Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): Comfortable Cottage, close to town. - Modern, clean decor. Log fire. Quiet location only 200m from town centre. Plenty of hot water, everything provided. Nothing
- Brian (10/5): Excellent great location -
- Lorraine (6/5): Other than the lack of iron and board the house was very comfortable. - The location very good. Close walk to the main street. It was very quiet. There was no iron or ironing board, which is a great disappointment when your travelling and living out of a suitcase.
- Stephen (8/5): Sparkling clean and new, and very peaceful. - Super clean and new inside, great views from kitchen Outside - garden and driveway - were a bit less promising but once inside it was really great.
- Hudson (9/5): Wonderful time in r - Location close to family. Space, comfy Beds.
- Tony (9/5): Nice comfortable accommodation, with everything we needed for our stay - Very clean and comfortable, short walk to town. Holly (Owner) was most helpful when I had to speak to her. Highly recommend N/A
- Kimberley (5/5): Not a cottage as we were expecting but a it is basic and would benefit from some care and attention - The position of the house close to town and the view over fields at the rear It is a house not a cottage, a 1980’s bungalow at a guess. It has had a very basic update.
- Mark (9/5): - Lovely spot, very comfortable and clean Only criticism would be needs extra Fly screens in living areas so you can get cross breeze. That is it.
- andrew vicary (10/5): - Quiet location, house was clean, fire had wood ready to go to dry our clothes. Great spot to spend a night on our bikes
- Nicola (8/5): - Great central Location
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb location, the house had everything we needed. Would happily come again. - Beautiful quiet street just a short walk from all the best spots in Richmond. Such a beautiful town, we didn't want to leave. House was very well appointed, though if you were staying longer then a few more kitchen items would be helpful.
- Howard (7/5): Clean ,lovely location only stayed one night mattress toppers meant we could not sleep - The location was lovely We found to mattress toppers really hot and uncomfortable
- Brett (7/5): -
- Rene (7/5): prima - Een leuk huisje met een prachtig zicht op de vallei De automatische grasmaaier stond defect in de tuin, dat was jammer.
- Diana (5/5): Location good. Inadequately equipped. - The location. There was a very small two seater ( not comfy) couch in the lounge and nothing else to sit on comfortably. With sleeping for five where are people supposed to sit?
The host didn’t have any plunger or anything to make our morning coffee. We asked if they could provide a cheap plunger but they refused.
There was no clothes dryer which is not good when it’s wet.
The front path and mat had not been swept or cleaned in sone time.
The house had the bare minimum of equipment eg only two teaspoons.
Overall we found the hospitality of the place was missing in accommodating our requests, tone of the messages and the inadequate setup in the lounge room.
- Bryan (9/5): Great! - Beautiful cottage only two blocks from everything! Beds were comfortable home was clean. Car parking space inside from yard.
Kitchen looking out over the hills and a wood fire as well. I couldn’t find an iron or clothes horse. That was my only issue.
- Brown (10/5): - Very comfortable home and close to everything, lots of room, very homey. Loved everything
- Joylyn (10/5): Enjoyed a fabulous two nights, very clean and cosy. - Very clean and cosy. Beautiful view from kitchen and dining area. Very quiet.

- David (10/5): Lovely cottage in a delightful village/town - Beautiful outlook and great location
for accessing the town and local area
It was very clean and comfortable It would have been better if there had been specific instructions on how to use the wood burner, but it was not a big problem
- Julie (8/5): Very enjoyable - The location, easy walk to town.
Comfortable & clean
- Felicia (8/5): - House is cosy, have all the required, there are cooking necessities too. House is near the famous Richmond bridge. As it is winter, the heater is cranky and one side of the bed heating device is not working.
- Marianne (10/5): Great place for short or longer stay. Cosy and comfortable - Such a pretty well appointed home. Cosy with a lovely view. Nothing
- Darina (10/5): -
- Alana (9/5): - Loved the location and the cosy wood heater. A perfect base for exploring southern Tasmania. Not a deal breaker, but a dryer would be very handy in winter.
