Wayne (10/5): Very comfortable, relaxing and trouble free. - Great location, close to Lakeland Motor Museum, Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, Windermere & Coniston. River location peaceful - the photos don’t do the place justice- it’s very attractive. Lots of brilliant history too. Nearby abandoned ironworks, Aquamarine blue factory - now a hotel. Noisiest thing are the birds and the stream which are great to wake up to. Accommodation has a fab big comfortable bed plus twin room. Nearby large parking space just outside property, making loading and unloading easy. Home from home luxuries such as dishwasher and washing machine, and both a walk-in shower and bath which is very unusual these days. I’d have no hesitation in returning in the future. Two double rooms would have been preferred over a twin.

Debbie (10/5): Absolutely Fantastic - Absolutely fantastic, the view outside the cottage was breathtaking. The 2 bedroom cottage had everything you could need, parking was close to the cottage which was great. We spent most of our time in the garden enjoying the sunshine - we were blessed with the weather. The motor museum was within easy walking distance with a nice cafe over looking the river. Great for watching wildlife and relaxing. If taking a dog have an extendable lead as the barriers at the end of garden are not fixed in place - they do warn you about this in the booklet when you arrive but I was unaware of it from the pictures on booking.com. I had to pay an additional £25 to take the dog, not included in what you pay booking.com but the staff left a little doggy goody bag and some blankets out for her which was a really nice touch. Our spaniel loved it there. You can even see the steam train go by from the kitchen window! Fabulous. A downstairs toliet would have been good, there is room for one and it would save climbing up the stairs. It would be handy for those with mobility issues. Also as we were leaving a staff member said we needed to pay for the electricity used, they wanted to come and get a meter reading, but when I checked with booking.com they said everything was included. The staff member was polite about it but it was a bit of a shock, maybe they were new.
Jacob (9/5): Lovely stay in an ideal location for adventuring around the south lakes - miss it already! - We really enjoyed our stay in this holiday cottage, and were pleasantly greeted by the balcony view over the river. The location was ideal for us to adventure around the south lakes for the weekend, coming back to the cottage in the evening, and we found the bed and sofas comfy and cosy. The kitchen, shower and bath were all easy to use and the coffee machine was a nice touch. Whilst this was an excellent stay, a few minor things we'd have liked. The bedroom lamps were all very bright even when only one lamp was on, maybe lower powered bulbs or dimmer switches would be nice. We also noticed quite a few wasps getting into the bathroom even when the window was closed (had to evict 3 over our 3-night stay!). It would also have been helpful to have a few basic cooking supplies (salt, pepper, sugar, oil) as we had to drive to a supermarket to buy each of these and then take home, whilst we would only use a small amount of each.

Alex (10/5): Fantastic 4 night stay - We’ve just returned from a fantastic four-night stay at Lakeland Village and I honestly couldn’t recommend it more highly, we’ve stayed here a few times previously. From the moment we arrived, we were again impressed by how clean and well-presented everything was, and the standard apartment we stayed in has been recently refurbished. The apartment itself was absolutely spotless, clearly very well cared for, which made settling in so easy and comfortable. The value for money is excellent, especially considering the stunning surroundings. The views of the river and the beautifully maintained grounds really made the stay feel special. Everything about the area is so well kept, and the location is perfect for exploring the Lake District. Overall, an outstanding place to stay, peaceful, scenic, and incredibly well maintained. We would definitely return without hesitation. The only negative was the shower pressure was not great but we raised the issue and they are looking into it.

Fridge, freezer, dishwasher AND washing machine couldn't want for anything more. Stayed in 30 Mill Race. Can't wait to go back here.

We stayed in apartment 13 that slept 6 I felt it had one of the best views of the river, and was right next door to hotel. My son and girlfriend ate in hotel and said it was very good. 5 minutes walk from steam railway that takes you to the boat. Recommend Anglers arms for a meal was delicious. I will be returning excellent value for money. Absolutely nothing

Everything was straight forward checking in and the help and info from the staff leading up to our stay was perfect. There’s a welcome folder with all local attractions, shops, pubs etc to make things simple. The dogs got a welcome gift bag which was a nice touch. Ian (10/5): Lovely short South Lakes stays - Prime location in the south lakes, easy access off the A590. Windermere, Coniston and coastal towns like Grange over Sands to name a few are just a short drive away. The property is very well maintained, fully equipped kitchen, open fire in the living room with French doors leading to a private garden overlooking the river Leven. Master bedroom had 2 comfortable single beds also with views of the river. Allocated car parking space for one car. Other spaces available very nearby.

