Guest Reviews
- Aleksandr (6/5): -
- PING (9/5): - so wet
- Bry (9/5): - Helpful staff
- Greetje (7/5): - Het domein was prachtig.
- Marcel (10/5): A beautiful nature lodge with excellent food and a unique atmosphere – highly recommended! - A truly unique and beautiful place surrounded by nature. The setting is absolutely stunning and very peaceful. The lodge blends perfectly into the environment, which makes the whole experience very special. The restaurant was excellent – the food was delicious and of very high quality. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable throughout our stay. Nothing significant – everything was very enjoyable.
- Matthew (10/5): Beautiful place, lovely staff. -
- Nicki (3/5): Traumatizing - Table de longoza was great, good food, wonderful staff. The actual location of the lodge is great, close to 3 nature reserves so no need for transfers you can walk. The lodge is beautiful and accomodation is comfortable. First of all we arranged a transfer with the lodge that never arrived. The restaurant inside never had the pizza and bbq available that they so widely advertised. Also TRIGGER WARNING - our very first morning for breakfast I heard a cat crying and crying and crying eventually i went and had a look in the kitchen next to the pizza oven a tiny kitten tide up by its neck. Sitting in its own poop. It was crying and couldn't move much. I begged them to make the rope longer so it can move. I asked them why is it tide up, the lady said they dont want it to get lost around the property. She said eventually they will release it. I was heart broken. I avoided the restaurant at all costs i could not bear the crying. Day 4 i decided to try give the cat some attention and on our way there my partner fell through the floor board of the restaurant. Injuring his leg real bad. In the afternoon i again went to the reception to beg them to let the cat go, the owner of the cat and manager (i think) of the restaurant was very rude and obnoxious when i asked him to let the cat go. He basically told me to leave it. I left in tears. For me this was the worst thing that could happen on a holiday. Listening to a kitten crying all day and not to mention how unsanitary it was that it was where they prepare food in between cat poo. I wish i never went here. If it wasnt for table de longoza i would have starved to death.

- Darren (10/5): Amazing Stay here - Amazing stay in the rainforest minutes away from the national park. The staff was very nice and helpful for us through our entire trip. 2 restaurants on property, hot shower, and. beautiful scenary. I definitely recommend staying here.

