Guest Reviews
- callum (10/5): -
- denise (8/5): Lovely area, centrally located and sweet cottage. - Lovely little cottage, everything you need and ideal for our dog . Great field at the rear and location perfect. Sofa only, as uncomfortable and old fashioned, with mismatched cover, covered with poor fitting throw. All else good, buthooks under cupboard for mugs also hard to get down and I dropped a mug, breaking it
- Sarah-Jane (8/5): We had a lovely stay. Would recommend. - Lovely cottage, nicely decorated and presented. Quiet location but within easy reach of all of the places we wished to visit. A couple of light bulbs did not work, meaning that of an evening - it was quite dark in the property.
- David (10/5): - The space and location.
Excellent large field to exercise our Sproker Spaniel.
Really comfortable accommodation. Loved the welcome pack, loaf/cake/ Milk/ tea & coffee. Front door lock very stiff, no brush/ Hoover for cleaning up.
- Vicky (10/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): Totally recommend - The property was beautiful , with everything you needed and more Nothing not to like
- Sarah (7/5): Lovely cottage. - It was in a good location, a few holiday cottages in the same area, would be good for a big group. It was quiet, I think we were the only ones staying in a cottage, at least of the group of properties around the courtyard as it was midweek. I would be wary if it was a weekend of groups and potential noise, especially with our dog.
Easy to get to cotswolds towns though.
It was a well decorated cottage, we loved the DVD collection, watched a few we'd never seen. Provision of cake, bread/butter was a lovely touch.
Didn't see the hosts so couldn't comment, however, we are very much people who like to be left to their own devices so ideal for us. Sofa could be more comfortable, kettle in desperate need of descaling, so we didn't use it. The front door didn't stay shut unless locked. Bathroom was a little dated, shower seemed to flood immediately so perhaps needed unclogging.
- Jeff (9/5): - Very comfortable and good location
- Ben (8/5): - Stunningly peaceful location not far from some lovely locations.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Very peaceful, relaxing couple of days numbered potholes!
- James (10/5): Brilliant - Light comfortable and well equipped. Good for dog. Lovely quiet location Nothing
- Dennis (5/5): Country cottage too far. - Good kitchen. Bread, butter, lemon cake, etc. left for us. Broken window pane, unable to lock windows. Stuffy, too warm in living room because the large windows cannot be opened.Clock and coffee machine nonfunctional. No shower gel or shampoo. Tedious to reach by car, narrow lane, More than 20 minutes round trip into Stow is too long.
- Demi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Perfect accommodation in a fantastic part of the UK.will definitely be returning - This property was amazing. From the arrival through the gates down the drive to the accommodation you felt this was going to be good. And Clematis cottage didn’t disappoint. Open oak beams the fireplace lovely fitted kitchen made you feel home from home. Spacious with comfy couch and separate dining table. The bed was very comfortable in a good size bedroom with nice large en suite. We had our dog with us so the rear field was ideal for a good run before and after the day’s adventures. Nothing to fault - an excellent place to stay
- Robert (9/5): A Great base for visiting the Cotswolds - Wanted a base to visit the Cotswolds and this was ideal as only a short, easy drive to most attractions eg Batsford Arboretum, The Slaughters Bourton on the Water to name a few. Although it is set in a rural location with beautiful countryside views the amenities were close only a short drive to Stow on the Wold. Can't comment on local restaurants, we self cater as it suits us. The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable and very peaceful inspite of a 60th birthday party in the barn sleeping 18 and a stag party in the barn sleeping 16. We were expecting disturbed nights but we didn't hear a pin drop. The outside surroundings were clean and well kept, although one of the chairs in our 'garden space' was broken, we didn't use the games facilities so unable to comment on these. The bed was comfortable but strange having a duvet as a mattress topper, the ensuite was roomy and the shower had a good flow and plenty of hot water. Kitchen equipment was adequate although an extra meat pan and a Pyrex casserole dish with lid would have been useful. The log fire was lovely to sit by in the evenings and made the room cosy. All in all we would recommend this property. Thank you Mark for our welcome pack, it was lovely to make a cuppa and have a slice of cake when we arrived. We hope to return.
