Guest Reviews
- TOMASZ (10/5): -
- Christopher (8/5): Speightstown’s Little Gem - Location. Beautifully decorated and well equipped. Lots of noise from people accessing car park. Unfortunately the gate which kept being slammed was directly under the bedroom and neighbours were not very considerate.
Also, tumble dryer was broken and so was the clothes airer.
- Lara (10/5): - This is a really well equipped apartment in an idyllic location, literally a stones throw from the beach. Ashli was really communicative and arranged early check in and late check out for us. The apartment was comfortable and a joy to stay in - thank you! Nothing
- Hilary (8/5): Enjoyable and appreciative of the house and all it had available. - The location was great and we loved the balcony to watch the beach and locals passing by. All the additional things at the house were useful and fun, like a Bluetooth speaker. The system on arrival was not easy. Even with all the instructions it took concentration and time. Would have preferred being met to enter on the initial arrival.
- Heather (10/5): A wonderful stay with a comfortable space and a very responsive host! - Turtles Hideaway was the perfect getaway for myself and my husband. The apartment was immaculate and had all the necessities we needed since we packed very light for our trip. Host was only a text a way if we needed anything, which we didn’t but we were assured we could reach out at anytime.
The location had a balcony so that you could see the ocean. There were multiple AC units to keep cool. Would definitely recommend.
- Dewyne (10/5): An idyllic, comfortable, convenient & secure villa tucked away in a literal paradise. - The location and view is hard to beat. The unit is called Turtles Hideaway now after a refurb from when it was called Coral Sands. You are mostly tucked away from the hustle and bustle so it does appropriately feel like a bit of a hideaway and Sands Street beach is literally about 10 steps in front of the property. On top of this, you also have the incredible convenience of the local Speightstown amenities about 2 mins walk away with the restaurants and 2 mins walk in the other direction to what we considered the most quiet, peaceful and picturesque beach on the island hands down - Heywoods Beach. The incredibly popular street food stall Caboose is right there at the entrance too!
Ashli the owner is very passionate and poured her heart and soul into preparing the spacious property for our comfortability. She is patient and accommodating and has thought of absolutely every single thing you could need for your stay. Things we thought maybe she overlooked were then found new and neatly packed in cupboards waiting for us to use during any weather. One of the room fans stopped working but Ashli turned up in the morning with a brand new, very decent one as a replacement. Her house keeper Sonjia also stops by regularly to service the place if and when desired. She is very nice and has lots of experience of the area.
The security of the property also gave us real peace of mind. It has a dedicated, gated parking space at the rear, gates for the front entry and gates covering all the windows. Being a beach property, it is also all completely keyless entry if you want to use it that way. It's worth noting that the property is on two levels, upstairs and downstairs with another penthouse property on top of it; the pics may not show this explicitly. So even though the Baia restaurant obscures the gated view at the bottom, that isn't so much the case from the much wider view upstairs. The only thing that we didn't like was almost certainly out of the owners control - crickets. They can be quite noisy at night as I believe they congregate in a large bush right beside the side entrance to the building as you enter the car park. I did some research and heard they hate the scent of peppermint so I sprayed a couple small bottles of essence in and around that bush one night. It deterred them for just a little while only. However, earplugs then solved the issue for us so I would say bring them as essentials for when you visit any Caribbean island.
