Guest Reviews
- Megan (10/5): Perfect spot to relax & recharge. Peaceful and cozy! - This was the best find! Such a calm getaway and easy to find. It was pretty much perfect for our needs. You can tell there are some ongoing projects but they have done an amazing job with upkeep of these adorable cabins
- Egor (8/5): A hidden gem! - A hidden gem! If you are looking for a quiet retreat, look no further! Lakeview, chirping birds, stars at night- amazing. The place is very quiet.
The room had a kitchen with everything to cook and full size bathroom. There was also a propane fire-pit to use at night. And a boat or a kayak to paddle at the lake. Everything is thought through - just bring the food. There is no cell signal, but there is wi-fi. The owners really care about the place and you feel it. I wish I had a thicker blanket and a lower bed.
- Storm (9/5): Very comfortable with everything I needed. - The place was remote and out of the way. The setting was unique....historic and on a beautiful lake with a railway between the property and the lake. It was quite a ways from amenities so it would have been a journey to run into town for food supplies.
- Mikki (9/5): Gorgeous stay right on the water in the trees. - The location was amazing - right on a small lake in the trees, and a small bunch of little bungalows. Really gorgeous. We were there in the fall and there were some ladybugs camping out inside.
- Steven (10/5): A restful and pleasant stay - Quiet peaceful location and unique decor that is well done. Very comfortable beds. Outdoor fire pit. Water view and access to lake The sound isolation between the rooms could be better
- saeed (9/5): - So good
- Mark (9/5): Relaxing and beautiful stay. Enjoyed our day trips to Florence and hikes to beaches, lighthouse. - The location of this property is unique-remote and secluded without feeling isolated. Siltcoos Lake is beautiful and we would like to kayaking next time, weather permitting.
The owners have done a fabulous job in furnishing the units with authentic working antiques-including the kitchen! We recommend staying here. Windy roads to get to Florence and Darling's Resort so be prepared for driving for eats, etc.
- Bernard (5/5): -
- Lurlyn (7/5): - peace and quiet. room was well curated to match history of the location. was comfy and cozy. no cell service.
- Sara (10/5): Great Experience - The entire experience was phenomenal. It's quiet, cute cabins with awesome decor, the water pressure in the shower is GREAT🤌, beautiful nature, peaceful, 3 adorable dogs, canoes, and kayaks, fishing, etc.
I wished I had booked a longer stay. We are looking forward to returning again in the near future!
- Scott (10/5): - The quiet setting in nature was exceptionally beautiful and quiet. Additionally, the amount of work that went into the historical restoration created the nicest place I have ever stayed in my life.
- Jesse (10/5): Lovely spot, nice people - My partner and I had such a lovely time here. I don’t even know where to start. The room was very cute, comfortable, clean and had a soaking tub ( and some lovely bath salts) that was a real treat. We took a nice little swim in the lake which was the perfect temperature. The gentleman who owns this place is friendly and professional, i felt welcome and at ease while interacting with him. I met a dog and a cat. The cat was perfect in every way- mysterious yet friendly, unafraid and unconcerned. The dog was a VERY good dog who accompanied us to the lake and hung out on the shore and guarded our shoes. This dog demonstrated extraordinary restraint by not stealing our shoes EVEN THOUGH both my partner and i threw our shoes onto the shore. Any dog would be extraordinarily tempted to play fetch with those shoes and yet this dog did not. Extraordinary. Also, the view from our room was magnificent. If you are fortunate enough to be looking for a lake view retreat, you should probably stay here. I will definitely be coming back and I will be staying for much longer.

- Tara (5/5): The worst nights sleep you’ll ever have - We loved being right on Siltcoos lake and in close proximity to hiking trails. Our cabin (Brakeman's Bay) was cute and all the vintage furnishings inside our cabin were fun. We met Dannon and he was very kind. The bed was horrendous! My partner and I booked this place for just under $500 for a relaxing 2-night getaway, but neither of us slept all weekend and we both left with sore backs. We sank into a hole in the center of the bed even though we are both relatively small people. At one point we considered sleeping in our car for a more comfortable nights sleep. Unacceptable.
We also had trouble getting the stove to work, I'm pretty sure you can't use more than one burner at a time and not all the heat settings work. We also had issues with the toilet and had to take the back cover off and fiddle with it every time it flushed. We thought there was a charcoal grill outside our cabin (based on the photos) so we brought briquettes and planned to grill short ribs but the charcoal grill was in use by another guest for over 2 hours so we had to adjust our dinner plans.
We can't recommend this place due to the terrible bed. We left tired, in pain and disappointed that we spent so much money on this place. Jean and Dannon, if you're going to charge $225+ per night, you should provide decent beds for your guests to sleep in. This was a very regrettable experience.

- Stacey (8/5): Overall a great place to stay. The few things laying around wouldn’t detour me from another stay. - Beautiful drive and location. Cozy vintage cottage with everything you need. Very clean and host was kind and helpful. Will definitely stay again. The only thing I could see as a drawback is the landscaping isn’t as manicured as pictured. There are a lot of overgrown areas and some junk but inside is well maintained.
- Debra (10/5): -
- Vincent (10/5): All around great experience. The host were awesome people! Can’t recommend this place enough. -
- Heather (9/5): Can't wait to return for another relaxing vacation! My new favorite hideaway. - We were in the Ticketmaster's quarters and it was absolutely perfect. The room was spotlessly clean and full of functional antique and vintage furniture and appliances. It was so charming and relaxing. We really appreciated that there was no TV in the room, but very good quality WiFi if we needed it. We spent lots of quiet time reading, sitting on the dock watching the lake, and cooking on the antique stove. We live in Oregon and will most definitely be back! The only "complaint" is how messy the grounds are. When we first arrived, a little too early to check in, we walked around the property and I'll admit we were initially concerned about the quality of the facilities. There are lots of piles of old equipment and building materials strewn around, and it looks like a few landscaping projects were started but then abandoned part way through. it does detract significantly from the otherwise relaxing lake resort feel of the place. Thankfully, it did not reflect the lodging itself, which was impeccable.
- Nicole (9/5): Vintage quiet lake cabin with lots of amenities - Love that it was private and out on a lake. Love that the property manager was on site. You could bring your dogs, which was amazing. Had your own private outdoor area and everything was included for one price. Plus you could rent a pontoon boat. If you wanted to. They also had first come first serve kayaks and canoes a beautiful garden space just a wonderful area. Lots of dog poop on the property that wasn’t picked up
- Miguel (8/5): Great -
- Snow (10/5): Apartment was super quaint, lovely antiques and memorabilia. The eclipse was 100% a bust. - Hosts were super friendly, and the dog care package (towels, bowls, blanket etc) was a welcoming touch. Outside grounds a bit cluttered with junk. I realize the owners have been super busy repairing part of this historic building from a huge tree fall, but it would be more picturesque without clutter.
- Jodi (10/5): Learn about the history of Siltcoos while relaxing upon the lake - Quite and relaxing. Beautiful lake! Owners are friendly, attentive, yet hands off. The history of the area is sad. The retreat is journey back in time. Nothing
