- Jack (10/5): -
- elliott (1/5): - Nothing Severely unclean had to find other accommodation
- Andrea (1/5): traumatic - didn't stay - nothing the property was dirty and smelled strongly of canabis.
the front door had been kicked in and drug addicts were wandering in off the street
there was ripped black bins bags piled around the front door
no lights on the stairs
no communication from either the owner or booking.com
the ceiling wasn't high enough to stand up straight
the light didn't work in the bedroom
the tv didn't work
the internet didn't work
no kitchenware what so ever (other a dirt pan) not even a cup or spoon - no way to cook or eat
we got some oven meals however the oven was so filthy it set the fire alarms off
no toilet roll
1 towel
we didn't stay and left after trying to tough it out for 2 hours
it was horrendous
despite numerous attempts to contact someone - there has been reply and iv had to take the matter to my bank to try and get a refund
iv very disappointed with booking.com for there complete lack of communication
- Jordan (1/5): - Would not expect my dog to stay here! The door had been kicked in and lock was hanging off. The room had no carpet in, the wall was falling apart. Someone else in a different room was smoking weed. Do not book this! When speaking to the owner, he got aggressive and very very rude. You could not pay me to stay in this place. Disgusting!
- Mathew (1/5): Disgusting nightmare. - Nothing, the flats in the property were dirty, kitchen appliances were broken and the building was unsafe. People that did not live in the property kept coming into the building from the street which made it extremely unsafe.
The guest did not stay in the flat due to how disgusting and unsafe it was and neither booking.com or the host have approved any form of compensation. DO NOT BOOK. DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY
It is dirty, kitchen was not appropriate for cooking, the building was unsafe with front door not locking and people coming in from the streets and using it as squat/half-way house.
- Mathew (1/5): Disgusting nightmare. - Nothing, I booked two flats in the building and none of the guest could stay there after seeing the state of the flat and the building. DO NOT BOOK. The flats at this property did not match the description on the website, kitchen was not fit-for-purpose, the building was being used as a 'squat house' and people from the street kept using the inside of the property which made it extremely unsafe and unapropriate.
I am still trying to get a refund from booking.com which has been has bad as the host - DO NOT BOOK THIS, IT IS UNSAFE.
- Sally (1/5): Absolutely causing me murder with the wife divorce proceedings in motion đ - Nothing had to look at walls and I felt unsafe No TV to I had to watch the my phone with my data all gone
- Annaleigh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hayes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shereen (3/5): Poor - The location is really good.
The bathroom was clean and tidy.
Instructions to get in were good. The mattress , the springs were digging in, I couldn't sleep, I tried to sleep on the floor in the lounge. The carpet is awful, covered in stains, doesn't look like the photo. Sofa also very u comfortable, in need of replacing.
Bedroom, very noisy, lounge was a lot less noisy, as in traffic.
There was a kettle, but no tea, coffee bags, would have been a nice touch, and a pint of milk in the fridge wouldn't hurt.
I wasn't able to sleep at all.
Very uncomfortable.
- Zach (1/5): Do not stay the apartment was freezing cold me and none of my friends could sleep it was that cold - Nothings The apartment was freezing cold
Me and mate mates has 3 jumpers on snoodie and a coat on still sat their shivering the doors handle wasn't even on it was replaced my a spoon in the door the entrance too the apartment had no carpet just floorboards the radiators would not go above 15° this is by far the worst place I have ever stayed
It was nothing like the pictures shown
- Paul (1/5): Terrible. Keep well away. - I was changed out of Flat 4 which had rotten food in the fridge and was very dirty, into Flat 1 which was bigger. It was dirty. It was cold. The duvet was too thin. The alarm beeped all night, The hob did not work. There was no soap.
- Lucy (8/5): Very good - Ideal for what we needed
Clean and warm Beds werent comfortable, main bedroom bed is quite small
- Colin (5/5): Libertines in Stockton on tees - Access was good On the coldest day of the year so far, the radiator didn't work in the bedroom. You have to be very short to be able to use the bathroom facilities properly. Handle on the bathroom door still hasn't been repaired despite a previous guest mentioning it.
- Patrick (6/5): Pleasant - Parking was right outside. Good size apartment. Sofa bed in the living area, kitchen and bedroom and bathroom. All modern. Towels available. Lots of stairs as the apartment was in the top floor. Bathroom door handle was off and on the floor. Hole in the bathroom wall and ambulance stickers stuck on the wall. Unable to work the tv kept saying no internet connection and would not tune in. Contacted the owner twice with no response. Able to hear other people in other rooms.
