• Amie (3/5): Barely a two star - The location was convenient It was noisy from the construction in the area, the room is small. The window is deceiving, view of a vent covered with fake grass. The air conditioner leaked, dropped all night. On the last day, i found lots of small ants in the bathroom. The staff said they were full and could not offer a different room.

• Ana (9/5): Très bon rapport qualité prix pour visiter Istanbul :-) - Très bon emplacement. Proche du quartier Sultanahmet. Quartier très animé mais hôtel dans une rue calme, donc c'est parfait. Le wifi marchait très bien. Le personnel très accueillant. Petit déjeuner correct. Literie confortable. Il y a des travaux à côté et l'isolation n'est pas très bonne, on entendait tout dès le matin tôt (même dimanche).

• Inna (9/5): - A very small but comfortable hotel. Convenient location. The room met my expectations, it was clean and tidy. Daily towel replacement and cleaning. The beds are comfortable, and the bed linen is clean. The staff was very friendly. There is an elevator, which is convenient. The breakfast was not very varied; I would have liked more options. You can hear the neighbors in the other rooms.
• Giulio (7/5): Decent value for money in a great location. - The room was quite small and a bit dark, though that wasn’t a major issue for me personally. The location was excellent — close to the tram station, shops, and plenty of restaurants. The AC worked well and kept the room cool as expected. Breakfast was included in my rate, although the serving window was fairly short and a bit too early for my schedule. The staff were very kind and always willing to help. A couple of things to keep in mind: the WC had no ventilation fan or direct airflow, and the room window did not open directly to the outside, so fresh air circulation was limited. Also, if you plan to pay by card, it’s best to bring the physical card, as tap-to-pay services like Apple Pay, Google Wallet, or Samsung Wallet may not always work everywhere in Turkey. Hotels in this area and price range tend to be fairly average despite looking more upscale in photos. That doesn’t make them bad, just a little different from expectations. As is common in many hotels around Istanbul, there were occasional daytime noises from construction or building systems, though nights were generally quiet.

Прокинулася серед ночі від їдкого запаху у номері, наче у ньому курять, звідки проник той сморід так і не зрозуміла. Після дзвінка на ресепшин прийшли дуже швидко. Інші ночі було не відчутно.

• Dorina (5/5): Mediocre - La struttura è molto centrale, vicino al grand bazar e per il prezzo pagato (110€ per 3 notti) non avevamo grosse pretese. La colazione è molto scarsa e di bassa qualità ma non è stato un problema perché dopo la prima mattina siamo usciti e abbiamo trovato tante opzioni in giro. I cuscini erano molto duri e il bagno non aveva un sistema di ventilazione. Tuttavia ciò che ci mi ha fatto dare un voto basso è il fatto che abbiamo preso una stanza “con vista cortile interno” ma ci e stata data una stanza senza finestre o meglio con una finestra che si apriva su un muro decorato con foglie di plastica!

• Roman (8/5): The hotel fully met our expectations — highly recommended! - The hotel’s location is excellent — it is within walking distance of Istanbul’s main attractions, including Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque (just one tram stop away or about a 10-minute leisurely walk). During the day, it is easy to reach the hotel from the airport by metro and the T1 tram line (Çemberlıtaş stop). This option is much cheaper than taking a taxi, and the travel time is similar or even shorter, especially during traffic. It is very convenient to return to the room during the day to recharge your phone, freshen up, and rest a bit. There is also a grocery store nearby where you can buy water and other essentials for your room. For our return trip, the staff helped us arrange a taxi to the airport, which seemed even cheaper than Uber. Considering the room price, the value for money fully met our expectations. Thanks to the hotel staff and Booking.com for providing us with this hotel! Our room had only a few minor cosmetic issues. The USB ports in the electrical outlets were not working (likely due to frequent and careless use by previous guests). However, this did not affect our stay, as we always travel with our own chargers. The overhead shower in the bathroom also seemed to be slightly loose. Another detail surprised us. The windows appeared to be double-glazed, but contrary to our expectations, they did not fully block out street noise, which could occasionally be heard during the day. That said, the hotel’s location helped minimize this issue. There is almost no traffic on the street, and it is not a tourist hotspot, so it had no impact on our sleep. It is also worth mentioning the street where the hotel is located. It was clear that the staff of our hotel and some neighboring hotels made an effort to keep things clean. However, judging by the overall street condition, not everything is under their control. The presence of some litter might be unpleasant for certain guests. This reminded us of the well-known phrase: “Istanbul is a city of contrasts.” But in the end, who is without flaws? Even our own city, Chisinau, is sometimes included in subjective rankings of “less attractive” or "ugly" cities, although, in our opinion, such assessments are not always objective.
• Emma (6/5): Nice budget hotel - The staff were the friendliest hotel staff I’ve ever met, they really went above and beyond. The hotel is a ten minute walk from Sultanahmet and major attractions and just a two minute walk from the tram line with a supermarket at the end of the street. The room was clean and comfortable. The window opens out into a wall, so there was no fresh air. The walls are really thin and I could hear people in rooms next to me. There was also a weird scratching coming from the top corner of the room as if there was something trapped in the wall and running around, it woke me up a few times. I had problems with my door and the key card would often break.

