Guest Reviews
- Sarah (7/5): Glad we stayed at the Albion but the experience could have been better (breakfast) . - The building and room were lovely as was the location - very convenient. The car park is small we only just managed to get a space.
The breakfast was a bit disappointing. Only granola as a cereal option - too much sugar.
The boiled eggs were cold which I would have been happy with but the insides were runny ! Cold runny egg is not pleasant (ie raw !)
Too expensive !
- Holly (10/5): Beautifully created. The Albion is like stepping into a world of tranquility. - Beautifully created. The Albion is like stepping into a world of tranquility and such a personalised experience. We were also given a free upgrade and had breakfast served on our table as we were the only guests that night. Spot on! NOTHING!

- Emily (9/5): very characterful hotel in a wonderful town - very lovely and characterful hotel in a wonderful town. We thought the breakfast selection and general atmosphere and presentation was superb. my boyfriend is 198cm and he couldn't stand up straight (not even close to standing up straight) in the breakfast room and corridors of the hotel. the staff kindly moved us to a new room so that he could stand up in the room. it's actually illegal in germany to build rooms with ceilings lower than 240cm, so we were quite shocked, and in general I was just quite surprised that a 3 year old hotel has been built in such un-inclusive way. because of this and a few quirks in the way that it is design which make the rooms not 100% easy to use (like not being able to access the windows to close blinds, nor having a second side to the bed), I felt the place was a bit overpriced.
parking was also a bit difficult as the car park always ran out of spaces, though I think this is being changed soon if I understood correctly.
- Mary (10/5): Excellent decor and fittings - interesting, stylish and well proportioned room. - Location is perfect for accessing the town on foot. A slight issue with the lack of bathroom privacy due to the semi-opaque sliding bathroom door.

- mathew (9/5): Almost perfect. - Loved the design of the place, particularly the sink and mirror area. The room was lovely and serene. Nice view of the river and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good The fridge wasn't cold enough. Nespresso machine would have been nice.
- Dave (9/5): -
- Holly (10/5): unique and boutique - Lovely Scandi-style breakfast. When we arrived we didn't know what to expect. so expect a beautiful, grand old refurbished building with upcycled interior. right on the river, cute bar and reception area. Cosy rooms with gorgeous views of the river. the most unbelievably comfy beds (better than home), great amenities, lovely soaps in the showers and just generally a lovely lovely getaway. This is what hotels should be about, a step up from home. a bed so cosy, you actually don't want to return home? Nothing. Everything was fantastic.
- Geoff (10/5): Interesting conversion of an historic building in a great location with very helpful staff. - Great healthy lavish breakfast- friendly and helpful staff. Accommodating health needs on a lights issue (for a serious sight related epilepsy condition.)
Picturesque views and great location with the hotel sympathetically converted. nothing
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anita (7/5): Good -
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful hotel with wonderful amenities including lovely bath products and an outdoor fire. The breakfast was fantastic, all locally sourced food including smoked salmon and granola, plus coffee or tea. I’d come back to Wales just to stay here again!
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Excellent staff very friendly, the event was excellent - The breakfast was ok but a bit lacking in variety of options and too “fussy”and not much on offer A home cooked locally sourced hot breakfast selection would of been most welcomed
- Gerwyn (10/5): Relaxing and welcoming - Nice atmosphere All was good
- Clair (10/5): A memorable stay. - Beautifully presented throughout. Comfortable bed, lovely team who were always really helpful and interested in our stay. Great views. Breakfast was particularly special. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reena (8/5): Very enjoyable and relaxing once relocated to lower floor - Fab location on bank of River Teifi Bed in first night only accessed on one side and had to climb over partner and 4 flights of stairs to room
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hoskins (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (10/5): Everyone should make it their mission to visit this beautiful hotel - Location, facilities, staff- perfection.
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (9/5): High spec design stay - Lovely decor and excellent that the character of the building had been maintained. Nice nods to the history and lots of Welsh fabrics in use. Comfy bed and great shower. Scandi style breakfast was something different. Parking was tight and it was unclear what belonged to the hotel and what didn’t. No TV in the room which was good for the switch off/camping style experience - however a radio would be nice. The room was a little hot but there was a decent fan in the room.
- Kim (4/5): Disappointing - For the price, this isn't a great option. It's more of a room to rent than a proper hotel - no room cleaning, no phone in the room, terrible breakfast.
And to add - it's not a well built building - very thin floors so we were up all night with the room above banging around all evening.
- Lee (7/5): Could be superb but some of the team crashed it. :( - Breakfast V Good. Enjoyed Skandi style. Great Quality Ingredients Some poor service. Some fantastic. Didn't get a sense that some were proud to work in such a lovely building. Everything is set for fantastic friendly service to top off the experience. But it didn't happen.
