Communication with the host was good. The kitchen was well equipped. In general, the apartment was well appointed. The wall from the hallway does not go all the way to the ceiling, which was odd.

He gave us free upgrade to a bigger apartment and offered to treat us to lunch when we asked where to eat. Beautiful spacy apartment, balcony with a sea view, very high ceilings. • Sally (7/5): Responsive management - The manager was great when we brought issues with kitchen cleanliness to his attention, and had the kitchen cleaned the next day as well as paid for our meal that first evening! We were pleased with his kind response. The location of the accommodations are excellent and we loved our time in Agrigento. It is a bit dated, in need of an update. However, this did not impact our enjoyment of exploring lovely Agrigento during the Almond Blossom Festival.

Man thanks for the hospitality!!! The parking was not quite easy, but having in mind that the property is located in the middle of the old town no one can expect to have parking in the building. Nevertheless, there is still a possibility to park in front of the building if the one is lucky to find a free place.

Cómodo y limpio incluso para una estancia larga. La ubicación es grandiosa: a metros de Via Atenea y a 10 minutos caminando desde bus o tren. Realmente disfrutamos y recomendamos Atena. Una mención especial a la atención de Max por su disposición a toda consulta y por la dedicación que muestra cada detalle del alojamiento (hasta costurero ofrece!). No tenemos nada que señalar. Es excelente.

From the hallway to the apartment, there was a wall that did not go all the way to the ceiling. When other guests entered the hallway, you could hear them and they could hear you. Otherwise there everything was fine.

Se descansa bien y no se sienten ruidos molesto.Esta muy cerca de la estacion de trenes y de los lugares de interes los chirridos de las puerta de acceso al hall principal. El resto todo bien, con un poco de lubricacion en las bisagras se soluciona.

Рядом очень красивая действующая базилика и утром (8.00) просыпаешься под звон колокола. Очень удобно идти на остановку автобуса (5 минут), который возит в долину храмов ( линия 1, 2, 3) и на море ( линия 2, 3). Чуть дальше - автобусная станция. Рядом железнодорожный вокзал. Мы были без машины. Но рядом с нашим домом почти на входе есть стоянка. В кухне есть необходимая посуда, плита, чайник, микроволновка. Квартира номер 2 состоит из отдельной кухни, гостиной и спальни. Очень высокие потолки во все квартире, поэтому есть ощущение, что много воздуха. Есть небольшой балкон в спальне. Нам было очень комфортно. Мы заселились в 2 часа ночи и было безконтактное заселение, что тоже является плюсом))) Рядом ( если пройти по улице, где стоит базилика) есть ресторан Matra с потрясающим вечерним видом на долину Храмов, базилику и вкусное едой. И очень рекомендую ресторан Gambrinus, который находится в центре ( очень вкусные аранчини днем и потрясающая пицца вечером). Я бы порекомендовала заменить сковороду на кухне , т.к. на ней есть царапины.
• Louis (1/5): We moved out within and stayed elsewhere. - The close proximity to the centre of town. The front wall of Apartment 1 is only a partition, so does not reach the ceiling, meaning that the bedroom door is the only security inside the building and you have to unlock this bedroom door to use the apartments facilities. Upon arrival I voiced my concerns about security to Max the host and he simply bragged about the apartments features advertised on Booking.com and its unbelievably high rating, which begs questioning, and offered us no explanation or alternative. Due to the security concerns we hurriedly and easily booked another apartment very close by at our own additional expense which was beautiful accommodation, managed by a wonderful host, at a similar price. At least 30 minutes before the checkout deadline Max sent me a message stating that he was aware that we had not used the apartment, confirming that he or a colleague had visited the apartment at least 30 minutes before the deadline for check out. See the attached photos for verification of this. More concerning is that, if he or a colleague had not physically visited the apartment before the checkout deadline, how did he know that we hadn’t stayed there when we hadn’t notified Max that we didn’t stay in the apartment? What an invasion of privacy by a rude and dismissive host.

We went by bus to the Valley of the Temples and it was very easy to do. While narrow streets are obviously expected in these towns, we could barely get our car through.

Every historic site is within walking distance. The apartment is spacious and has a small kitchen. Perfect for us to make scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast. Max, is always at your disposal to answer questions and even offered to drive us to the Valley of the Temples. All the details for your stay have been provided. I would definitely stay here again. • Melissah (10/5): Would definitely stay here again - We had an amazing stay ay Atena apartments and would definitely stay again. We loved the location which was right in the middle of the city. The bed & pillow was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in apart from our own. The late check in was super handy, as we booked at the last min, and best of all Max was an excellent host.