Kezdjük ott az áram az ajtónyitó kártyával van a szobában ha elmész, vagy csak le mész cigizni nem lessz áram a szobába sem fűtés. A klímát minimum fél óráig kell nyomkodni mire el kezd fűteni minden alkalommal. A Tv úgyan ez a jelenség. Az állmenyezetben valami mászkált. Fel vettük videóra és jeleztük ígérték hogy másnak reggel a menedzser meg keres de nem történt meg . Semmien kárpotlást nem ajánlodtak fel. A fürdő nagyon hideg hiába megy a légkondicionált melegítés.

L'emplacement était remarquable, car étant situé près du tramway, du Grand Bazar, de la basilique Sainte-Sophie et de la mosquée bleue. Egalement, à proximité de nombreux restaurants avec une excellente nourriture. On a aussi apprécié le service de transfert gratuit offert pour être acheminé de l'aéroport SAW à l'hôtel. Notre chambre donnait sur la rue qui était animée donc un peu bruyante. Une isolation moyenne et une climatisation extérieure qui faisait du bruit. Mais étant donné l'état de notre fatigue le soir, nous dormions comme des bébés.

Завтрак нормальный, йогурты, хлопья, яйца, свежие овощи, колбаса, сыр, сосиски, наггетсы, выпечка, чай, кофе, молоко, соки. Ванная комната требует ремонта. Разбитый умывальник, не работающий фен с замотанным изолентой шнуром. Очень сильная слышимость соседей и, что странно, улицы.

Colazione variegata (mancano opzioni dolci e frutta, ma abbiamo capito che è usanza qui). Il receptionist della sera (purtroppo non so il suo nome) è stato premuroso, attento ed efficiente, tanto che la mattina alle 4 mentre aspettavamo il driver per un tour si è messo sulla porta per vedere se arrivasse per evitare che noi prendessimo freddo. I couldn't sleep because of the smell. In the morning smell became frying smell from kitchen. Intolerable. Luckily I spent one night. Room shouldn't have been made bookable. Worst experience ever.

Das Zimmer war gross und geräumig, das Design entsprach den Bildern (top)! Das Personal war auch nett und freundlich 😊 Die Sauberkeit im Zimmer vor allem im Badezimmer war nicht gut. Leider haben wir unmengen an fremden Haaren gefunden (Badezimmer) auf dem Bett war 1-2. Wir haben es dann selber mit Feuchtigkeitstüchern weggewischt..

