Guest Reviews
- benfield (5/5): - The property was at the top of a very steep hill so a demanding walk from the town.
The property had a steep set of steps to access so not suitable for those of limited mobility
The bed was accessed up 2 steep steps so not suitable for anyone of limited physical ability
- Richard (8/5): - Compact but had hot water, was warm and had everything i needed.
- Sargent (8/5): - Comfy and clean
- david (8/5): - Clean, well presented, everything I needed wasn't too keen on the hill back from town but thats hardly the properties fault
- James (1/5): We would not go back - The bed was built on a wooden base about 3 foot high which we had to climb steps to then roll in and of course roll out of, not very easy for two old pensioners. The outside area was extremely "Tatty" and the steps were steep but fortunately we were able to use a piece of wood pretending to be a banister. This place needs more work and is definitely not recommended for older people or those with bad legs.
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Kaisha (10/5): Very pleasant weekend away - Very good use of space, super cozy but plenty big enough to not feel like we were tripping over each other and very clean.
- Rob from Honiton (10/5): -
- Olivia (10/5): -
- Kerry (10/5): - Excellent location, well equipped, clean and comfortable Possible mention the bed access, it wasn't a problem for us but it might be for others
- DAVID (9/5): Perfect accomodation for a short / weekend break, will certainly return. - Quite residential area, close to centre of Kingsbridge (10 min. walk to the Quay) External light at the top of the steps to the side of the property was not working.
Slightly promlimatic having arrived late/ after dark on the first night.
- Elaine (9/5): Great apartment would recommend - Clean & comfortable No microwave or other cooking facilities except a toaster
- Andre (8/5): -
- Sian (10/5): An extremely comfortable and welcoming property to stay at..a perfect getaway from which to explore! - The location was perfect for our visit to see family very nearby! The studio was spotless, very well appointed and the bed was super comfy. Caroline and Ed were so welcoming and friendly, we will definitely be staying again sometime :) Nothing, all perfect.
- Jo (10/5): Super clean, comfy bed, friendly hosts, welcoming snacks with T-bags & milk, beautiful dog a bonus! -
- Brian (5/5): Good to visit Slapton sands - Location Only garden view was of neighbours dog/s jumping up at kitchen window & garden fence, so not suitable to sit in very small triangle garden.
- Derek (8/5): Very good - Clean and comfortable. Provided everything we needed. Convenient location for exploring the local area. Parking was a bit of a problem as other vehicles were parked in space on road where we were advised to park. Consequently had to park further down road. Access down steps at side of property are somewhat of a difficulty for older persons with regular larger suitcases. Although would be fine for most.
- Caroline (8/5): Enjoyed it greatly - Very clean Everything there My husband found the bed a little difficult as hes had 2 new knees & 1 new hip
- Sanders (9/5): Very good place for solo travellers and quiet - Perfect place for a solo traveller and for a short stay
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucy (8/5): Very good - Lovely clean, modern accommodation with everything you need for a short stay. Friendly hosts (and dog :)) Nice quiet location, 5 mins walk from quayside. Return walk is a steep workout! Outdoor space is a bonus and lovely for catching last sun of the day. Appreciated the bread, milk etc. Accom is essentially underneath hosts' property so there is a bit of noise transfer from above, but nothing major. Bedroom window looks onto hosts' garden.
- Catherine (10/5): Cosy and comfortable - Nice and cosy with a stunning view and a very comfortable king-size bed Kettle across the room from the tap, just a minor negative, no real issue.
- Eric (10/5): Great little Annexe - Convenient location. Great for what I needed. Nothing
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Douglas (8/5): Very good - Good, clean stylish studio appertment The bed, on a platform was not easy to access, especially in the dark in the middle of the night, and if you had a titanium hip and dodgy knees.
- Francis (9/5): Very clean , comfortable and good location -
- Ayshea (9/5): Excellent bedsit, clean, easy to find, great communication, would definitely stay again - Great location, clean The lights leading down to the property were not working so hard to see steep steps in the dark
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, excellent location everything you need for a little get away.
- Ruth (9/5): Lovely little town, plenty of good pubs and restaurants, excellent good value accommodation - Location very good, just a short walk from the centre, bit of a climb up but great views.
- Joanne (7/5): Good - Has everything you need, close to the town centre. Appreciated the welcome pack- milk, bread, butter and jam. We found the bed uncomfortable but that is maybe personal to us. Also tricky getting out of bed especially throught the night for the toilet.
- Rich (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - The property was very clean and had a good range of cooking facilities, which helped make things easier for my stay.
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (9/5): Little Highfield Magic - Little Highfield is a delight. Quiet. Private and very nicely done out. Lovely views of the countryside. Finding the place in the dark. The sign needs to a little more prominent, and perhaps a light at the start of the pathway?
