• Mark (8/5): Pricey for room size and location. - Wonderful view of the Matterhorn from our balcony. A little obstructed by a construction crane though. Was aware the location was high on hilltop. No shuttle from train station when we arrived. The room was very small for the cost. Breakfast was the same items each day. Could have variety on some days

• Puja Dhingra (8/5): - Nice stay. Good complimentary breakfast. Clean room with clean sheets. Their van came to fetch us from the station and back too. It’s a little uphill to walk but the whole of Zermatt is like that.

• Erzhen (10/5): Overall great place, a little hard to get to without taxi, but the hotel itself is great and breakfast was wonderful. Wi - The breakfast was great. Wish the room would be refreshed a bit as beds are 2 twins combined into a queen. And the gap was a bit uncomfortable.
• Juerg (7/5): Top Lage eines „in die Jahre gekommenen“ in der Höhe gelegene Hotel - Die Lage, mit Blick zum Matterhorn; Sehr schön, wenn auch „sehr anstrengend“ vom Bhf zum Hotel (Es gibt aber auch das Hotel-Taxi). Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und absolut toll, für die Hotelkategorie. Das Haus ist „in die Jahre gekommen“ - und schade, wird keine „ordentliche warme Küche“ angeobten (z.B. Abendessen).

• Antonios (7/5): - Liked room layout with view to Matterhorn. Personnel were all lovely doing their duties perfectly. It lacks any real atmosphere to meet fellow travellers and share experiences. Several basic items are missing, most important a small fridge to put sundry items, fruits etc. Breakfast is sub-par nothing freshly prepared no omelettes. Very far from village centre. Finally prices are simply daylight robbery in all establishments a simple burger is 37€ , same item in an ordinary place costs less than 8€.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome—they were always ready to help with anything we needed. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, making it easy to fully relax and enjoy our time. And the highlight was undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the Matterhorn—absolutely spectacular. A fantastic experience overall, and we would gladly return!

• Conor (10/5): Excellent, I would definitely stay here again - Excellent hotel that exceeded my expectations, Miguel and his staff really looked after us during our stay. The location of the hotel is great due to the ease of races the the ski lift using the nearby lift. The hotel facilities were great, really enjoyed using the spa and pool and the breakfast was excellent. We stayed in the room on the top floor with a room of the Matterhorn and I think you would struggle to find a better view in all of Zermatt. I can’t really think of anything that I would have changed about the Alpenroyal.

• Crystal (10/5): The staff are amazing, everyone was nice and remembered who you were. They really made the stay remarkable - The spa and breakfast, they were both excellent and more than I expected The rooms were very cramped, each of us had to move to let the other walk by anywhere in the room and the tub didn’t have a standup shower. The shower was there only attached to low for standing. I think this a standard here though.

The worse bathroom with poor shower facilities. Shower had intermittent pressure and it was a shower curtain over an old bath. Time for renovation.

• Kristen (10/5): Lovely - The views are amazing, the staff was very nice and I honestly had the best time. The room we had was pretty small but I was barely in it, I was out enjoying Wengen! When I was there I was cozy and comfortable.
• Inderjeet (5/5): Basic 3 star - Free E taxi ride from train station to hotel . Shortcut lift access from hotel to the Main Street. Barman and driver were friendly. Hotel was very basic 3 star and very dated. Room was cramped. Matterhorn Mountain View room was blocked by construction Crain. Reception staff was ok and you have to pay for each extra bits like coffee/tea as there is no refill after the first day. The welcome drink is water in the room, don’t expect anything fancy. Breakfast was basic bread and eggs

• Nancy (9/5): Great place and good value, would definitely stay again - View was wonderful, even though there is currently a crane nearby that blocks a portion. Shortcut tunnel is delightful, one of my favorite things about the experience. Little hotel bus the drove us to train station was wonderful. Balcony was wonderful, so pleasant and peaceful out there. Pillows could have been better. Be sure to use a taxi or hotel bus to get there with your luggage. It isn't a walk you want to do with luggage, but once you check in and get shortcut tunnel access card, all is good.

• Robertson (10/5): Excellent stay and would recommend. - The views from our balcony room of the Matterhorn were amazing. Our room was clean and room service was provided daily with cleans towels each day. There was nothing at all to complain about. The breakfast was very good, simple but very good. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Although we didn’t know it, they do provide transportation upon request to and from train station. There is also a private elevator to go up and down the mountain to get to hotel, a key card is provided after you check in. We never used the pool or saw it. There is nothing to complain about but if you want modern up to date decor, this hotel is a bit dated in decor; BUT it is very clean and very well maintained. Absolutely no complaints.

• Robert (10/5): Great ski in, ski out experience. Amazing breakfast. - Perfect location for ski in, ski out from Zunnega area of the mountain. Less than 100 meter walk from the end of the ski run to the hotel front door. Hotel also had great ski and boot storage area (with boot air dryers) for easy storage and access to ski gear. Quick walk to any restaurant in town as well. Furthest we walked was 10 minutes, many times less than five minutes. The breakfast each morning was also very good. Miguel who works at the hotel front desk was also super friendly and helpful in multiple languages. Great experience all around. I wish the hot tub was a little hotter, but not terrible.

• werner (8/5): Die beiden Tage waren gut. Wir hatten gutes Wetter und die Möglichkeit auf kurzem Weg in das Zentrum - Das Zimmer hatte Blick auf das Matterhorn. Lediglich war der Blick insgesamt durch einen Baukran leicht eingeschränkt. Frühstück war normal.