- Viv (9/5): We would like to visit again sometime - We really enjoyed our stay in clematis cottage -perfect for the 2 of us and our dog, well located for visiting local towns and villages, good shower and a comfy bed.
- Dan (8/5): Cozy and cute - Really cozy cute accommodation. Beautiful location and surrounding areas Windows were due a upgrade as few wouldn’t shut properly
- Lance (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (10/5): 10/10 across the board. . Would highly recommend. Exactly as the photos - Gifted food items on arrival - fresh bread, butter, milk and chocolates.
Cottage was easy to find, manager Mark was easily accessible and friendly. The rooms were clean and cosy. Amazing value for money - kitchen was well equipped with tools, dishwasher and machine with all cleaning supplies. Nothing
- Summer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Veonica (10/5): Exceptional - Everything...cozy beautiful stay Nothing..it was wonderful 😊
- Lauren (10/5): Incredible little gem! Really worth a visit - What a little gem place this really is. Fantastic home from home facilities, excellent layout giving a spacious country and homely feel. Check in was incredibly easy, and Mark was on hand to answer our questions. Bread, Cake, Butter and Milk was provided alongside a few condiments and hot drinks. The bed was quality with a good night's sleep, bedding was absolutely beautiful and really suited the cottage. Garden was excellent, and the little touches such as travel cot and infant seat in the wardrobe was lovely. The cottage was lovely and warm, with parking just outside the door to unload. 10/10 stay from us! Really hope to come back again soon! I didn't book long enough of a stay!
- Nikki (10/5): Lovely cosy 3 night stay - The cottage was easy to find, great instructions and communication from Mark. Cottage was really cosy and nicely laid out, had everything I needed.
Great space for my dog to run around.
lovely quiet ,beautiful location n/a
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darren (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage, clean, comfortable beds, quiet location, little extras such as cake milk and butter on arrival
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage is lovely and very comfortable. Nicely placed for Stowe on the wold.
Had additional facilities such as tennis, badminton, snooker, and table tennis
Milk, bread and cake were provided which was a lovely touch. This has nothing to do with the accommodation but if wanting to eat out in Stowe on the wold, book a table, especially on a Monday as a lot of the pubs are closed which makes it difficult to find a table.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Well equipped. So lovely to be able to accommodate pet dog. - Very comfortable accommodation. Well equipped and clean. Perfect for an overnight stay only wish we could have stayed longer !
- Nicki (10/5): Absolute tranquility, clean, well we - A beautiful cottage with everything we needed for a home from home’ We didn’t book long enough!
- Rachael (9/5): Perfect getaway in the stunning Cotswolds - Absolutely loved the cottage and amenities, it was immaculate and well thought out. All good
- Liz (9/5): Lovely cottage in a rural location - Perfect location for Longborough Festival, set in beautiful countryside.
Comfortable, spacious and mostly well appointed.
Lovely big soft towels, lots of hot water and a powerful shower.
Plenty of storage in the bedroom and, unusually, lots of coathangers.
Good wifi and 4g.
Very clean and newly repainted.
Helpful and responsive owner/staff.
Plug-in electric heaters kept us warm in freezing July! Not really a dislike, but the bed (king) is on the soft side.
Very limited china and cutlery, only 4 knives, forks and dinner plates, so bring your own if you need more.
It didn't matter to us, but the tv is not 'smart'.
- David (9/5): Superb - We had a great stay. Would definitely recommend it.
Everything we needed was provided, including bread, butter, and milk, which was very thoughtful. Thank you.
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional - Very cosy and comfortable little cottage
Bread, butter, milk and cake provided were really nice touches
Quiet and peaceful place
Plenty of facilities
- John (10/5): Beautiful area, excellent accommodation - Accommodation and location
- Roberto (10/5): Lovely cottage in a quite and beautiful location - Fantastic place, all really clean and tidy. Kitchen was fully equipped with all necessary items and the host even left us all necessary food, milk and drinks for breakfast. Great attention to all the details. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again!