- Steven (7/5): Good - Very clean, close to the town, easy to park Smaller than thought, heating only on for short times, so quite cold, ideally for short stays
- Holly (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Rich (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debbie (9/5): Superb -
- Passmore (10/5): Perfect stay in a well thought out apartment, would stay again when next in area. - Location, decor, friendly hosts No shaver socket, needed a bit more hanging space and no side plates
- Clive (9/5): Very enjoyable and felt private. Good facilities. - Good location for visiting Kingsbridge and easy bus ride to Salcombe. It was very nice to have bread, butter and jam for toast and fresh milk with the tea and coffee.
Very comfortable sofa and lounge area, the raised bed area may not please all but we loved it. very comfortable. The heating controls could have been easier or timed to come on in the morning so the place was warm.
- Andrew (10/5): Comfortable accommodation in a good location - As the pictures show, it's small, but it had all we needed for ten days. Well designed to make the most of the space.
Location's great - five minutes stroll down the hill and you can sit and admire Kingsbridge estuary and harbour, possibly from the Crabshell pub. Ten minutes, and you can be in the main shopping street (independent butchers, fishmonger, bakers and greengrocers, among others!)
Kingsbridge is a very good base for walking the Plymouth-Start Point section of the South West Coast Path, on account of buses and taxis are all based here.
And the owners are very helpful and considerate, which was great.
- Fiona (9/5): A comfortable and restful stay, within walking distance of some excellent restaurants. - It was very easy to find the entrance to "Little Highfield" and the key box worked well. When it was dark there were PIR lights which lit the pathway clearly. The kitchen had everything we needed and the fridge and microwave were very useful. The hosts left milk, tea, coffee, sugar, butter, jam and bread for us to use. We liked the decor of the place and the way that the bed had been fitted was beautifully done, and very comfy! Although the accommodation is compact there was room for everything and plenty of space. Be aware that the fan in the bathroom is so wonderfully quiet you worry that it's not working, however, what a change not to have a noisy fan keeping you awake! It was a real bonus that there was just a 10 minute walk from the accommodation to The Crabshell Inn for a delicious meal. Communicating with the friendly hosts was easy, with a quick response. Being extremely picky, it would have been even better if there had been a coffee machine or cafetiere, but obviously this is hardly essential!
I would recommend "Little Highfield" and would definitely stay there again.
- Tanner (9/5): Superb - Cosy place and garden good location
- Elisabeth (8/5): Excellent base for exploring Kingsbridge, taking the ferry to Salcombe and enjoying the sea air. - Perfect space for one or two people, good location for town, water and countryside.
Comfortable, welcoming hosts. All good.
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect hideaway - Perfect little hideaway for a couple. Everything was really well thought out and we had everything we needed. Lovely little touches like toiletries, bread, butter, jam and milk on arrival. Great location just five minutes from the centre of everything. Kingsbridge is beautiful and definitely somewhere we'd like to visit again.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roy (9/5): Superb - I liked how this place is laid out, and is very clean and tidy. N/a
- Pete (9/5): Great place for a short stay in kingsbridge - Everything was perfect All good - no problems
- Jane (8/5): We enjoyed our 2 night stay here - Good use of the space and very clean and tidy the bedroom photo I have added below has come up as ‘outside’ - but its inside - there wasn’t a category to add bedroom pic
- Maureen (7/5): Good location but wouldn’t go back - Location was good Rather basic equipment in kitchen, only microwave. There was a hot plate but not sure where you could safely use it. Only one tiny tea towel, no j cloth. Only one small towel. Comfy bed but not easy to get into unless you are agile.you need to climb a couple of steps and climb across the bed! Minute garden
- Robert (9/5): We had a lovely time and our stay at Little Highfield made it perfect. - Beautifully finished and very comfortable Nothing it was great
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
- Robson (9/5): Cosy, clean & close to beautiful scenery - Cosy, very clean, everything we needed; the little ‘welcome pack’ was really helpful. Within walking distance (via a short hill but that wasn’t an issue for us) to the most beautiful estuary scenery and an excellent pub restaurant. Not too far to drive to more beautiful scenery. Nothing to dislike, it was just right for us!
- Archie (10/5): Brilliant stay - Property is very well looked after in a nice clean area with plenty to do in the surrounding area. Great stay for young or old couples. :) Nothing every think was great would definitely come back
- Helen (8/5): Very good. - Clean, well presented, comfortable little apartment, with nice friendly hosts, in a great location, with plenty to do in the vicinity. Private space, and a perfect bed for the night, plus somewhere pleasant to be during the day, if you are staying in. As we have been here for several nights, we would have used a few more self catering facilities. But, that said, we have managed fine, and the hosts did ask us if we needed anything else.
- Gary (10/5): Excellent accommodation and great hosts - Excellent location in Kingsbridge.Little Highfield offers great accommodation. It is very tastefully appointed, had everything we needed for our short stay.We also had 2 great nights sleep.
