Guest Reviews
- Agáta (8/5): - All good, nice hostel not far from the city centre (10 min walk to the main square). The hostel offers some tours but we only used their transport option when we were going to Colca Canyone and that was really helpful.
- Michel (10/5): À Nice stay closed to the center - Outstanding welcome from Luz.
Good breakfast
- Sophie (10/5): -
- Teresa (9/5): Great - Very friendly and helpful staff, amazing yoga session which was hosted by the hostel.
Nice breakfast together with other travellers, also loved the kitchen and garden. The upper bathrooms did not have a lot of space to hang your towel/place your things while washing.
Some wallboards in the twin room would also be great to put your stuff.
- Louis (9/5): - L’ambiance
Cours de yoga gratuit
Cuisine très fonctionnelle
- Fabienne (10/5): -
- Junowicz (8/5): -
- Nicols Garcia (10/5): -
- Edwin Antonio (6/5): Recomendable - La ubicación El internet
- Irina (8/5): Classical Hostel stay - Many common spaces including a roof top terrace and garden with hammocks. Definitely a good place to get to know people. Many activities at the hostel: pingpong, billiard, yoga, fitness. Offer tours at fair prices. We did the Sillar tour and the Salinas tour and we're happy with both. Shared kitchen available for cooking/storing food. Twin room has a nice little balcony.
They clean the common bathrooms several times a day - very clean for a hostel. Very bright lamp in the twin room, no secondary light or night lamps.
They wanted to charge a higher price than indicated on booking due to a very bad dollar-soles exchange rate. We kept insisting on the official exchange rate and at the end they gave in. Very annoying and intransparent, though!

- jorge barudy vasquez (7/5): -
- Ellisa (7/5): Lovely staff - The property was nice and well equipped for a backpacker with extremely friendly and welcoming staff! Because of the multiple colca valley tours that leave at 3 am we were woken up every morning because the sound carries hard, also because some people in our room were very loud but that’s not the hostels fault.
The breakfast was not very good, a piece of bread, a hard boiled egg and banana.
The lockers could be bigger it was hard to get out medium sized bag in.
- Line (9/5): -
- Claudia (7/5): Place to meet young traveler, but quite noisy - + Easy breakfast included (one boiled egg, 1 banana, bread, butter, jam, oatmeal)
+ helpful staff
+ I liked the hammocks in the garden
+ Easy to get to know other travelers (mostly in their early 20th i would say)
+ curtains in the dorm - I experienced the guests to be very loud from at least 7am onwards (not in my 4 bed-room but in the kitchen and as there is no door to close you couldn’t really rest anymore)
- The common rooms/garden were generally pleasant, but a cozier design could really enhance the atmosphere.
- I didn’t feel welcomed by the staff when I arrived, but as soon as I checked-in the treatment changed.
- Anna (7/5): - Buen trato y muy limpio Habitación fría
- Pam (10/5): -
- Arley (8/5): - Ability to shower and use facilities on early arrival before check in. Immaculately clean, staff cleaning all day everyday. Good showers with hot water. Available selection of reasonably priced tours and services, including laundry and beverages. Abundance of social areas and available facilities, including equipment available to workout. Two great kitchens (do get quite crowded). Nice, basic breakfast. Lovely view of sunset. Creaky floorboards and heavy doors
- Stephan (9/5): -
- Wilkin (10/5): -
- Rocco (9/5): Villetta accogliente. Ottimo mood. - Villetta a piu piani con piu ambienti. Molto grande. Sala biliardo. Hall a piano terra. Chitarra, calcetto, yoga, walking tour arequipa, rafting sul fiume, escursione montagna, Chachai, Colca. Terrazza panoramica. Patio interno con dondoli e amache. Molto molto bello. E in una posizione abbastanza centrale. A 7 minuti da piazza de Armas. Colazione sempre uguale. Pane burro e marmellata, caffè e banana.
- Alan Marcillet (10/5): Great hostel in Arequipa - Excellent value. Great breakfast. Hot showers. Good WiFi connection. Well organized for backpackers and arranging hiking tours. 4 blocks from main plaza. Lots of stores, ATMs cheap eats. Helpful and friendly staff. They know what they are doing. Mattresses are due for a change 😲
- Raquel (10/5): -
- Alessandro (8/5): -
- estelle (10/5): -
Good yoga!