Keine Kritikpunkte
- werner (3/5): Don’t go there - Good location in between the natural heritages. They built the houses in this way that outside and inside you have wood - in between there is space and mouse and rats run there during the whole night. So 30 cm behind your head, you hear them running and eating and everything.
- Xliu2007 (8/5): Enjoy the moment with nature - Close enough to national parks Water is not clean enough
- Marie-Claire (6/5): -
- Vishner (8/5): -
- Evelien (8/5): - Leuke bungalow op palen. Lemuren om je heen. Bed was erg hard.
- Alois (9/5): -
- Afzal (10/5): - Incredible location right in the middle of a rainforest with lush green foliage and palm trees everywhere. Highlight recommend this hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Context
We booked well in advance via Booking.com. Choosing a room was already difficult because the photos are not very representative; it’s hard to know what you will actually get.
What happened
Check-in & reservation issue: Upon arrival, the receptionist couldn’t find our booking or my name. Only after speaking to our driver in the local language and us showing the confirmed reservation in the Booking app were we finally checked in.
Placed, then “downgraded”: We were given a nice tent, unpacked, used the facilities, and lay down to rest after a long travel day. Some time later, the receptionist returned to say we had been put in the “wrong” unit and insisted we move to a different, clearly inferior one (a downgrade).
Refusal to offer solutions: We asked for reasonable alternatives—leave us in the tent and place the other guests in a similar unit, or move us to an equivalent category. Every suggestion was refused.
Manager unavailable—then suddenly “gone”: We asked to speak with a manager. First we were told we could; 10–15 minutes later we were told the manager had “left,” even though we could see her at the desk. The manager simply refused to talk to us, and the receptionist just lied to us.
“Fully booked” claim contradicted by Booking: We were repeatedly told there were no other rooms available. We checked Booking in real time and saw several options, including possible upgrades. So once again, we were lied to.
After-dark pressure & hygiene concern: It was already dark (travel here after dark is not advisable), so we were effectively stuck and couldn’t relocate to another hotel, even though there are many nearby. We were told other guests were “already waiting” for our tent. If that was true, the tent required a full clean before re-use, as we had already used the bed and bathroom and walked on the floor in our shoes after the jungle.
- Carina (9/5): -
- Martin (9/5): -
- Sonia (10/5): -
- Marta (10/5): - Excellent location within walking distance to VOIMMA Reserve, Mitsinjo Reserve and the National Park Office. Immersed in nature and not too built up
- Sjoerd (8/5): Great place in nature - Beautiful rooms, great location next to the national park, nice breakfast The rooms are noisy, you hear the traffic next to the lodge and the neighbours
- Sato (9/5): -
- Supriya (8/5): Lovely stay if you see brown lemurs up close and personal! - The best part was waking up in our room right next to the restaurant — the receptionist had told us that around 8–8:30 am, brown lemurs pass by. I got to experience it firsthand, literally in the middle of it all, and even fed them so many bananas! The room was cute, with a great bathroom setup and reliable hot water.
The restaurant food, however, was just okay. We were running late, and the manager kindly arranged dinner for us, but the meat was very tough. Breakfast was also quite limited Food was ok, definitely needs to improve
- Soren (8/5): -
- Libor (6/5): - Incredible location. Lemurs coming to the place every day.
Very clean. No heating! The stuff provided heating pad, which helped, but still in bungalow, was 13 to 15 degrees the whole day in August 😞.
No hairdryer. Only just to borrow for an evening.
- Hai (9/5): Comfortable nice great location - Near Alanamazaotra N P, Mitsinzo private reserve and VOIMMA reserve. Reception staffs are courteous and accommodate your needs especially Alberto During winter it can be cold in the room. My room D1 has no hot water in the wash basin but shower is great
- Daniele (10/5): -
- Laurie (9/5): - The place was clean and the staff were very kind. We stayed in a tent, which got quite cold at night, but the hot showers and heating pads were excellent. The on-site restaurant is open-air with no rain cover, and you need to be very specific when ordering. Brown lemurs visited the property, which was a real treat! The Wi-Fi was surprisingly good, and it’s an easy walk to Voimma Park and another nearby restaurant.
- Emily (10/5): - Fabulous property. We stayed in the larger, 2-story eco-lodge, which comfortably fit us three friends. The lodge was beautiful and had such a cozy vibe. While it was chilly in mid-winter, the heating pads on the beds made it incredibly comfortable (honestly almost too comfortable, as I didn't want to get out of bed - those fluffy comforters!)
There is a group of brown lemurs that pass through each morning, happily grunting away as they munch on leaves.
There was even a kettle in the room!
The staff we interacted with were all very friendly and helpful. The only minor gripe was that the motion light upstairs was a bit wonky. But that was a minor issue. Everything else was great!
- Clare (7/5): Nice, but it could be great. - Our deluxe tent was lovely. Well laid out, with a great shower, we were thankful for the electric blanket as it was cold at night. We loved having the Bamboo Lemurs visit in the afternoons The bed was very firm, and after three nights, my back was hurting. A mattress topper would probably sort this. The breakfast was very hit and miss and expensive for what we got.
- Iwona (8/5): -
