Guest Reviews
- Kate (10/5): Lovely hotel with good ambience in very easy location to M6 - Easy check in and food had a good choice and quickly served. Our dog made to feel welcome N/A
- Di (8/5): Nice place to stay . Friendly staff. Good food and clean tidy rooms. - Location was perfect. Close to M6 and work site. My only complaint was the pillows. Not suitable for me and in future I'll bring my own.
- ontheroad64 (7/5): Good experience, one of the best in the area. - The rooms are beautifully finished and decorated in a no fuss, scandinavian chic style. The cleaning team are very good and focus on every detail. The restaurant is very good and pulls in customers from miles around. Ample parking was a huge plus. WiFi was excellent all over the hotel. The shower wasn't working correctly and even though I raised the issue with the staff, the solution wasn't what I expected. Didn't see "the owners" or anyone directing proceedings or engaging with customers. The dining room nearest the bar gets extremely stuffy in the evenings; there's mo AC and the windows can't be opened. Not ideal.
- Colin (9/5): Excellent value and a great place to stay either heading north or south. - Evrning meal and breakfast very good; room very good
- Robert (10/5): - Everything

- Tony P (9/5): Perfect in every way! - The Hotel was except nearly clean, modern And the rooms were very well kissed out as was the bathrooms with absolutely everything you could need, even a little dish for the teabags! The staff were exceptional nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb. We had an evening meal of the seabass and it was absolutely delicious and plenty of it! The breakfast was the nicest cooked breakfast that we have had whilst away, for a long time. The sausages were just lovely. It was served to your table. The hotel was near a canal so we were able to go for a nice long walk. The bed was very comfortable and it was very good value for money. There was absolutely nothing that we did not like

- Caroline (10/5): Extremely comfortable and enjoyable - Super comfortable beds, clean and modern rooms. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Noise of cars roaring around a nearby field in middle of the night after a car show. Not the fault of the hotel!!

- Julie (9/5): All good, I will overlook the few short comings! - The location was perfect for our needs.
Breakfast was good.. only selected a few items from the Full English, but all very tasty and well presented. Bar staff were not that great!
Coming from NZ .. I know my Sauvignon Blanc.
The one I was served was warm, not perfectly chilled.
The young lady wasn't very responsive to that.
The young lady in the restaurant was a bit off.. needs to listen and respond nicely!
Cleaning staff lovely.. and do a great job.. Thank you!.

- Monika (10/5): Relaxing and Practical Business Stay - The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well presented, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed but well looked after.
I especially liked the friendly and helpful staff—they made the stay feel welcoming and easy. The food was also a highlight, with good quality and a nice variety to choose from. No plug sockets near the bed, but I am really nitpicking.

- Samantha (9/5): Would return - Property exceeded expectations. Rooms were lovely and very clean. Lady on reception was very polite and helpful. We also had dinner and the food was superb!!! Only thing we found was how thin the walls are and could hear everyone/thing in rooms next to us
- Kay (9/5): - Convenient location for overnighter on longer journey. Facility for evening meal. Ground floor accommodation. Multiple facilities in one place. Good value for money. Could have had disabled facilities in ground floor rooms. e.g. comfort height WC accessible shower. Suitable mirror instead of small 6 inch square mirror on high windowsill.

- Michel (9/5): Just a very warm, comfortable friendly modern vibe - Room nicely furnished, spotlessly clean, comfortable. Nice places to sit around the hotel. Good evening meal at the restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of extra tea & coffee supplies available. Very, very minor points! It’s nice if reception staff make eye contact, especially for customers who are hard of hearing. It would have been great to have a choice of coffee at breakfast, or hot milk to add to the very strong brew!
- Anne Rosemary (8/5): First visit. Will definitely go back - Very tidy and clean. Welcoming
- Susan (10/5): An excellent stay - Bright clean . Mix of modern and original. Space to sit outside.
Lovely canal walk from hotel. Nothing
- Russ (9/5): Good overall stay - Food was excellant and hotel decor is very nice. Staff all very helpful at reception, bar and in the restaurant Room was very hot despite turning off the radiator and opening the window so sleep was disturbed.
- Sarah (10/5): - Great location for what we needed. Staff very friendly, rooms clean and comfortable and food was great. Nothing
- Angela (7/5): - Location, convenience and ease
- Russ (8/5): Great food and restaurant service - Food and waiting staff were excellant. Location was great for a stop over enroute to Scotland and the room allocated in the end was very nice and comfortable. Despite having booked 5 months in advance we were allocated a room overlooking a skip and old toilets and which also faced the main road! Therefore we had to persuade the receptionist to change the room for us! Needless to say the experience did taint our first impression somewhat.
- Lorna (9/5): A very pleasant welcoming inn with good rooms and bathrooms. Pub/restaurant bar is nice with comfortable areas to s - Welcoming hotel with atmosphere and nice staff Surplus chairs piled up in entrance hall didn’t look very nice. Dog charge at £20 seems pricey- most places £10.
- Alan (10/5): Exellent -
- Gina (9/5): Easy, comfortable, treated - Comfortable, easy access lovely staff N/a
- Graham (9/5): -
- LOUISE (10/5): Wonderful stay - Gorgeous clean newly decorated it seemed in places

- Rachel (10/5): -
- Jimmy (8/5): A lovely hotel - This is a lovely hotel ideal location for the event I attended good food and friendly staff Being Bombarded with emails before my say from the hotel and booking.com about booking food once is quite enough. Also I did receive suspected spam emails asking for verification this needs looking into
- Michael (10/5): - The receptionist Keira went above and beyond to help me during my stay. They are lucky to have her ! N/A
- Linda (9/5): Even with the few disappointments a good place to stay. - Great location, very clean and lovely decor A little disappointed we were allocated a table in the pub for are evening meal rather than the restaurant.
Could not get the TV to work, receptionist also tried but no joy.

- Stewart (8/5): Good but not happy with the work and niose - Friendly staff good food Work going on with noisy drilling from early morning
- Glen (9/5): - Nice place, very busy, good spot when travelling down/to Scotland for a stopover.
- karen (10/5): -
- Kara (10/5): - Beautiful quiet hotel, communal areas are exceptional. Mattress was so hard
- Louise (9/5): - Lovely hotel, bar and restaurant.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Food good. Needs more seating in the bar area.
- Rankine (9/5): -
- Lorraine (9/5): Our 'go to' hotel in the area - We always stay at Crooklands when we're visiting relatives in the area and they never let us down. The staff are super friendly and facilities excellent. Breakfast is also lovely. It's a really minor point but there was water pooling in the shower which meant the bathroom had the smell of stagnant water.
- MEG (9/5): Great staff, great attitude. Will book direct next time to benefit from the free breakfast - I arrived mid afternoon & spent a very pleasant time in the bar area where despite it being very busy we felt looked after & made very welcome. Dinner was great although I would have liked a larger choice of even smaller main courses ( am getting older so very personal comment but did not detract from the excellent food & service) All good - in the context of spending a lot of my time in hotels on business - this is a great find.
Small thing: could you reduce / get rid of the no of cushions in the bedroom? They seem surplus to the ambience of the room.
I put them on the other bed but I'm sure other guests may just chuck them on the floor.
