Guest Reviews
- Leanne (10/5): - Fantastic stay in a beautiful property and great location. N/A
- SamTT (6/5): A pleasant stay and close to town. - An Old World decorative style in the house but more modern equipment needed in kitchen. Also no washing machine or dryer. Also the dining room has very little light and needs up-rated light bulbs. The back door needs replaced as hard to unlock to get to rubbish bins. Other that these very simple points ; a comfortable place to stay. On a main road so can be noisy at times.
- Leanne (10/5): - We booked Treblenick House as a last minute one night break away. The property is beautifully decorated for its period and was a real treat. The plan was to spend the night in Thirsk (5 Minute Walk away) and very nearly cut our night short to have a cosy night in. We have since booked the 2 night break for in-laws birthday as we know they will love it.
Thanks to Allison for great communication. N/A
- Joanne (10/5): Cosy Easter Break in Thirsk - Cosy house , well equipped and lovely decor .
The 2 bathrooms were a bonus for 2 couples staying . There’s an enormous garden to the rear and spacious private parking to the front.
Treblenick house is in a good location just a short stroll into town.
A thoughtful welcome pack of Easter cupcakes and a bottle of Prosecco was a nice surprise! The Easter decorations were a lovely touch too : ) No negatives
- Fiona (10/5): Perfection, thank you - We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house in Thirsk. The property was spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay and some lovely treats on arrival. It truly felt like a home away from home.
- Catriona (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful house, the pictures don't do it justice. It is really quirky with a unique style. Very clean & had everything we needed for a weekend away. Great location.
The garden was stunning & huge, would love to return in the summer.
- Kirsty (10/5): - Lovely home with everything we needed and more. Wish we had booked to stay for 2 nights but it was just a flying visit to see family. We would love to come back soon.
- Caroline (10/5): Lovely two night stay only wish we could have stayed longer. - Fantastic property with lovely period features. Lovely well kept garden. Ample parking. Very thoughtful host who left cakes for our sons birthday and a bottle of wine for the adults. Already planning our next stay! Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Lovely stay - will definitely be back. - Super clean and comfortable, engaging host, great location within easy walking distance of Thirsk town centre.
Beautiful garden with ample parking for two cars.
- Guest (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): An excellent house to stay in North Yorkshire. - Treblenick House is an exceptionally clean house with high-quality fixtures and fittings that made our stay really pleasant. A great area for parking our car with easy access and secure. A reasonably short walk to access the centre of Thirsk to go to the cafes, restaurants, and bars. It was easy to contact the owner when we needed to regarding my bad driving to the property location. We will return to Treblenick House for stays in the future. There is nothing to dislike about the prooerty at all. A 15-minute walk to the centre of Thirsk.
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Gordon (10/5): - Everything. Beautiful house and lovely garden
- Darren (10/5): -
- Lynda (10/5): - Fabulous, quirky, comfortable, central & would defo use again
- Nicky (10/5): - Easy to access it was bonus drive way straight outside the house. Very clean and comfortable, everything you needed in kitchen. Outside space was beautiful. Nothing to dislike
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Lynn (9/5): Pleasant stay! -
- Carole (10/5): Thirsk Little Gem - Treblenick House is a little gem. Gorgeous interior and very homely. A fabulous large garden where you can sit out and enjoy the view of the garden, with a little glass of something you like 😊 The only down is the road noise if you are in the front of the house, but it's not something that put me off as you get used to it, I've visited this house 3 times to date 😁. Also, if there was room for twin beds it would be welcomed. I had to share the larger bed with my big sis (70 years old) - brought back memories of our childhood 😂
- Joanne (10/5): Wonderful! - Absolutely stunning property! I was travelling with my elderly parents who were totally blown away by all the attention to detail in each room. The house had everything you would need for a relaxing stay, the kitchen was fully equipped, both bathrooms had walk in showers, there was an outdoor table and chairs in a huge garden, just simply lovely. I also noticed a car charging point at the front of the preoperty. The house is exactly like it is in the pictures. Entry is via a code given for a key safe outside the property and the host was extremely helpful when I messaged her by email. It is a very short, flat walk in to the town centre. I would not hesitate to return if I was in the area again. The bedrooms didn't have curtains ( had venetian blinds) which meant the bedrooms were very light much of the night and early morning. The rest of the house was so stunning though, I feel churlish for mentioning! I would just pack a sleep mask!