- Jess (10/5): Exceptional - was a beautiful comfy home away from home, holly was straight on to helping us when the light blew and we didn't have a screw driver to take light shade off she came in and fixed it so mister little had a hall light at night thank u holly was lovely not that we didn't like just some suggestions as there was 4 of us a L shaped couch would go in there amazing also some shelves in the bedroom cupboards would have been good but no complaints its amazing
- Caryl (9/5): Very lovely home with all the amenities little hiccup at the start but communication with host was -
- Wendy (9/5): We would have loved to stay more than overnight at the cottage, maybe next time 🙂 - A very comfortable cottage, the wood fire was great. Highly recommend if staying in Richmond.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely home away from home for our Tassie adventure. The cottage was clean and cozy with electric heaters, electric blankets and of course the cozy fireplace ensuring we had a comfortable stay despite the chill of winter.
Perfect location to set up a home-base for our trip, a leisurely stroll to all the sights and shops of Richmond and easy distance to the other attractions we were interested in.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - It was quiet, walking distance to shops and attractions. Plenty of room and safe and secure. It was home away from home.

- Karen (8/5): Very short but great to have somewhere so spotlessly clean - Good location, very comfortable beds, great to have a bath! Would probably be a bit hot in summer - no fly screens if you want to open windows.
- Sue (10/5): Home away from home. - Quiet area, whole house. Sunny. It felt like a home, with the pot plants and books. Beautiful soap. I couldn’t find an iron or ironing board, but may have just missed it.
- Heather (7/5): Happy with the opportunity to stay in your property . Lovely , quiet & comfortable - Quiet , Private , Great Plants.
Overall very comfortable & offers everything . Blind in bedroom didnt cover window so open gap of 6-8” …(privacy & draught)
Windy night so had to prop chairs against both laundry doors to stop rattling from wind.
Have to wrap yourself around vanity in bathroom to properly see in mirror.
- Catherine (9/5): Superb -
- A. (9/5): Relaxing, great location and peaceful - Location excellent, quiet and walking distance from the town There were only two of us, but if more adults there needed to be more lounge seating
- Bennetts (10/5): Great comfortable house. - Location was close to town, very quiet & private as was in a battleaxe block. Very comfortable, had everything we needed.
- Denis (9/5): Great choice for our 3 day stay in Richmond - Great location - peaceful
- Chris (7/5): Good - A lovely comfortable place. The code for the door was sent by email at 5.50am so we didn't see it until we had WiFi inside the cottage. Fortunately Holly could give us the code by phone but sending the code by SMS would be better.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Cosy welcoming cottage.. we will definitely be back - Lovely location, clean well maintained Nothing
- John (9/5): Great spot to stay and explore or just stop over. - This cottage is well presented, quiet, and located centrally. This allows you to walk to all the attractions and restaurants in Richmond. Our host was easy to communicate with and responded promptly. Highly recommend this cottage as a base for exploring or one night stop over. Nothing comes to mind.
- Naomi (8/5): Very good - The location was great, cleanliness was great, there could have been a bit more furniture, there were only three lounge spots and we had a family of five. There was no outdoor furniture to sit outside that would have been nice.
Overall it was good but.

- Robert (8/5): Nice place to stay in aa quaint town - We loved the location and the house was what we needed for one night. It was easy to find and instructions to enter the house were easy to follow. The only drawback was no air conditioning, but there was a fan. It was warm when we arrived, but when night came it was cooler.
- Dianne (9/5): Enjoyable - Offers lots of privacy and close to the centre of Richmond No gauzes on the bedroom windows ….it was hot so plenty of flies and insects inside
- Stiles (5/5): Clean: cheap and cheerful - Clean tidy
Living plants Metal chairs and bedheads- uncomfortable and metal is unwelcoming.
Doesn't work for many.
More softness and inviting decor including more art work.
Needs more than one sofa for say four guests.
Please don't use fragrance wands as they are toxic and can trigger asthma attacks.