Our hosts were really helpful and recommended places to eat whilst in Kingsbridge.

- Grace (9/5): Great location, really welcoming hosts, and clean accommodation that offers just what you need. - Great location, easy to find and really clean and welcoming. A little small and the bed a little challenging to get into. Wouldn’t put us off staying here again but may not be suitable for everyone due to this.
- Nick (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (9/5): Great property - Great location, free parking, nice apartment. A coffee machine would have been excellent.
- George (9/5): Close to amenities, quiet, attractive location. - Comfortable, clean and lots of nice little touches. Very good shower. No hanging space. If you're bringing an outfit that needs hanging, you'll need to pack some coat hangers.
Very steep hill up to property.
- Judy (10/5): We would recommend this property. The hosts were welcoming and approachable. It had good facilities and was clean throug - It was comfortable, clean and quiet. Nothing.
- Louise (10/5): Great little studio, perfect for all our needs and very close to town. - Clean, well equipped. Great shower and lovely comfortable bed. All great, nothing negative to say.
- Dorothy (8/5): Very good - Very clean and well designed.Host was friendly. Recovering from a back injury I found the bed difficult to access and we hadn't realised the dining area was actually two high stools at a bar. The description mentioned kitchen but cooking facilities were inadequate so we had to eat out more than planned. I
- Iwona (8/5): Very happy with the property. Easy access, comfortable bed. - Great place, very clean. Hoist leave a a butter, jam and fresh loaf of bread for breakfast. Very thoughtful :) We arrived 20minutes before booking time, everything was prepared. Place smelled really fresh, clean towels & bedding. Walls are thin and you can hear people above walking around or working dishwasher.
- Deborah (10/5): Perfect for our two night stay. Will definitely return. - Perfect for our two night stay. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Immaculate. Great location. Town facilities all within walking distance.
- Human (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jmariolou (9/5): Compact Cozy apartment - Well kitted compact cozy apartment.
Great touch in the welcome gifts.
Great to have good shower soaps
Great communication before and after our visit Garden was on the small side, not that the weather allowed us to be outside much
- Emma (8/5): Short break - Nice open and light space.
Good base for exploring the area.
- Frank (10/5): excellent studio in lovely location - great location, lovely studio. beautifully decorated with everything you could need. lovely touches with the hosts supplying bread, butter, milk and jam. comfy bed and lovely shower/bathroom all was really perfect

- Hetty (9/5): Superb -
- Sally (8/5): Coay - Location and quirkiness of the accommodation Lack of sockets and items for cooking
- Ron (10/5): A lovely place to stay - A lovely studio flat with independent access. I would be very happy to stay here again. Breakfast not expected but there was a loaf of bread, butter, milk and jam provided. Very comfy bed, excellent facilities. Quiet. View of the hills in the distance. Easy access from the town. It was my base for a kayak trip from Salcombe to Hope Cove. Nothing. You have to trust that the lights will turn on as you follow the path down to the flat.
- Martin (10/5): Our stay was lovely made so much easier by being so close to kingsbridge for an evening family meal, and easy to find an - We loved everything about it. Nothing
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Instructions as to how to find, where to park, and collecting keys were easy and clear. The place was beautifully clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Having bread, milk, and toiletries left out to use was a nice touch. Very well situated with shops and restaurants in the town centre only a short walk away. Really lovely place to stay. There's not much that i didn't like. The kitchen area was quite small, so even though there was good facilities (cutlery, crockery, hot plate and microwave) I wouldn't have been able to cook a proper meal, but for just a short stay for two people, it was perfect.
- Bryony (10/5): Peaceful and Private Apartment - The flat was peaceful, private and comfortable. Extremely comfortable bed, slept so well both nights. Suitable kitchen area for a quick snack/ breakfast before heading out for the day.

- Denis (9/5): Pleasant flat for 1 (2 at the most) and enjoy the Kingsbridge / Salcombe and Dartmouth area. - Small flat (main room, sleeping area, bathroom) nicely organised. TV, microwave, necessary utensils, crockery, etc). Very pleasant view from main room (and garden) over hills with cattle grazing. Private entrance to the flat. No proper table provided INSIDE the flat so I moved the small garden "bistro" square table which was outside including one of the two garden chairs. No specific parking space, only street parking.
- Zoe (8/5): Comfortable property and convenient location. - Some bread, milk, tea and coffee were supplied.
- Jan (10/5): Little Highfield Kingsbridge Devon - An absolutely delightful apartment perfectly located close to the little harbour and village. The apartment was spotlessly clean, modern and bright. Caroline went the extra mile to cater for my every need. A Perfect host and very helpful. I look forward to returning and can highly recommend. There was absolutely nothing I didn't like so I cannot make a comment here.