- Deborah (9/5): Superb - Lovely back garden. Clean cottage and fully equipped.
- Maria (7/5): A great stopover on our journey south. - It's a lovely period house with a super garden. The owner has obviously put in a great deal of thought in to the furnishings. The kitchen is compact but was ideal for the two of us. You have everything you need for your stay. Linen and towels smelt clean and the bathrooms were spotless. The house is in a great location for walking into the main square in Thirsk and has the bonus of parking out front. We couldn't work the heating and the fire in the lounge didn't work. I'm guessing that the battery was dead in the remote?
- Sandra (10/5): Well located cottage full of unexpected touches. - Easy walk to the historic centre of Thirsk from a beautifully decorated cottage. A large back garden to relax in at the end of the day was an unexpected bonus. We appreciated the thoughtfulness of the host who went out of her way to make our stay perfect.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lalit (10/5): Excellent - Very homely accommodation and very tastefully decorated. The hosts made our stay as comfortable as they could have.
- Ian (10/5): Loved it - Quirky and very comfortable, not much matched but everything fitted, really well put together property reflecting the houses ages through the years, loved the parrot lamp! spotlessly clean and very comfortable, loved the huge garden with different seating areas which meant you could get the sun regardless of time of day, location great, a few minutes walk into town but far enough away from the hustle and bustle, would we come back again? Absolutely and having an EV charger was great for us x Nothing really
- Philip (10/5): Best property we've stayed in for quite a long time. - Loved the house. Plenty of period features, whilst not feeling old fashioned. Very comfortable throughout inc sofas and bed.
Communication from the owner was superb.
Off-road parking was a definite bonus and big enough for two cars. Handy for town, which is less than 10mins walk away.
The garden out back is very well maintained and really large, and would be great in the summer. Some road noise, but not enough to bother me.
Great value for money. Best property we've stayed in for quite a long time. N/A
- Dawn (9/5): All enjoyed are stay and would recommend it. - Everything the house was clean and welcoming. No door on the sitting room.
- Becky (9/5): Beautiful house - 5 mins from the centre of Thirsk. - Beautiful house with comfortable stylish furnishings. Lots of thoughtful touches to make your stay perfect. Lovely host - communication very good and any queries were answered very quickly.
Great location - five mins walk from the centre of Thirsk. Perfect location for the local restaurants and pubs.
The property has a beautiful garden - such a shame that our stay was in February and we couldn’t put it to good use! We would love to stay again. Highly recommend.
- Christine (10/5): Amazing - Cosy, comfortable & quirky. Book this house, you will not be disappointed. Nothing
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - My two friends and I loved this cottage. It was so cosy and comfortable. The decor was lovely. It had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. It was super clean. Great location. We would love to return.
- Susie (10/5): Lovely place to stay xx - Everything was perfect thank you
- Jason (10/5): Fabulous stay! - Great location, lovely property, spotlessly clean. Attentive and caring host.
- Fiona (9/5): Comfortable home. -
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent. Would definitely come again - Homely, comfortable and with lots of nice touches Nothing
- John (9/5): Superb - The house is lovely and Allison is very helpful and obliging. A really excellent welcome pack was provided. The house was spotlessly clean and was festively prepared. We really liked the style of the property the bedrooms are really nice and the beds are comfy. Bathrooms are spacious and the showers are good and roomy. It's location is just a short walk into Thirsk town centre, which is really nice with various shops and pubs and eating places and a Tesco store. We planned to have our Christmas day dinner in and the kitchen was just a bit small for us to do for four people with limited workspace, but we managed in the end.
- Sandra (10/5): great location - Tastefully decorated
- Tracey (10/5): Great quirky cottage - Great location as was doing the polar express at wensleydale which was only 20 mins away.
Very clean, powerful shower, had everything to use in the kitchen. Beautiful garden, loved seeing the robin at breakfast.
- Rachel (10/5): Fantastic weekend away. - We had a fabulous weekend in this gorgeous house. It has lots of character, a huge garden and it is walking distance to everything in the town. Great communication from Allison, she made it special for us, so we felt well looked after. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone and would love to come back. Nothing, everything was fabulous!
