Dus ook dit is heel fijn opgelost.

- Joseph (10/5): A home away from home ! - We couldn’t have dreamt of a better place to kick off our honeymoon! We felt extremely safe and comfortable at Baobab Bungalows, and found it was a true haven of peace. Barbara, our manager, was always eager to make sure we had the best time possible without any worry - hakuna matata ! It is very easy to book activities: they take charge of everything (driver, guide, etc.), at very fair prices. The drivers are always right on time, which helps to have no stress. Baobab is also super close to Jambiani beach, one of the best spots for kite surfers: it’s only a 5 min walk to get there, which makes the location ideal. We saw some people complaining in their reviews about power cuts; but they never lasted more than a few minutes, and they happen everywhere on the island (including in fancy restaurants). The fact that there is no restaurant on site was also no problem, as they are multiple restaurants very close by (3 to 5 min walk). We actually thought it made for a more quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Basically, we had a great time: we wholeheartedly recommend Baobab Bungalows to anyone visiting Zanzibar and looking for a unique experience of serenity, comfort and warmly welcoming vibes. A true home away from home !

- Alexandra (10/5): Everything you would want and more! - We loved everything! From the villa, to the staff, and to the host, everything was just perfect. Even before going Barbara offered us all the info that we needed to know, upon our arrival she was waiting for us and made sure everything was as we expected. The communication with her was exceptional. When we wanted to leave early in the morning for different day trips she made sure that we had breakfast prepared. When we wanted to visit some location she ordered us a taxi, even made us nail appointments! The staff is always smiling and they really focus on making the experience as nice as possible. The villa was just like in the pictures, if not even better!

Barbara manage this small hotel with great skill and experiance. It is clean everythere and every thing is in order - water is running well, it is pure and hot, electricity is powerfull enough and may be supplied from generator. Thus you don't meet problems common for the island. Small kitchen has every thing you need. The a/c are modern and noiseless though we din't need them much. And the private terrace was the favorit place to stay for our family. We were choosing between two options - the hotel with the pool and the hotel at the ocean front. We opted for the pool and were lucky because the beach (close enough from our bungalow) was not very good during low tide and midday heat. Sometimes it was not easy to get breakfast at due time

The sea studio we booked was tastefully decorated and the bed view was amazing. Barbara, the manager, went beyondd to help us with everythingg. This charismatic lady will sure make your stay as perfect as ours! This is a 100% beautiful honeymoon spot that you and your significant other need to book for yourselves. Ohhh and dont miss their chapati and avocado chutney for breakfast, SO GOOD🤤🤤 Ps: Maluum cave is 9 mins drive from baobab bungalows. A MUSTT SEE! Nothing! Was perfectt

El trato por parte de Barbara, la manager, IMPECABLE. Nos encomendó una empresa de taxi que utilizamos además para el resto del viaje también muy TOP. Tienen generador para los cortes de luz, y el desayuno muy rico servido en mesa. Poca agua caliente pero no afectó a nuestra comodidad.

- Mirella (10/5): Lovely accommodation at Baobab - Barbara was a very welcoming and helpful host, very lovely person. I stayed for 3 nights at Baobab Bungalows to wrap up my 4 weeks travels, and also managed to get a late check out as my departure was later in the evening. This was a very helpful touch, especially that I got pretty sick at the end and had to rest a lot. The loft that I booked was beautiful, with a sea view from the bed and lots of greenery. The bed itself was very comfortable and big. The bathroom was lovely, with a nice spacious shower and a pretty big kitchen. Two balconies on either side of the loft with chairs was also perfect. The swimming pool was glorious! 5min walk to the beach and 10min drive to Paje by tuktuk. It was definitely worth the peace and quiet after 3 weeks running non stop. Asante sana!!! :) I understand this is strictly accommodation only but a small coffee machine or just a small kettle in the room would be cherry on top 😻

Everything was perfect.
- Bojana (7/5): Pleasent - It is very pristine place. The pool is pretty and the water is clean. The host is very welcoming and friendly. The location is a bit far from Paje and there is not much around. The flat is cute but there are no doors on the toilet which is pretty uncomfortable and lacks privacy. The electricity goes off and on all the time so we experienced short circuit. The most annoying thing are the misquitoes which are coming in the flat from little windows on the toilet. Its impossible to protect yourself against them. Also the cleaning should be a bit better. Sheets should be changed without asking and pillows should be given without stains. Furthermore it woud be nice not to find spiders and spider web all around bathroom sink and kitchen sink.