- Lana (9/5): Great place - Fantastic environment for meeting people and socializing. Great staff, the outdoor patio was incredible.
The breakfast is: bread, margarine, jam, one boiled egg, coffee and tea as you want.
A lot of showers, most are hot, some not so much.
They are constantly cleaning, which is important.
Beds are comfy and have your own power outlet. Not all showers were hot all the time. But this is mild
- Eloise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (7/5): Good -
- Christina (8/5): good hostel! - super comfortable bed
good location very less space in the bed (be aware with your head xD)
- Keziah (10/5): Chill and friendly, would recommend! - Super friendly hostel ☀️ Although not a party hostel, the most social place I have stayed recently - I think due to the kitchen and dining space! Great to have breakfast included (typical bread, jam, eggs, coffee). Bedding was super snuggly, and had hot showers. Easy to organise colca canyon hike and rafting through. Would recommend! Only thing is that the bathrooms on the top floor don’t have anywhere to put you clothes/things while showering, so you have to hang them over the cubicle door.
- Emily (9/5): Superb - Really nice friendly vibe, loved the outdoor area and the breakfast super easy to meet people… we ended up heading to Cusco with some people we met there. Staff were friendly and helpful and good value tours were offered. Bathrooms a bit hit and miss, the ones on the top floor really nice, the ones on 1st floor need updating. Dorms were standard what you’d expect but would be nice to have curtains for all the beds it was a bit of a lucky dip. Altogether really liked it though and would recommend
- Miriam (8/5): Very good -
- Rik (10/5): Perfect stay for a solo traveller - Love the atmosphere in the hostel. Super chill, friendly people, friendly staff, nice common areas.
10 minute walk to the city centre
- Tom (9/5): Superb - It's cool, beds are private and comfortable, activities offered are cool and diverse, I would've stayed longer if it were not fully booked Shower facilities could be better
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional -
- Esme (9/5): Superb - Loved it here, beautiful property, good location alittle outside the main city but easy walking distance, great facilities and wonderful staff!
- Miriam (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay - Really friendly people, great showers Simple breakfast, neighbouring property has some loud dogs
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Murray (9/5): Superb -
- Jorn (10/5): Perfect! - The hostel is in a really big house, and the atmosphere really makes you feel your'e part of the family. Everybody walks in and out of the kitchen/dining room, talking to each other. Also the personnel is very friendly and most of them know the visitors by name.
I would definitely recommend it, and I will come back if I'm in Arequipa! It is (just a little bit) out of the center, 10/15 walk to the main square. It would be nice if the beds had more and better curtains, I like my private time.
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Clancy (8/5): Very good - Social. Does the job. The building is fairly old
- Bronte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erin (9/5): Superb - The staff were super accommodating when I arrived very early in the morning. The breakfast was basic but good and happy with all facilities. Some of the plugs were a little bit dodgy but that's only the smallest thing I would really recommend this place!
- Daniel (10/5): Highly recommended - very nice staff and amazing location - Great place very close to the city centre and with amazing staff. Very spacious and comfy and easy to make friends.
- Christin (9/5): Superb - It is a very nice Hostel close to the city center of Arequipa. Nice place to meet people. Good breakfast, great stuff. Lots of activities that can be booked and arranged. The bed is a little uncomfortable but still I slept well.
- Gabriel (9/5): Superb -
- Gabriel (9/5): Superb -
- Jamisyn (8/5): Very good - The family style breakfast was amazing to meet other travellers every morning. We were really looked after as we arrived at 5am off the bus. The staff were really kind, washing service was great and I loved having use of the kitchen to cook my own meals No bigger lockers in the dorms meant that there was peoples stuff everywhere and made the room feel very crowded
- Gary (9/5): decent place, but far from the action - Staff was super friendly The rooms were super hot, even with the window open
- Sierra (7/5): We enjoyed our stay - The staff was excellent. We arrived on an overnight bus hours before check in and they let us use all facilities and have breakfast. The room we had was very big. Lots of fun things to do including a pool table. The wifi was spotty at times and during the day the room gets hot- it would’ve been nice to have a fan in the room.
