The atmosphere made it easy to feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. The kitchen staff were wonderful—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. The food was consistently delicious, well-prepared, and offered a great variety. Every meal was something to look forward to. The rooms were also very nice—clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, with everything needed for a pleasant stay. The only downside was the heat, which made things a bit uncomfortable at times. Overall, a great experience thanks to the lovely environment, excellent food, and dedicated staff. The price shown (taxes included) was not the amount I was asked to pay at reception. I have been using this app for years and have always paid exactly the price displayed at the time of booking, so this situation was completely unacceptable. Despite clearly showing my booking confirmation, the reception staff refused to honor the agreed rate and insisted I pay a higher price based on their own system. I had booked two rooms at €56 (exchange rate of €1 at 4650Ar) per night for 5 nights each, yet was told to pay €61.64 (exchange rate of €1 at 5000Ar) per room instead. This feels misleading and unprofessional. Customers should not be forced to pay more than the confirmed booking price. Extremely disappointing experience ; main reason I won't consider Trecicogne again.

• Christine (8/5): Great ambience and location but too hot for me - The venue itself was super beautiful and in a great location. I loved the ambience and the balance every morning watching the birds and the lizard was a highlight. I mean I did get the budget room so it was my choice but unfortunately I didn't sleep for around 3 nights because the room was just so so hot, then there was the mosquitos which they provide a net for however the top of the net there was a bunch of dead mosquitos and bugs which just put me off using it as they would all fall over into my room. The food at the restaurant was also basic for a vegetarian, not many options.
• Tim (8/5): - Very nice staff and a great place to stay while in Morondava. The price was very low for what you got. The food from the restaurant was very nice as well; although not the cheapest, it was still a fair price. The room was extremely hot. There was a fan to make up for this, but it made a tremendous amount of noise. So it was choosing between sleeping through the noise or the heat. Even though there was a shared toilet and shower, I was the only one staying there for that weekend. So maybe in the tourism season, this might be a bit of a hassle with other guests.

• Emily (8/5): - The hotel is in a good location, just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The restaurant has a lovely view of the river and there are nice lounge chairs to relax in. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was tasty. The rooms are quite dark, but that didn't matter so much, as we were only there to sleep. And, though this is absolutely no fault of the hotel, bring ear plugs if you plan to be there over the weekend. Music from nearby clubs was blasting and thumping until breakfast. Again, this isn't the hotel's fault, and it seems most of the Morondava hotels are along this strip and would have the same issue. Ear plugs and white noise will be your friend.

Accidentally received a better room and it was not imidiately clear how the management wanted to handle this. But in the end they said this was there mistake and we got a free upgrade.

The two person room only had a ventilator while the three person room has a nice a/c. The three person room was very nice, we loved the extra space. The food in the restaurant is absolutely amazing and the staff is very nice!

We asked if possibile to have take away breakfast for the following morning at 4:45, they said yes, so we paid it in advance, the following morning there was nobody to give us take away breakfast. We left and sent them a message on booking and WhatsApp, they never replied. Luckily we came back for another stay few days later and we got our money back

• Timothy (9/5): Convenient Hotel for Exploring Morondava - The hotel and the rooms were clean and well presented with a laid back atmosphere, situated on the main tourist strip of Morondava and on the side of the Hellot Canal. The hotel has a restaurant that serves breakfast and other meals. However, we only had breakfast (which was reasonably good) as there are a lot of other restaurants within 10 minutes walk. The hotel would be ideal for travellers looking to stay in Morondava for a few days for a very reasonable cost. The air conditioner in the room switched off every hour or so and had to be turned back on using the remote (not so good at night)

• Ana (6/5): It's a convenient price but not convenient if you want to have a good night sleep. - The staff was nice and the view to the mangrove is pretty. There are a lot of mosquitos and the mosquito net had holes and didn't cover appropriately the bed so it's hard to sleep at night. Due to its location you will hear boats very early in the morning and the smell of the mangrove isn't always so nice. The pillow weren't really pillows, they were flat cushions.

I loved the dining area as well as the area next to it to relax and watch everything that happened in and on the river. Walking distance from good restaurants and felt safer than Tana. There was only one outlet in my room and with no AC, and no screens, I had to keep the windows closed and the fan plugged in, with no where to charge my electronics. There is a mosquito net but if you open the windows, then you're only safe under the net. They didn't seem to enforce quiet hours as there were people chatting loudly not far from my room at midnight. Booking.com doesn't show all the properties in Morondava, but if you go into Google Maps you will find more with better facilities. Also, bring cash!

Hot water in shower We booked a long time ahead but when we arrived they said our room was taken (because someone extended their stay) and we were moved to a significantly inferior room. Really small, stuffy, only one tiny window directly to the noisy street on street level. When we complained, at least the older of the two receptionists apologized. No discount was offered to the rate...
• Damian (5/5): Mediocre at best - This time the receptionist was friendly. We got the room that we reserved. Breakfast could be ordered early. The room was in mediocre condition. Holes the size of a hand in the mosquito net, sliding door to the bathroom was pretty much stuck, the room was advertised as ventilated but the fan was broken. When we complained, we got a working mobile fan. They didn't seem surprised so I doubt they are going to fix anything soon. No hot water in the shower.
