- Stefanie (10/5): Look no further for an affordable quality room - Wonderful staff, great location, and such a great price for the size and standard of the room It’s an old house so you can hear a lot through the walls. - Oldfield (9/5): Despite my bathroom experience, I would still strongly recommend this hotel. - Everything we needed. Clean, pleasant room with a sea view. The link to D H Lawrence was very interesting. My room was not en-suite. Although my allocated bathroom was massive, trying to lock and unlock doors quietly at 3am was very difficult.
- Houghton (7/5): - Tara was very friendly and helped with my bags.
Nice big room with Tv, on suite shower and a balcony.
A lovely touch was the toiletries that were supplied.
I brought my own, having curly hair, I need special products, but it's always a nice touch has it's easy to forget to bring your own.
A substantial amount of tea, coffee, milk and sugar supplied with a nice sized quick boil Kettle.
This is something I do find lacking quite alot, in even in more expensive hotels I've stayed in, so that was a big plus.
Usually the kettle takes forever and the supply of tea and coffee is quite limited so needs to be eeked out to last.
A proper key for the room and front door instead of the usual key card, is soo much easier to use and works. Paying for the hotel, I was left totally in the dark over.
This could have been communicated both times to me but it wasn't.
I had to chase for when the rest of the balance was to be paid and only then was I told "on the day you arrive".
The money came out my bank account while I was travelling down on the train, again something that could have been communicated alot better, has I presumed I'd have to pay it by card at the hotel.
Only two usesble plug sockets in the bedroom.
Luckly I'd brought my extention wich had two sockets and phone charging facilitys so I was OK, but a couple may struggle with charging phones and heated hair products.
Pillows.
Too many including hard heavy display ones, I just didnt see the point of them.
I did find a soft pillow but it was also quite thin, so I had to put a dense hard one under it so as not to get neck pain while sleeping.
Also a summer weight duvet would have been better than the feathered heavy one on the bed especially during the warm weather. I slept on top of the bed during my stay.
- Sally (10/5): Will stay again - Great location, very clean, amazing shower
- Evans (9/5): Great two days away - The welcome was lovely and the room and the facilities was perfect for what we were after! Good value and a really clean well made up room! I think it would be great if there was a fan available. We visited during a hot few days so expected to be warm but with it being two of us in a compact room and the window not opening far enough to get much air, it did become too hot to sleep well. This is not the fault of the hotel at all and we did have a lovely stay so wouldn't mark down for this but a fan would be great/a sign to say a fan is available on request maybe.
- Leah (6/5): - The room was nice and the balcony overlooking the sea was lovely. The bedroom seemed well cleaned and bed made up well. They provided clean towels and some bathroom amenities like shampoo and soap etc. The check in process was quick and easy and the owner was very nice. We were even told that we could check in early which worked well for our trains arrival time. The kettle provided had a lot of limescale and no filter so it got into our tea. There were lots of cobwebs on the balcony that could have been cleaned. The shower head pressure was low and there was grime on the shower head that did not make me feel clean showering with. Also I felt like the room could have used a small dining table inside with a kettle etc on instead of the little shelf. This would enable the occupants to have somewhere to sit and have tea in the morning or have something to eat instead of having to sit on the bed or on the vanity table that faced the wall

- Walton (7/5): -

- Campbell (8/5): - the room plus the balcony small tv
- Les (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay with everything I needed. Would definitely stay again. - Clean, had everything I needed and room was comfortable as a solo traveller. Great location, easy walk to town and the beaches. N/A
