Guest Reviews
- Piasentin (10/5): We had a great time experiencing the country location. The cottage was in a great location an easy walk to town and we w - Cottage was very clean and had all the facilities required to make a great weekend We could not fault the accomodation at Foundry Cottages
- Frank (9/5): A nice quiet location with easy access to all the great things the town and region has to offer. - It had everything we needed (& more) for a short stay and the shaded backyard was lovely on the hot summer days of our visit. It was also really nice to arrive and find the air conditioning already cooling the rooms.
- Manuela (9/5): - Spacious cottage with a well-equipped kitchen. Breakfast was very good. About a 15-minute walk to town and conveniently close to the bicycle track. Great option for a comfortable stay! n/a
- Stephen (8/5): very comfortable and satisfied my needs for my short stay in R’glen. - IT was private and I could have catered for myself and spent more time at the house. But i had commitments in town and did not have the time. I did like them fact that there was e3very possible facilities from the air-con on when i arrived to the filtered water. i did not need for anything
- Paul (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Cosy cottage in a quiet area, and a short 10 min walk to town. The hosts are fantastic & nothing is a problem. We'll be back.. Nothing
- Michael (9/5): Perfect place to really appreciate the charm of Rutherglen - Place is very comfortable and the hosts have provided great little touches like breakfast cereal, fruit and yoghurt as well as filtered water.
The main bedroom is very comfortable and is air conditioned and there are great places to relax around the house like the lounge room, little porch at the front as well as the well laid out back yard.
The house bridges two generational eras. The front is charming Victorian is very well done. The back area with kitchen and lounge are sort of 1950-1960’s. This actually suits the area.
House in very close to the big bottle (old water tower) and from there, close to wineries especially via all the bike paths. Nice and quiet.
For the two days I stayed there; this was a very handy place to stay and a good change from a small motel room or some of the over priced tourist places. Not really anything. The mid 20th century style may not be everyone’s taste but it does have its own charm and everything is clean, functional and in full working order.
- Robin (10/5): - The cottage was very well equipped, roomy and comfortable. Plenty of easily accessible power points and effective heating or cooling. Excellent kitchen and laundry. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The best of 8 stays so far on our trip (and some of the others were very good!).
- Betty (8/5): -
- Marc (10/5): Very cosy cottage suitable for several day stay within walking distance of central Rutherglen. - Very well kept and comfortable cottage complete with enclosed backyard. An additional luxury was the couples spa bath. Breakfast provisions definitely adequate for our continental breakfasts. Some discrepancy between the Booking.com listing that said the property was pet-friendly and the owners impression that this was no longer the case. She was accommodating as we were in making sure our pet did not create any extra cleaning for her.