- Len (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Fabulous base for a Christmas shopping expedition!! - Excellent location, fabulous property, cool period decoration- we will be back again Nothing
- Derek (10/5): Perfect stay in another one of you’re lovely holiday homes. Thank you xx - Location, comfort and the little personal touches. Allison things of everything and more. Their is nothing not to like.
- Susan (10/5): Beautiful home from home. - Absolutely stunning property and gardens beautifully clean and comfortable.
- Janice (10/5): Exceptional - The house retains a lot of beautiful art deco features. As we were attending a family wedding, we did not explore the garden fully, but I imagine that it would be a lovely place to sit out in the summer. Off road parking so close to the town centre was a definite bonus.
- Tony (10/5): Home from home experience in a beautifully decorated home near to all the facilities of Thirsk. - Warm comforting beautifully decorated accommodation. Spotlessly clean with large well cared for garden. Delightful welcome pack on arrival. It was a home from home experience with everything available. Would highly recommend.
- Julie (9/5): Wonderful house for a short break, very friendly and helpful host. Extremely handy for Thirsk races - The house was beautifully decorated, well equipped and smelt lovely 😍 Just a little noisy with the busy street outside but didn't spoil our break at all, would definitely return
- Isabel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Redman (10/5): Exceptional - Loverly house easy to get into market place Alison so friendly Nothing
- Barbara (10/5): Wonderful exceptional host and accommodation -
- Ann (9/5): Superb -
- Christina (10/5): Amazing stay at a beautiful place and beutiful location - The property is beautiful and was spotless, thank you for the perfect stay for me and my young family for my brothers wedding, we will be back Everything was perfect
- Alan (10/5): Lovely property, great facilities & location - Location, fab host & great facilities.
- Tracy (10/5): Lovely 2 bed house with 2 bathrooms. Spotlessly clean, lovely extra touches. - Excellent location. Fantastic facilities and a beautiful garden to relax in. All in all a perfect find. There was nothing not to like. Allison was really friendly and helpful. Let us park before check in time and as the property was ready we could go straight in.
- Laura (10/5): Home from home - Parking for 2 cars on the drive was a welcome surprise, as we were travelling with my parents in 2 cars.
The place smelt beautiful and was spotless. Not just clean but Monica from Friends clean. Everything you needed was supplied. Fluffy towels, exceptionally comfortable beds, a kitchen full of every utensil you could need, brilliant heating that warmed up quickly, walking distance to Thirsk. It was just perfect. I felt like I was staying at my mums. So homely and welcoming. The 2 bathrooms were the icing on the cake for us.
The garden was huge and immaculate, with benches to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.
We're going to York in the next couple of months, but we will book to stay here.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Fabulous stay - The quirky style and comfortable surroundings, comfy beds, lovely garden, 2 bathrooms, and the cleanliness. Nothing.
- Caroline (9/5): Lovely welcoming house in a great location to explore Yorkshire - The house is in a great location and we enjoyed being so close to the centre of town. The parking was a real bonus. We were very comfortable and thought that the house was very well equipped. The wifi was very good and we enjoyed the welcome treats after a long journey. We enjoyed our stay overall, but a couple of things would have made it even better. Blackout blinds or curtains in the bedrooms would block out the light and prevent people waking at dawn. Some clear surfaces in the bedrooms and bathrooms would have made it easier to charge devices and spread out toiletries
- Eliza (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (10/5): Fantastic home and fantastic value. - Great location for visiting York as well as North Yorkshire Dales. Superbly presented home and very comfortable and clean. Huge garden too! Nothing!
- Julie (10/5): We had a great stay in Yorkshire made possible by having a well equipped, comfortable place to stay - Comfortable home from home Everything was perfect
- Maureen (10/5): Great few days in Thirsk - Everything was great. The decor was fabulous & everything was spotlessly clean. We had a really lovely time & the garden was beautiful Nothing
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful house, just a few minutes walk into the market square. Well equipped, comfy beds, and spotlessly clean with a huge garden. The little cakes were a nice touch too. A lovely stay.