SANDY (9/5): Great place to stay, lots to do and so handy for all the walks and attractions. - The property was excellent, everything you need, we only stayed for 3 nights but we could quite easily go back and stay again. The only thing that was not quite good was the parking as we had a small space to park and someone next to us and we both have big cars so it was very tight to get in and out, also we had a small dog with us and leading out of the property at the back was an open space with just a metal barrier so we had to keep the dog on the lead all the time. It would've been good to have an enclosed space but apart from that it was great.

Carr (7/5): It did the job - It is a perfect place to stay for a relaxing and quiet holiday. We had beautiful views of the river and forest. There are fun activities to do like giant chess, checkers and connect 4. Also a play park for children and the club house offers board games and dvds to watch back in your cottage. We also opted to have fire wood so we could have a fire in our cottage. Our cottage smelt like soup when we first arrived. It took a while for the smell to leave. It would be nice if there was better sign posting in the cottage for all the cupboards. For instance, we only found the seat cushions on the last night, which would have been handy to have sooner. When we asked for firewood and fire starters, however, we were not given any matches, meaning we could not light the fire, even though we asked for matches. We had to drive over 5 miles to find somewhere that sold matches in order to have a fire the same night. When we alerted the staff member on the day it was to settle our bill, she didn't really seem too bothered and proceeded to charge us the full amount for the logs. I asked for a discount due to the inconvenience, and she did knock off the price of the fire lighters.
Shazia (8/5): Weather was on our side, lovely home from home stay with all the amenities required. - We booked one of their apartments, it was situated inside of the hotel. It was clean and had all the essentials required for self catering. I liked the fact we had 2 bathrooms. There was lots of extra towels and bedding. We had a balcony facing the view of the passing river. It was a quite area, no rowdy ness. We were 25 minutes from Windermere and other local shops like Aldi and booths which was like an M&S alternative. I cannot fault anything, we had enough space for 5 people, we also had the luxury of 2 bathrooms which is very rare. Could have had Netflix, but no issue as we didn’t get in till later everyday.

Lorna (8/5): Very good - The location was excellent. Just 500 mtrs to the Lake Land car museum. A 5 minute drive to the Haverwaite steam railway which took you to the ferry's. Accommodation was excellent very spacious overlooking the river where we watched a number people enjoying the rapids canoeing. Very central to visit a number of places around the lakes. No mention on the site which we booked with regarding the leisure centre which was on site. Need to pack a swimming costume in advance. As this includes swimming, gym, beauty treatments ect.. It was part of the hotel and available to people not staying at the hotel. Great for rainy days. Other activities also not mentioned, children's playground, tennis courts, large outside garden games to name a few.

Kapow666 (8/5): Good comfortable stay - Great location, we already know the area well. Finding the property was dramatic, Google maps sent us across the road, and then we couldn't find the block at first. After a short walk, I could see the building behind the hotel. We expected the apartment in the photos, so we were a little disappointed with the tiny balcony. It didn't state it would look different. However, the first floor isn't difficult if you are ok with stairs, the view is nice. We could hear the family below us and their vocal small child. Luckily, we are early risers 😂 Overall a good few days away. Beware the super loud jets that fly over. My soul nearly left my body a number of times while out exploring 🤣 Quite overlooked, so curtains on one side were drawn while we were in. Tiny balcony. Low pressure showers.
Gareth (9/5): Excellent Riverside retreat. Would highly recommend. - The whole apartment exceeded expectations, to the point we extended our trip an extra night. The location is great, and balcony view over the river was excellent. Even the Haverthwaite steam train passing on the hillside never gets old. We will definitely be returning.

Barbara (9/5): We loved the apartment and the surrounding area it was quiet and had lovely views. - Our stay at Lakeland Village was really nice and the people were very helpful. The view from our apartment was lovely overlooking the river with lots of wildlife. There were walks locally and lots of places to visit only a short car ride away. We went on the Gondola at Coniston with some lovely views along the river. The only thing I would say was that it was difficult to find our apartment, at first, as it was inside the hotel and maybe the direction notice could do with being a little clearer.