• Joseph (10/5): Excellent location in a comfortable environment - LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! Loved the easy access to the Main Street of Agrigento. I would say the area is safe even though some parts look a little shady. Check in was easy and the host communicated well with me and went above and beyond helping me manage some travel concerns! The size of the main bedroom (apt 1) was great! Grazie Mille! Honestly the only two things to note are the half wall for apt 1 in the “living space.” But you can close the door to the room and the kitchen/restroom area and still have privacy. Hot water ran out a bit quick for me but you also have to be mindful to conserve water in Sicily!

We could cook and wash our clothes. We could even dine al fresco on the small balcony. At first, the gas stove did not work but the host (Max) responded immediately and mentioned that there is a gas tank that could be empty and offered to arrange for someone to come by immediately with a new gas tank. I checked the tank and found that the nob had been turned off. Once turned on, we could cook and enjoy a nice meal.

The apartment had everything you might need including kitchen utensils, a washing machine and an outdoor drying rack.The owner was very attentive. We didn’t find the bed very comfortable and the water heater was noisy.

So cozy, with a super comfortable bed and linens, beautifully and thoughtfully furnished, with attention to small details. When we walked in, we felt welcomed, at home! And the small balcony gave us a view of the sea! Ahhhhh!! The location was fantastic, in charming ‘old town’ with great restaurants, bistros, and close to the train and bus stations. Easy access to the Valley of the Temples. Max was a great host, quickly answering questions and making recommendations. We would go back, and highly recommend Aetna Apartments! During our stay, we could not get good water pressure in the shower or hot water for the shower. This needs attention. Or guests need to know how to operate it properly. Also, the entry/dining area and bathroom were cold in February during our stay. Winter in Sicily! A heater in that area would be helpful.

And Max is an excellent and responsive host! The shower is very tight even for one person and dated (a little moldy). Also I would have liked some additional kitchen basics such as olive oil. parking js street parking and a pain down a small alley, but that is normal for so close to old town.

The apartment was centrally located. To be honest though the absolute stand out of our stay was the host Massimo. He surprised us at the train station picking us up so we didn’t have to navigate stairs with heavy luggage. He gave us great local suggestions and offered private transfer to our next destination. Cafes, bars and restaurants within a minutes walk. We were able to park our car for free just around the corner on the main road, which was great. Nothing. We only stayed a night so can't comment on shopping etc.

The location was perfect (just a block away from Via Atena which is the main street). Tons of restaurants close by and 2 mini-markets within a 5 minute walk (no supermarkets are located in the old part of Agrigento). Max was a fantastic host. There was a problem with the door (not at check in) and he was there to fix the problem within 10 minutes. He communicated to ensure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our stay. • Junda (10/5): A really good apartment in a very center position - It's a really pretty apartment with good location (5 mins to central station). It has a large double bed in the bedroom and a single bed seperately in the sitting room. It's suitable for trip with friends. And this apartment has a fridge, a kitchen and a washing mashine, perfectly meets the daily need. I recommend it! Nothing, everything perfect.

• Mária (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is very spacious and cosy. It is fully equipped with everything you need. The location is central, so you can explore the city easily. We had a great stay and definitely recommed Atena apartments.

• Jacek (10/5): Exceptional - Max is great host! He help me find a pariking spot, make a payment for the parking and explained how to navigate in the area. Agrigento is a strange town, so help from local host is really priceless. The appartement is very coviniently located: close to train station and historical area. The street outside looks not very nice, but I felt safe all the time. Appartament is big, hase a nice kitchen. Definitelly worth the price and worked for me very well.
• J. (9/5): Side street of the historic center / Very kind host - The apartment is located in a small side street of the historic city center, close to the train station. It comprises a well equipped separate kitchen including a kettle. The small balcony provides a tiny bit of sea view. Our host was very kind and even picked us up from the train station. Grazie!
• Tanya (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous apartment, we could sit out on little balcony and enjoy the sun. The location was absolutely amazing, right in old town but far enough away to be quiet. It had an electric kettle for tea making and coffee maker .Our host met us at station and took us in his car to the apartment. He also took us back to the station, so kind and saved us carrying our suitcases uphill. We were able to easily walk downhill to the Valley of the temples and get a bus back. Lots of super restaurants and bars nearby too. Agricento is just beautiful we hope to come back to Max's flat ,we should have stayed longer!There's so much more to see.
• Jane (10/5): Exceptional - This was a great apartment to stay in! It was close to transport links. It was right in the centre of the main street and many, many restaurants and bars are close by but, even so it was very quiet. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The host, Max was very responsive and checking in and out was very easy. We would definitely stay here again.
• Oxana (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable apartments in the very center of the old town. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nearby there are shops and restaurants for every taste. Parking right at the door. The ruins can be reached on foot. The keys were collected in a box, which was quick and convenient. Thanks to the host! A place you want to return to.