- Cuthbert (8/5): Lovely house in a great location - The furniture and decor were quirky and eclectic. Everything was well laid out and comfortable. It was a good sized living space and the garden was lovely. The kitchen had everything you needed if you wanted to cook a meal. It was kept warm and cosy even though it was an older house. The beds were the best I've ever slept on! The stairs were really steep and there were no grab rails in the bathroom/shower. There was no gate or fence between the back garden and front of the house. We couldn't find the recycling bins.
- William (9/5): Very relaxing stay the chocolates, cakes and wine was a very nice touch and much appreciated. - Provision of kitchen tongs and a vegetable knife would have completed an otherwise excellent stay.
- Sean (10/5): Really nice place, quiet area and perfect for working away. We will stay again in the future. - Really nice place N/A
- Valerie (10/5): Beautiful home, with an amazing garden, everything was absolutely perfect and would definetly return. - The property was perfect, the furnishings, comfort was excellent and the home was immaculate. The owner has impeccable taste in regards to the decor and furnishings. The home is close to Thirsk market square and easy access to other towns and A19. Nothing everything was perfect
- Jill (10/5): Loved every minute. - The location was really good approximate walk into town centre was 5 minutes. The property was amazing all original features still there but everything you want from a modern property.
The welcome pack was extremely generous Prosseco chocolates and mince pies.
Everything in the property you needed. The garden was amazing but obviously at this time of year not the best use could be made of it. Nothing.
- Debra (10/5): Fantastic time at this beautiful house, everything you needed was available - This property was very clean and welcoming. Everything was available that you would need. We have just spent Christmas here and it was beautiful. The house was warm and very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped from a butter dish to a dishwasher. We were a family of 3 adults and loved the 2 bathrooms. Easy walk to the town centre. Owner Allison was very friendly and wanted to do anything she could to make sure we had everything we needed, just had to ask. Private parking for 2 cars is a bonus. We can’t wait to return ❤️ Didn’t like the fact that we only booked 5 days
- Sharon (6/5): Warm welcome, freezing house. - Good location, clean, comfortable beds, loved having 2 bathrooms and lots of nice little touches. Internal doors had been removed downstairs, which, along with old wooden front door and windows, meant it was freezing even with heating on. It was so cold at times we were sat in our coats. In the end we had to buy a small heater. It was either that or leave day early. Great for summer, would not stay in winter again.
- Amy (10/5): Lovely clean and comfortable house. Made our short stay in thirsk much nicer. Little buns and some sweets left for the c -
- Paige (10/5): Second time we have stayed here and we absolutely love it! - Personal touches - Prosecco and cakes were amazing! It was all amazing!
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (10/5): Beautiful two bedroom two bathroom with living room, dining room and garden. - Beautiful decoration and attention to detail. Nice welcome with flowers and drinks/ local snacks/ milk/ tea/ coffee available. Car charger available. Owners were lovely people and helpful. Back garden is large and scenic;) Ten minutes walk to center of Thirsk, but manageable for a good walker…
- Martin (10/5): Amazing!! - This place is just fantastic everything you need, Alison is a lovely host , a very pleasant lady. We’ll be back. Thank you Nothing
- Carole (10/5): Exceptional - Second time I have stayed here. Such a lovely home with a fab garden. Walkable to the town and not too far from other nice places. Lovely touches too, delicious cakes left for us to enjoy. Thankyou Alison! Happy and contented, home from home 😁!
- Gail (10/5): We had a fantastic time. Fabulous property, a real treasure. - Everything!! The house is beautifully decorated and furnished, comfortable beds and super bathrooms.
- Gareth (9/5): Fantastic property - Great house, good facilities
- Vicki (10/5): Splendid stay - The attention to detail was impeccable 👌.
The welcome ginger cat 🐈 was a bonus 😀.
- Michhiana (8/5): Very good - Quaint house, with beautiful garden, friendly and supportive host
- Suzy (10/5): Cute, comfortable, and close to town. - This rental was the cutest, and the host was extremely responsive. She left us easy-to-understand directions, and the keys were easily obtainable through the lockbox. She also left us a couple of muffins for the morning and a cute tea set up with chocolates and milk in the fridge for coffee or tea. The bed was incredibly comfortable; we had a great night's sleep. Thirsk was a short 7-minute walk to the town center with tons of second-hand shops, a grocery store, and restaurants. Don't forget to visit the cutest Yarn shop in the world called "Ewe and Yarn." A bonus is a huge adorable backyard to have tea in. It was a short drive to York which we also enjoyed visiting. We loved our stay, and we highly recommend this rental. We may not have looked hard enough but we couldn't find cooking items like olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I think this is a newer rental so I am sure eventually these cooking staples will be added.