(6/5): Gute Lage, nettes Personal, aber auch Mängel... - Freundlicher Empfang und Umgang; zuverlässig funktionierendes WLAN; kostenfreies Wasser und ein Kaffee-Set im Zimmer; Kühlschrank ist ebenfalls vorhanden; sehr gute Lage und nur einige Gehminuten von der Metro-Haltestelle Vezneciler (M2) entfernt (falls man diese nutzt, um vom Flughafen in die Stadt zu fahren); Kaffees, Bistros und Restaurants sowie ein Supermarkt sind fußläufig erreichbar; bequemes Bett und prima Kopfkissen; vernünftiges Frühstück mit ordentlicher Auswahl, aber nicht ansatzweise vergleichbar mit der Angebot auf den Bilden (Milch und Saft aus Tetra Paks sowie die dauerarbeitende Filterkaffeemaschine erinnern zudem eher an das Frühstück in den eigenen vier Wänden und sorgen nicht für Hotel-Flair; frischer Orangensaft kostet lautet Hinweis an der Wand 3 € extra); großzügig geschnittene Duschkabine als willkommene Abwechslung zu denen in so manchen Hotels; Klimaanlage ist vorhanden, arbeitet allerdings ziemlich laut Haus und Zimmer sind extrem hellhörig und auch teilweise abgenutzt sowie nur eingeschränkt gemütlich; Einrichtung an vielen Stellen abgewetzt, geflickt oder wackelig; Wände und Türen des Fahrstuhls dürften mal gereinigt und das zerrissene Info-Blatt erneuert werden; fleckige Zierkissen und Bettlaken, zudem Haare im Bett; hinter dem Fenster befindet sich eine Art Lüftungsschacht, d.h. man hat nicht mal einen Blick auf den Innenhof, sondern quasi gar kein Fenster, das man nutzen kann; direkt über dem Fenster bzw. dem Schacht tummeln sich offensichtlich Tauben, die gerade morgens für reichlich Lärm sorgen; kaum Ablageflächen im Bad; keine Sitzgelegenheit im Zimmer (außer dem Bett); keinerlei Obst beim Frühstück; Zimmer weitestgehend sauber, Bad allerdings sorglos und oberflächlich gereinigt (schmutziges WC, staubige Lüftung, verkalkter Duschkopf); morgens wabern Küchengerüche durchs Zimmer, abends dann der Gestank von Zigaretten; die Straße, in der sich das Hotel befindet, verdreckt im Laufe des Tages sehr und ist dann vor allem abends ungemütlich; Bilder im Angebot sind schon recht deutlich optimiert, um Lobby und Zimmer einladender aussehen zu lassen

• Z MAHMOOD (9/5): - Very close to main attractions in Sultanahmet area. The T1 tram station is just at couple of minutes walk so easy commute to other areas of Istanbul. Breakfast was really good. Reception staff very helpful. Not fault of the hotel but some construction work is going on nearby so somewhat noisy during the day tine.
• Dora (10/5): Preporučam! - Soba je odlična, ima sve što nam je trebalo. Osoblje izuzetno ljubazno. Doručak je bio primjeren. Jedina “zamjerka” je loša izolacija, sve se čuje, ali mi smo bile prilično umorne pa nam nije smetalo.

• Iuliana (8/5): Very good value for money. Location and staff is great - Very good location and very nice staff. All of them spoke English and were very keen to help us with anything. The rooms were cozy, clean and very warm (we even had AC in the room). We had some issues with the electricity in our room but it’s an old building so it’s expected. However, nothing too bad.

• Maria (10/5): - I had a pleasant stay at Hotel California Istanbul. The location is very convenient, with public transportation nearby and many attractions within walking distance. There is also a hammam close to the hotel. The staff was friendly and some of them speak Russian, which was very helpful for me. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. Overall, a good place to stay when visiting Istanbul. Мне понравилось пребывание в Hotel California Istanbul. Очень удобное расположение — рядом есть общественный транспорт и многие достопримечательности. Недалеко от отеля также есть хаммам. Персонал дружелюбный, некоторые сотрудники говорят по-русски, что было очень удобно. Номер был чистый и комфортный, а завтрак был очень вкусный. В целом хорошее место для проживания в Стамбуле.
• JAROSLAW (1/5): Do not book - Nothing ! The breakfast was a complete disappointment. There was practically nothing available — literally nothing. Not even something basic like a boiled egg. The only options were some greens, very cheap ham, and very low-quality bread. There was nothing else. Nothing at all. Additionally, the noise from the corridor is extremely noticeable. You can clearly hear people talking and walking outside the room, which makes it difficult to sleep.
• Tiziana (8/5): Hotel consigliato! - Posizione eccezionale in zona ci sono ottimi ristoranti e a piedi si arriva nei punti turistici principali. Personale sempre gentile e disponibile. Struttura davvero carina. La camera singola che ci è stata assegnata ha una finestra cieca quindi fa veramente molto caldo. Gli asciugamani venivano cambiati giornalmente ma in 4 giorni il pavimento non è mai stato pulito. La colazione è buona ma consiglio di aggiungere qualcosina di dolce.
• peter (8/5): Great value for money. Shops, restaurants and public transport nearby. - Very reasonable prices, comfortable bed and good location. Bedroom a bit small.
• Célia (7/5): Bien - Bon emplacement, proche des commodités, des principaux lieux touristiques. Idéal quand on souhaite découvrir la vielle ville. Durant notre séjour, des travaux ont eu lieu entraînant beaucoup de bruit dans la chambre et révélant que l’isolation n’était pas forcément bien. Dommage quand on réserve un hôtel pour se reposer lors de nos vacances.