- Paul (9/5): Superb -

- Rani (10/5): My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at Foundry Cottages. We loved how clean, spacious and homely it was as well the - Place was clean, spacious, homely and was in a great location, only just under a 10 walk into the Main Street in Rutherglen Nothing, property was great!
- Leeann (10/5): Quiet, Cosy and just wonderful - The cottage is close to the center of town and it was very cosy inside. Loved the bedrooms. It was lovely and quiet. Our group of 4 loved our stay and would stay there again. To be honest I didn't think the bread was all that great - but it was a bonus to have bread provided at all. The way its listed on Bookings was a little deceptive so I thought I wa booking 2 small cottages, rather than a 2 bedroom cottage, but it was fine. Actually workd out better so we could all hang out together rather than in separate rooms. (Just noting in case others think the same as I did - the manager called me before we arrived to clarify so it wasn't a problem at all)
- Anne (10/5): Outstanding - Anthony and Julie were so welcoming and so thoughtful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Generous provision for breakfast. Beautiful ambience. Great recommendations for wineries to visit. Would visit again That we could only stay 2 evenings due to work commitments
- George (10/5): Great stay at a well maintained, dog friendly cottage. - Well presented house, secure dog-friendly backyard
- Vikki (9/5): Enjoyed our stay - Lovely cottage, great kitchen & wonderful back yard. Good location Bed could be a bit more comfortable
- Kerrie (8/5): Lovely and cosy cottage. Thoughtful and breakfast basket was great. Very enjoyable and a nice walk to town. -
- Peter (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay, the cottage provided exactly the experience we were hoping for. - Continental breakfast was perfect for our needs, fresh bread from local bakery was exceptional.
- George (9/5): Superb -
- Tracy (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (6/5): Pleasant -
- Suzanne (10/5): Cosy country cottage which allows travel with dogs. - It was a quiet cosy cottage with everything I needed. I could bring my dogs and know that they were safe and comfortable.
Great facilities.. kitchen, bathroom, washing machine. Good heating. Bed was very comfortable.
There is the option of booking 2 bedrooms so I may come back forna family trip in future.
I felt very welcome and safe there. The hosts are lovely.
Thank you for a relaxing stay.
- Geoff (8/5): Nice cottage in Rutherglen with the whole property to enjoy. - The cottage and the back yard has pretty much everything you would need for a pleasant stay. The back yard is what makes being there that bit more special if the weather is good, We had breakfast outside under the sheltered area, and recovered from a big winery lunch lying on the garden lounge chairs in the shade watching the birds feed on the fig tree. Supplied breakfast is a good starter with cereal and fresh bread and a coffee pod machine with plenty of pods. Suggest to take with you some juice and fruit, fresh or tinned, to top it up. When the bathroom door rubbing on the floor, and the internet, is fixed, there will be nothing much to comment on here. Note that your car needs to be parked on a gravelled portion of the nature strip as there is no room on the block for off street or undercover parking.
- Graeme (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (9/5): Great place to stay in Rutherglen - Lovely quaint fuly self-contained 2 bedroom cottage in a great location that you have to yourself. It has a loverly backyard and front porch for enjoying mornings and evenings. All amendities (except wifi) are provided and Jjlie and Anthony were friendly and helpful managers that were on call as needed. Nothing really, though it would be great to have wifi and smart TV and a few pantry items (eg cooking oil, salt/pepper).
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional - Cute cottage close to town with all the necessary amenities. Host was very friendly and informative. Would definitely stay again . Nothing
- Brad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (9/5): Our Foundry Cottage was situated in Rutherglen, the wine centre of North East Victoria. Both were a - The breakfast was simple and tasty. Would have enjoyed wifi being available.
- Hibben (10/5): Fabulous! - I appreciated the choice of breakfast offered - delicious.
The facilities were terrific for me and my dog - so nice to feel that he was safe when he was out in the garden.
I enjoyed all the comforts. Nothing really - it was well set up for easy use and I didn't require anything else.
- Simon (10/5): Wonderful town and surrounds. Wish we had more time. Hosts could not do enough for us. Brilliant, relaxing. We will be b - Clean. Very quiet location. Lovely back yard with shade. Everything you need the place has everything you need. Fantastically presented and well maintained. There was nothing to dislike.
- Geoffrey (10/5): Perfect - we would have to stay their longer. - All I can say, is that were mega-fantastic....need I say more? Nothing
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely cottage, comfortable, located a 10 min walk from the main street. The small touches made all the difference, heating the house for our arrival on a cold afternoon, offering a selection of bread, coffee machine, dog friendly. Have stayed here before and no doubt will stay again.
- Ali (10/5): Lovely time away, close to the Main Street. Very welcomed by staff. - Clean, spacious, homely. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. N/A
- Howden (10/5): Walking distance to town.. central to wineries.. all in close facinity - Beautiful stone baked bread from in town.. condiments supplied.. tea and coffee machine available.. Missed out on a massage from Julie as we ran out of time..
That would of been purfect with the hot rocks...
Next time!!

- Laura (9/5): Superb - Great customer service, nothing was too much trouble, I was encouraged to reach out for anything at all that I needed. They made sure that I had everything that I requested, even almond milk was no problem.