- Chloe (8/5): Great eco-lodge, room for improvement in the restaurants. - Lovely setting, great location right next to VIOMA. Rooms are modern, well designed, comfortable, with an excellent shower (hot with good water pressure). It was cold when we were there and extra duvets were provided. The kids enjoyed the treetop viewing deck, lemurs on site, tortoises and being able to play in the gardens. The staff were friendly and smiling. The restaurants were somewhat chaotic. One day we had breakfast at the indoor restaurant by the road - it took nearly 45 minutes for stale baguettes and doughy croissants to arrive.
The outdoor barbecue restaurant in the middle of the grounds had a limited menu, with many items not available. Orders sometimes took a very long time, portion sizes rather erratic (some huge, some small). It seems the kitchen facilities are limited to a 3 or 4 ring hob and sink behind the bar. It seems strange an ecolodge of this size doesn’t have kitchen facilities to reflect the number of guests it accommodates.
The staff were all trying their best, eager to please and frequently apologising when things didn’t go as smoothly as they could have.
- Angela M. (9/5): - Lovely and peaceful lodge, surrounded by nature. Good food options. I didn't receive answers on time about payment methods. The exchange rate (€ USD) is really bad for the visitor. They should improve their communication through the Booking system.
- Annalisa (8/5): -
- Katherine (9/5): Great location and atmosphere - Lovely treehouse room, fantastic location for the park, and best water pressure we had in Madagascar! Shame we didn't have longer here!
- Marinus (6/5): - De locatie De badkamer
- Guest (10/5): One of the best places we’ve stayed at. Absolutely stunning nature, bungalows that very naturally complement the environ - Everything was just perfect- the location, accommodation, staff, restaurant, facilities It was a little cold in the bungalow at night but we were immediately given an extra blanket as we asked
- Thomas (8/5): - Sehr coole Anlage direkt am NP. Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Restaurant war kalt und ungemütlich. Kellner auch etwas unbeholfen.
- Roel (10/5): -
- Lorenzo (9/5): Amazing higher-end option in Andasibe - Amazing place immersed in the rainforest. Beautiful, calm. Rooms are outstanding quality and very clean. Shower is very good. Food is quite expensive, but otherwise really good.
- Joshua (10/5): Fantastic facilities, reasonable price, awesome location, easy communication. What's not to like? - Very clean and accommodating accommodation. Situated in reach of the national parks. Rooms were good quality and the setting was beautiful. Staff and reception very friendly with local restaurants very close. Communication with the lodge in advance was fast and easy, with the staff very helpful. An excellent choice for Andasibe. We would encourage the owners to keep the cat away from residents at dinner time as it did bother us slightly. Also it was easy to be lock yourself out of your room, so a backup system would be great!
- Emma (2/5): - We stayed in a tree house and it good. For me, the accommodation. Is not environmentally conscious. Lots of plastic used either decorative or stuff which are not really necessary. Example the mirror heater is not for me necessary. Have visited couple of eco accommodation and by far this is the only one I have issues with. The restaurant is expensive. For two servings of rice, egg and coffee , they charged as 60,000 Ariary (see photo) the most expensive food we have eaten in Madagaskar .
- Raquel (9/5): Good value for the money. - The people were kind, they spoke English, it was really clean and well equipped. Bathrooms inside were nice, first time with warm water. When we went (end of June) it was really freaking cold and they had good blankets and warmers on the outside tables. Lemurs get to the premises and it was honestly the best we’ve had so far We did spend the two nights here unwell of the tummy.
Mooie huisjes. De maki's zijn geweldig! Het eten was er lekker. Mooie badkamer.
- Carla (8/5): Within walking distance to x2 parks - Spacious hut and bathroom, was nice to have a kettle too. We ate one dinner at the indoor restaurant and it was excellent/well priced. Lucien on reception was so friendly and our local guide Chris really went above and beyond to make our days in the park memorable. Highly recommend doing the canoe at the community park close by. Please note the power goes out for a few hours late afternoon each day. We stayed for 4 nights and the room wasn’t serviced - not expecting a change of sheets but clean bin and toilet paper would be appreciated.
- Laurent (8/5): -

- Boklaui (9/5): Great rainforest stay with all modern comforts - Great help on all requests: even these not asked - service was above and beyond and rooms at the forest edge had a great atmosphere Diner took a bit of time to arrive (but was excellent)

- Diana (9/5): Prachtige plek.

- Gail (5/5): Explore other options. - Longoza is in a pleasant setting and the staff were helpful and friendly. To access the cabin we had to go up a flight of stairs with no handrail and we felt very unsafe. It was enough to stop us going out an extra time for breakfast.
Many of the paths were very uneven.
We had dinner at the restaurant as we had no other option and it was outdoors and very cold. They did put on a heater that gave minimal relief and a blanket. The meal was very basic and poor standard.
The room had no heating and only a doona with no extra blankets. There was no phone and we couldn't manage the steps in the dark and the office would have been closed. We were cold all night.
There was mould in the shower.
Facilities in the room were basic at best.
- Ana (10/5): - Amazing location. Brown lemurs were visiting the site often. The bungalows are lovely and comfortable. It is quite humid even with a dehumidifier in the room and there were some insects about (don't leave food lying around!) but it's to be expected given you're in the middle of the forest. We would happily stay here again.
