Guest Reviews
- Vish (10/5): Beautiful, cozy and peaceful stay.. - It's a beautiful homestay near the bank of a vast backwater stream. Surrounded by a lot of greenery.. mangroves and mango orchards. I had a balcony room with a great view. The room was very spacious and clean with all amenities. There was AC but since I was traveling in January, I did not need it. Hot water is available for bathing in morning after 7 am. It is about 15 KM from the main city.. and is connected by public transport(bus). There is plenty of space in front yard so if you are traveling with your vehicle, you can park it there.
Also Anirudh Ji , who runs the homestay is a very kind man. He helped me get around places where I could get a bus.
He also cooks great meals. I had breakfast and dinner for all the days , it was sumptuous , tasty and reasonably priced.
PS: You can do a lot of bird watching and see amazing sunrise from the terrace.
- Ghadage (8/5): Very good -
- Rohan (9/5): Superb - Very clean .
Looks aa it mentioned on site.
Nice peaceful location with good view
- Manisha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tanveer (8/5): Needs a few improvements and rules need to be relaxed - The location is serene and peaceful. The Bhurke family who manages the homestay has this property in the woods of Shrigaon Adi which is approx 7 km from Ratnagiri. Aniruddha Bhurke is a polite host who made a map of the routes connecting the property to Ratnagiri and some nearby beaches. He also gave me suggestions for eateries. The refreshments and food you get at this homestay is reasonably priced as the place is affiliated to the Maharashtra Tourism Department.
The property overlooks a creek and a lot of trees, giving you serene and vibrant views from your room and the terrace.
Being away from the city, the weather was extremely pleasant with chilly mornings. No WiFi and no laundry service. I was given a soap to wash my clothes and dry them in the balcony. The rules are a bit rigid. You cannot open the windows for the fear of birds coming in. You have to remove your footwear outside your room at a spot away from your door. You have to ensure that the balcony door and entrance to the homestay area are shut at all times. It felt as if I were in a boarding school. Lol.
For a 6 footer like me, the bed was small. Hot water is available only from 7.30 to 11 am as the heater runs on fire and they have to burn logs each time to hear the water. If you want hot water in the evening, you have to inform the owner a few hours in advance. This was the biggest turn-off for me.
There is no car parking in the premises and the gate has to be opened and shut each time you leave the property, either by yourself or in your vehicle.
The location given on Booking.com is not accurate and the property is located deep inside a village road so navigating to the place can be an issue but the owner will guide you to the location.