- Joyce (1/5): A health and safety hazards reported therefore to Council so STAY AWAY - Nothing it was so bad I had to report heath and safety issues to the council and find somewhere else for the 2nd night. EVERYTHING Access dangerous , no attempt to clear leaves and it had rained. Washig machine advertised yet the plug had been taken out and you had to pull out the machine to reinsert it and that was beyound a female. Sockets lose off the wall , no heat in bathrooom. Bedroom door would not shut so I had to put a couple of bags behind it to keep it closed. Fire alarm in hall sounded all night beeping as needed renwing. Blinds would not open and garden back and front full of rubbish
- Catherine (1/5): Bad - Advised via message on Booking.com that cleaner was unable to clean room from previous occupant. Unable to stay the night and had to book alternative accommodation. This accommodation is not staffed and struggled to contacted owner regarding issues.
- Jodie (2/5): Won't be staying here again. - Should sit on the floor, rather than the Sofa bed. Cooker hasn't been cleaned for years. 2 x dirty greasy frying pans, no pots. Sleeps 4, 1 x folk, 1 x cup. 2 x radiators, 1 in bedroom & 1 in living room. The 1 in the living room didn't work, absolutely freezing. WIFI was very slow, if it worked at all. Toilet wobbles when you sit on it. Bedroom had 1 double bed, no draws or wardrobe. No bins provided outside, for trash.
- Duncan (5/5): Passable -
- Rebekah (4/5): Basic - The bedroom was a good size and the bed was comfy It was an attic room so it was very stuffy and the kitchen was tiny! There weren't any towels out, had to go through the storage cupboards of bin bags to try and find some. Kitchen equipment was very limited, sponges to go with the washing up liquid would have been helpful. When I tried to cook I found out the smoke detector had been conveniently placed directly over the hob. So it of course went off, and there aren't any windows in the kitchen to let you air it out! So overall basic and ok for a night but wouldn't recommend attempting to cook anything!
- Ayrton (5/5): Adequate accommodation - Big tv. Good location Lack of cutlery, bowls, carpets in disrepair. Uncomfortable seating and sofa bed. Smoke alarm beeping all night. No third chair. Host had to be chased for access codes
- Wayne (5/5): Passable -
- Maureen (8/5): short stay due to house renovations . Convenient location - Clean and well furnished . Staff receptive and helpful Rubbish outside the front of property
Area not so good
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nasima (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Lovely host, literally just renovated. A couple of little issues but a solid 9 out of 10 - Lovely host, literally just renovated. A couple of little issues but a solid 9 out of 10
- Angela (2/5): We were glad to leave - Parking in front Hard beds supported on 2 old tables. One of our partyâs bedâs sheets were dirty and full of hair. He had to sleep in sofa. Shower surround fell apart as we walked past it. Bedroom tiny. Tv not working properly , no adequate cutlery or utensils to make a simple sandwich. Heater in bedrooms didnât work.
- Jenny (4/5): Disappointing - The property was clean The onsuite the bottom of the shower requires repair. Multiple light bulbs did not work in the property.
The property is advertised âwell supplied kitchenâ- this is not the case. 2 frying pans, a kettle plates, mugs and cutlery only available. Suggest a microwave or dishes to be able to use the oven and a couple of pans to be able to the hob.
The property has lots of potential.
- Denise (3/5): Poor - It was clean. Near venue. TV no reception
The shower door is missing, so I couldn't use the shower.
Tap loose on the sink.
Poor facilities
Cheap mattress
Flat pillows
Awful đ
- Louie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fasal (1/5): Poor experience, landlord has no care for property. - There was nothing to like about the stay, the negative experience outweighs any positive experience. Bed was horrible, cheap crappy mattress the springs hurt my back. Had a terrible night sleep. The stairs carpet was loose as it never had a gripper about to fall over and break a leg. Bathroom didn't even have a lock on the door, shower head also broken. Shambles
- Lidiia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Abiola (8/5): Comparatively great value! - Opposite station 3 min.
Code entry.
Great location for taxis
Car park
Quiet
WiFi Drug addicts- city centre inhabitants so as I was solo, rather than a 10 minute walk, I took ÂŁ4 taxi to my meetings/ meet up with friends etc
Tv worked off my phone- internet phone so I watched YouTube and Netflix
- Mickey (1/5): Never again - I liked that there was free parking and it was just outside the property. From start to finish this property let us down, we had 2 apartments booked (1 &3) and when we arrived one apartment had no towels, contacted the owner and told us to take from flat 2 when the men did enter that property they immediately smelt a very strong smell of what we can only assume was cannabis. I contacted the owner about this as that didnât make us feel comfortable at all he said that the cleaner had noticed it and that it was reported to booking.com.