Need 645 meters to go to the beach where was also impossible to swim cause of the tides!

Located at the beginning of Jambiani village, it’s just a short 4-minute walk to the beach and conveniently close to Paje. Despite its proximity to the main road, the bungalows are far enough to ensure a peaceful stay without any noise disturbance. The property offers cozy bungalows and spacious apartments, all well-equipped with a kitchen and necessary amenities. Our large bed was incredibly comfortable, and we had no issues with the WiFi, fan, or AC. Every bed also comes with a perfectly suitable mosquito net, ensuring a good night's sleep. One of the standout features of our stay was the exceptional staff, especially Barbara. She is Dutch, with excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude. Barbara was always willing to help, offering great tips on places to visit and ensuring any problem we faced was promptly resolved. Originally, we planned to stay for just two days, but the relaxing and calm atmosphere made us extend our stay for a week. This place quickly became our number one choice in the Paje/Jambiani area. The property also features a beautifully maintained pool, which is always clean and inviting. Additionally, we appreciated the presence of three lovely dogs on the property. They were not intrusive at all; rather, they were friendly and happy to receive some petting from guests. Thank you, Baobab Bungalows, for an unforgettable stay! In summary, our experience at Baobab Bungalows was nothing short of perfect. It’s hard to think of any areas for improvement. We highly recommend this accommodation for anyone visiting the area.

- Kim (7/5): Nice property. Comfortable room. Great pool. - The pool is very nice. The bed was quite comfortable. The kitchen was well kitted out and initial amount of fresh water provided for drinking. Aircon in room is a bonus, especially with the humidity. We weren't informed until a few days later that the geyser for hot water is turned on and off by a switch in the kitchen that looks like all other light switches. There isn't much privacy when you're in your room as the shutters on windows don't really close well, and anyone can see in. The beach is a slight walk away from the accommodation, even though only a few minutes away, there is a narrow, dark alley way between the lodges that could do with some lighting - perhaps surrounding accommodations can team up to address this concern/need.

- Sandra (10/5): Amazing place to stay in Jambiani - We stayed for 6 nights in one of the two-bedroom-bungalows as a group of 3 and enjoyed our time a lot! The compound is beautiful, very clean and safe. We especially loved the pool! At the moment we were staying at Baobab the owner Aryan was there with his family. He helped us a lot in organizing trips, car and scooter rental, recommendations and was always available for our questions. The bungalow was comfortable and very clean, kitchen equipped with the basics and with a nice private terrace outside to enjoy the evenings. In walking distance you can reach Jambiani plaza (with supermarket, spa, great italian restaurant, dry cleaner etc.) and there are people selling fresh vegetables and fruits at the street. But at baobab they also offer dry cleaning! Also in walking distance there are multiple bars and restaurants (mainly from other hotels). Paje is easy reachable by taxi/tuktuk. With a car or scooter you can reach probably the whole island. At the beach you can go kite surfing, sailing, snorkeling… So it‘s never boring! And just fyi there are two dogs living on the compound, in the beginning they bark when you enter but only until they know you and they are lovely :) We really enjoyed our stay so the following is only as information/suggestions and no complaints! The two bedrooms of the bungalow didn‘t have doors and only one had a curtain as it was planned in an open-family-space concept. We were 3 young friends (a couple and a single) travelling together so we would have appreciated a little more privacy. Or at least would have been nice to know beforehand! Also the AC is only in one bedroom and doesn‘t really reach the other one. It would have been nice to have more chairs around the pool and maybe some parasols. If you rent a scooter or a car make sure to plan some extra time - when we rented them they came 1/1.5 hours late which messed a little with our plan for the day. So be sure to calculate with some extra time :)

Lovely bungalows, very quiet and calm, an amazing pool to relax, very short walk to the beach and restaurants. All completely new and very tastefully designed, super clean. The manager, Donna, is a wonderful host, she even drove us to the supermarket and to her favorite coffee place the first day. Donnas team of locals, housekeeping and security, is also very welcoming, extremely nice and professional! Your home away from home. And the value for money is really unbeatable on the island - probably because they just opened 6 months ago and the secret is not out yet how amazing this place is. Go now before everyone knows how wonderful it is ;) Everything was perfect!!

