Guest Reviews
- C (8/5): - The lake gardens and ambience is lovely.
Loved the tea and coffee milk water in the room. The linen and towels are lovely. Our cottage C9 needs some work. There is a lot of damp coming through the one bedroom wall. đ
The bed was on a very noisy creaky base.
The 'rugs' were old and rather shoddy. The fitted carpets are old and stained.
The bathroom needs a blind to block out the garden light which is right outside and shines even through to the bedroom.
The front door needs adjusting, very hard and very loud to bang closed.
The restaurant was ok. Food ok. It's rather tacky and not classy to have all the condiments left on the tables all the time. The sliding wooden doors need repairing. Rain was running into the restaurant to the carpets, which my hubby and I quickly rescued and a waiter came with towels.

- Frederik (10/5): Best away tripe we had, didnât want to leave. - Everything, it is peaceful, healing and absolutely beautiful

- Meyer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Gerenger-craig (8/5): Very good - The menu at the on-site rests was limiting in that it didnât offer a vegetarian main course

- Pinard (8/5): Very good -
- Isabel (8/5): Perfect getaway from city for a short stay. - Dinner was good ambience and great experience, fireplace & wood, room comfortable & luxury (#12), view from room (#12), very close to town either by foot or car. No wifi in #C9, tv only have sign in options #L12, one of the electric blankets did not work.

- Fabiom10 (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms were very neat and really had everything that you needed. They went the extra mile. Room had an odd smell
- Alona (8/5): Tranquility - I want to see that the âold traditionalâ culture still stays
Because we are regular visitors to Dullstroom for nearly 30years now
That is why we love Walkersons for the old English country feeling.
The Lakeside View unit nr 12 at Critchley Hackle was very good .
I really felt like I was in heaven Love the decor, reminds me of the past years with Dullstroom and its trout and dam culture.
We have a farm near Dullstroom and will see you again Our mattress and pillows really needs attention.
I think it is too old and worn out, đ sorry
And then while Iâm on the didnât like list
The restaurant owners are very nice people and the food not too bad.
But there is where I got the feeling the culture there is busy changing.
It was always the waiters with their nice black and white suits and white serviette over the arm ready to serve.
The light in the glass dining area is blinding you. They say thay will dim it but only when you ask. There is no ambiance.
Me and my husband had a nice chat with Val and Yolandi, they are really good people
But it would be much better if the restaurant can have that Traditional dining experience back.
I get the feeling of a pub restaurant.
Owner was discussing the rest of his guests and their complaints with us.

- William (9/5): Superb - A really beautiful property in a fabulous location. Easily within walking distance or short drive to all that Dullstroom has to offer. Our accommodation was immaculate and very tastefully decorated. The trout dam is a great feature and very pleasant scene to sit beside from your unit.
- Stephan (7/5): Good -
- Sean (8/5): Lovely location, nice people, needs the restaurant. - Peaceful setting.
Nice trout dam.
Close to Dullstroom. Restaurant closed, apparently privately run but when we booked this was not disclosed. Being able to have breakfast in that setting was one of the attractions. This needs to be rectified.

- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Pieter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shelton (5/5): The stay would have been more enjoyable if the bar and kitchen were open. - Location is great !
Fishing is good The kitchen and bar are closed as Critchley have not replaced the previous management and staff as yet. The price asked to stay at Critchley is normally accepted because of the facilities including a kitchen and bar. There should have been some relief on the tariff based on the fact that one now has to leave the premises for a drink or a meal. The room needs renovation as the ceiling is in poor shape and needs repair and paint.
- Brandon (9/5): A little peace of heaven, in the heart of Dullstroom. - Beautiful and charming, great location, lovely room with excellent amenities. Key collection was in a different location, this was not clearly communicated, which resulted in unnecessary confusion and delay.

Spotlessly clean! Beautiful cottages. We had expected the restaurant to be open again, and WiFi in the rooms to be complete.

- Servanne (9/5): Very beautiful and comfortable - The location was lovely and close to town. The chalet we had was comfortable, however it would have been nice to have chairs outside to enjoy the gardens. Only the front chalets had patios with furniture on. At supper the first night we had lamb shank which was supposed to be slow roasted...it was hard and very dry. We decided not to eat there again
