Guest Reviews
- Quenten (9/5): A great stay. Very warm and comfortable. - Quaint little cottage in a great location for exploring the Peak District. Nothing much. Fire place is just decorative.
- Kieran (10/5): -
- Couzins (9/5): Superb - Great location in a lovely village, comfortable beds and sofa. Lovely cottage Missing a tin opener and the coffee was solid in the jar! Front door got stuck at the half way opening point
- Simon (7/5): Good over all ! I think if they made a roof top garden over the garage, it would finish the property off ! - Sofa was nice n comfortable.
Had a very good kitchen with everything you could need .
Shower was excellent! There was a constant humming next to the bed coming from the cupboard
- Leanne (9/5): Superb -
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent village location. Super cosy cottage. Very well equipped Nothing…just rebooked !
- Lee (10/5): Relaxing, very comfortable cottage with easy access to beautiful countryside - Host was extremely friendly and we could not fault the cottage - lovely and warm, very comfortable beds and extremely quiet surroundings - great place to relax Nothing

- Stephen (9/5): Lovely clean and warm - Warm cosy clean and modern good location Pillows to firm.

- Suzanne (9/5): Superb - Very cute cottage, great location
- Ellen (9/5): Tastefully converted, cosy, character cottage with superb beds and mod. cons. - Provision of an electric shaver point or adaptor.
- Douglas (8/5): A convenient village to explore the delights of the Peak District, including Chatsworth House. - Alex was a helpful host when we had a couple of issues with the property.
Excellent eating venues are within easy driving (or walking) distance. Excellent local cheeses from the village shop (in Great Longstone). Noise from the hot water boiler one metre away from my ear during the night (in a cupboard in the corner of the bedroom) - very disturbing when trying to sleep. We turned it off at night and on again in the morning.
Also, a smoke detector battery required changing - and sounded a loud 'chirp' repeatedly at 2 am! Regular changing of the smoke alarm batteries (6-monthly) is recommended to prevent guests' sleep being disturbed in the middle of the night.
- Casandra (7/5): Good - Overall very comfortable. The decor was to my taste - no flounces, frills or florals. Washing machine proved handy. Great location in a very quaint village. Lots of maps and info provided and never had a problem parking our car out front. The mattress on the bed was very comfortable but the doona was very hot and we had 4 restless nights even with the window open and heating turned off.
There was only handwash provided in the bathroom. Complimentary toiletries would have been welcome.
There was no dishwasher.
- Helen (8/5): 3 night break at Applehoe Cottage - The cottage is set in a village location with 2 pubs within walking distance.
We had no issues with the on street parking, the cottage is compact but has everything you need inside. It's decorated with modern finishes and an excellent power shower which was much needed after a day's walking.
I would definitely re book and recommend. The bathroom is I need of a re vamp especially around the shower screen area.
The double bed was squeaky.
- Rebecca (10/5): Cosy cottage in a great location for exploring/ walks. Cottage was very clean & comfortable. Local pubs were gre - Exactly like the pictures, warm, welcoming and had everything you needed.
- Jennifer (10/5): Beautiful cottage. Perfect for a Peak District getaway - Perfectly situated for the walks and cycles we wanted to do No outside space
- Karen (10/5): Great place ..enjoyed our stay. - Well equipped beautiful location. Checkin times .. 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
Cottage is smaller than we anticipated.
- Kay (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (8/5): Great base from which to explore - Location, beds, clean Front door handle, very noisy toilet flush
- John (8/5): Good - Self catering, location excellent No garden/outside sitting area
- Shiona (9/5): Beautiful and well thought out cottage in pretty village. - A lovely cottage in a pretty village. Very comfortable and beautifully presented. Dog friendly - no garden but green areas close by. It was wonderful - but be aware that the stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom are very steep and could be a problem if any mobility issues.
- Jackie (9/5): Superb -

Everything you could need Steep stairs, but manageable