Arriving into flat 1- when we first entered we found there was a very odd smell at this time we thought it was cat wee, when I used the toilet in the bathroom I found the toilet isnât attached correctly and is unsafe, in the bath there is damp/mould and also damp in the one bedroom on the wall.
We pushed the sofa back to make more space for us to get comfortable (limited seating) and we found the cause of the smell, mould on the carpet there was two blue/green furry blobs of mould on the carpet. At this point I contacted the owner and allowed us to move into property 2 but the issues didnât stop there.
Arriving into flat 3- our friends had this property and not only was it very small the tap was broken in there and also when they pulled out the sofa bed they found strange white powder or it could have been crumbs as we canât be certain on what that exactly was. When they was about to get settled into bed they realised for the sofa bed you have to put all the bed covers on yourself and to their surprise it was all covered in hair, they came down to flat number 2 and showed me and then we immediately thought it was best to check our beds that we hadnât been in yet, the bedding had mould on it and there was a suspicious mark on the sheets we cannot be sure what that was either, at this point we decided that we couldnât bare to stay here and I contacted booking.com. The owner than called me accusing me of being drunk because he made me cry down the phone with how unpleasant he was being towards me.
- Christine (8/5): Very good - Near to the Theatre, so we could walk.
Clean and quiet.
Plenty of hot water and towels.
Parking outside Main front door to building didnt lock.
Beds very soft
- Norhazwani (5/5): Just ok. - Cleanliness No plastic in toilet.
- Kishan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Osama (10/5): Exceptional -
- Syed (5/5): Passable -
- Anaya (10/5): Phenomenal - Everything was perfect! House was lovely and warm. Fantastic host!!! Having to leave
- Sarah (10/5): Would definitely recommend and will stay again - Clean tidy and comfy Not enough cups for 4
- E (10/5): Fantastic for a comfortable stop over - Was a last min booking late in evening as was let down with accommodation elsewhere, host was extremely helpful and even upgraded us as we had 2x young very tired kids, The apartment was great with a kitchen. Will.be lovely and will def stay again once it is finished properly. The lack of finish of decoration, no curtains so quite bright in morning, no hot water but was warned and no coffee , but there was a teabag. Rubbish outside from previous takeaways, our toilet wasn't secured to floor.
- J (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicky (1/5): Not suitable!! - Parking was plentiful, and it was right next to the train station.
TV and WiFi good I think the owner forgot we were coming as we hadn't been sent the door codes. He did respond quickly so we could get in. The outside was full of rubbish!
When we did get in, the sheets on the bed hadn't been changed, there were dirty towels in the bathroom and the bin was full of rubbish. Overall it was quite clean other than that, but I think that may be because the people before us weren't messy. The owner did send someone quite quickly with clean sheets and towels, but after a long day travelling, the last thing we needed was to be changing bedsheets. The pillows and duvets had stains - something we probably wouldn't have noticed if we weren't changing them ourselves.
The beds were really uncomfortable- the double having a board on top of the base which stuck out and caused my husband to graze his shin. The sofa bed was also uncomfortable. The bathroom door took some closing, and the shower panels weren't attached at the bottom. There were no towel rails or hooks, so made it awkward to get ready comfortably. The shower didn't have a door, causing a bit of a flood when used!
The kitchen was very basic - one cup and very few utensils. I couldn't work out the induction hob - probably me being a bit thick, but I had to give up on that!
It was a warm weekend and the window in the living room didn't have a handle to open it. There was not enough room to sit comfortably for 3 of us and the floorboards were really creaky - we could hear the person upstairs moving around at 3 in the morning, and I presume the people underneath could hear the same from us!
All in all - I don't feel that it was ready to be rented out - it has potential but needs a lot of work!
- Asshok (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (6/5): Pleasant - The apartment was clean and convenient for shops We had to step through torn bags of garbage to get to the front door - and they stayed there for the whole week we were there! The kitchen was very ill-equipped - no sharp knife, no toaster, no saucepans other than a large casserole, no microwave oven. There were no bath mats or hand towels. I was delighted to see a washing machine, but discovered there was no clothesline, no airer, or drier. Perhaps anyone who rents out accommodation should stay in it for a few days. Oh, and the lounge furniture was really uncomfortable!