- Maria (10/5): Wonderful cosy place to relax - Really lovely place to stay and relax. Everything thoughtfully done - felt like a wanted guest Nothing other than we only booked one night !! Definitely needs a long stay
- Jane (10/5): Cosy, relaxing and quiet. - The location and facilities NA
- Kirsty (10/5): Second time we’ve been and will come again soon ! - Everything was perfect!! N/A
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phil (9/5): A very relaxing short break. - Nice comfortable property with lots of space for two. Logs for the fire
- Colin (9/5): Very quiet and relaxing. - Location perfect for ourselves as we like it to be quiet. The host left a fresh loaf, butter and cake for our arrival. We found it very relaxing and a ten minute drive to Stow on the Wold. The only minor criticism was there could be a light on the car park as we came back from eating out around 8.30 and it was pitch black and a little awkward to park.
- Beth (10/5): Perfect cosy little place for two - Superb little cottage for 2 people. Loved the wood burner and great space in the cottage. Really short drive to Daylesford so great location. Was very warm despite going in mid December so the heating is great. Be mindful if bringing a dog that it doesn’t have a private garden. There is a lot of open space and grass to run around but not your own space. We didn’t bring our dog in the end but just a heads up for anyone who does - you can’t just let them out the door in to “the garden”. The house was decorated for Christmas which was a lovely surprise, and the welcome touches of cake, bread, butter and milk were much appreciated. Excellent value for money!
- Natasha (10/5): Charming, comfortable, very clean - a delight! - Clean, comfortable with wonderful attention to detail. Loved the chocolate brownie bites, cheesy loaf of fresh bread, butter, milk, olive oil, tea, coffee, sugar and salt and pepper. Perfect for our short stay. The mini dishwasher was also a lovely touch. Comfy towels and bedding. Lovely hot shower. Well equipped kitchen. Beautiful location and surroundings. Easy to find. We loved it! We liked everything about the property. No complaints. Only small comment, it would have been useful to have been advised to bring our own wood for the wood burning stove, one log was kindly provided, and we appreciate wood is expensive. Having already been to the shops before arriving, we didn’t fancy going back out to buy wood. So many lovely touches this small thing certainly wouldn’t put us off coming back! The property was plenty warm enough, with or without the fire! Highly recommend!
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful accommodation. Just close to where we were working at foxhill barn.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chelsea (9/5): good price, good location - very cosy, for a good price and decent location. lots of cob webs
- Louis (10/5): A must-stay! - Absolutely stunning cottage, grounds and location. Arriving to discover refreshments had been left for us was such a nice touch. The customer service from the owner was impeccable. I just wish we could have stayed there longer as it was amazing! My only tiny negative comment would be that it would have been so handy if there'd been shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom.
- Donna (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): Lovely place, we will be back ! - Everything ! Was a lovely place to stay, well equipped and very clean ! Wasn’t anything at all.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Cosy rural hideaway - Spacious and comfortable cottage in a lovely location. Very well run and excellent value.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Creighton (9/5): Superb -
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - It was an amazing view of the holiday cottage barn conversions on arrival in the car park. The barns are very tastefully converted and decorated with ample space inside, without being too big to stop the cottage feel.
The bathroom had a lovely shower and the barn was warm. The kitchen was close to the lounge and had a fridge, cooker and kettle. The coffee tea and milk was also provided which was a nice touch when arriving late at the property.
I arrived in the dark and it was well lite so I could see the cottage name and find the key also.
Would recommend for staying for full relaxation. none was wonderful :-)
- Colin (9/5): Location was just perfect. Facilities were good. Property was nice and clean and the bed comfortable - Location was just perfect. Facilities were good. Property was nice and clean and the bed very comfortable. We would have no hesitation in using this property again
- Jennifer (10/5): Comfortable and relaxing. - Location, style and feel of the property. We liked everything.