The property doesn’t get enough voltage from the power source and there is no generator (yet?) to supplement. Without a generator, nothing really works well: the ac doesn’t keep cool and blows warm air half the time. When it does work, you only feel it directly beneath it. Doesn’t cool the room which is always very warm. The pool, and water for shower and sink are all salt water so we never felt refreshed

The kitchen is fully equiped too. Great bonus: the hotel provides cold water on arrival (a gallon). 3- the staff: very friendly staff, always ready to help and very kind. Special mention to Dona, the manager, who has a car and drove me to the supermarket and showed me around on my arrival day. 4- I felt very safe at the hotel (night guard, staff always there, small hotel) 5- If you love a quiet and peaceful place, this is for you. I hate big and crowded hotels. This one is super quiet and there is not many bungalows, so it never felt crowded even when the hotel was full. I LOVED IT! One of my favorite hotel yet 🩷 It would be a nice bonus to sell drinks and snacks 😊.

The facilities are new and bare in mind not everything is in place but we had a nice stay. Arjan was helpful with everything and showed us what to do in the nearby areas and places to visit. With it being Africa, there was a power cut when we arrived and we had no electricity, however, Arjan solved it perfectly for us with alternatives and we had a nice stay. Would recommend the place for both longer and shorter stays :) Hard to avoid not dragging sand into the apartment, but minor detail that can be fixed easily.

- Kenny (2/5): Very disappointing and not worth what we paid - Pool area was great. Electricity was intermittent. This was frustrating as the water, aircon, wifi was all impacted. You can't even flush a toilet without it. With no electricity, there is no water. The host decided to empty the pool on Christmas day for maintenance and then could not fill it again until the next day. The place has no signs so all taxis could not find it. We missed out on a full day excursion because the taxi could not find the place for collection.

Arjan gives you the best advice and provides a great book to explain everything. He wants to make sure that everything is easy for you. Breakfast would be a really nice plus to propose, but there are easy options 2min walk from the hotel.

Especially bathroom is perfectly done with very strong water power which I appreciated and lots of space where you can easily reach shampoo etc. You can find kitchen with everything what you need for cooking if you don’t feel like eating out and free water was huge bonus! AC but also fan in bedroom and also on the terrace was very useful. Lots of sockets (even on terrace) were great and useful especially as I needed to have my power bank charged all the time in case of power-cuts (no generator in the property). Ari (owner) is friendly, helpful and chill man and I felt welcome:) Pool was refreshing and cleaned every day and path to my bungalow swept every morning. What else to wish for? The fact that I have to leave … I even mess up with dates and thought that I am staying one more night 😂

To start, the location is ideal. The premise was situated about five minutes walk to the beach and five minutes walk to all the shops in Jambiani. We also found that you could walk to Paje in around 30 minutes. The property itself was pristine. It had a beautiful pool surrounded by lush local greenery and flowers. We also enjoyed the dozen or so Eastern Golden Weaver birds that entertained us throughout the day. The apartment itself was beautiful. Absolutely top-notch, first class. It was open with and well constructed with all the amenities that you would expect. We were able to enjoy regular home cooked meals and relax on the patio. It was perfect. Perhaps one of our favourite parts during our stay was the staff that were incredibly kind and generous. Celeste, the property manager was stellar and made us feel right at home. And Seif, the maintenance manager was helpful from the beginning to end. We know where will be staying when we come back to Paje and Jambiani.  Nothing

The owner does everything to make you feel most comfortable! Very fresh bungalow with a nice kitchenette where I prepared my food.Airco and a fan in the room, which was nice! Ánd the pool! What a beauty 😍 The beach is only a 5min walk away, which was very convenient! Nothing to complain!