- Paula (8/5): Great hostel for a great price - Comfortable clean rooms
Really friendly and helpful staff Slightly dated from the photos (no yoga studio)
- Paul (8/5): Charming hostel with a nice vibe - A rustic hostel with really nice staff, a chill garden, cute balconies and overall charm and social vibe.
They offer a Colca Canyon tour that is good value for your money with great English-speaking guides and good accommodation, the food is a little lacking in quantity & quality though. The Wi-Fi is incredibly slow, to a point where is barely unusable when people are in the hostel. The showers were not cleaned regularly. There were no common condiments (like oil) in the kitchen.
- Kaelen (8/5): Very good - It was a convenient location and had friendly staff. There was a nice spot with a view on the roof to relax, and rooms were clean
- Lauren (8/5): Very good - A nice, fairly sociable place, lots of areas to chill and hang out.
Excellent sunsets from balcony.
Canyon tour you can book with them was pretty good Kitchen a little small
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good - Very social hostel, i arrived early in the morning and was invited to a rich breakfast (Bread, eggs and jam) , met instantly New people. The Staffel was very warm and welcoming. The bathrooms in the second floor need renovation since the ceiling is moldy.
- Fabien (9/5): Superb -
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were more than happy to extend my stay at short notice. Great location, walking distance to main square.
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rohit (8/5): Nice pitstop - Social atmosphere with lots of nooks and spaces to unwind and relax. The dorms felt a little cramped but nothing terrible
- Freddie (10/5): Best hotel for a solo traveler - The place is very close to the main square some shops around. Staff is very friendly and helpful and you can book excursions directly with them at a fair price.
The common places such as breakfast is really nice as it kind of encourages meeting new people around the hostel which is really nice for a solo traveler Close to our room the floor made squeaky sounds. It did not really bother unless there were people walking at night.
- Lisa (10/5): Great location - Amazing location, great tours Could be more bathrooms
- Nicolò (9/5): Beautiful hostel / Colca tour to improve - Beautiful hostel with garden (also hosts a little gym) terrace, quite well equipped kitchen and various common areas, also good atmosphere when I was there. The breakfast is big and good, and they gave me it even the first day I arrived (before check in, it wasn't supposed to be included). Helpful and kind staff. They partner with and agency for Colca Canyon tours, and we weren't treated in the best way: the hostel in the Canyon was very dirty (animal shit everywhere, AWFUL toilet), cold (broken roof while 5° outside) and they gave us terrible food, the worst pasta in everyone's life. The food quantity was just ridiculous in almost every meal.
- Annika (10/5): Lovely - Breakfast was so good and very cozy backyard
- Nessie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Max (8/5): Very good -
- Daphne (9/5): Comfortable and enjoyable stay. I had a good rest. - - I arrived early on a freezing overnight bus and wasn’t feeling well. Receptionist let me rest at the TV room until my bed is ready.
- Lots of communal area to chill and work
- Love breakfast time as you get to chat with other travellers.
- Clean bathroom. Ground floor bathroom has hot shower with good pressure.
- Dorm bed has privacy curtain, warm bedding. Comfortable bed. Large lockers.
- Complimentary ticketed luggage storage. Has the option to store your valuables in secure cupboard. - No power outlet near bed. Central charging point in the room where you have to take turn to charge your electronics
- No filtered drinking water. Only sell 1 litre bottle. Bad for the environment.
- Hostel is in a very quiet area. It is about 12-15 mins walk to bars and restaurants areas.
- Valeria (10/5): Loved it! - The ambiance was great and it felt like home, the staff very friendly and helpful. Fully recommended hostel for your stay in Arequipa
- Manon (9/5): Superb -
- Manon (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Frederic (9/5): Superb -
- Leila (9/5): Very chill hostel - The hostel is really cool and has many areas to chill. Its also really quiet at night so perfet if you wanna rest from all the trekkings.
I also enjoyed the breakfast and love the fact that everyone is arou d the same table to take it.
The people working there are really nice aswell The location is less central than other hostels. But its not vert far (10 to 15 min walk to la plaza central)
- Isia (7/5): Good -