Wandering hens were a nice touch as was welcome fire.
So.
Ditch the metal and maintain the softer ambience!
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anita (9/5): Very comfortable cottage in excellent location - The house is within walking distance of shops, restaurants and attractions. It’s quiet and private with very comfortable beds and plenty of linen. The bedrooms are of a generous size. The living room has a single sofa but another chair plus 4 dining chairs can easily be moved around. The separate shower at the end of the bath is excellent, as are the provided soaps/shampoo/conditioner. No insect screens.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional cottage - Cottage was very clean, a fully equipped house and completely self contained. Tea, coffee and sugar were of wonderful quality, there was laundry powder supplied, along with high quality bathroom products. The bedding is soo comfortable and high quality linen and towels with extra linen supplied if needed. The feel and comfort is beautiful, our family felt at home straight away. Although it was summer and they'd had a very dry season it would be beautiful to have the gardens well kept. Holly had a gardener come and mow the lawns, he was not intrusive at all. My daughter and I loved sitting out side and watching the blue wrens, and other birds.
- Louise (10/5): Clean, cosy, comfortable little cottage with beautiful garden - Holly has gone to a great deal of trouble to make her home clean, welcoming and comfortable for guests. The house is spotlessly clean, bed linen is soft and comfortable, and basic cooking requirements are provided. We especially liked the clean water filter, and it was a lovely treat to have a bath as well as a shower. The garden is beautiful and well-tended, and Holly offered us lemons and apricots. We'd definitely stay here again. A friendly suggestion rather than a complaint. Because there is no air conditioning (not really necessary in Tassie) it would be nice to be able open windows when it gets warm, especially at night. Fly screens on windows are a cost-effective way of allowing guests to open windows to get a breeze and not have to fight off insects.
- Helen (2/5): Very poor - Bedrooms were clean and comfortable however sheets were too small for beds and came adrift easily. I liked the lounge area but seating was sparse at best and the neutral colour scheme was disappointing - only artwork was in toilet! Unfortunately, I have chemical allergies and when I was seated on couch (comfortable) chemical vapours became stronger and stronger so I moved to the recycled table - that also exuded strong chemical odors so I placed the faux sheepskin chair halfway between both of previous items of furniture so at least I cld sit down. Unfortunately, that had also been chemically treated and I had to retreat to the bedroom. The 2nd day after arrival I tried to stay out of the cottage for the majority of the day and retreat to the bedroom when I returned. Frankly I was pleased to leave as I was very ill by then with severe breathing difficulties - a toss-up, home or hospital! Am still ill from the experience. Sorry
- Anonymous (10/5): Most enjoyable - excellent location and excellent accommodation Nothing
- Richard (10/5): Lovely home, quiet area , comfy bed, great views..warm log fire..great stay. - nothing
- Malcolm (10/5): Great cosy place to stay! - Holly was fantastic to deal with, lovely property, warm fire, comfy beds.
- Stacey (10/5): Absolutely perfect & we really enjoyed our stay! Would love to stay again in the future. - such a beautiful tidy simple set little cottage that was very comfortable for my family & I. walking distance to the shops which was also perfect.

- Geraldine (9/5): Superb -
- June (10/5): Fantastic - would definitely stay again :) - Beautiful little cottage with a log fire, walking distance to shops. Very comfortable bed. Immaculate. Loved it and would recommend to anyone planning a stay in Richmond. Perfect as it is.
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional - great location, perfect little place, fantastic hostess.
- Mary (7/5): Stop plaguing me with questionaires - Contrary to the advice in Booking's email, breakfast was NOT available, Holly seemed to have been unaware of the request.
Fortunately, we had our picnic basket.
Going "out" for breakfast is definitely not my thing. I am too old for that. Communication; see above
- Vanessa (8/5): Richmond cottage - Walking distance to pub, great fire, warm inside, clean, neat & tidy. Thoughtful kitchen items (not that we needed it, but lovely to see). Great layout. Only one double lounge & one pouffe. Not enough seating for 2 couples around fire.