- Karl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Perfect für family and friends; we really enjoyed it! - The great garden, Everything was very clean, two bathrooms
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb - Garden, Decor & proximity to the town centre & race course Nothing at all. It exceeded expectations

- Dawn (9/5): lovely home from home - Beautiful old property. Great garden. Chocolate and cakes a nice greeting. two bathrooms was expecting relatives to join unfortunately they couldn't make it. But had they done, parking for two cars. Bedrooms beautifully dressed. Easy access to Ripon and Helmsley. Enjoyed our stay. nothing
- Paige (10/5): A home from home. - The house was spotless and in a great location! I loved that it had parking. It felt like home and the garden is amazing! Thank you so much for letting us stay. A bonus that the host supplied teabags, sugar, cakes and chocolate! Nothing. It was great!
- Carolyn (10/5): Perfection - Absolutely everything.the owner attention to detail was perfect.beautiful house.thankyou. Every single aspect of thus house but particularly the vintage record player that we made use of at breakfast..our grand children loved it and it took us way back to those free days that once were...
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abigail (9/5): Beautiful, homely stay - Lovely home. Great facilities. Fully-stocked. For breakfast, we went to a local cafe nearby, which was lovely and only a 5 minute walk away. The home is on the doorstep of the village/town centre. Thank you for everything! I loved my stay. My friend stayed on the roadside bedroom and said she struggled to sleep with the noise of traffic and people walking by. So, bring ear plugs! Otherwise, a lovely place.
- Beverley (10/5): Exceptional - Just wow from start to finish. Beautiful house and decor with an amazing back garden. Good communication from the lovely owner Allison. Can't wait to stay again. Thankyou
- Susan (8/5): We had a great stay and loved the house. The owner couldn't be more helpful. - The house was clean and comfortable, and decorated with some great personal touches. The bathrooms were lovely. Allison, the owner had decorated the living rooms for Easter which was a lovely surprise. She had also left us milk, scones, jam, clotted cream, prosecco and beer, which was very generous and a really warm welcome. The garden is great too with plenty of seating areas. It was easy to walk into Thirsk for shopping and meals. The house is only single glazed and has beautiful 1930s stained glass windows, which double glazing would ruin. Also, there were no curtains so the noise in the front bedroom, from the traffic on the main road, was awful. The road was busy all night and our friends didn't get much sleep. Allison, the lovely owner, has told me she is looking at getting secondary glazing which will hopefully surpress the noise.
- Nicholas (10/5): We had a great stay everything was perfect - Location was very good and a short walk to town
- Kevin (10/5): Wonderful, thankyou - Beautifully presented house with lots of special touches to make it feel like a holiday.
- Emma (10/5): Like a Home from Home! - * Beautiful House and Furnishing
* Comfy Beds
* Great Location
* Fantastic Kitchen and Pantry
* Warm and Cosy
* 2 Fabulous Shower Rooms
* Easy Parking for 2 Cars
* Huge Garden * Nothing with the house!!
( we were aware it was on a busy main road, and the front bedroom would be a little noisy. It did not detract from our stay)
- Marion (10/5): A beautiful place to stay for a visit to Thirsk - We were delighted with our stay in Treblenick House. It is beautifully decorated, perfectly clean and comfortable. The garden too is wonderful.
Allison our host was welcoming and helpful.
We very much appreciated the clotted cream tea which awaited us, the fresh Spring flowers and Easter decorations.
- Kathleen (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay here. - A wonderful property, spotlessly clean, comfortable and in an excellent location Nothing to dislike, it was excellent.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (10/5): We were attending a wedding close by and this property just added to our fantastic weekend! - The house is exceptional in every way!, Located close to the town centre, beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches, fantastic outside area - with two double bedrooms and two shower rooms - ample room for two couples. I am not sure this property could be improved in any way
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
