Guest Reviews
- Lina (8/5): Very good -
- Louise (7/5): It's okay. Not particularly good, but ok. - Well located (short walk to the old medina) private, spacious. The check-in was very difficult. The photo that is provided to show you the entrance, is not the entrance, and the apartment building does not show a street number.
I was told there would be "a concierge" who can help me ascend the elevator the first time - but as another reviewer has also said: there is no concierge. This meant I needed to carry all of my luggage (23kg + 10kg) up 5 flights of stairs. If I was traveling with someone else this would not be so much of a problem (one person could stay with the bags downstairs while the other goes upstairs to get the elevator chip).
The apartment shows a bit of wear and tear - stained furniture, broken toilet seat, the hot water system is leaking all over the bench, and the iron is completely calcified, so it leaves white chalk all over your clothes.
As a solo female traveller, my main concern was with security. Access to the apartment is with an electronic PIN code-lock. But the deadbolt function has not been installed, so you cannot lock it from the inside. Because of this you can't be sure someone with the code won't let themselves in (either while you are sleeping, or while you are out). So I pushed some furniture in front of the door at night to feel safe.
All in all, I'd say this place is "average", but I was very lucky with my accommodation throughout the rest of North Africa. If you are a solo woman and you like to feel safe, I would recommend maybe finding somewhere else.