- Jaccimac (10/5): Pre Birthday loveliness and perfect! - Just LOVE this place - the decor, the simplicity and ease of everything, great staff and vibe. It's a FAVE! O, great cocktails too! We liked it all :)
- Claudia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barry (8/5): Every thing about the hotel was good, apart from the bed location, and despite that, we would stay there again if we are - The welcome was excellent, we were given a drink from the bar, and the room was spotless. The bed had one side against a wall. My wife had to climb over me to get out of bed during the night.
- Aled (9/5): Ardderchog - da iawn ! Excellent ! - Wonderful view and tasteful rooms. Porridge !
- Jack (7/5): Nice but basic - Lovely staff. Great room overlooking Cardigan. Bar was great, with a good selection of locally brewed beers. It’s a shame, I wanted to love this place. I’d read a lot about Fforest and the farm, and I thought the town hotel would live up to the name and ethos. But I feel it’s incredibly disingenuous to charge so much for a place that can’t even be bothered to put on food on a Sunday when everything nearby is closed. Either decrease the price on a Sunday or ensure their locally affiliated restaurants are open. Or serve tapas. I was looking forward to staying here and instead ended up searching town for a takeaway. One of the worst fish and chips I’ve had for a very long time. Not exactly the ethos of locally grown produce and good food I was expecting.
I would have given a good 10 based on the staff and warm feel, but the basics should be thought through. Even the breakfast was very simple and not what I was expecting, as it was only a collection of cold food and boiled eggs. Not worth the price I paid and probably. Disappointing.
- David (7/5): Good -
- Dave (8/5): Very good - Location, and unique building Nothing major, a mirror in the room for hairstyling
- Richard (10/5): Excellent, if visiting Cardigan i would recommend. Some great locations for dinner nearby. - Breakfast was excellent - not the usual 'English breakfast' but more imaginative. The service was good and the coffee excellent.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edward (10/5): Outstanding!!! I will be back when I am next in the area!! - Everything!!! Hands down the best hotel I’ve stayed in the UK!!! The attention to detail is to another level, from the comfort of the rooms to the thought with the layout of each room and materials used!! The staff very helpful and welcoming and it’s a great location!! The only slight downside is the price for a room! Hard to find a fault really, only the price slightly higher than what I would like to have paid for one night! But I’ve paid a lot higher for less quality in the UK!!
- Trudy (9/5): Superb - The character in the hotel. Loved it Nothing
- Llyr (10/5): Exceptional - Great place in a good location. The room was lovely, warm, quite and very comfy. Breakfast was great, not the traditional breakfast, but still great! Would definitely stay here again.
- Sue (10/5): I stayed to enable me to attend a course and it was very handy for where I was going - Very friendlly attentive staff and good room, bar and restaurant They need a signpost indicating the way into the hotel and car park when you come from the direction of Aberystwyth as I shot past it and ended up in Cardigan's one way system
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (10/5): A great place to stay - Everything was perfect, great breakfast, made a change from a cooked breakfast. location good too
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Brendan (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (10/5): Would thoroughly recommend with bells on! - Staff so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, such a lovely place I stayed an extra night!
- Rhys (10/5): Exceeded expectations. - Quality experience
- Victoria (10/5): Amazing throughout - First time going. The room is comfortable, full of character and overall had a lovely athosphere.
The staff were so supportive and the food is wonderful.
Have already booked again for later in the year as it was a wonderful experiance. Nothing... the hotel experiance was flawless
- Kiefer (8/5): Very good very nice - The property itself was perfect We got charged twice by accident and had to wait a long time to check in.
- Julie (10/5): Absolutely fabulous! - We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff are amazing, big shout out to Georgia and the lovely lady who served breakfast (sorry we didn't get her name) We loved everything about our stay and hope to return. It was all lovely.
- Julian (9/5): Superb - The overall ambiance and decor was excellent. Staff "David" (a one man show in tbe evening) was excellent :) Having to climb over your partner to get to your side of the bed. Otherwise all good
- Jo (10/5): thoroughly recommended - great staff, great location, amazingly well designed rooms - functionally and aesthetically, delicious food errr… can’t think of anything
- Abbey (10/5): Friendly, warm, gorgeous, delicious. - This was one of the best hospitality experiences we've ever had! The staff are the heart of Albion, each of them helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and friendly - always willing to chat, give recommendations, and connect. The breakfast was delicious, the restaurant on-site is amazing (though only open on the weekends), and the bar/coffee is well-stocked and wonderful. The hotel itself is thoughtfully designed with quality products with an incredible location in the city and in Wales overall.
- Ian (10/5): Weekend visit - Great staff, location and setting, well presented for a relaxing stay or local activities. Close to the town centre and a minute or so walk away from the town.. Small green Emergency light kept me up but not the other half! Proprietors are sensible looking at options to meet H&S legal requirements. This issue affects other hotel business so don’t let this stop you visiting and have an enjoyable time like we did! Happy to return again!