- Stones (1/5): Bad - Nothing it was disgusting only stayed one night When i arrived at the property outside rubbish strewn in front area old door stored, entering the stairs walls flaking paint,no hand rails to climb stairs ,The 1st room i was booked into smelt of weed no windows, to open shower room not upgraded very poor workmanship, needs work, no space for storing clothes etc towels were very old, second room to small terrible stench from the Bathroom yet again old towels, only 1 cup avaliable, tv on the floor, uncomfortable bed very un satisfied customer would like a refund as really expensive overnight stay,if no refund i will be reporting to trading standstard,as was attending a family wedding,And at last minute booked into other hotel for the nxt 2 night stay miss debbie stones,

- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (6/5): Pleasant - Quite, excellent communication when needed. Good parking. Had all you needed. The bathroom upstairs was cramped to use. Being up in the top end of the accommodation both of us being 6 ft spent most of the visit bent over.
- Saiful (1/5): Bad - Parking: Very Good
Internet: Very Good
Room: Good
Customer Service: Very Good. Prompt and very helpful This property is not suitable for renting based on my experience on 3 June 2023 for Apartment 1 & 2.
Proof of Problems: https://youtu.be/gls4EGey2V0
Actual Listing:
https://youtu.be/8goU_d6lbkc
Improvements Needed
1. Several paintworks (over 10-15 different places) for Apartment 1 & 2 need to be re-painted
2. Sharp door handle, health hazard for kids
3. Loose Switch (hazard)
4. Sink tap - 1 (loose)
5. No hot Tap Water in Apartment 2
6. Wall heater in Apartment 2 - Sofa (loose)
7. Toilet door for Apartment 1 is way too hard to close and while getting out.
8. No Microwave (preferable but not essential)
9. No hooks or wardrobe to hang/keep clothes (preferable and kinda essential)
That's what I can see so far.
==
He/She knew about the problems but decided simply to ignore it. Landlord simply didn't understand the health hazard issues after pointing out several times.
A 3 year old kid can seriously get hurt in eyes or head with the sharp door handle which he knows. And its a matter of time that some kids will have electric shock via the switch.
Please check the videos to get an understanding. Never seen a property to be allowed to rent via booking.com in such conditions. He even told me, it would be my loss if he had to cancel booking due to not completing paintwork.
He simply has missold his service and property. So many problems. I need full refund and this property needs to be checked properly before being allowed to rent professionally.
- Stephen (3/5): Poor -
- Chris (7/5): Good -
- Deborah (8/5): Lovely apartment, ideally located for the theatre - Lovely little apartment, ideally located for the theatre. Plenty of room for 4 people. The bed in the top room was a little lumpy and the toilet up there was very slow to flush.
There was only 2 mugs for hot drinks and 2 glasses, as there was 4 of us 2 had to have tea in the glasses which was fine but it would have been nice to have enough mugs.
- Suzanne (10/5): nice short stay - the area was close by easy for me get to work, the beds are so comfortable, the facilities was easy to access through entry and tidy , clean there were no coffee, or milk to have hot drinks

- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (7/5): Clean, large apartment with a good location. - The location was 15 minutes walk to the centre, quayside and River Tees.
The owners accepted a last minute booking (the original was cancelled by the host on the day, and waived the extra cost for the split level apartment. Simple, but clean and adequate for the stay.
Sachets of tea, coffee and milk provided. There is no central heating but there were radiators in the lounge and bedrooms which were comfy, however, the stairs and bathrooms were cold. ( it was snowing and 0 degrees).
Probably oversight but there were no mugs to make a hot drink.
- Robson (10/5): Exceptional -

Good layout of rooms. Ripped wallpaper in hall and living area did not give a good impression.
Apartment was freezing - some radiators didnât work and even in the rooms they did it was not enough to heat the room. Left early as we were so cold.
- Kim (2/5): Very poor - Was very cold all day and night just could not get warm at all and not enough seating for every one and no bins to throw away rubbish
- Brian (1/5): Bad -
- Anonymous (10/5): I loved it and would recommend. definitely would return- maybe soon! - very spacious and has close shops which were convenient. The owner was lovely and the room gave a feeling of being brand new! no tables, like bedside tables. we had to charge our phones awkward places.
- Lianne (10/5): Exceptional - clean and well presented. nothing

WiFi I get could be a connection issue. pull out sofa bed was really uncomfortable too
- Jonga (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was spotless, I called the host and asked if I could upgrade my room and this was done with no hustle however due to complications on my end the host offered me the room upgrade at no additional cost. I had a long drive back home the day I checked out and explained this to the host who allowed me a late checkout and was very understanding.I cannot fault this apartment or the host in any way. Nothing it was perfect
